Gadflies Without a Sting: The Downside of Skepticism

Deepak Chopra - October 10, 2005

There is a field beyond all notions of right and wrong.
Come, meet me there. -- Rumi

We live in a society where the worst humiliation, apparently, is to be duped. If Skeptic’s table of contents reflects the world, we are buried up to our necks in charlatans, pseudoscientists, scam artists, and the self-deluded. I cannot otherwise explain why being skeptical, without any additional positive contribution, is considered somehow admirable. I dislike skepticism when it sits by the road and shoots down any traveler trying to take a different way. I oppose skepticism when it turns destructive, using disdainful dismissiveness as its chief tactic.

Let me speak personally here as a target of skeptical critiques:

1. I have rarely met a skeptic who didn’t use ad hominem attacks.

2. Skeptics generally leap to the conclusion that I am naive, self-deluded, or simply unread in the sciences.

3. Skeptics rarely examine the shaky assumptions of their own position.

4. Skeptics believe that doubt is a positive attribute. (Skeptics in person can be appealing, usually in a kind of quirky misanthropic way, although most come off as self-important petty naysayers who try everyone’s patience.)

5. Worst of all, skeptics take pride in defending the status quo and condemn the kind of open-minded inquiry that peers into the unknown.

Some debunking is laudable, and I have no problem with anyone who has punctured some form of charlatanism, but to call skepticism a wholesome, philosophically valid position goes too far. Skepticism is the attitude of doubt, or to dress it up for the dictionary, “the method of suspended judgment, systematic doubt, or criticism characteristic of skeptics.” But in my experience skeptics are overreachers. They equate doubt with logical thinking, so that to be unskeptical makes one irrational. The use of words like pseudoscience, magic, superstition, and ignorance bolsters their central claim that only fools and knaves occupy the low ground outside the skeptical tradition. But Keats, Beethoven, and Van Gogh all worked in irrational fields. And the line between religion and science, which skeptics defend like armed guards, isn’t so definite as they suppose, given the religious bent of Kepler, Newton, Einstein, and other scientific minds great and small.

At its most credible, (here I want to show doubt in the best light) skepticism is the handmaiden of science and the scientific method. In and of itself, skepticism has made no actual contribution to science, just as music reviews in the newspaper make no contribution to the art of composition and book reviewing falls far short of writing books. Because it rides on science’s coattails, skepticism lays claim to defeating all manner of fallacies and ignorance when it has done no such thing. Skeptics have not contributed to theories of mathematics or logic in any substantial way, and the chief victory of skepticism (to discredit religious thinking as opposed to scientific thinking) is a battle long ago won.
But skeptics can’t wait to fight the battle again, and people like me, who discuss spirituality and science in the same breath, are vehemently accused of the same ignorant tendencies as fundamentalists waiting for Jesus to return tomorrow. So why be skeptical at all? What science has defeated is the great tradition of idealism. This tradition has hundreds of branches, but let’s accept the simple dictionary definition: idealism is “a theory that ultimate reality lies in a realm transcending phenomena.” By nature most people are idealistic. They accept God and have a will to believe. They are open to experiences beyond their five senses, such as love and beauty. They assume that there is an ultimate Truth.

Idealism thus persists in popular culture, but science has felled it on practically every academic front. To be honest, the assault was stunning, and victory was based on the simplest tactic. “Show me what you can prove, not what you believe.” Using experimental proof as its standard, science sent idealism scurrying in baffled confusion. Darwin defeated teleology, the age-old principle that Nature has a goal and purposeful design. Materialism relegated God to an unprovable hypothesis, along with everything associated with the numinous, such as the soul, the afterlife, and religious inspiration. Philosophy scrambled to shed Plato and Hegel and become scientific through the efforts of G. E. Moore and Wittgenstein, later morphing into the work of Austin and the ordinary language school of British philosophy.

Idealism failed to strike back. True, the French philosopher Henri Bergson, who theorized about an invisible life force or ‘élan vital,’ won the Nobel Prize in 1926, but that was for literature, a stark acknowledgment that any theory about invisible realities deserved to be considered imaginary, or at best a matter of faith.

To say that the victory of science was the victory of skepticism is misleading, however. If science had been merely skeptical, it would have merely replaced belief with disbelief. This it didn’t do; science gave new grounds for knowledge that belief couldn’t match. To disdainfully dismiss any immaterial phenomenon, as skeptics do, actually betrays the scientific method, which allows any hypothesis into argument in an open-minded tolerance for the next ridiculous speculation that may turn out to be true.

Skeptics defend the necessity to keep science and religion in their own proper place. Imagine a man walking into a room, and the skeptic who is there to vet his credentials says, “Well, I see you believe in God, but you also do good science, so come on in. Just don’t mix the two.” It disturbs me that the man being vetted could be Albert Einstein, Wolfgang Pauli, or Erwin Schrödinger. Asking a great mind to separate faith and science asks too much, and I think it asks too much of lesser minds, too. Why not try to see if the schism can be repaired?

Science emerged from the Copernican revolution as the winner, the new paradigm, to use Thomas Kuhn’s famous term. But science is wrong if it believes it is the last paradigm or the only one that deserves credence. The nature of new paradigms, as Kuhn wrote, is that they explain more than the previous paradigm. Thermodynamics tells us more about heat than the medieval concept of phlogiston. Modern science explains a lot and keeps explaining more. But outside the fence one still perceives a host of inexplicable mysteries, and once it becomes respectable to approach them again, when God, consciousness, metaphysics, cosmic evolution, and meta-biology rid themselves of the taint of idealism, the next paradigm will emerge. It may happen through super-string theory or cyber theory or a field as yet unnamed.

If anyone doubts that these enigmas exist, please Google any term I’ve used here. Delve into the anthropic principle, Rupert Sheldrake’s morphogenetic fields, Susan Blackmore’s books on consciousness, current neurological theory as represented by Humberto Maturana’s and Francisco Varela’s The Tree of Knowledge, along with more imaginative but to me still insightful books by Lyall Watson. You will find countless sites and articles on the current state of speculative thought. If you are certain that I, or anyone like me, is a fool or a knave, keep searching until you find a writer you feel you can trust.

If you feel that nobody can be trusted, then keep your allegiance to skepticism, and enjoy its attitude of self-reinforced doubt.

Love,
Deepak

You seem to be very skeptical about the value of skeptics... Hmmm....

Bravo!!

Dug being with you Dr. C in Santa Cruz, Saturday night. 'Live' says it like this: 'I can feel it coming back again, like rolling thunder chasing the wind, like forces pulling from the center of the Earth again, I can feel it.'

'Quantum awareness' brings with it paradox and duality. It seems as if I wander in awe some days in a pre-Copernican world/consciousness. Without this understanding that you describe so eloquently, the Newtonian bias remains dense and frustrating. A certain letting go seems to be part and parcel of this awareness.

Dr. Chopra, we are the 14 billion year old primal explosion and its aftermath. I can see it in your eyes Dr. Chopra. I can feel it in our Soul. You exhibited/exemplified the Fire, the indignation, the fullest spectrum of I AM with for example, Dennis Miller before my eyes and in my heart and soul. The fireball is in me. I want to harness, deliver, declare, revere and uphold it in all of its dignity. It has been excised from our culture, media, medicine, relationships and shows up as shadow. When will we resurrect the fireball in all of us? Celebrate it, make it practical. Burning Man hints at it. You nail it.

Let us bring the Fire back into the equation for our wellness protocol. Let's stoke the realization of I AM with all due respect and passion. Let's do it because we can and WE ARE.

Love and Light from the Fire,

Herby

Well said! I've been wanting to say just that to all the skeptics I know. Thank you!

Very sad article that completely misrepresents the role of skeptics.

Skeptics do not have a charter for contributing to science, logic, or mathematics in a fundamentally new path. In that sense, yes, they are a lesser breed than the visionaries and luminaries. No skeptic is ever hailed as a great scientist or scholar because of his skepticism. There were probably skeptics who dismissed Einstein's views as heretic in the scientific community but the persuasion and thoroughness of his observable, replicable scientific enquiry marginalized them completely.

"Asking a great mind to separate faith and science asks too much" and "Why not try to see if the schism can be repaired?" It is a precious few who think this schism warrants repair!

Because you can't get your metaphysical views published in a respected scientific body, please don't shoot down these bodies. They are riddled with nepotism and a fair share of politics (which organization isn't?) but don't use that as a hammer to bludgeon your scientifically unproven views. You are a man of enormous intellect and the ability to meet almost anyone you desire. Please use that to publish your ideas in universally recognized scientific outlets. Complaining that they stifle your creativity is a cop out. Take it as a challenge to submit your views within their system and don't assume it is impossible. Or, if you think that is naiive, set up an organization for investigating these paranormal and metaphysical angles that embody the greatness of quality peer review.

Earlier on this blog, you took the right approach in describing your thoughts on evolution and ID. Most comments were thoroughly debunked on Huffington's blog, in my opinion. Debate each point to its minutest detail, instead of leaving it unsaid.

Discard all my verbiage above and please address this. You said you've been witness to spoon bending. If indeed you did, you have the resources and network to make a fundamental impact. Conduct an experiment with the most rigorous observation (yeah even including the skeptics) to prove this. It is a small step, but eminently practical and tangible. Don't say it does not matter: it gives a concrete claim of yours the opportunity to be rigorously verified. Not accepting the challenge is shying away from wanting to educate others on the truth.

I think that the kind of skeptism you are talking about comes from fear. I have had lengthy discussions with atheists, and when I saw they would not budge, I have said "but look at a tree. Please just look at a tree. You will find all of the evidence there that there has to be a "God". I think that this refusal to see the obvious creativity inherent in Nature may stem from lack of attention. If a person really looks at anything in Nature--a flower, a squirrel, a lake, or most especially a tree (I am from New England--look at the the profound and mysterious beauty of an apple tree--look at the mystery there) that person will feel there is a divine expression there--Nature is not merely "there"--it is expressing something and that something is very mysterious. Maybe skeptics fear delving into that mystery--I don't know--or maybe they have not given the things in Nature enough true "attention"--maybe they have never really looked at Nature.

It is of all ages and all places...
An neverending struggle..of pioneers in a field..

I´ve seen it everywhere there are ´onorthodoxe ways of healing´ or was it (ancient) wisdom? and (un) believers..
tribal conditioning is sooo..

I gladly would take the critics to court,
Dr. Chopra, with the Law of Least Effort, must be a Dharma thing..;)

Keep up the great work,
Love, Passion and zest for Life! ;)

Deepak, you must have the patience of a saint :D:D For so many years you've explained yourself...

I have been a skeptic myself, born and raised in an atheist environment. Then, things started to happen :D

Today, I looove the look on people's faces when, just because of a light touch...,they feel something melting in their spine or...they see a bright white light , or... they start to laugh without reason... It happens sometimes that people come with the explicit intention of proving that I'm a fraud... I touch their pulse and tell them about that prostata problem or about their problems at work, and they get as white as a sheet :D:D I love to shake up skeptics :)

Deepak,
"There is a field beyond all notions of right and wrong. Come, meet me there." -- i

Isn't this quote loaded with idealism?

I sometimes get a mixed message from what you are writing. This why George W. won the last 2 elections precisely why the platform the right wing ran on. Flip Flop. We cannot have our cake and eat it to.

Darwinism hasn't not won. In some circles maybe that is all people are willing to see. Not as a whole. His theory is questioned daily.

Deepak are you skeptical of the right wing agenda? From reading your posts I would be lead to believe you are, and rightly so. Why because the right wing differs from your agenda.

