Harb, one of my companions, in the above mentioned stories was Rakesh 'Bawa' (read Mawa). That room in the dark and dingy by-lane had a blue door.
Rahul,
I am sure those days will come again at least for you. Winds of reason will once again give place to the epidemic of abnormalcy.
Speaking from experience,
Harb
hello everyone from central europe. i am in prague, a beautiful city, and the snow is filtering down slowy through the early night sky. although i am slowly picking up phrases, being in a place where i do not speak the language is very frustrating to me. it leads me to pose the question, why are we separated by language? in our quest for peace and understanding, a global humanity, we have this communication barrier that divides us. why? the story of babel will have us believe that we are under the influence of a spiteful god, and that it is our fault that the stones have fallen around us. i don't belive that, yet i am still left wondering why... any thoughts?
Děkujeme Vám předem...

Heather, a very special thanks to you; don't ask me why.
Happy Anniversary Mallika and Sumant
Hello OneGirlManyIdeas,
The reason we have different languages was to seperate and allow a variety of development to take place. A more diversified experiment.
Each group evolved in it's own unique way. Now there is a variety of fruit that when all are brought back together will make for quite a harvest. Sort of like taking the best genes from each group and combining them together.
At least that is one perspective. That it was the purpose of social experimentation. Multiple petri dishes if you will, to develop a hybrid culture of thought and skills.
Hello to you OGMI,
Oh, do stay warm and enjoy your sojourn in Europe!
I think the answer to your question - is contained in your moniker.
In the theme of unity - there is only One. From the One - comes diversity, and many languages and many ideas.
It is when one steps 'outside' beliefs, opinions, even language, that Wholeness is fully experienced. It resides in the Heart, which transcended all languages, where you can even be with another, and rest comfortably in this Truth.
I delight in diversity of languages and cultures. The earth is so amazing in the beauty of this. Perhaps you will learn more of the language, and communication will become easier!
I hope you can write again soon, and let us know more about your travels!
Love, Kate
The Truth Hammer - A Metaphor – and more
He was God Like, his muscles rippled with every movement; in his hand was a great hammer.
For this One had the inner strength to wield it, and rightfully so it had the power to turn mountains to dust.
He stepped down from the air above and with rapid steps he traversed a distance, the wind flowed through his hair which looked like the mane of a galloping horse. To the first corner of the earth he moved with great speed, for his action was to be quick and to catch by surprise those that would try to trip him up.
He stopped and drew the hammer in a huge arc and with great resolve and force he brought the hammer down upon the ground.
What was solid and the foundation born of Ego liquefied and the shock rippled and radiated outward in all directions to the horizon.
Everything not From The Air, that stood upon the surface sank beneath it, for it no longer had any foundation.
That which was From The Air did not sink for it was held aloft by love and compassion.
With quick steps he moved to the other three corners of the earth and drew the hammer down upon it’s surface and shockwaves went forth and the entire planet was transformed.
The ground sealed over and hardened and there was a new foundation born of Spirit.
They were brought down from aloft, organized and ready to lead and there was Peace on Earth.
There were those that were prepared and they did well, and they flourished, then there were those not of like mind and had no connection to the living source, a divine instance walking in the flesh, they were not prepared and bodies perished but none died and those that of them that remained toiled in the fields.
The Truth Hammer – Realistic
He was the unknown Leader of the Technorati, he was anonymous, fame and power he did not seek, ego gratification he needed not , wise and meek, it was intelligence he sought. The agents knew him not, and that they were the agents, they knew not.
All that he had loved had been destroyed by the ignorance of the world and with great diligence he had orchestrated the end of this system of things.
The Technoratit knew all which was kept secret and could see all that was not apparent. For two decades he tested the waters planting seeds and watching them grow, he knew when to sail, where to till and where to sow. The Internet grew and every mind became connected so that in an instant all could know.
This one knew the devices of the Internet very well and every component was a soldier in his army and capable of surgical precision and timing in the delivery of the messages that would overthrow, to the beast whose name is ignorance would be brought the final blow.
For the words carried transformative intelligence that would subdue the ignorance in the minds of men. They traveled unseen Like A Thief in the Night and were not apparent to the watchmen of world or the 2% that ruled it. For none could see it or fathom the reach of this thought As such the industries fell one by and to those that ruled it was a great mystery. the current system of things
A new system of things was ready for launch and it was Heaven on Earth and not Heaven sought.
The World Must Make Ready For a New Technology.
Stay close to the source; connect your loved ones and friends for it will take you through the storm.