"But outside the fence one still perceives a host of inexplicable mysteries, and once it becomes respectable to approach them again, when God, consciousness, metaphysics, cosmic evolution, and meta-biology rid themselves of the taint of idealism, the next paradigm will emerge. It may happen through super-string theory or cyber theory or a field as yet unnamed."

When you use the strong language such as "taint of idealism, however go on to proclaim a new mode of thought may emerge through yet unrealized theories you are in your own way proselytizing idealism.

I would ask you as someone whom appreciates you a great deal, be more aware and consistent. Simplify your message because some validity gets lost in the translation.

Also please make your programs more accessible to the general public.

Who am I to question Deepak? hmmm Anyways glad you changed the subject from the last topic.
Keep the peace,
Tom

Science or scientific methods are the use of hypotheses, experentments , observations, & even experiences to explain the physical world.......
all subject to proof & disproof, thus progress overtime.

Spiritual pursuit is always a matter of faith. You have certain belief & you make a big leap over & you attain your faith; whether it is Jesus Christ, or loe, or passion, or skepticism...

They are two parallel paths & yet they are connected. They are not opposite to each other & definitely they are not mutally exclusive. I truly believe some spiritual break-through will help out scientific progress & vice versa.

I don't have time to go through Mr. Chopra's argument point by point.

But my intuition is Mr. Chopra is more semantics----playing with words more than conforming to a scientific or logical line of argument, playing more with some myths of life than following the proper spiritual pursuit of the meaning of life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once you mix up the use of words(more complicated, the use of different languages) in your augument, you are mixing logic with the different meanings of certain popular words & phrases, which are real different among people & cultures,ie skepticism doubt.........
Add some myths & some historical & famous quote onto your argument..............

Complete confusion.

But I do agree with one basic point. Skeptic or not, the end result of your usefulness is whether you have contributed anyting to the common good because of your skepticism.

DEEPAK--THANKS FOR THE AWESOME POST!

Just this weekend I was telling a friend of mine, about how I USED to be just as skeptical about being an atheist, as I was about being a believer. For a long time I didn't know what I was. Caught in the middle, just not knowing for sure either way. I always thought I needed to FEEL something before I knew.

Growing up, I was interested in science and spirituality, but nobody ever showed me there could be connections. Several things happened until I realized there was more. Till I found the path to truth. I finally took action--I researched, I learned, I found information I never knew existed. When I thought of myself as an atheist, I did none of that.

Your's, Wayne's, and Neale's books are a huge part of bringing me to where I am now. So for me, it was that I had to pay attention, be aware, and take action--those things brought me out of skepticism.

:)

BUDDHA:-

"Stupidity is the mother of all suffering.

Skepticism is the road to Ultimate Wisdom(Nirvana)."

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now people are starting a great debate on

"What is skepticism?"

?????????????????????

But there are apples, oranges, pears....in this world. If one insists on mixing the three(or more) up, logically, spiritually, & naturally, huge confusion ensued!!

Hi All,

I agree with you Deepak. While I believe that there is great value in questioning assumptions that others make as there is benefit for both parties, as questioning the validity of a claim creates deeper exploration into an idea; there is nothing valuable in being simply negative.

All of the great evolutionary ideas have happened in short periods of time by those willing to question the old assumptions: Is this really true? (The world is flat: Is this really true? The Earth is the center of the Universe: Is this really true? etc. etc.

Even nature shows these leaps to be true. Evolution seems to make a leap...in other words there are very few "intermediary species".

Skepticism is an attachment to a Universe that never changes, when the fact is we know that the Universe is in a constant state of Flux.

Peace,
Scott.

If I may draw an analogy with Mikolaj Kopernik`s
heliocentred theory...,
(as in just like the Vedanta...;)

wich was then considered `against the Biblical teachings`..even though Kopernik had a doctarate in canon Law..mhhmnn go figure..;)

Polish..;) love ;)
I got theory of Law professors in Rotterdam saying Galileo was the first.. can´t help to..;)

How can one not be a skeptic?????????

After hearing the concerns of the Kalamas, the Buddha replied:

"Come Kalamas. Don't go by reports, by legends, by traditions, by scripture, by logical conjecture, by inference, by analogies, by consistency with your own views, by probability, or by the thought. 'This contemplative is our teacher.' When you know for yourselves that 'these mental qualities are unskillful; these mental qualities are blamesworthy; these mental qualities are criticized by the wise; these mental qualities when acted on lead to harm & suffering' then abandon them. When you know for yourselves that'these mental qualities are skillful; these mental qualities are blameless; these mental qualities are praised by the wise; these mental qualities when acted on lead to well-being and happiness' then keep following them."---------------Kalama Sutta

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Skeptic is just a word, nothing more than that and nothing less than that.

JRR Tolkien once said, "The word is not the thing"

how prefound that statement is.

"Miracles happen, not in opposition to nature,
but in opposition to what we know of nature."

-St. Augustine

Deepak:

Wow!

You have just shown why you are in the elite, rarified stratospheric league of those whose IQ exceeds 200. It is always so refeshing to read.

You have expounded your case like a true genius and like a very few can. Your brilliant thoughts represent a paradigm for the next generation of great thinkers. As I said previously, you are a rare gift to humanity, in the same mould as Darwin, Copernicus, Kepler, Sagan, Bruno and others.

Peace and respect.

The fallacy of Mr. Chopra's thesis is he is mixing up skepticism with 'skepticists'.

Skepticism is a state of mind. It is neither good or bad. It can only lead to some future state(s) & hopefully hope, future, or solution to some existing problems.

Skepticists can be bad or good. If he is positive & is contributing to a solution, then he is good. If he is like what Mr. Chopra's description that he or "it sits by the road and shoots down any traveler trying to take a different way.", then he is bad. He is more a murderer than a skepticist!!!!

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So in a way, Mr.Chopra is answering his own puzzle, "that all bad skepticists are real bad!"

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Another example of Mr. Chopra to try to test the intelligence of his disciples.

Deepak, very "thick" post. Inundated in your writings, being "not skeptical" is the notion of a higher state of consciousness beyond materialism. I believe that but recently am questioning it.

Have you seen Werner Herzog's new movie "Grizzly Man?"...a Sundance festival winner.

Herzog believes nature is "chaos and murder" whereas the actor in this new documentary had hopes of a more loving presence beyond consciousness and ultimately, Herzog appears more correct as the main person in the movie, a man who got too close to Bears, eventually is eaten by one.

A similar experience was had by Chris McCandless in John Kraukauer's book "Into the Wild" where a good intentioned boy spent time in Alaska only to succumb to its harshness by starving to death.

So my question is: "Is there a loving-life affirming force beyond the chaos of the universe or is it just chaos or worse, chaos and murder that rules the world?"

I have been experiencing a loving presence, but am feeling a bit "skeptical" of late.

"Stupidity is the mother of all Suffering."

Stupidity also leads to Absurdity.

But is Absurdity worse than Stupidity?

Definitely NO!

With Absurdity everyone can see the imbalance & it could result in some skepticism & thus some changes in the future, hopefully for the better.

With Stupidity, there is no end in sight, except for more suffering.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hopefully Bush has passed through to the Absurdity stage & Americans start doing something about IT.

HaHaHa : I liked this idea...It is very easy to understand and follow in day to day life...for common people like me......my knowledge of english and spirituality both are very limited..so can u tell me what is kalama Sutta.....

There is an element of judgment in skepticism that is counter-productive. And skepticism is only one quite emotional element of science.

I have had my share of constructive criticism from the academic journals in which I'm now pitching to publish. But the criticisms have always taken my point seriously, regardless of agreement on theory and have asked important questions and fostered ways to communicate new ideas that are relevant to the target audience I am trying to engage on issues I feel are of great importance. Constructive dialog appreciating difference is absolutely essential to discovery-the best part of science.

I have appreciated their comments because they have been respectful and yet at the same time allowed for passionate debate on important issues with the goal of learning rather than proving who is most right. Proof for skeptics is usually dangerously close to a moral contest of narrowly defined rights and wrongs limited to the present and based only on the past.

I think you do have what it takes to conduct research on all kinds of amazing questions we have. People need hope in different ways about these things. Although it is hard, I think you should go to the darkest corner of this and wrangle with the language and system as it will strethen your own position and way to articulate it to more people in a deeper way. It can be a discipline without these games of proving what you know is true based on sound experience, literature, dialog and what and lies in your own heart.

Tyan,

Man, I don't know where you are comning from, it reminds me more of charlatanism. Dr, D C is the real deal. The intelligence of this audience is, for the most part, sound. Occasionally, though, a Tyan-like flatuates in it.

The "real" is unreal
and the "unreal" becomes real
That's enlightenment

I think Im gonna like it here. I attended a lecture by Deepak Chopra last night and found it so enlightening. Im very much looking forward to finding older posts...

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Per Mr. Chopra:-

[[“Well, I see you believe in God, but you also do good science, so come on in. ]]

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is typical 'DUALITY' view of the world. Never a reality!!

Science & spiritual pursuit have always been in the mind of every human beings, starting from DAY ONE, scientists or Jesus Christ or whoever.

Using the best imagery that I really like:-

They are two sides of the same coin. The essence of the coin(life) are always there & most people want to flip it & try to affirm it as either science or spiritualiy. You simply cannot have two sides to show up at the same time.

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

The closest one can get is what BUDDHA suggested:- with a clear mind,

Put a coin in front of a mirror, then you can see both the 'HEAD' & the 'TAIL'.

6. Skeptics believe they are doing the entire world a service.

Tyan,

It seems to me that you get a kick at farting at those who are smarter than you. Hey Tyan, when you put a coin up in front of a mirror, which end reminds you of you? Just curious.

Dearest Deepak,

Your passion is beautiful, even though I have only had the pleasure of it since this intentblog came into being, i.e., never saw it on the chopra.com Q&A. You might say, at first, I was shocked, but now I enjoy knowing that you are human, as the rest of us :-) Thanks for sharing the 'fire of your heart.' BTW: You are still the wisest person that I know and a wonderful teacher. God bless you.

Love,
Char

“Skepticism is the attitude of doubt” ~ Deepak Chopra

Doubt consumes the body and mind,
As death continues to knock on the door.
Shall I ever see the light in the darkness?
The shadow reminds me daily of duality.
I am sick of ignorance,
While the fool tags the innocent.
The blood of the heart suffocates,
As I pray for the breath of spirit.
I beg for the fire to purify the soul.

I was at Deepak's lecture in Santa Cruz as well and I enjoyed his speech as always. I missed the lecture in Santa Rosa as I could not bear the 4-hour round trip drive, so I felt blessed when I found out about Deepak stopping in Santa Cruz!

WOW GUYS:

I have to say I'm a bit lost. I have to agree with MAREK even though I don't understand what he's on about more then half the time. Ground rules are non existent in the blogisphere but hey. How about some relevancy. The first 3rd of this blog made it clear that people aren't even reading what Deepak is writing. They are just reacting to synapses' firing in their heads.

And then the sugar coated stuff. I didn't have a bad day but I feel like I've been through the worst of days.

I don't much read TYAN's blogs but DIABLO I would agree with MAREK. Let it be. How can you let one person so get under your skin that you have to attack them? And you really don't have to answer that.

DEEPAK:

For the past few weeks I intermittently run across suggestions that you "devise" your own system. That you devise your own "language".

It reminded me of a fellow you and I both know. I will not mention his name because his name is irrelevant now. The press pretty much helped him out of the game some years ago.

He reached a world wide audience in the millions. What is fascinating is that he created a way of speaking that had never been used before. And it was powerful and effective and everyone that heard him "got" the essence of what he was saying.

He didn't invent a new language. He spoke english. He even co-opted phrases such as "paradigm shift" so as to make them ordinary to the masses. (Many even thought he "created" the term although he never even attempted to make a claim like that.)

His created language was so powerful that he created the possibility of an end to death due to starvation on this planet by the year 2000. Ok they missed the boat but the point is before his organization made this bold commitment, and I remember it well, not one human being even mentioned the idea that hunger would or could be eradicated. At that time everyone was throwing there hands in the air and saying, "oh well, nothing to be done about that."

All it took was speaking in his own created way, a way so unlike anyone before him to bring the possibilities spoken at Live 8 to the table. Maybe you should consider a language that speaks specifically to your intentions without worrying if the "scientific" community will "get it" from the start. I don't know. Build it and they will follow.

DEEPAK:

By the way. It really isn't my business to tell you what to do so please read this as just information.

Diablo,

Smart guy.

You just learned how to see the two sides of a coin at the same time using a mirror.

Do you know how to see your rear end at the same time???

?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Use two parallel mirrors!!! You smart guy!!

Hey Laurence,

It sounds like you had a ruf day at the office. Hopefully, a little huma will make u feel much better. Hey marek, can u pour me sum a dat good stuff, but dont for to pour Tyan one, ok!?

Peace brother.

Absolutely stunning piece. Thank you soooooooo much. You are the best.

TYAN, MAREK, HAHAHA:

I kinda sussed you were the same person but now that I see DIABLO is the same person I will be sure to pass you all bt. Nice one on you Poland.

Men are always boys.

They fight over girls. They fight over a beer. They fight over anything!!

HaHaHa,

Please grow up.

B is right. We are all ONE.

Marek,

Since you really care & also for those interested, I have been on Gleevec for the past five years.

The last time I had my bone marrow tested, it was almost rid of any Philadelphia Chromosone, which are the main cause for the creation of the abnormal cells in the blood combination.

Thanks for the care, love, & passion.

Ha Ha Ha!

Boys will be boys! You guys made me laugh so hard, I peed by myself. I didn't know I could find humor and comic relief here when Deepak uses words I cannot even spell, let alone know the meaning of. LOL.

what do you call a person who honestely questions the validity of a theory or a view point rather than buying it at face value?
would it not be a reverse ad hominem scenario if such a person is confronted by a strong famous personality with a gift of the gab,who doubts the honesty of the question, evades giving an honest answer and instead victimises him/her with a slew of words and marginalising phrases?
every day loud mouths like Bill O'Reilly cut down people with words and prevent honest dialogue, discussion, deliberation and reconciliation of conflict.
It is to the credit of Deepak and Co., that a forum is afforded where honest differences, disagreements and biases can be discussed and hopefully brought to a reasonable closure through proper interpretation of the subject matter.

Love, to ya all, Great to read that, Tyan,
love,

´The first 3rd of this blog made it clear that people aren't even reading what Deepak is writing´

Wich yours?

Love, Passion!

I know your eyes in the morning sun
I feel you touch me in the pouring rain
And the moment that you wander far from me
I wanna feel you in my arms again

And you come to me on a summer breeze
Keep me warm in your love and then softly leave
And it’s me you need to show

Chorus:
How deep is your love
I really need to learn
’cause we’re living in a world of fools
Breaking us down
When they all should let us be
We belong to you and me

I believe in you
You know the door to my very soul
You’re the light in my deepest darkest hour
You’re my saviour when I fall
And you may not think
I care for you
When you know down inside
That I really do
And it’s me you need to show

Chorus
Repeat and fade

Deepak: Superb post! It draws my mind most especially to the well-publized activities of "The Amazing Randy" as the epitome of the skeptic that contributes nothing to the advancements of either reason and spirituality--except by accidental intention--in that he accuses others of the very deficiencies in the application of sound scrutiny--all to derive personal attention, while wearing the mask of a legitimate watchdog for public welfare.

He runs around picking on those who are, by any standard of either logical and/or intuitive measure, let alone both working together (Einstein's definition of 'true genius'), quite obviously open to scrutiny for charlatan-like stances.

And yet, so many of the truly brilliant minds have their "minds tempered in the fires" of this ridicule.

Upon even a cursory inspection of "The Amazing Randy's" claims, I find them to be a mockery of the very reason and logic he purports to be applying when it comes to his "debunking" efforts.

This post most definitely supports the notion once given, not 1/2 a century ago, that "the science fiction of today is the science of tomorrow!"

I am delinquest in recalling the sources of this information, but....if I recall correctly, the original "transmissions" of manifesting the knowledge of both the double-helix of the DNA spirals, as well as, the "chemical fabric" of penicillin, both had their activities come through the corresponding dreams of their discoverers (I recall the "dreamer" of penicillin was Scottish?).

Even if I am completely incorrect regarding the above recollections, we are still left with the notion of Jung's "collective unconscious," or rather, "super-consciousness" being the source of the saying: "There is no power like that of an idea whose time has come."

This may be the reason, like the morphogenetic field, that vastly influential and life-changing discoveries and inventions, or other human achievements, are "discovered" nearly simultaneously in different parts of the world.

I also am left with a paraphrased answer given about the source of the wonderful writings of Mark Twain, a.k.a. Samuel Clemens, when he said: "I never worked a day in my life; I would wake up from a dream and have to write down it's contents," otherwise he said the dream would continue to plague him until he did address the dream in a literary fashion!

Am deriving much solace, humor, as well as indisputable verification that I am actually learning things, and even learning-to-learn anew, the thing that is of most immeasurable worth to my "soul," through the energies of this In-credible (as well as "most credible!") and creative Intentblog.

Thanks to "To the Chopras and Shekhar," and the many vocal,....and silent...., participants of this vehicle for not only global communications, but....well--"elsewhere also, in the connectedness of this Great Work!" Love--Dave

Hey,

Marek,

Dude I love you and all your terrace chicks, but Marek, it seems the more you imbibe that good stuff, the more itchy your fingers become and the more you spammisize (or is it trivialize) this blog. Leave your keyboard alone, my man, or I may have to arrange a get together between you and Tyan!!! Whoa!

Ps. Dave..;)

BRAINY Smurf

The only Smurf to take everything seriously. Brainy is a moraliser who believes everything Papa Smurf says is sacred. Everyone puts up with him, but let’s face it: he’s a bore. In fact, he’s a real pain in the Smurf.

JOKEY Smurf

Jokey spends all his time concocting pranks. He builds gift-wrapped packages that explode in your face. He has an endless stream of jokes. Sometimes, he gets on everyone’s nerves. And once in a while, his jokes backfire on him.

GROUCHY Smurf

No matter what anyone says, Grouchy is against it. He grumbles and mumbles and always thinks negative. But underneath it all, he’s a softy and loves Sassette and Baby. But he’d hate it if people knew.

Just like..Life? don´t you agree Dave, sir? ;)

Marek: Had to give up the "drink" not long after I was your age--I was never much good at 'everything in moderation!'

Sooo...hope you'll enjoy a few for me, and am glad you are studying the law. I liked what you posted about your early years, in '81/82. Those years were, for me, when I really become quite the opposite of where you are in learning--and yes, Roger--correct in "delinquent" as that is certainly what I became!

Maybe we could have a new word then, since the English language, particularly with the application of Americans like me using such, maybe needs a new word like "delinquest!"

Not exactly a term that implies a noble pursuit, but certainly an accurate term to describe the pursuits of about half my life!

Thanks to you both for catching some of the inconsistencies in my "random babblings!" Dave

here a lecture, they should give the good doctor,
the Nobel prize for...guess..;)

´Equality means no one, no one in the world, is either superior or inferior to me at the level of spirit. We have different qualities of spirit, but we are equal. And when we are drawn to somebody, it is to mutually nourish each other. In order to cultivate that, we have to begin to become aware of what I just said--why we are drawn.

Sensitivity is the ability to know what is going on in the other person. Sensitivity implies that you are comfortable with the fact that people can be emotionally quite troubled and still be normal, and that emotions are frequently conflicting, confusing, paradoxical, contradictory´

Love,

Trying to be misunderstood
But it doesn't do me any good
love the way they smiled at me
held their face for eternity
Now let them all fly off

When it comes down
it all comes down
And you will not be found
When it's over it's all over
Even if I make a sound

I'll be misunderstood
By the beautiful and good in this city
None of it was planned
Take me by the hand
Just don't try ...and understand

Trying to be misunderstood
Just a product of my childhood
Still I find myself outside
You can't say I haven't tried
Perhaps I tried too hard

No excuses, I won't apologise
Or justify your lies
Come find me, tell them to me
Look me in the eyes

I'll be misunderstood
By the beautiful and good in this city
None of this was planned
Take me by the hand
Just don't try ...and understand

Can't forgive, sorry to say
You don't know you're guilty anyway
Isn't it funny how we don't speak
The language of love?

Tyan,

What are u doing this weekend? I am free! Would you like to go out? I am getting to dig you more and more each time you make those sweet, girly comments.

Romancing Diablo. Love and passion, girlfriend!

Tyan: Well girl---we're waiting for you to answer "Romancing Diablo!" Dave

To Marek,

---borrow from BUDDHISTS' teachings---

I am clouds in the sky
Sometimes you see me
Sometimes you don't
But I am there

I am birds flying in the sky
Leaving no traces behind
Going somewhere and nowhere
But I am there

I sm waves serfing in the ocean
Coming nowhere
And going nowhere
But I am there

I am the wind blowing across the earth
Stopping nowhere & going nowhere
But I am there

Love & passion!!!

To Tyan,

A friend is someone we turn to
when our spirits need a lift.
A friend is someone we treasure
for our friendship is a gift.
A friend is someone who fills our lives
with beauty, joy, and grace.
And makes the whole world we live in
a better and happier place.

;)

It think a certain special young man is eagerly awaiting your response, to his invitation, for a small romantic get-together this weekend, so I´ve read on another Blog, T,

please be gentle...

Love, to ya all, ;)

Deepak,
I used to practise clinical hypnotherapy and I found that the more that person was skeptical about hypnosis, the better the subject was and the deeper they would go into an altered state!
Whilst you have some very valid points about how far skepticism can go and how damaging it can be, I like to re-frame the skeptic as someone who is just in fear. And fear is the absence of love. Maybe you just need to send your powerful thoughts of love to that person who is skeptical - who knows what might happen?
love,
Torestin

Hi Tyan,

Your man Diablo is awaiting confirmation of our hot first date this weekend. He is not used to rejection.

If I don't hear from you by noon today (West Coast time), I might have to ask one of my other hotties out. This priviledged list includes Amy, Angie, Bunny, Christie, Dawn, Lisa, Lianna, Tiana Tamra, Tammy, Tammy again, Madison Brittany, Brittany again, Lindsey, Christal, just to name a few. I guess you are looking for a one-woman man. Well, Big D ain't that darling. He's just a ladies' man.

No, am not a slut, am just that good, real good! Just ask the ladies.

Romancing D. with love, passion and compassion.

Pssst... D, my man,
you shouldn´t talk to the applepie,
like that, you smooth operator, you are, ;)

you should say something like:

I'm just a telephone call away
You can pick it up and call me any day
And I´m a listen to all you got to say
Cause I'm the type of man that never turn a woman away
Think of this as an invitation
Your heart to mine in a conversation
So when things get to much to bare like The Jackson 5 - "I'll be there"!!
Just call me up on the telephone
Call me up when you're all alone
And I'll give you a verbal massage
Until your man gets home
Or if you want to you know what you could do, well,
You could always hop in your car
and..
you could come and ring my bell!!!