onegirlmanyideas,
How wonderful it would be if everybody in the world learnt Esperanto - the only constructed language in the world. Will we then not go beyond many barriers to unite as people of the Earth?
You can learn it free. I am trying to learn it. It is a very simple language. Perhaps you need only 2000 words to communicate freely. The grammar and the syntax are very easy. In fact I find this language to be playful.
Regards
Tanzan Senzaki
PS: Google Esperanto. Here is one site, http://www.lernu.net/lernu.php?lingvo=en
Nice paint job Rahul. I also noticed that writing that appeals to me triggers the essences of things forgotten.
Everything has an essence, which is that which does not require words and cannot be contained in words, but can be triggered by them.
Tanzan, surely Esperanto isn't the only constructed language? What about the language Tolkein made for LotR, or Klingon, or even Loxian, which Enya's lyricist created after getting inspired from writing for LotR. Loxian is new, but I know a few people who can speak some level of tolkein's elvish & Klingon.
I personally prefer languages that evolved organically. I find a lot more meaning and poetry behind the words.
It is 11:00 Pm in India ….The news channels are screeching breaking news on a “terror attack” in Bangalore…. A few Scientists were shot at indiscriminately , after they came out of a convention in IISC(Indian Institute of Science) Bangalore- One of them is dead -A professor from IIT D Prof MC Puri .5 others are injured!!
Over the years, every time there is a blink on the screen of yet another terrorist attack- I have watched it with numbed disconnection. It has come to become an everyday part of existence. As a journalist.. I guess you look at events in a cold manner- with complete emotional disengagement.
This was different .I studied adjacent to the IISC campus for 5 years. The images of the Convention centre , where I attended some memorable lectures are flashing throughmy mind!!..IISC campus is almost like a forest .…An oasis in middle of a urban jungle…almost Broodingly still..Full of idealistic people who moved around in cycles to curb pollution!
I didn’t ever imagined that one of these incidents would affect me so deeply. I obviously felt a little distressed … angry …troubled each time i watched such soulless butchery. But I could not relate to the trauma of people who have been in the midst of such gruesome aggression…But I get a sense of it today.
Even as another year passes by , as we begin to cheer in the new year-I wonder where humanity is heading. What is making people kill one another? But more than feeling sad , like most others I feel extremely violated and enraged!!.
I think any agenda or individuals associated with such terrorist networks (they call it movement) cannot be human. They are a disgrace to everything they associate with – Their faith, their conviction, their family , their society , their country and to humanity in general !!.. I cannot come close to understanding the minds of individuals who perpetrate senseless crime against the innocent….How can people gain in anyway by killing others? What are they trying to achieve? I can’t comprehend their premise or logic. Is it ever going to end?..I don’t think so…!!...
I still have no answers. I am just extremely distressed!..
Ameya,
Thanks for bringing to my attention other constructed languages. How many people in the world speak those languages? Any website to find more about these languages? Esperanto is spoken by thousands of people in the world in several countries. Many of them has it as their first language.
Regards
TS
Tanzan,
Yes, Esperanto is spoken in several countries, but isn't the official language of any place.. people who have learned (or their parents learned and taught them) the language just happen to be in many countries & it couldn't well be their "first language" since there is no geographical community in which they would be able to use it constantly outside of their homes. Maybe raised speaking both Esperanto and ____, but then it would be one of their first languages. Nothing wrong with that of course, but after first reading your comment I nearly thought that it was an official language of some obscure country i hadn't known of.
Klingon info - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Klingon_language
Elvish info - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elvish that has links to the several different elvish languages that were created. (Quenya being the one i've known people to speak)
Of course these languages are tied to books and movies and what not, they wouldn't be used by anyone outside of the fanbase, unlike Esperanto which is probably be used by all sorts of folks. My point was just to say that it wasn't the only language to be constructed. :)
Ameya,
I read you 'first snow fall' poem at your website. You write beautifully. I took the liberty to edit your poem, and left a comment there.

TS
PS: You are welcome to post your love poems here in Mallika's 'From the Heart...' thread.
Tanzan,
I had posted a responce to the last comment, but i must have entered my information wrong because i got something saying that my comment would need to be screened since it was my first one. So, hopefully that will show up here soon.
And thank you very much for the edit - I did like that better, and corrected it on the blog, giving you editing credit.
I tend to dislike any poetry i write, so i very rarely make anything public, but given your kind words, I might start putting some things up. Just don't expect anything else half decent.. i wouldn't want to disappoint. ;)
the news about Bangalore make me shiver ...
not sure if these brutal experiences ever go away ...
there is a tearing...
as if fragments of ones soul are uprooted...
as thresholds...
hard to comprehend and move beyond ...
and yet,
there lies the opportunity ...
for grace to unfold ...
question is:
are we willing to open the door???
Ameya,
It would be my pleasure to help you. You need not give me any credit for editing.
Sometimes the Intentblog software screens comments. It has happened with my posts several times in the past. I am sure your post will soon show up here.

TS
thank you all for your thoughtful responses. i too appreciate the diversity of cultures and languages that the world has to offer. however, i am curious as to how to influence the broad spectrum of the human populace which may not have this appreciative understanding of things that are "different". how do we unite if members among us feel threatened by things they do not understand?

Sometime ago I noticed an interested trend I believe related to this blog. For example, one day Gotham would write about an issue that he noticed (politics); the next day there would be some improvement from the side of politics and Gotham would have to take back what he had said in a later post.
Then one day I complained about the newspaper pushers situated every morning at the skytrain filling peoples heads with unnecessary tabloid. THe next I happen to glance at someone reading the same paper where there was an interesting article about the benefits of meditation-great. The credit went to Harvards department of kinesiology Prof Grey for the research instead of the Institute of Noetic Sciences. Lovely.
The events of 9/11, though seemingly similar to an act of war, was clearly not. Rather, it an act of criminality. 9/11 and Tim McVeigh's Oklahoma City bombing are both crime of the same nature.
The only two main differences were: modus operandi and nationalities.
Tim McVeigh was an American;
The 9/11 attackers were foreigners.
Tim McVeigh used a home-made bomb.
The evil foreiners used airplanes as bombs.
You may ask: why was 9/11 not an act of war? Good question!
It is only an act of war when one sovereign nation egregiously attacks another sovereign nation.
Q: How should predident Bush have responded to an act of criminality?
A: The same way the U.S. responded to the Oklahoma City attack: you track down the criminals, arrest them and prosecute them.
Did president Bush do that? You be the judge!
Just in case you were away visiting Mars or had your head submerged in sand, he responded by launching an act of war against an (innocent) sovereign nation: Iraq. He purportedly and perfunctorily began with the right approach by looking for the mastermind of the attacks (Osama bin Laden) who, apparently, was holding out in the rubbles of Afghanistan.
As you all know, more than four years later, he still has not captured the mastermind. Is this a failure? What do you think? There is no point looking for the executors of the crimes because they all died when the planes crashed.
Has president Bush failed the American people? In my humble opinion the answer is a resounding yes. Not only has he not captured those behind the planning of the attacks, he has made the world a far more dangerous place by attacking an innocent nation. The evidence, as we know it, shows that Iraq was not responsible for the horrors of 9/11. If the U.S. were to target a specific Mid-Eastern nation to avenge 9/11, is seems quite logical to me that that nation wound have to be Saudi Arabia; not Iraq, notwithstanding the brutal regime that ruled it!
Why? Because 15 of the 19 hi-jackers were Saudi Arabians, as well as the mastermind. They were clearly not Iraqis.
As a conscientious American, one must naturally asks: was it worth squandering hundreds of billions of dollars waging a war which has cost the lives of thousands of young Americans and tens of thousands of Iraqis? Is the world safer for it?
Will Bush ever apologise for committing such a terrible wrong? Will he admit his mistakes and expedite the troops home? Will he ever apprehrend the criminal mastermind bin Laden? Will bin laden ever be brought to justice?
Regards,
P.S. Peace can never be achieved by violent means!
Mallika & Sumant:wishes for a love and joy-filled anniversary, fellow humans...
You have seen through me Richard: awesome ode!
Excellent 'essay' Ron.
peace all
Does having a vasectomy have a negative impact in a holistic/spiritual sense, think chakras etc...?
Dear Ron,
I feel like you, the unjust nature of this administration, to wage war on Iraq for the reasons you mention.
I also have studied history, and civilizations, and throughout recorded 'time' - we humans find a way to fight, argue, and invade.
The most compelling question for me, the driving need I felt, to Understand, this innate nature of ourselves - propelled me on the deep seekers search!
It has landed me here at Intent. :)
Peace can be 'achieved' individually, and then, it can ripple out into communities, cities, and nations. In 'theory' I believe this to the core.
But, how can we achieve peace worldwide, when we cannot tame our own natures, in small ways, in our relationships with family, co-workers, and mostly, within ourselves?
Love,
~ Kate
Mallika And Sumant, HAPPY ANNIVERSERY. May your life be filled with love, laughter, joy, peace, and contentment. GOD BLESS.
Gratefulness:
Because everybody is creating a space for you to be transformed -- even those who think they are obstructing you, even those whom you think are enemies. Your friends, your enemies, good people and bad people, favorable circumstances, unfavorable circumstances -- all together they are creating the context in which you can be transformed and become a buddha. Be grateful to all.
-author unknown
Hi sundar,
That quote, does take One to a Higher place of Understanding.
Sometimes, we are drawn to that which hurts us. In the immediate moments, when the pain seems so overwhelming - oh, gratitude is farthest from our mind!
Experience is the great Teacher. So yes, all opportunities 'good' and 'bad' offer us the Truth, beyond the event and form.
Still, wouldn't it be nice, to stay forever in Awareness. I have heard, some - like buddha - came to experience continueous awareness.
I only have moments of this. Do you?
~ Kate
tx kate for that response...while one is in process, gratefulness occurs more often than not...consciousness keeps expanding...feel the gratefulness for the process too...i guess every moment of the journey in awareness is joyous...even the aspect of reaching someplace just dropped off someplace...more moments of being rather than becoming...
sunder it is very true
there is always gratefulness for the expansion of consciousness
and mostly in the present moment, though past influences it too. The awareness is the important aspect and it can take us to higher levels of consciousness. Buddha used to say we are today what we were thinking yesterday but we have to be aware of this fact too...

Mallika :
It would be nice If u add people like Kate ,Sundar in contributers list.Their blogs r full of wisdom,I really cherish them.I read them twice or thrice sometimes.
I hardly see the presence of any contributers here in this kind of open thread.
Seema
K, after reading you I often feel "what is there more to add."
First our consciousness expands to plus infinity so to say (obviously outwards), then to minus infinity (obviously inwards)and lastly comes back to ourselves as the simple consciousness. It is now like the consciousness of a child or a real sage. You are neither aware of anything nor yet not aware. You simple are, simply BE as sundr has so rightly said. You do not KNOW what is good or bad rather doing good has become your very nature.
Harb.
Harb, you say first the conscious becomes plus infinity. Then it becomes minus infinity. That means it finally becomes zero. I mean no consciousness. I do not understand this. If there is no consciousness, then there no soul and we should be dead. maybe I do not understand. Because all souls come from God and so consciousness is connected with each soul to keep us alive. For example when we sleep, we are not conscious, but still we have a soul and we have consciousness. But when we die, our soul gets out of the body and goes into the air and then we are not conscious and we have no consciousness. But you say it is the consciousness of a child. I am very confused.
Sorry to bother you so much with my questions.
Happy Anniversay Mallika and Sumant...how many years?
to you,
heaven is here...
when we open our hearts
we feel it
when we open our eyes
we see it
when we reach out our hand
it touches us.

Dear Friends,
Sharing this email that was sent to me by a close friend...I guess it can also apply to "brothers"
Subject: For the "sisters" in my life
A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day, drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As they talked about life, about marriage, about the responsibilities of life and the obligations of adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance upon her
daughter.
"Don't forget your Sisters," she advised, swirling the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. "They'll be more important as you get older. No matter how much you love your husband, no matter how much you love the children you may have, you are still going to need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now and then; do things with them. And remember that "Sisters" also means your girlfriends, your daughters, your close female friends,
and other women relatives too.
You'll need other women. Women always do."
'What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman thought. 'Haven't I just gotten married? Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup. Surely my husband and the family we may start will be all I need to make my life worthwhile!
But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact with her Sisters and made more women friends each year. As the years tumbled by, one after another, she gradually came to understand that her Mom really knew what she was talking about. As time and nature work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman,
Sisters are the mainstays of her life.
After all these years of living in this world, here is what I've
learned:
Times passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Love waxes and wanes.
Hearts break.
Careers end.
Jobs come and go.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Many men don't call when they say they will.
BUT Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how many miles are between you. A Sister is never farther away than needing her can reach.
When you have to walk that lonesome valley, and you have to walk it for yourself, your Sisters will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on, praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the valley's end. Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk beside you. Or come in and carry you out.
My mother, sister, daughters, daughters-in-law, granddaughters and "girlfriends" bless my life! The world wouldn't be the same without them, and neither would I. When we began this adventure called womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we would need each other. Every day, we need each other still.
Pass this on to the women who help make your life work.
I just did
Hello Everyone
Although I do not participate a great deal in the form of comments here, I do come everyday to see what everyone is up to and I have been helped with a couple of issues in my life just by doing that. I would like to express my thanks to all of you especially the Chopra's for making this possible. I especially love reading comments from Aurora, North, Geeta and Harb to name a few and I miss seeing David, Laurence Peter Brown, and Bo Wise who don't seem to be around much anymore. I know David has been away. I would like to take this opportunity to wish all of you "Peace, Harmony, Laughter and Love in 2006.
I would like to throw something out there for discussion to do with the whole "Intelligent Design versus Evolution" controversy. I am confused by the fact that religions are using the term "Intelligent Design" and the science community "Evolution" and that they are so far apart in their thinking. If we did evolve from one celled organisms which certainly makes a lot more sense than the Adam and Eve theory, would we not have to believe that there is an "Intelligent Design" behind that whole process. Do science believe that this all just happened? You only have to look at a flower to know that this is not the case. Anyway, everytime I hear about this on television, I fail to understand what the real issue is. I would appreciate it is someone could straighten me out on this.
Love Faye
Hello,
I'm new here, so I thought I'd throw out a hello to all of you. I've been reading through the various blogs and corresponding comments for the past couple of hours, and am kind of hooked now. Before I start to randomly comment, however, i thought it best to say hello first.
I hope everyone's holidays went well and here's wishing you guys a great new year.