Love, Passion,
http://www.oldielyrics.com/lyrics/d_j_jazzy_jeff_the_fresh_prince/ring_my_bell.html

This girl, is mine! D, you´ve had your shot,
now let mackdaddy marky marek show you how it´s done..

Tyan this one´s for you...

Ain't no doubt about it
I can't wait to get home to you
(I gotta get home, yeah, uh, uh, come on.)
Connected with my baby
Just jammin online with you
(online, online, online)

Here in my room we are as one
(together you and me, together you and me)
Hours connect
As we switch on (switch on)

She's my best kept secret
My internet girl (my internet girl)
She's my one and only
And I ain't tellin' the world (my internet girl)

She's my best kept secret
Hooked up all night with that girl
(my internet girl)
She's my one and only, my internet girl
(my internet girl)
My internet girl, my internet girl.

Shufflin' through my windows
Gotta find my way back to you
(I gotta find away, gotta find a way)
(I gotta find a way, gotta find a way)

You left me mail in the inbox
Thinkin' about what we should do
(I will type again girlfriend, so tell me, tell me what you wanna do)

You left me the password to your heart
(yeah, that's it. I got it.)
No lookin' back we clicked from the start
I wanna let you know
She's mine

love, to ya all, and good spiritual vibrations!

Marek,

You smoother, slicker, glib-tongued suave Polish debonair. My man, you are the bomb, you can have my girl T... anytime. She is now officially all yours, completely.

Lost and forlorn in cyber love, I must stick to chicks who can flick my switch out here in the wild, wild West.

Am out. Peace!

hey man, my name isn´t Will Smith!
(nor Aaron Carter, for that mather..)
I´m all into polish applepie, dude,
(I´d spamm some polish rap on her, but the girl wouldn´t understand...;)
besides,
Tyan is way to much girl for a softie like me,
She´d kick my ass!

Sending T. back at ya for some of that sweet Snoop A dog is a Dogg, lovin´of yours!

With Passion! love, ;)

Marek, my man,

No, no, no, I don't want Tyan back. She is all yours, completely, totally, raptuously and wildly, my Polish brother. You de man, dude. Keep her! This Canadian lassie is all yours. Polish-Canadian, hmm, does have a ring to it!

Am out. Peace.

ok then. (you owe me one, D, ;)

Tyan for you, with love,

Louise L. Hay,
"In my life there is an infinate supply of love, it is in exhastable, i can never use it all in this lifetime so i don't have to be sparing with it!"

In Spirit

Though you don't live next door,
though you're five states away,
You're still here in my thoughts
every week, every day.

When events of the day
cause this soul to despair,
just the sound of your voice
makes them easy to bear.

When I don't have the luxury
of feeling your soft touch
or taking in your scent,
which I appreciate so much,

I need only look back
at the times we have had
to wonder if I've
any right to be sad.

You're truly a blessing.
I want you to know
that I care for you deeply,
wherever I go.

- Benjamin Heller -

Love, Passion, to ya all,

Why are you two handsome, naughty (or is that nutty) youngmen fighting over this unresponsive, boring Canadian gal Tyan? Just curious!

Cherry,

sweetheart, love, darling, you,. .I still don´t know if you can bake me that (cherry) applepie..?

With love,

TYAN is a popular Oriental name for a nun.

TY means to shave----to shave your hair(& hair symbolises suffering).
AN means peace.

So literally TYAN means shaving all your hair & getting rid of all the suffering on earth & you will have eternal peace.

A popular monk's name is DYAN.(die--an)

BIG D-----or DYAN

Literally it means if you die, you will have eternal peace, & rid of all your suffering esp. with all those ladies.

Peace & passion.

yo! is everybody here?
Yeah!
Cherry?
I’m here!
Tyan and the nun?
We’re here!
Diablo and David?
I’m here.... and I’m here!
Since everybody’s here, let’s tell and sing ´em what angel means!

Word up! (all together, guys..)

A!! it means I’m always gonna love you
N!! I’m never gonna leave you
G!! it’s for your good, good lovin’
E!! it’s for your everlasting love
L!! is because I love you, really, really love you..

With love,
PS. cherry, how about..that...?

Marek,

Feel good(through one's six senses).
Have fun(through one's intellectual mind).
Enjoy(through one's heart).
Be happy(through one's spirituality).
[your quotes, lyrics, songs, & poems just do that!]

Otherwise life is always a struggle, even for an intelligent blogger.

So to repeat:-

Life is a song---sing it.
Life is a game---play it.
Life is a challenge---meet it.
Life is a dream---realize it.
Life is a sacrifice---offer it.
Life is love---enjoy it.

Life is a fairytale, but only if you believe in it.

Life is a gift---send it.
Life is a joke---share it.
Life is a contract---sign it.
Life is a dance---do it.
Life is a painting---finish it.

Life is a mirracle---if you believe in it.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Again, like two clouds in the sky, there is really no reason to stick together.

The sky is so blue & so vast. We are free to go anywhere we so desire!!!

Free & Easy--a spontaneous song
----Venerable Lama Gendun Rinpoche

Happiness cannot be found
through great effort or willpower,
but is already present,in open relaxation & letting go.
Don't strain yourself,
there is nothing to do or undo,
whatever momentary arises in the body-mind
has no real importance at all,
has little reality whatsoever.
Why identify with, & become attached to it,
passing judgment upon it & ourselves?

Far better to simply
let the entire game happen on its own,
springing up & falling back like waves--
without changing or manipulating anything--
and notice how everything vanishes and
reappears, magically, again & again,
time without end.

Only our searching for happiness
prevents us from seeing it.
It's like a vivid rainbow which you pursue without ever catching,
or a dog chasing its own tail.
Although peace & happiness do not exist as an actual thing or place.

It (happiness) is always available
and accompanies you every instant.
Don't believe in reality
of good & bad experiences;
they are like today's ephemaral weather,
like rainbows in the sky.

Wanting to grasp the ungraspable,
you exhaust yourself in vain.
As soon as you open & relax this tight fist of grasping
infinite space is there--open, inviting & comfortable.

Make use of this spaciousness, this freedom & natural ease.
Don't search any further,
Don't go into the tangled jungle
looking for the great awakened elephant,
who is already resting quietly at home
in front of your own hearth.
Nothing to do or undo.
Nothing to force.
Nothing to want
and nothing missing!!

Emaho!! Marvelous!!
Everything happens by itself!!

eeuh yeah, T., but...

An applepie doesn´t bake (by) itself..

So..Cherry, your sweetness is my weakness,
are you the princess..? of my..dreams of
1001 nights..of..passion?

Swinging on a Star,
Love,

are you...

love,

Hey, Hey, Hey,!

Marek, you absolutely de man!

Wow!

This Canadian lassie is completely, totally, raptuously and cyberly head-over-heels over you, dude. Your powerful intellect, your profound wisdom and your literary charm are what did it. Wow, M, my man, you de real man, dude!

Wow! Tyan, unresponsive and seemingly cold for so so long (playing hard-to-get?) Look at her now! She is opening up to you like a weterlilly, like a summer rose!>>>>>>>>>>.

This lassie don't want to become part of Diablo'e love circle, Big D's priviledged harem. No way! This is too shallow for such a class act!

She is all yours, bro! You don't need no help from you bra D. That's for dam sure!

Am out.

P.S. HaHaHa, Baby, you jealous or what? Diablo has plenty of love for all. This love, like the infinity of space, is unlimited.

P.S. Thanks for the explanation of the meaning of tyan in the Oriental sense. But don't care too much for that. In English, it sounds sexy, and that's plenty good enough for your man D.

And watch the master himself, Marek, display how to get and share such latently sweet cyber love he's now so receiving from his girl Tyan. Wow!

whoooo...this teddybear isn´t..anybody´s honey..?

yet..? but this Winnie does has a nose for.. honeys..? or was that..cherry applepie..?

Love,
http://disney.go.com/disneyvideos/animatedfilms/pooh/

Marek,

Sounds like your girl T is getting all jealous over your other applepie, Cherrylane?

What a laadies' man, you are Mr. Slick Debonair!

You know what is it, Heavy D.?,
you P.I.M.P, extra-ordinary,
smooth operator, hot mommy motivator?

The power of love is a curious thing
make a one man weep, make another man sing
Change a hawk to a little white dove
more than a feeling, that's the power of love

Tougher than diamonds, rich like cream
Stronger and harder than a bad girl's dream
make a bad one good make a wrong one right
power of love that keeps you home at night

Chorus 1 :
You don't need money, don't take fame
Don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden and it's cruel sometimes
but it might just save your life
That's the power of love
That's the power of love

First time you feel it, it might make you sad
Next time you feel it it might make you mad
But you'll be glad baby when you've found
that's the power makes the world go'round

Chorus 2 :
And it don't take money, don't take fame
don't need no credit card to ride this train
It's strong and it's sudden it can be cruel sometimes
but it might just save your life

They say that all in love is fair
yeah, but you don't care
But you know what to do
when it gets hold of you
and with a little help from above
you feel the power of love
you feel the power of love
Can you feel it ?
Hmmm

Chorus 3 :
It don't take money and it don't take fame
don't need no credit card to ride this train
Tougher than diamonds and stronger than steel
you won't feel nothin' till you feel
you feel the power, just FEEL the power of love
That's the power, that's the power of love
You feel the power of love
you feel the power of love
feel the power of love feel the power of love

love,

I have been looking desparately for a boyfriend all my life.

He does not have to be perfect.(Only GOD is perfect!)

He must be handsome, loving & tender.
He must be intelligent, responsible & cultured.
He must possess a sense of humour, laugh at all my jokes, & smile all the time, even if I am giving him a hard time.
He must be healthy, wealthy & fun.
He must look upon me as his idol, by my side anytime I need him, but never bother me when I am busy with something & someone else.

The last but not the least, he must believe in GOD(plural, almighty, omnipotent, omnipresent, timeless) but definitely not belong to any religion!!!!!

Are you the right guy???

You say,

"An applepie doesn´t bake (by) itself.."

I say, mirracle can happen, if you experience IT.

The West coast has the sunshine
And the girls all get so tanned
I dig a french bikini on Hawaii island
Dolls by a palm tree in the sand

And I seen all kinds of girls
Yeah, but I couldn't wait to get back in the states
Back to the cutest girls in the world

I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California
I wish they all could be California girls

I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you wake up in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the soft starlight at night.
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there. I do not sleep.

Wise country girl, this Tyan, she listened well to her mama. Mama is always right like they say! And now this girl Tyan is tripping all over cyberspace in love, in love with the right man, my man Marick. Wow!

She don't want romancing Diablo, 'cause that's all she goin a get at ma ranch. Got to get some sleep now. It's been a loooong night!

Then to a suggestive movie
There's nothin' left to talk about,
Unless it's horizontally

Let's get physical, physical,
I wanna get physical, let's get into physical
Let me hear your body talk,
Your body talk, let me hear your body talk

I've been patient, I've been good,
Tried to keep my hands on the table
It's gettin' hard this holdin' back,
You know what I mean
I'm sure you'll understand my point of view,
We know each other mentally
You gotta know that you're bringin' out
The animal in me

Let's get animal, animal,
I wanna get animal, let's get into animal
Let me hear your body talk,
Your body talk, let me hear your body talk

Ignorance results in attachment.

Attachment brings suffering.

Physical forms are all attachments.

Hair symbolizes attachment & thus suffering.

Bullshit is a good example!!

Only after he has shaved all his hair & change his name to DYAN then he can attain some peace in life.