Faye, welcome and thanks for "Peace, Harmony, Laughter and Love".
I am also new here. I have been lots of peace, harmony and laughter here - everybody connecting with everybody else through something or the other
but love is still lacking a lot. Bring some more of it.
Yes, I agree with you. It is fun to be here.
I think you you can explain the origin of life without bringing god into it, then you question has no merit. No need for any design. You started from a single cell. That is wrong. You have to start with the things in the cell - like nucleic acids (DNA, RNA), proteins, lipids etc. And these can be produced in Nature under different conditions. And so with millions of trial and errors, over millions of years, they can assemble in a self replicating cell. For examples, proteins are made up of amino acids. Amino acids can be produced in jar full of air and moisture when an electric arc is set in it -like lightening in the sky. So Nature can build the building blocks of cells....No God or design is needed here. and in a system where entropy is increasing, it has been pr oven theoretically that subsystems -analogous to living things - can evolve. No God needed again. So a cell evolved by millions of random chances involving interactions with the building blocks. And you do believe in evolution. So we are all of us at the Intentblog. Welcome again.

Dear Onegirlmanyideas,
I have often wondered in the same way as you. Why can't we have a universal language which is spoken and understood all over the world. I do appreciate the contribution various languages make in preserving ancient cultures. But at the same time, I also feel that for ease of communication and for faster development in all parts of the world, we must have one language. Perhaps, English is the best candidate for becoming a universal language....simply for the practicality, as it is already the most widely spoken language of the world.
In my opinion, English should be made a compulsory language at school in all countries of the world along with their native language. It would help in uniting the world. Enjoy your stay in Prague.
Cheers!
Navin
Here is a copy paste of a funny email I just received:
European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English
will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which
was the other possibility.
As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that
English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year
phase-in plan that would become known as "Euro-English".
In the first year, "s" will replace the soft "c". Sertainly, this will
make the sivil servants jump with joy.
The hard "c" will be dropped in favour of "k". This should klear up
konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.
There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the
troublesome "ph" will be replaced with "f". This will make words like
fotograf 20% shorter.
In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted
to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.
Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have
always ben a deterent to akurate speling.
Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent "e" in the languag
is disgrasful and it should go away.
By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing "th"
with "z" and "w" with "v".
During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary "o" kan be dropd from vords kontaining
"ou" and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.
Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi tu
understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.
Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in
ze forst plas.
If zis mad you smil, pleas pas on to oza pepl.

Why terrorists struck Bangalore
By B. Raman
Retired Professor Emeritus in the mathematics department of Indian Institute of
Technology-Delhi, M C Puri, was killed and four serving scientists were injured when an
unidentified gunman opened fire indiscriminately on a group of scientists as they were
coming out of a conference hall in the prestigious Indian Institute of Science campus in
Bangalore on Wednesday.
The victims -- largely Indian with some foreigners -- who were attending an international
conference on research relating to infrastructure, were reportedly walking to an adjacent
building for dinner at the end of the day's proceedings.
The person or persons responsible for the attack have not so far been arrested or
identified. The incident has coincided with the reported shifting of Abu Salem, a member
of the mafia group headed by the Karachi-based Dawood Ibrahim, to Bangalore to undergo a
lie detector and other forensic tests in connection with the investigation into his
alleged involvement in the serial Mumbai blasts of March 1993, in which nearly 250
innocent civilians were killed.
The explosions were carried out by Dawood Ibrahim, then based in Dubai, with the help of
some Mumbai-based Muslims, who were taken to Pakistan via Dubai and got trained and armed
by Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence.
Abu Salem, who was arrested by the Portuguese authorities, was recently extradited by
them to India after he and Monica Bedi, a woman companion of his, had completed a prison
sentence in Portugal after having been convicted on charges of entering Portugal with
false travel documents. There is so far no evidence to connect the shooting incident with
the shifting of Abu Salem.
Sleeper cells of pro-Al Qaeda jihadi terrorist organisations of Pakistan and Bangladesh
operating in South India have come to the notice of the police from time to time.
The most active in South India has been the Lashkar e Tayiba followed by the
Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami.
Occasionally, there have also been reports of the presence and activities of other
Pakistan-based organisations such as the Hizbul Mujahideen -- an indigenous Kashmiri
organisation whose Amir, Syed Salahuddin, operates from Pakistan -- and the Jaish e
Mohammad, a Pakistani organisation like the LeT and the HUJI.
Of these organisations, the LeT has been the most active.
While its activities in Jammu and Kashmir and other north Indian states are controlled
from its headquarters at Muridke, near Lahore, in Pakistan, its activities in western and
southern India are controlled by its headquarters in Saudi Arabia and occasionally from
Dubai.
Its sleeper cells in South India operate either under the name of the LeT or under other
names such as the Muslim Defence Force in Tamil Nadu. While the activities of the HUJI in
J&K and other parts of North India are controlled by its headquarters in Pakistan, its
activities in southern Thailand, Myanmar, and East and South India are believed to be
controlled by its branch office in Bangladesh.
The LeT, the HUJI and the JeM -- all of whom are members of Osama bin Laden's
International Islamic Front for Jihad Against the Crusaders and the Jewish People -- look
upon J&K, Hyderabad in Andhra Pradesh and Junagadh in Gujarat as rightfully belonging to
Pakistan.
They want to 'liberate' them from Indian control as a first step in their plan to
'liberate' the Muslims of North and South India and incorporate their 'homelands' in the
so-called Islamic Caliphate advocated by bin Laden.
They also similarly want to 'liberate' the Muslim majority areas of Sri Lanka's Eastern
Province.
In addition to such political and religious reasons, their focus on South India has also
a strongly economic angle. That is the large concentration of information technology and
outsourcing companies -- Indian as well as foreign -- in Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai.
A defining characteristic of the post-9/11 terrorist strikes of al Qaeda and the IIF has
been to step up acts of economic terrorism. The terrorist strikes in Bali, Mombasa in
Kenya, on the French oil tanker Limburg, Casablanca in Morocco, Istanbul in Turkey, and
Egypt had a strong economic motivation.
Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai, in the calculation of the terrorists and their sponsors
in Pakistan, are attractive targets for acts of economic terrorism.
They believe successful acts of economic terrorism there could affect an important source
of India's foreign exchange earnings, keep foreign information technology companies away
from India and affect India's stock market, which attracts a large volume of foreign
institutional investment based on the value of the shares of the IT companies.
Since General Pervez Musharraf seized power in Pakistan in October 1999, he has embarked
on a programme for the diversification of the Pakistani economy, which is now mainly
dependent on the export of textiles, sports and leather goods. In this connection,
considerable attention is being paid, with Chinese assistance, to develop Pakistan's IT
capability and attract foreign software and outsourcing companies to Pakistan.
The ISI too calculates that uncertainties in the minds of foreign IT and outsourcing
companies about security conditions in South India could benefit Pakistan.
After the neutralisation of a sleeper cell of the LeT in Delhi in March, the Delhi police
had repeatedly been sounding wake-up calls about the plans of jihadi terrorists to target
IT companies in Bangalore.
Media reports have also been speaking of a number of hoax threats addressed to IT
companies in Bangalore since March. The recent hoax message of an attempt by the Al Qaeda
to blow up the Indian Parliament had also reportedly originated from Thirunelveli in
Tamil Nadu, a hotbed of the activities of the Al Ummah, which had organised a number of
serial blasts at Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu in February 1998.
All these were not hoax calls from pranksters trying to create a sensation. These were
probably hoax messages of suspected jihadi terrorists, apparently trying to test the
reflexes of the security authorities and create in their mind a hoax fatigue.
Why did the persons responsible for Wednesday's incident target the scientists attending
an international conference? It does not appear to have been a targeted attempt to kill
any particular scientist though media reports speak of the presence of some space
scientists in the conference.
South India in general and Bangalore in particular not only have a large concentration of
IT experts, but also famous scientists. How to strengthen physical security in South
India without creating unnecessary alarm and nervousness, which could economically prove
counter-productive?
This is a question that needs urgent attention from the Government of India and the four
state governments.
I am wishing all of us as One,
A Happy Extra Ordinary New Year
I am intending divine, scientific discovery, supernatural, celestial, and in the sky events that will bring awe, mystery, and realization to humanity.
I wish the world to be filled with wonder so that we forget our conflicts and form a unity of consciousness.
May we find the innocent children we are inside and once again play the play of the infinite Being.
Richard: Ditto to you Sir! Most eloquently put. I would concur with you, that the "sky events" will be on the increase in most spectacular and unexpected ways during the next seven+ years.
I kid you not my friend, I saw, the other night, what I believe was my first direct experience of....well, you know...in the sky--it defied all logical explanation and was unlike anything I'd ever seen, and "it" moved in a way that "was not characteristic," or with a color, of our more earthly airborne vehicles! You have a good one too, My Friend.--Dave

Well stated, Navin.
To All My Scholarly Friends out in cyberspace:
Here a little history trivia for you.
Who was the first person in the modern era to use the word terorism and when did he/she use it?
If you answer it correctly, consider yourself very bright.
P.S. I will provide the answer if you are stumped.
ok, Ron, here's my 2 cts.,
since the outcome was change of public focus,
masshysteria and paranoia, budget increase, expansion of implied jurisdiction, and 'legal' measures, I would have to say it was Beavis, but than again that Butthead..mhhnn.. though, the authority for such a call..if the family of Simpsons wouldn't have voted..

should in my, humble, opinion read:
'why a mass murderer struck Bangalore',
terrorist is a political label,
a criminal organisation the legal,

Some intelligence has embedded clues everywhere that could not have been done by a single entity or group. They are in math, in our myth, and histories, they are in the writings of the authors all not connected. To avoid all the “God” word and religious confusion we are using BAPI (Benevolent All Pervading Intelligence).
There is a loosely connected consortium preparing to present to the world.
You know all the debates in politics and courts about God. Well it is all going to come to a head Illusions long entertained will collapse, there will be great insecurity and many will seek The Source. There may be a false one at the same time as a true one, and always the truest one is inside. But that is why some are here to witness so they speak.
There are those that create thought, manifest insight and there are those that copy and distort. The latter is not the real source.
The time will come when Aurora Borealis will cover the skies; the world will no longer be avoid what is happening they will not be able to easily distract themselves whenever they walk out of the door they will be reminded. The question “Why?” will send all seeking.
By then there will be a place ready for their attention and we will return to a Being in it’s Infinite Play.
Thanks for the affirmation David.
Hello Marek,
You ask:"Nonetheless,
with Love, Passion, I'm stumped, ron, who? is it funny? ;)
No, it's not funny! (Hint: it was originated in Europe, close to where you are!) I shall provide you the answer after everyone has had a chance to answer.