Seven Habits Revisited: Seven Unique Human Endowments by Stephen R. Covey

I see seven unique human endowments or capabilities associated with The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. One way to revisit The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People is to identify the unique human capability or endowment associated with each habit.

The primary human endowments are 1) self-awareness or self-knowledge; 2) imagination and conscience; and 3) volition or will power. And the secondary endowments are 4) an abundance mentality; 5) courage and consideration; and 6) creativity. The seventh endowment is self-renewal. These are all unique human endowments; animals don't possess any of them. But, they are all on a continuum of low to high levels.

Associated with Habit 1:
Be Proactive is the endowment of self-knowledge or self-awareness, an ability to choose your response (response-ability). At the low end of the continuum are the ineffective people who transfer responsibility by blaming themselves or others or their environment anything or anybody "out there" so that they are not responsible for results. At the upper end of the continuum toward increasing effectiveness is self-awareness: "I know my tendencies; I know the scripts or programs that are in me; but I am not those scripts. I can rewrite my scripts." You are aware that you are the creative force of your life. You are not the victim of conditions or conditioning. You can choose your response to any situation, to any person. So on the continuum; you go from being a victim to self-determining creative power through self-awareness of the power to choose your response to any condition or conditioning.

Associated with Habit 2:
Begin With the End In Mind is the endowment of imagination and conscience. If you are the programmer, write the program. Decide what you're going to do with the time, talent, and tools you have to work with: "Within my small circle of influence, I'm going to decide." At the low end of the continuum is the sense of futility about goals, purposes, and improvement efforts. After all, if you are totally a victim, if you are a product of what has happened to you, then what can you realistically do about anything? So you wander through life hoping things will turn out well, that the environment may be positive, so you can have your daily bread and maybe some positive fruits. At the other end is a sense of hope and purpose: "I have created the future in my mind. I can see it, and I can imagine what it will be like." Only people have the capability to imagine a new course of action and pursue it conscientiously.

Associated with Habit 3:
Put First Things First is the endowment of willpower. At the low end of the continuum is the ineffective, flaky life of floating and coasting, avoiding responsibility and taking the easy way out, exercising little initiative or willpower. And at the top end is a highly disciplined life that focuses heavily on the highly important but not necessarily urgent activities of life. It's a life of leverage and influence. On the continuum, you go from being driven by crises and having can't and won't power to being focused on the important but not necessarily urgent matters of your life and having the will power to realize them.

The exercise of primary human endowments empowers you to use the secondary endowments more effectively. We will now move from Primary to Secondary Endowments.

Associated with Habit 4:
Think Win-Win is the endowment of an abundance mentality. Why? Because your security comes from principles. Everything is seen through principles. When your wife makes a mistake, you're not accusatory. Why? Your security does not come from your wife living up to your expectations. Your security comes from within yourself. You're principle-centered. As people become increasingly principle-centered, they love to share recognition and power. Why? It's not a limited pie. It's an ever-enlarging pie. The basic paradigm and assumption about limited resources is flawed. The great capabilities of people are hardly even tapped. The abundance mentality produces more profit, power, and recognition for everybody. On the continuum, you go from a scarcity to an abundance mentality through feelings of intrinsic self-worth and a benevolent desire for mutual benefit.

Associated with Habit 5:
Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood is the endowment of courage balanced with consideration. Does it take courage and consideration to not be understood first? Think about it. Think about the problems you face. You tend to think, "You need to understand me, but you don't understand. I understand you, but you don't understand me. So let me tell you my story first, and then you can say what you want." And the other person says, "Okay, I'll try to understand." But the whole time they're "listening," they're preparing their reply. They are just pretending to listen, selective listening. When you show your home movies or tell some chapter of you autobiography "let me tell you my experience" the other person is tuned out unless he feels understood.

But what happens when you truly listen to another person? The whole relationship is transformed: "Someone started listening to me and they seemed to savor my words. They didn't agree or disagree, they just were listening and I felt as if they were seeing how I saw the world. And in that process, I found myself listening to myself. I started to feel a worth in myself."

The root cause of almost all people problems is the basic communication problem people do not listen with empathy. They listen from within their autobiography. They lack the skill and attitude of empathy. They need approval; they lack courage. The ability to listen first requires restraint, respect, and reverence. And the ability to make yourself understood requires courage and consideration. On the continuum, you go from fight and flight instincts to mature two-way communication where courage is balanced with consideration.

Associated with Habit 6:
Synergize is the endowment of creativity, the creation of something. How? By yourself? No, through two respectful minds communicating, producing solutions that are far better than what either originally proposed. Most negotiation is positional bargaining and results, at best, in compromise. But when you get into synergistic communication, you leave position. You understand basic underlying needs and interests and find solutions to satisfy them both. You get people thinking. And if you get the spirit of teamwork, you start to build a very powerful bond, an emotional bank account, and people are willing to subordinate their immediate wants for long-term relationships. With courage and consideration, communicate openly with each other and try to create win-win solutions. On the continuum, you go from defensive communication to compromise transactions to synergistic and creative alternatives and transformations.

Associated with Habit 7:
Sharpen the Saw is the unique endowment of continuous improvement or self-renewal to overcome entropy. If you don't constantly improve and renew yourself, you'll fall into entropy, closed systems and styles. At one end of the continuum is entropy (everything breaks down), and the other end is continuous improvement, innovation, and refinement. On the continuum, you go from a condition of entropy to a condition of continuous renewal, improvement, innovation, and refinement.

My hope in revisiting the Seven Habits is that you will use the seven unique human endowments associated with them to bless and benefit the lives of many other people.

"You don't have to fight your thoughts. Acknowledge and go beyond them."
Louise. L. Hay

"What we see depends mainly on what we look for." -- John Lubbock

Louise Hay, The Power Is Within You,
It is important for you to understand that your mind is not in control. You are in control of your mind. The Higher Self is in control. You can stop thinking those old thoughts. When your old thinking tries to come back and say, "It's so hard to change," take mental command. Say to your mind, "I now choose to believe it is becoming easy for me to make changes." you may have this conversation with your mind several times before it acknowledges that you are in charge and that you really mean what you say.

Imagine that your thoughts are like drops of water. One thought or one drop of water does not mean very much. As you repeat thoughts over and over, you first notice a stain on the carpet, then there is a little puddle, then a pond, and as these thoughts continue, they can become a lake, and finally an ocean. What kind of ocean are you creating? One that is polluted and toxic and unfit to swim in, or one that is crystal clear and blue and invites you to enjoy its refreshing waters?

People often tell me, "I can't stop thinking a thought." I always reply, "Yes, you can." Remember, how often have you refused to think a positive thought? You just have to tell your mind that that is what you are going to do. You have to make up your mind to stop thinking negatively. I'm not saying that you have to fight your thoughts when you want to change things. When the negative thoughts come up, simply say, "Thank you for sharing." In that way, you are not denying what is there, and you are not giving your power over to the negative thought. Tell yourself that you are not going to buy into the negativity anymore. You want to create another way of thinking. Again, you don't have to fight your thoughts. Acknowledge and go beyond them. Don't drown in a sea of your own negativity, when you can float on the ocean of life.

You are meant to be a wonderful, loving expression of life. Life is waiting for you to open up to it--to feel worthy of the good it holds for you. The wisdom and intelligence of the Universe is yours to use. Life is here to support you. Trust the Power within you to be there for you.

Most of us are seeking love & fulfillment in one way or another. Everyone wants inner peace, acceptance, satisfaction, & happiness. We all want genuine remedies to feelings of despair, alienation, helplessness, & grieving over some loss or disappointment.

There are different spiritual paths. Some of us want to know the unknowable; others want to know themselves; still others want to know everything. Some people want transformation; others want miracles. Many want to alleviate suffering, help others, & leave the world a better place.

But for some, there are only fantasies, delusions, self-indulgence, skepticism :- women, drugs, alcohol, parties.....

Today's Practice for Spiritual Success

Tuesday - The Law of Karma or Cause & Effect

Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us in like kind...what we sow is what we reap. And when we choose actions that bring happiness and success to others, the fruit of our karma is happiness and success.

I will put the Law of Karma into effect by making a commitment to take the following steps:

1) Today I will witness the choices I make in each moment. And in the mere witnessing of these choices, I will bring them into my conscious awareness. I will know that the best way to prepare for any moment in the future is to be fully conscious in the present.

2) Whenever I make a choice, I will ask myself two questions: "What are the consequences of this choice that I am making?" and "Will this choice bring fulfillment and happiness to me and also to those who are affected by this choice?"

3) I will then ask my heart for guidance and be guided by its message of comfort or discomfort. If the choice feels comfortable, I will plunge ahead with abandon. If the choice feels uncomfortable, I will pause and see the consequences of my action with my inner vision. This guidance will enable me to make spontaneously correct choices for myself and those around me.

Tuesday: Feeling for Peace

This is the day to experience the emotions of peace. The emotions of peace are compassion, understanding, and love

Compassion is the feeling of shared suffering. When you feel someone else's suffering, there is the birth of understanding.

Understanding is the knowledge that suffering is shared by everyone. When you understand that you aren't alone in your suffering, there is the birth of love.

When there is love there is the opportunity for peace.

As your practice, observe a stranger some time during your day. Silently say to yourself, "This person is just like me. Like me, this person has experienced joy and sorrow, despair and hope, fear and love. Like me, this person has people in his or her life who deeply care and love them. Like me, this person's life is impermanent and will one day end. This person's peace is as important as my peace. I want peace, harmony, laughter, and love in their life and the life of all beings."

Surrender is a very powerful tool to rid of one's everyday suffering.

Surrender is the inner transition from resistance to acceptance, from "no" to "yes".

When you surrender, your sense of "self" shifts from being identified with a reaction or mental judgment to being the space around the reaction or judgment. It is a shift from identification with form--the thought or the emotion--to being & recognizing yourself as that which has no form--spacious awareness.

By surrendering, you are not someone who is aware of the annoying object, the abject thought, feeling or experience. You are the awareness or consciousness in & by which those things appear. You do not demand that a situation, person, place, or event should satisfy you or make you happy. You observe & accept & even enjoy what is unfolding at that very moment.

Life is so amazing and sweet, even so unpredictable & ephemeral!

Tyan has just picked up a puppy in the dog hound. His name is Horseshi (previously Horseshit, before that Diablo).
Tyan lives happily here & after!
HaHaHa is no Tyan.
Tyan picks on the smart guys.
HaHaHa picks on the stupid ones.
But what is the difference?
All men stink.
We are all ONE!

Horseshi, catch!

Story retold:-

"Let me try to tell you a story.
No! I am retelling a story that I heard from someone years ago.

In the Far East, when one dies one goes to see Buddha.

In the Middle East, one goes to see Allah.

In the West, one goes to see St. Peters, who is Jesus Christ's representative in Heaven.

A man died (Horseshi's previous life) & went to Heaven & he was greeted by St. Peters at the Gate. St Peters told him he had a choice to go in or go down Hell.

He looked down:--there were parties, music, dancing, gorgeous girls, pretty young men, champagne, balloons, lobsters etc.etc.

"I worked hard all my life just to get those things. I even joined most religions to get there. I want to go there!"

St. Peters: " Are you sure? Many people do not have the choice!!!!"

The man looked down for a few minutes, & shouted out loud, all smiles: "Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes! Yes!"

Seconds later, he was in Hell.

And It is HELL!

Devils, fire, torture, nails, guillotins, screaming, moans..

What has happened? It's not what I have just seen from Heaven!" he cried out desparately!