Has everyone seen thAT THERE'S a Primetime special tonight on ABC covering the legend of Pope Joan?
Hey Ron,
I catch your vibe, my intention is not to insult
anybody or anyone's believes, though I do believe it is the appropriate medium and way, (as in funny) to debate some important dogmas, doctrines etc,
ok, back to the topic, seriously, the Nazi's?
political dissidents from Eastern Europe?
That's my best guess, will read the answer later,

Dear Mallika and Dear Gotham,
I would suggest a brief year end address from you guys to all of us at the Intentblog. Notwithstanding the obvious thank-yous, thank-yous, I think everyone would like to know how Intentblog is doing. All objective information, not the kind of subjective information that Kavita was gathering few weeks ago.
Please tell us how many hits you get in a day or in a month? Where from the hits are coming? Looking at the world time zones, I think most of the hits are from India and Europe, and very few hits from USA. What your records show? What kinds of topics readers are more interested in? Are you guys seeing what you expected to see when you started this venture? Did DC or Mallika get any idea or useful information from comments to write their new books? If so, what books are in the planning stages? Did the Intentblog bring subjective expansion of inner-self to Shekhar?
What sort of audience you are after? Any disappointments so far? I was expecting comments of some more serious nature here when I came to this site few months ago. And I do not see the trend changing anyway. Most of the stuff people are interested here is fluffy.
Please give us some sort of statistics on any issue that might be of Interest to us all and that has escaped my notice so far.
If you like , you can match your address with the president's state of the union address!
Kind regards to both of you
Tanzan Senzaki
I think one interesting thing would be if the posters could also suggest topics they want discussed here.
This post was inspired by Kate's posting in one of her comments...on seeking for the peace within...
The whole world seeks happiness as a "collective".Efforts abound in trying to make it happen. Each one of us has our understanding of the causes and solutions towards it.But our attempts only seem to add to the chaos and confusion. Thus, we crave for peace, but endlessly create wars and conflicts; we yearn for joy but end up being disappointed;all our projected ideals remain just that - projections of our aspirations. The reality remains familiar, yet there is a disconnect.
Can we see it differently?
We seem to be addressing the symptoms rather than the root causes. While components of the system remain as they are, we seek a change in the summation.Rearranging the parts can create a cosmetic illusion, nothing beyond. Thus, we play around with perceptions, strategies etc while the fundamentals remain the same.
And what are the fundamentals?
Man as an individual is ridden with conflicts. He is a million different parts himself; conflicts and confusions reign supreme within him; joy and spontaineity are distinctly lacking.Hurts, rejection and pain qualify the core of his being.
Given such a situation, is he capable of contributing to healing processes of the collective, is the moot question?
Insights that occured in my life indicate otherwise. When the micro processes get healed, the macro has to respond. The seeds of change lie in the micro. And a morphogenetic quantum of micro level changes can enable a paradigm shift in the macro.Yes, the responsibility lies with each one of us.To address our conflicts, pain and hurts within...just see our states integrally, without condemnation, judgement or guilt. It is just the way we are.No justifications, no explanations.Helpless....Seeing ourselves as we are unfolds a miracle in creation. It is a "happening" , not a matter of effort.A flood of creative energies flow through us re-aligning our erroneous perceptions.
Awareness is not the means to an end, it is an end by itself.
This is not intellectual masturbation.Try it out for yourself.Authenticate it personally.Do not try to love; it is pathetic; instead become aware of the absence of love; the death of feeling within, the unabashed abuse of people in our lives, cloaked elaborately in declarations of love and caring. But a word of caution; it is not easy to accept ourselves as we are when we see ourselves as manipulators and abusers; insensitive to the core. This is the greatest challenge; not escaping into guilt trips, not condemning ourselves, just seeing things as they are. Then watch the miracle of life unfold, just as it is, pristine pure and unadulterated by conditioning.
Ron, was it Nancy Regan OR MRs. Deifenbaker??
North
Dear Faye, thanks for the kind words and the blessing!
May I take this moment too; to wish you abundance of all good things, and a prosperous new year in 2006; and May a wish or dream, come true for you too : )
North
Sundar, it can be quite a rude awakening indeed; when we remove our viel of self-deceipt, to see our true self
so often, we are repulsed by our own beast; we lock it up & toss the key away
hence, no healing, no change; only stagnant efforts to keep the beast enclosed.
Indeed, when we can identify or recognise our own beastly burdens; learn to embrace them, change them; it truly must become a case of lightness of being.
I hope one day sooner than later; to find myself in that space/place of placidness.

Thanks for responding to my querie and your kind welcome. I finally understand what this is all about.
Hello North
How are you doing? I hope you got some time to rest over the holiday. I have my house up for sale so I did not feel much like decorating it for the holidays this year. I am looking to simplify my life. I live alone, if you can call living with 7 cats, 2 turtles and and aging Cocker Spaniel living alone. I have found an apartment that takes animals so now all I need is to sell the house. I will use your good wish toward making that happen, thank you! I will continue to watch for you here, as I said, I enjoy reading your posts.
Love Faye
in my perception, much or even all of the process is done when we are able to see ourselves...then it is only a q of time when the healings within manifest...
that was a response to your comment, north...

***
Please see my post in Gotham's SPAM blog. Harb did not like the idea.
Harb,
Please read my post above, if you missed it by chance, regarding consciousness becoming plus infinity and then becoming negative infinity etc.
I would be happy to hear your response. No rush, by the way.
I looked just now at your suggestions on the spam blog Tanzan. I was actually suggesting something different. If posters can suggest topics of discussions not covered by the bloggers but of interest to the posters, we could take a stab at them just as Mallika did with the open thread and the reiki thread.
I'm not sure how most bloggers choose their topics, but 80 percent of what I've written has been based on a spur of the moment thought. The kabul to kashmir blog came because of a picture sent to me and rahul's post..the divinity one came as a result of a post you wrote and divya's comment on what I had said.
I think both Harb and you have a point and may be we can find a good balance between the two viewpoints. The blog is evolving well on its own because of the spontaneity of writing both by the bloggers and the posters, but may be we could also pick up specific topics suggested by posters that they may feel can enrich and diversify the content.
Kavita, thanks for the response. After discussing with Mallika, she or you can post a blog to that effect.
Still my request to Mallika and Gotham for a year end address -summary- along the lines I suggested stands.
"The blog is evolving well on its own ..." That is one of the things I would like to hear. What is evolving here among 20-30 or so commentators only put together on all blogs does not seem to be really remarkable when about a million hits are supposedly taking place a month.

Laughed my guts out at this article I received on e-mail..…maybe some of you have read it before...
A young second generation Indian in the US was asked by his mother to explain the significance of "Diwali" to his younger brother, this is how he went about it...
"So, like this dude had, like, a big cool kingdom and people liked him. But, like, his step-mom, or something, was kind of a bitch, and she forced her husband to, like, send this cool-dude, he was Ram, to some national forest or something... Since he was going, for like, something like more than 10 years or so.. he decided to get his wife and his bro along... you know... so that they could all chill out together. But dude, the forest was reeeeal scary shit... really man... they had monkeys and devils and shit like that.
But this dude, Ram, kicked ass with darts and bows and arrows... so it was fine.
But then some bad gangsta boys, some jerk called Ravan, picks up his babe (Sita) and lures her away to his hood. And boy, was our man, and also his bro, Laxman, pissed... And you don't piss this son-of-a-gun cuz, he just kicks ass and like... all the gods were with him... So anyways, you don't mess with gods. So, Ram, and his bro get an army of monkeys... Dude, don't ask me how they trained the damn monkeys... just go along with me, ok... So, Ram, Lax and their monkeys whip this gangsta's ass in his own hood. Anyways, by this time, their time's up in the forest... and anyways... it gets kinda boring, you know... no TV or malls or shit like that. So,they decided to hitch a ride back home... and when the people realize that our dude, his bro and the wife are back home... they thought, well, you know, at least they deserve something nice... and they didn't have any bars or clubs in those days... so they couldn't take them out for a drink, so they, like, decided to smoke and shit... and since they also had some lamps, they lit the lamps also... so it was pretty cooool... you know with all those fireworks... Really, they even had some local band play along with the fireworks... and you know, what, dude, that was the very first, no kidding..., that was the very first music-synchronized fireworks... you know, like the 4th of July stuff, but just, more cooler and stuff, you know.
And, so dude, that was how, like, this festival started."

LP, TZ,
TZ, if Kavita or Mallika or Gotham like your idea I have no problem going along with that too. I dont make any issue of whatever I may have said on the topic (of year-end summing up etc). I am not very wise in such things I know.
LP,
The idea is that we want to know 'it all' or the universe.
We first try to know it by going outerwards but find that it is infinite outerwards. As we find this, our consciousness too expands in the process to what I call plus infinity.
Then we try to know it inwards, either by going deeper and deeper into things as science does or inwards in our own minds through sort of what is called introspection or mediation or whatever, as mystics do. In both the cases we again find that it is in fact infinite inwards as well. In the process our own consciousness goes to minus infinity inwards as well.
In fact, in both the case we find that finally we or our basic or knowing consciousness or even "I" merges indistinguishably with the universe. That in other words, we and the universe come out to be one.
Having realized this we then again come back to ourselves, that is, we or our consciousness is now neither entangled into something 'out there' nor 'in there' We have in other words now come back to ourselves, to our prsent state, to HERE AND NOW. When we are in this state we have become masters of the Game of Life.
I may perhaps be able to better express what I am trying to say in the words of a Zen saying:
"Before we study Zen, the mountains are mountains and rivers are rivers. When we have begun studying Zen mountains are no longer mountains and rivers are no longer rivers. Then when we have completed the study of Zen, mountains are once again mountains rivers again rivers."
These three stages of Zen saying depict three stages of our consciousness (of course along with the three stages or realities of the universe).
I think our deep sleep stage is akin to the second stage of zen saying.
Harb.

Dear North,
The term "terrorism' was coined by British statesman Edmund Burke during the French Revolution (1789-1795).
He was specifically referring to a vicious and cruel period (1793/94) known as the Reign of Terror by the Jocobin-dominated French government in which more than 40,000 people were guillotined and 200,000 deported, while another 200,000 died in prison from starvation and torture. Sounds like Abu Ghraib.
Hi Ron, thanks for the historical account of how/where the phrase was coined..interesting, what history reveals, about human nature; we haven't come very far, as a high-techi society. lol
Aurora; wishing you too; an outrageously wonderful 200!
North

Thanks Marek,
The disturbing 'thing' about these last 3 years is that, no matter what the "initial" impetus is
I relapse every six months or so, and it seems like the last year it has been every 4 or 3 months
And then I find myself sitting here thinking about how I am going to resolve to do much better

Another subject that I would like to see discussed here is "Genetically disposed diseases". For instance if there is a disease in my family does that mean that I am genetically disposed to get that disease. This is a discussion that is going on in my family right now. My philosophy is that all disease is influenced by your mind, disposition and lifestyle and from a spiritual point of view it does not make sense to me that just because my sister died of a heart attack that I will too. Maybe this could be a topic for the next open thread.
"My philosophy is that all disease is influenced by your mind, disposition and lifestyle and from a spiritual point of view it does not make sense to me that just because my sister died of a heart attack that I will too." Faye
***
It is genes, genes genes. Your genes make you what you are. You got your genes from your mom and dad, so did your sister. You share many with her. Some might be defective in both of you. And if those defects lead to some disease, and she had that disease, chances are you might get that as well.
Do you read Bible more often than current magazines/newspapers? What TV news do you watch?
Just curious. There is no need for a new thread for this. I explained to you earlier how life originated in this world. Genes are the blue prints of life.
LP
Faye,
It is true that we inherit our parents diseases because of genes factor. But it is also true that not all progeny inherit those diseases in a similar way. Rather it is more often that if one has had a certain disease from his/her parents others are saved of it.
LP,
Here is an other interesting original idea from my book:
Do you know what comprises our genes? It is in fact the same swirl in the center of the universe we see on our TVs, which coming down to our human levels has now solidified to become our double HELICAL (swirlled) genes and in fact it is the same swirl which is called kundlini (swirl) in Yoga philosophy.
Moreover, just as you so rightly said that 'genes are the blue prints of life', similarly going a little still deeper, four fundamental interactions are the blue prints of the genes.
The basic idea is that in its whole life the universe is to pass through four complete fundamental interactions. Further within it each system is to pass through them depending upon where they are in the universe's wheels-within-wheels scheme of things. Our genes just keep account of our passing through them at our levels. Nothing more nor less.
Of course, for complete understanding one will have to read my book Self Designed Universe www.selfdesigneduniverse.com)beig released in USA in March, 2006 and as of now available at amazon.co.uk .
All our actions basically depend upon those fundamental forces or interactions or are directed by them.
TZ,
Thank you. Yes, everything is predestined as per the philosophy of four basic forces or interactions. In fact same would have been the conclusion if scientists had discovered their theory of everything in equation form.
Harb,
You explanations and conclusions are far reaching and all encompassing like the Indian Vedantic philosophy. Your thoghts on that swirl thing are really interesting. Do you just make up such things or you base your conclusions on some observations and facts?
I wonder how many copies of your book have already been sold. How many copies were printed by the way? I think the book is still in its first edition.
Perhaps you can expand your book further based on all the discussions here at the IntentBlog.
I am sure when the book is released in the USA, you will have a big audience in the Western hemisphere. Will you be touring in the USA then to promote your book? Perhaps Kavita can be of much help to you. Send her a copy and perhaps she can write a review of your book and send to various publications where she contributes her writings.
There is another Indian blog at www.sulekha.com. Did you ever visit that site? They also have a chat room.
I wish you the best. Do you plan writing your second book?