"It's our marketing Department putting out a SHOW to attract more people to come here!" The DEVIL replied, lunging a dagger into his stomach.

Horseshi, catch IT!

Tyan died.

Good karma will always prevail.

That, and some wise words from Louise..

When the negative thoughts come up,
simply say:

"Thank you for sharing."

With Love, from Neverland

Dear Hahaha, whoever that might be,

we shared some fun with all,
we had some laughs,
gave same lectures,
sung some songs,
dispensed some words of wisdom,

I do not wish to participate in this ego thing,
on this particular blog,

Wish you all love, peace, and some good spiritual vibrations,

Apology.

Bad habbit! Bad karma!

No more than two exclamation marks from now on.

Even a dog can learn.

...Puppy..

It was a puppy!

Apology again!

It is all due to technological ignorance.

Right now anyone can use any E-mail address to post anything with thousands of different "names" .

Or

Use different E-mail addresses to post everything using the same name.

To register is not the solution, because it defeats the purpose of "blogging".

Why not a simple solution, like allowing only one E-mail address with only one user name, just like Yahoo has been doing from day one?

and;
Deepak Chopra's ´The Path to Love´

"You were created to be completely loved and completely lovable for your whole life."

All of us need to believe that we are loved and lovable. We began life with confidence on both points, bathed in a mother's love and swaddled in our own innocence. Love was never in question, but over time our certainty clouded. When you look at yourself today, can you still make the two statements every infant could if it had the words?

I am completely loved.
I am completely lovable.

Few people can, for looking at yourself honestly you see flaws that make you less than completely lovable and less than perfectly loved. In many ways this seems right to you, for perfect love is supposedly not of this world. Yet in a deeper sense, what you call flaws are really just the scars of hurts and wounds accumulated over a lifetime. When you look in the mirror, you think you are looking at yourself realistically, but your mirror doesn't reveal the truth that endures despite all hurt:

You were created to be completely loved and completely lovable for your whole life.

In a way it is amazing that you do not realize this, because underneath everything you think and feel, innocence is still intact. Time cannot blemish your essence, your portion of spirit. But if you lose sight of this essence, you will mistake yourself for your experiences, and there is no doubt that experience can do much to obliterate love. In an often hostile and brutal world, maintaining innocence seems impossible. Therefore, you find yourself experiencing only so much love and only so much lovability.

This can change.

You know that you have fully experienced love when you turn into love--that is the spiritual goal of life.

Not many people find the spiritual goal of life. The aching need created by lack of love can only be filled by learning anew to love and be loved. All of us must discover for ourselves that love is a force as real as gravity, and that being upheld in love every day, every hour, every minute is not a fantasy-it is intended as our natural state.

first let me thank you for writing the cwg books. i have been searching my entire life for answers. not finding any, of course, until cwg one. when i read your book it just rang true in my heart...thank you...on to the question...

i do have thing that i do not understand. i understand when you speak of no right or wrong...that the universe answers in kind..you plant good seeds you will get good back..there is my problem...i have lived my entire life adhering to the golden rule...i have treated without exception everyone i have come into contact like i would want to be treated however it seems the people that i have had in my life has never heard of the golden rule.

i have suffered alot of abuse in my life...physcial, mental, verbal..just let me say this.. it has not been good..by the people that i have loved most in my life...now that i am in my early fifties...with not to many years ahead...i am beginning to think that that no matter how good of a person you are and how you try to help others it doesn't matter...what you get back from them is what you get good or bad..in my case mostly bad...i have tried to change and not be giving and caring but it was to difficult for me i love being kind to people helping whenever i can and giving what i can...

believe me it is not that i want paid back that is the furtherst thing from my mind...what i would like is love.. kindness..appreciation...some peace. i know in the cwg books it says when you want something to happen..that i can make it happen...god knows i have tried...i hope this makes some sense it is hard to put my feelings into words...i love god with all that is in me and i know that he watches over me...i hope he sees just how tried i am....also i wanted to say i love your web site..i log on to it every day to listen to you and the excerpts from cwg..thanks again for all you have done...

Neale's Response:
My dear Laura….I hear your words of sadness and my heart goes out to you in fullness and in deep gratitude for all you have done for others in your life.

When I was a young man all I received on my report card were A’s in English and in Composition, etc. Then the counselor in my high school decided that I belonged in an advanced class, because I was so far ahead of the students in my own group. So I was placed, during my sophomore year, in College English Lit. All the other kids were seniors, except for two juniors. I was the only sophomore.

When my grades came, I got a C—the first grade under an A I ever got in Language Arts. I went to my mom complaining about how I never would be getting such a bad grade if I had been kept in a lower class, a class for kids my age. My mom said something to me then that I never forgot, Laura—and I find myself wanting to repeat it to you now…

“To the best students…go the most difficult lessons.”

Laura, difficult as it may be to accomplish this—we are all humans, after all—try not to focus on all the difficult challenges you have faced and the bad things that have happened to you, and look instead that your own choice to continue to be loving to others in the face of it all. This says more about you and Who You Are than one hundred thousand good days that could come your way.

I know that all you want in your life now is a little love and a little peace. But you have that already. It could not come through you to others if it was not within you. If you will look at the love that you give others, you will see yourself as having that. Once you change your perspective about this, you will see others sending their love to you in very unexpected ways.

Finally, say this little affirmation, Laura, 21 times each morning and 21 times each evening. Say it silently in the quiet of your mind: “All the love I could ever want is coming to me now. Thank you, God.”

I am so glad that you have written to me, my friend. God bless you as you continue your remarkable journey of dispensing love and caring to those whose lives you touch.

You inspire me!

Neale.

Making Peace With Your Past
by Harold Bloomfield, M.D.
http://www.haroldbloomfield.com/books/mpwyp.html

Through Dr. Bloomfield’s dynamic, psychospiritual approach, confusion is replaced by wisdom, bitterness by gratitude, heavy burdens by a lightness of being. You will finally be able to put the past to blessed rest and create the future you always dreamed of -- and deserve.
Do you...

Harbor guilt, gripes, or grudges from past relationships?
Feel plagued by thoughts like “If only I had..” or “I wish I didn’t . . .”?
Think “Oh, no, not again!” when personal problems arise?
Feel ashamed of things you've done?
Wish you could apologize to someone you've wronged and be forgiven?
Feel victimized by past experiences?
Wish you could set the record straight -- and finally be vindicated?
Wonder why life hasn't turned out the way you wanted?
Feel anxious or depressed about your future?
Seem to be less happy as time goes by?
If you answered yes to even one of these questions, you've come to the right place. It's time to make peace with your past.

The past lives on in everything you think, feel, say, and do. Medical studies show that adults who've had adverse childhood experiences are much more vulnerable to life-threatening illnesses such as cancer and heart disease. But you can heal the pain of the past and create a vibrant, joyful future.

With the practical, scientifically proven techniques in this book, eminent psychological educator Harold Bloomfield, M.D., will help you:

Break the shackles of shame -- and feel your true worth
Stop the slow acid drip of regret -- and feel truly grateful.
Resolve the grief that will not end.
Heal the not-so-obvious wounds of love and sex.
Forgive and be forgiven.
Reawaken to the magic and fun of being alive.
Rediscover the passion to live your highest destiny.

Today's Practice for Spiritual Success

Wednesday - The Law of Least Effort

Nature's intelligence functions with effortless ease...with carefreeness, harmony, and love. And when we harness the forces of harmony, joy, and love, we create success and good fortune with effortless ease.

I will put the Law of Least Effort into effect by making a commitment to take the following steps:

1) I will practice acceptance. Today I will accept people, situations, circumstances, and events as they occur. I will know that this moment is as it should be, because the whole universe is as it should be. I will not struggle against the whole universe by struggling against this moment. My acceptance is total and complete. I accept things as they are this moment, not as I wish they were.

2) Having accepted things as they are, I will take responsibility for my situation and for all those events I see as problems. I know that taking responsibility means not blaming anyone or anything for my situation (and this includes myself.) I also know that every problem is an opportunity in disguise, and this alertness to opportunities allows me to take this moment and transform it into a greater benefit.

Wednesday: Speaking for Peace

Today, the purpose of speaking is to create happiness in the listener. Have this intention: Today every word I utter will be chosen consciously. I will refrain from complaints, condemnation, and criticism.
Your practice is to do at least one of the following:
Tell someone how much you appreciate them.
Express genuine gratitude to those who have helped and loved you.
Offer healing or nurturing words to someone who needs them.
Show respect to someone whose respect you value.
If you find that you are reacting negatively to anyone, in a way that isn’t peaceful, refrain from speaking and keep silent. Wait to speak until you feel centered and calm, and then speak with respect.

Dear Tyan,
or HaHaHa,

I would like to share some (spirit) uplifting
words (or was it experience?) as found on the
Blog of, as I have read also from Polish roots,

Dear Neale...

I'm an Italian boy, i read your CWD-books (I-II-III) and they are wondefoul! But i've got a big problem...I expect always something from the persons who I love...and so i can't fully enjoy your love...i know that's no good for me but i don't know how to change, how to find happiness into me and not into others, how to thank others whithout expecting nothing...because all my life i found happiness into others...can you give me an advice that help me to change? Thank you very much and sorry for my very bad english..i'm italian and i've got a lot of problem with English...

THANK YOU!

Neale's Response:
My Dear Stefano...Do not worry about your English. It is good enough to be understood by all of us. And all of us, at one time or another, have had the same problem.

It is the biggest challenge in life, I think, to learn fully about love—much less to experience it. In the end, love---real love---wants nothing. That is because real love NEEDS nothing, so what could it possibly want?

The difficulty is in understanding Who We Really Are. When we fully identify with our Real Selves, we no longer have the problem you are talking about here. But until we understand, truly, Who and What We Really Are, we imagine that we are something quite a bit less. We imagine that we are less than Divine, and that there is something we need.

This is an illusion. It is the First Illusion of Humans. (Please read Communion with God.) It is a very powerful illusion --- and it is not real. What makes it not real is the fact that we are One with God. If we were not One with God, the experience of Need would be very real. But we ARE One with God, and God needs nothing at all. Therefore, WE need nothing at all, and the idea that we do is an illusion.

Only when we understand that there is nothing that we need to be truly happy can we begin to love another in the highest way, in the highest sense. Only then can we see that the relationship of Love was given to us as a gift, not so that we may RECEIVE something, but so that we may GIVE something. For it is in the GIVING of Who We Really Are that we experience it.

And the purpose of all of Life is exactly that: to experience Who We Really Are.

God has created Life so that God may experience Itself.

That simple and single sentence explains it all. It makes everything really very easy to understand. Now, Stefano, here is how to step out of the Illusion of Need, and to recreate Love in a way that allows you to experience it without expecting anything from your beloved:

Make EVERYONE your beloved.

Make every ONE and every THING your beloved.

Go through Life with one objective and one purpose only: to give love to everything and everyone. If you do this, you will be so happy by the end of one week that everyone will think you are on drugs. They will wonder what has happened to you, what you are “taking” that is making you so crazy.

Loving everyone and everything may not be as easy as it sounds. It will require you to let go of every one of your judgments. You will have to see everyone and everything as beautiful. I always like to say, “You will have to learn to love asparagus.” I always think that if you can learn to love asparagus, or over-cooked spinach, you can love anything.

Do you know what I mean?

So practice with yourself. That is a good place to begin. In fact, that is the ONLY place you can begin. Because if you cannot love yourself, utterly and completely, you cannot love anyone or anything else. All failure to love another, fully and freely, is nothing more than a form of self-loathing. Only when we stop loathing ourselves, or any PART of ourselves, can we begin to stop loathing another.

The end of self-loathing begins with self-acceptance. We must look at ourselves completely and accept ourselves absolutely. We must embrace every bit of ourselves, even our dark side, even our selfish side, even our “needy” side, even our angry and violent side. Only love can heal these wounds. Only love can make them go away. What you resist, persists. What you look at disappears. It ceases to have its illusory form.

So begin your journey to non-expecting love by looking at your SELF in the mirror, and stop expecting things from your SELF. That is the first step. It is the biggest step.

Now the only way that you will ever be able to stop expecting things from your Self is to stop imaging that there is someone ELSE, someone higher than you, someone above you (such as a parent, or God), who has a right to expect things from YOU.

You see, Stefano, it is our idea that God expects things from us --- things that are so huge and so big that we cannot possibly give those things to Him --- that sets up the dynamic of all human relationships. This is what we call Love. We have called Expectation “love” because we have been taught that this is what Love is. Every religion on the planet tells us this. Love EXPECTS THINGS. Doesn’t God? And isn't it said that God loves us?

So there you have it. In order to stop expecting things from the people you love, you are going to have to stop imagining a God who expects things from you.

More of this can be found, Stefano, in my new book, WHAT GOD WANTS. I want to strongly suggest that you read that. It will be published in March, and you may pre-order it from Amazon.com.

So stand in front of that mirror, Stefano, and say to yourself, “I love you. I see Who You Really Are, and I love you without expectation. I accept you as a thing of Perfection and Beauty, just exactly the way you are.”

This is how God accepts you, Stefano. In truth, this is how God accepts allof us. And never let anyone ever tell you anything different.

Now, after doing this Mirror Exercise for three or four weeks, you are ready to go out and try it with the world. What you will be doing is MAKING THE WORLD YOUR MIRROR. Simply give to the world the Love you are so wanting to give to yourself. Give your love to everyone and everything. Soon, you will feel love starting to come back to you.

Expect nothing, and give everything, and watch yourself falling in love, for the first time, without expectation. It will be the wonder of your life. And you will become the Wonder in everyone else’s life. You will be FULL of wonder. And everyone will say that you are WONDER-FULL.

And this will be not a new thing that is true about you, but something that has been true about you from the very beginning --- yet something you forgot, until now.

Spend your time not looking for love, but looking for someone who is looking for love (that means everyone, Stefano!). Then give them all the love for which they are looking. As you give, so shall you receive.

You may not receive love back from that particular person, but you will receive it from the universe. You cannot WANT to receive love back from that particular person, or you are not truly loving them without expectation. You see?

So the trick is to love without requiring anything in return from that particular person.

This does not mean, by the way, that we should stay in abusive relationships, or remain in an exclusive relationship with someone that we love without getting anything back. If this is happening to you, you must then change the nature of your relationship of love, and move far enough away, in the physical sense, that it no longer demands of you any sort of exclusivity -- which means limitation. Because if you are limited to loving someone who does not know how to love you, you will never experience being loved. You deserve that experience, Stefano. We all do. This is not the same as expecting something in return. This is simply creating life in a way that allows what goes around to come around. If you have closed yourself in to a relationship that stops your own love from coming back to you, open up that relationship by creating space within it for you to receive your own love back through the world, and the other people, around you.

This doesn't mean that you stop loving the person you have been with. Nor does it mean that you are loving with expectation. It merely means that, as you continue to love the person you have been with, you decide not to LIMIT your love to that person by continuing to be in a closed, exclusive relationship. It means not that you stop loving, but that you CHANGE THE NATURE OF YOUR RELATIONSHIP so that you may love others we well, and perhaps even find another through whom your own love for the world can flow back to you!

Non-expectation is the key, Stefano. You are right. And you can get there. We all can get there. Yet the journey is challenging. So let us not attempt to go there alone. I will go with you, Stefano. And you come with me on my journey. We will walk together, side by side, back home. You and me and all the rest of us. All of humanity, yes?

Love….Neale.

SELF-HONESTY: J. Krishnamurti

"The first thing to understand is that you must be absolutely
frank . . . If you are seeking security, you will find it in
philosophy, in religions, traditions, authority; but if you
desire to understand life, in which there is no security,
comfort, then there is enduring freedom . . . It is no measure
of health to be well adjusted to a profoundly sick society."

Nice quote,
though..

The Law of Karma or Cause & Effect

Hi Marek,
When you rise above the opposites, any/every choice you make for today, and everyday - will be the right one (won :)

You are a bright spirit of mirth and depth!

"That Don't Impress Me Much"

I've known a few guys who thought they were pretty smart
But you've got being right down to an art
You think you're a genius-you drive me up the wall
You're a regular original, a know-it-all
Oh-oo-oh, you think you're special
Oh-oo-oh, you think you're something else

Okay, so you're a rocket scientist
That don't impress me much
So you got the brain but have you got the touch
Don't get me wrong, yeah I think you're alright
But that won't keep me warm in the middle of the night
That don't impress me much

I never knew a guy who carried a mirror in his pocket
And a comb up his sleeve-just in case
And all that extra hold gel in your hair oughtta lock it
'Cause Heaven forbid it should fall outta place

Oh-oo-oh, you think you're special
Oh-oo-oh, you think you're something else

Okay, so you're Brad Pitt
That don't impress me much
So you got the looks but have you got the touch
Don't get me wrong, yeah I think you're alright
But that won't keep me warm in the middle of the night
That don't impress me much

You're one of those guys who likes to shine his machine
You make me take off my shoes before you let me get in
I can't believe you kiss your car good night
C'mon baby tell me-you must be jokin', right!

Oh-oo-oh, you think you're special
Oh-oo-oh, you think you're something else

Okay, so you've got a car
That don't impress me much
So you got the moves but have you got the touch
Don't get me wrong, yeah I think you're alright
But that won't keep me warm in the middle of the night

That don't impress me much
You think you're cool but have you got the touch
Don't get me wrong, yeah I think you're alright
But that won't keep me warm on the long, cold, lonely night
That don't impress me much

Okay, so what do you think you're Elvis or something...
Whatever
That don't impress me

HaHaHa/Tyan:

You are implicitly demonstrating your unreserved love for your man D. D has had some real personal effects you, it is quite clear. You know what, cyber damsel, in the last week alone, 5 more natural beauties have offered their loves to Big D. The word does get around, you know. Size does matter, size of heart, size love, bold and sensitive, forgiving and giving!

Bid D, lover extraordinaire, ladies' man, envy of many a man who has tried to emulate Big D and simply failed. Big D is simply big, big in more ways than two, big at heart, big at love and big there too.

Love Sister, hope you find a real boyfriend, soon. But it sure won't be Big D. You are too pure and too naive and too schooled for your man D. Am out!

Peace, passion and compassion.

A guy walks up to a Zen Master & asks, "Is there life after death?"
The Zen Master says, "How should I know?"
The guy replies indignantly, "Because you are a Zen Master!"

And this parrot keeps repeating;--

"BIG D, BIG D,.................."

"BIG D, BIG D,.................."

"BIG D, BIG D,.................."

Tyan is Tyan.

HaHaHa is HaHaHa.

But of course we are all ONE.

To share with you all, from my journal 20 years ago:-

Generally accepted goals of mankind(according to UN!):-
--meeting basic needs, improving human health, supporting a natural world that can sustain humankind,
--creating jobs & reducing pressure on the world & the natural ecosystems,
--that we control consumption rather than allow consumption to control us.

My interpretation:--
1.) "Find work worth doing.
Form relationships that is lasting.
Build community to improve the quality of life.
Make the world a better place to live in."
2.) "Feel good. Have fun. Enjoy. Be happy."

THE SENSES
Feel good--sharpen & improve on your senses & physical skills; be really conscious of the pleasures that can be transmitted from all your senses to your inner self:--be aware of the sunset & the sound of the waves while you are walking bare-footed on the beach & the smell of the sea & the taste of the seawater.

Horseshi seems to stay at this level forever. That is why he is always our adorable pet!!

THE MIND
Have fun--work on a Zen koan, tell a joke, listen to a joke, work on a joke--mindfulness & intelligence & problem-solving. Have fun on your job & whatever you are doing right now & at this moment!

THE HEART
Enjoy--have compassion & loving-care--enjoy the interconnectedness & the karma; help yourself help others. Be aware of your Buddha-nature & help others to be aware of their Buddha-nature. Everyone can be a Buddha. You know that!! Right??!!Take care of your environment. Make the world a better place to live in.

THE SOUL
Be happy--to attain enlightenment & Buddhahood through meditation; be ONENESS with BUDDHA, GOD, the Universe & the ten thousand things.

We have to accept the fact that the ten thousand things--IT(including our physical bodies) are impermanent & empty!!
Don't suffer because of IT!
Don't suffer for IT!
Don't suffer with IT!
IT is still here! Just be aware of IT!!!

If only Horseshi learns!!

Peace, love, passion.

What in the World Are You Doing? by Chris Widener (excerpted from Jim Rohn's Twelfth Pillar of Success: Legacy, Part Three of the Jim Rohn One-Year Success Plan)
Hi there, Chris Widener here.

This week I want to talk with you about leaving an impact legacy. "What is an impact legacy?" you may ask. It is how you impact people and the world around you. You see, many people glide through life and do not make much of an impact. That is unfortunate. Others though, those driven by a purpose and passion for living, are continually making the world a better place and making an impact wherever they go. That's what I believe you want to do.

In order to help you reflect upon this this week, I want to ask you a question: What in the world are you doing?

Here is the typical life - typical, though not everybody does it this way. But for the most part, people's lives generally go something like this:

You're born
You eat and sleep
You play with toys
You go to school
You play little league
You go to school
You learn to drive
You go to school
You leave high school
You go to more school, but you pay for it now
You get a job
You get married
You buy a house
You have kids
You watch your kids eat, sleep, play and go to school
You work, work, and work
You retire
You die

That's the basic life, isn't it? I know there is more to it, but that is about it for most people.

Here is that question again: What in the world are you doing?

I mean, what are you doing besides the typical "enjoying yourself while you are waiting to die" scenario? What kind of impact are you making?

What I believe sets the successful apart is that they don't just live the average life. They don't just pass time. They make an impact. They have something compelling in their life that drives them - something that gives them an answer when they are asked that question: What in the world are you doing?

I'm helping children.

I'm creating a business that supports many families.

I lead a church.

I am defending our liberties.

I am raising great children.

I'm teaching others to improve their lives.

I help people have fun.

I create memories for people.

In other words, successful people always come down to this:

I make an impact and help other people by (fill in your purpose here).

What in the world are you doing?

If you want to be successful, you need to be able to answer that by describing how you help others. Because if you aren't helping others - if you aren't making an impact - you are just taking up space, eating food and waiting to die.

Here's the question for you to answer this week and what to do with your answer:

What in the world are you doing?

If you know, then you are good to go - live it and make an impact!

If you don't know, then maybe you need to reflect on what you are doing, what your life is about, and how you can explode the mundane bubble you may be living in!

The world needs impact makers - so live to be one!

Have a great week!
Chris

Why do you want to make an impact??

Apparently you think you are real important!

Bush makes a big impact, with thousands of collateral damages.

Hurricane Rita made a great impact. The earthquake in Pakistan made a real impact!

Why not be just an autumn breeze, bringing warmth & bliss to the average soul!?

What we all need is some empty space in our mind so that we can meditate & enjoy the ONENESS with the Universe & the ten thousand sentient beings!

The Law of cause & effect will take care of itself.

Don't ever try to impact on others.

Hitler did!

Stalin did.

I have gone through the following stages:-

A baby------I am. Therefore I exist.(If I am not
comfortable, I cry!).

A child-----I learn. Therefore I exist.(I am real
curious!).

A teenager--I experience. Therefore I exist.(It is an exciting world! I want to try everything!!!).

An adult----I grow. I achieve. Therefore I exist.(I am my own destiny!!)

A fourtyish-I meditate. Therefore I exist.(Mid-age crisis???-------I am not sure about life anymore!!)

[When I was in my late fourties, I found out I was able to talk to my pet rock, flowers, birds, the ocean, the sky, and everybody that is(was) alive now or ever; all except for the military muslims & the evangelicals, who I cannot stand for more than a minute & who think of themsevlves & Heaven, (which may or may not exist) all the time.]

An old spinster--I know. Therefore I exist.(Since I cannot use all my other sense doors to achieve happiness--physical pleasure--like when I was young any more--I better find some mental, intellectual, spiritual, and
other ways of keeping me going!!!!!!)

That's when I finally find GOD.

Old man talks about wisdom. Yet he is always referred to as a stupid old fool!

Why is that so???????????????????????

Then I realize Stupidity & Intelligence are two sides of the same coin. No matter how many times you flip it, it is still 50-50 you will turn out stupid.

Only GOD is perfect!!!!

Tyan! Tyan! Tyan!

Here! Here! Here!

Here you go again with that coin thing.

So, tell me my fair lassie, when you place that coin in front of that mirror you previously referred to, which side reflects (or represents) your face? Just curios! You may ponder this question, rhetorically! Am out!

D.

A guy walks up to a Zen Master & asks, "Is there life after death?"
The Zen Master says, "How should I know?"
The guy replies indignantly, "Because you are a Zen Master!"
"Yes," says the Zen Master, "but not a dead one!"

And this parrot keeps repeating;--

"BIG D, BIG D,.................."

"BIG D, BIG D,.................."

"BIG D, BIG D,.................."

"BIG D, BIG D,.................."

"BIG D, BIG D,.................."

"BIG D, BIG D,.................."

1. Leaving a Legacy - Principles to Live By by Jim Rohn (excerpted from Jim Rohn's Twelfth Pillar of Success: Legacy, Part Two of the Jim Rohn One-Year Success Plan)

You know me, I am a philosopher. I love principles. Yes, actions are great and I talk about them regularly, but the important stuff is what lies underneath--the principles.

Here are what I consider to be the principles that we must commit to if we are to leave the legacy we desire:

1. Life is best lived in service to others. This doesn't mean that we do not strive for the best for ourselves. It does mean that in all things we serve other people, including our family, co-workers and friends.

2. Consider others' interests as important as your own. Much of the world suffers simply because people consider only their own interests. People are looking out for number one, but the way to leave a legacy is to also look out for others.

3. Love your neighbor even if you don't like him. It is interesting that Jesus told us to love others. But he never tells us to like them. Liking people has to do with emotions. Loving people has to do with actions. And what you will find is that when you love them and do good by them, you will more often than not begin to like them.

4. Maintain integrity at all costs. There are very few things you take to the grave with you. The number one thing is your reputation and good name. When people remember you, you want them to think, "She was the most honest person I knew. What integrity." There are always going to be temptations to cut corners and break your integrity. Do not do it. Do what is right all of the time, no matter what the cost.

5. You must risk in order to gain. In just about every area of life you must risk in order to gain the reward. In love, you must risk rejection in order to ask that person out for the first time. In investing you must place your capital at risk in the market in order to receive the prize of a growing bank account. When we risk, we gain. And when we gain, we have more to leave for others.

6. You reap what you sow. In fact, you always reap more than you sow--you plant a seed and reap a bushel. What you give you get. What you put into the ground then grows out of the ground. If you give love you will receive love. If you give time, you will gain time. It is one of the truest laws of the universe. Decide what you want out of life and then begin to sow it.

7. Hard work is never a waste. No one will say, "It is too bad he was such a good, hard worker." But if you aren't they will surely say, "It's too bad he was so lazy - he could have been so much more!" Hard work will leave a grand legacy. Give it your all on your trip around the earth. You will do a lot of good and leave a terrific legacy.

8. Don't give up when you fail. Imagine what legacies would have never existed if someone had given up. How many thriving businesses would have been shut down if they quit at their first failure? Everyone fails. It is a fact of life. But those who succeed are those who do not give up when they fail. They keep going and build a successful life - and a legacy.

9. Don't ever stop in your pursuit of a legacy. Many people have accomplished tremendous things later on in life. There is never a time to stop in your pursuit of a legacy. Sometimes older people will say, "I am 65. I'll never change." That won't build a great life! No, there is always time to do more and achieve more, to help more and serve more, to teach more and to learn more. Keep going and growing that legacy!

These are core principles to live by if you want to become the kind of person who leaves a lasting legacy.

Until next week, let's do something remarkable!
Jim Rohn

T,

These are guidelines for the Saints, like Mother Theresa & Gandhi, Jesus Christ....(They suffer with the poor, remember!?)

What really turns me off are those self-grandarealized guys, out of STUPIDITY, keep on feeding the ten thousand sentient beings of ingenuine methods & things to lead to their salvation, & the ten thousand sentient beings, out of their IGNORANCE, keep on feeding the gurus with 10% of their pity earnings to keep them weathy & in power.

And they suffer.

The gurus suffer too!

Because we are all ONE!!

oh..,
in that case..

then it´s alrighty then!,

With love, passion,
Ps. for your next homework assignement,
look up the words suffer and compassion..

Believe those who are seeking the truth. Doubt those who find it.

The Four Vows
(The paradoxical nature of the Four Vows is in your going to do the impossible--Traditional translation):-
Sentient Beings are numberless; I vow to save them.
Desires are inehaustible; I vow to put an end to them.
The Dharmas are boundless; I vow to master them.
The Budha Way is unsurpassable; I vow to attain it.

How do you save the ten thousand sentient beings? If you start with your dualistic preconception of the world (the world of differentiation & discrimination--that you are either black or white, good or evil, you are either with ME or with them) then you will never solve the problem--& that is bush's problem & he single-handedly brought it into this world, & what is amazing is that over 50% of Americans approved of IT!!!

The world of dualities is not a reality & is the main cause of mankind's sufferingss.

There are two ways to appreciate the nondual reality:-
{i} Within oneself is everything in the universe.
{ii} To see oneself as part of everything in the universe.
There is not "either YOU or ME; good & evil; bush & saddam", there is us, the ONENESS, the universe, GOD, Buddha, Allah, Mother Theresa, the Pope, Dalai Lama, MOM, ME & the last but not the least, YOU...

So back to our FOUR VOWS, if you save one, you save all. You've started KARMA & since everything & everybody & the universe are all interconnected, the whole is saved. Yet if you miss one, you miss all.

See how absurdity dualistic view is!! It ruined so many lives in history that I don't want to think of IT!

If you hold the dualistic view of the world, you will never know!
If you accept the non-dual reality, then everything is poosible!!

Life is desire. Life is skepticism.

Desire is life. Skepticism is life.

Every second & every minute part of us die. In a year 95% of all our cells will be replaced with new ones.

Every second thousands of babies are born & thousands die, either because of old age, of illness, or of war, esp. the STUPID Bush War....................

Dying & rebirth is a natural phenomenon.

IT is totally unavoidable. IT is reality!

But suffering in life is totally optional.

STUPIDITY & IGNORANCE are the mother of suffering!!

Mr. Chopra's mission is to rid of all IGNORANCE on earth!!

Horseshi. catch!

To HaHaHa,

You really grow, physically, mentally, intellectually, spiritually.

Hope everybody does!!

Visit me in Canada next time.

Let's hope horsshi learn.

T.

Talking about Smurfs, I have started collecting them since the 1980's. Tens of them.

We should share our collections some time.

Tyan,

Marek's love vibrations!

To you with compassion!

My Canadian Lassie, please allow me the liberty to intrude your psycological armor to advise you accordingly: Thou shall remain single for an inordinate period of time unless thou learn to relax and lighten up.

Men get scared of women who have been bred to think in a hard-and-fast way and women who appear to be closed-minded. If you are ever going to loose your single (virginal) status, you need to offer an open mind to the world around you. Divest thyself from inculcated tradtional hang-ups. It's a hell of a lot more fun when you yield yourself to your natural instincts, devoid of handed-down non-sense.

So long,

Big D.

P.S. I do not have plans to visit Canada soon. I will be in Rio next week and will be surounded by a bevy of beauties. It's my way. And I always enjoy doing it my way, no other way will work!

Peace!

Peace and best wishes to you, my forlorn Canadian lassie.

Pssst... P.I.M.P. heavy D., ;)

Why must our children play in the streets,
broken hearts and faded dreams,
listen up to everyone that you meet,
don't you worry, it could be so sweet,
Just look to the rainbow, you will see
sun will shine till eternity,
I've done for much love in my heart,
No-one can tear it apart,
Yeah,

Feel the love generation,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
Feel the love generation,
C'mon c'mon c'mon c'mon yeah,

(whistling.....)

Feel the love generation,
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
Feel the love generation,
Ooohhh yeah-yeah,

Don't worry about a thing,
it's gonna be alright,
Don't worry about a thing,
it's gonna be alright,
Don't worry about a thing,
it's gonna be alright,
Gonna be, gonna, gonna, gonna be alright,

Why must our children play in the streets,
broken hearts and faded dreams,
listen up to everyone that you meet,
don't you worry, it could be so sweet,
Just look to the rainbow, you will see
sun will shine till eternity,
I've done for much love in my heart,
No-one can tear it apart,
Yeah,

(whistling.....)

Marek,

Hey buddy,

I have been away from computers, cell phones and television for a few days now, and am liking it. But it means that I have some catching up to do. That can wait, hey what's the rush?

Here, I am momentarily using a computer, compliments of this fine hotel which has it conveniently placed in their main lobby.

Here the temp ranges from 28 to 30 degrees celsius, daily. The ladies (mine included) wear bikinis that are described as toothpicks, here. Hey bud, this is a ladies man's paradise. Wish you were here, bra. You would have to control your manly instincts with these bombshells! Next time, my man, we have to make arrangements to be here. Deepak and ashok (spelling?) will be in Puerto Rico Dec. 8-11, 2005. There is a 90% possibility that I will be there with my love team!

Tiana is here. This girl is talking as if she is in love. How naive this lassie is! Big D is not quite ready to settle for the same applepie each n..ht! She is a 20 on this 1-10 scale!
Na Zdrowie!

Love vibrations from Rio.

Big D.

Do not take life's experiences too seriously.
Above all, do not let them hurt you,
for in reality they are nothing but dream experiences . . .

If circumstances are bad
and you have to bear them,
do not make them part of yourself.
play your part in life,
but never forget that it is only a role.
-Paramahansa Yogananda

´Tiana is here. This girl is talking as if she is in love. How naive this lassie is! Big D is not quite ready to settle for the same applepie each n..ht! She is a 20 on this 1-10 scale!
Na Zdrowie!´

brazilera´s...ahh..
muito amore..
keep an eye on your wallet, dude,

Love, Passion,
Ps. Don´t forget to make some nice pictures and put them on a blog, D., ;)
Ps. ´How naive this lassie is!´
no, she just impressed by your great..;)
Ps. ´She is a 20 on this 1-10 scale!´
Don´t settle for anything less than a 10 to the tenth, and if the girl can´t bake you a cheesecake too, throw the fishie back in, D,
Ps. Enjoy! ;)
WITH PASSION!!!!