Happy new year everybody!
May you all have fun and be safe!
Hi Faye, your question ,"if there is a disease in my family, does that mean that I am genetically disposed to get that disease".Faye that depends upon what disease we are talking about. Let us say we are talking about heart disease,to be more specific Myocardial Infarction.I am at risk of MI if I have had family members(father, mother, brother, sister, aunts, uncles, etc) who have had MI before age 40,(here age is important,if they had MI at age 60 it does not predispose me).I am at risk because I am an Indian American.(Indians like me have very small coronary arteries, and being immigrants lead more stressful lives).(Caucacians have good size coronary arteries).I am at risk of MI if I have diabetes. I am at risk of MI if I smoke, or smoked in the past, or lived in a house hold with cigarette smoking. I am at risk if I have a type A personality. I am at risk if my lipid levels are not with in the range.I am at risk if I am obese.I am at risk if I don't exercise.I can decrease my risk by meditation, exercise, diet, Reiki, changing to a less stressful job,an aspirin a day, flax seed oil,Niacin,Omega 3 6 9 ,lipid lowering meds, etc. Research also suggests a glass of wine is good.I am not a cardiologist.Faye, children some as small as 7 yrs of age are having abnormal lipid levels, due to overeating and not exercising enough.
A friend of mine has family history of MI.His two brothers died of MI before age 40.He jogs more than 10 miles 3 times a week. He eats right, does everything by the book. On his last check up he was diagnosed with blockage in his coronaries. So he had bypass surgery. We can do everything. But to be safe one must get a cardiology consult.
Faye, I am just trying to help. God bless. HAPPY NEW YEAR.
I agree with Faye - this would be a good topic for discussion.
Doesn't INTENT override any blueprint? A blueprint is close to determinism and powerlessness to change our lives. If I have heart disease on one side of the family and cancer on the other - how does it happen that I get one or the other or both or neither? Why does one sibling 'inherit' and not another?
Can't 'I' influence the outcome?

Colette
Colette,
I note your eagerness to learn about the role of genetics in diseases. You are at the wrong site to ask people to explain to you. Except very few, almost everybody here knows nothing about molecular biology and medicine. If you want to be confused by the visions - opinions - of the soul seekers here, read what they write. Otherwise google genetic diseases and read to learn something.
Good Luck
LP
LP, in 1998; otherwise being healthy; with disc degeneration and arthralgia starting; I was all of a sudden, yes; while under stress, was hit with a bacteria called: Helicobacter Pylori
I researched the nasty bug to death on the net. Scared the hell out of me! But, what frightened me most; and sent me spiralling downward into a depth of fear; was the diagnosis and prognosis.
My count at the time was 110%! I spent a few years, trying to find out HOW I got it; and not my son, my family, nor my ex-husband.
After grueling tests, etc..it was determined by internists and gastroenterologists; that the stress; awakened the bacteria; which may have been laying dormant in the stomach lining since early childhood; as I grew up in extreme impoverished conditions; as well as an experience of homelessness as a child. WE went hungary a lot; I ate twigs, sucked on rocks. lol
anyway, bottom line is; the spinal degeneration began from child-hood poverty!! The bacteria from possibly same; or gastroscopy, etc; the possibilities were endless!
Anyway; docs gave me a 2-5 year educated guess; I'd have stomach cancer. I know personally people whom died from the same bacteria in that time-frame.
though my body has succumbed to the disease(atonic and atrophic gastritis) and (hiatus and hiatal hernia's) and more diseases; I have managed thus far; to thwart developing cancer; though on some days, my stomach bets to differ.
I am so fatigued at times; I feel I could collapse, as I developed Chronic Fatigue Syndrome within 3 years of the atrophic gastritis.
The past year or more; I am always ice-cold! lol
In the beginning; I was in intense fear and painful suffering; both physically and emotionally; I cannot express the pain this disease is like, in my stomach! The stomach lining is more than two thirds grown up my esophagus trying to repair acid reflux damage; not one doc knows what to expect, once in my throat? kinda scary knowing that!
I've been trying to have my stomach removed since about 2001; to thwart the developement of cancer. Nobody will do it; until the cancer is there. sounds dumb to me!
So, physically I suffer from diseases I got when a baby-child; from birth really.
In fact, my Mom and my sibs all suffer from child-hood poverty-related diseases of the body. My bro died at 48-massive heart attack. WE all have heart disease.
Specialists told me to make an effort to not succumb to the starvation that many get with atrophic gastritis; to keep meat on my bones! In that effort, I developed high cholesterol in the past 3-4 years. Prior to that, I was skin and bones.
but, looks like I'll be going bones again; which frightens me.
Ultimately, I feel I am empowering healing, by believing I can.
Otherwise, like my peers whom have already died from cancer caused by hp and atrophic gastritis; I would be afraid. I am not.
I am more afraid of a long life with it; than I am of a short life with it. It is pure agonizing physical, unending pain.
I've learned to emotionally balance it, and can talk about it without sorrow; but, I have yet to learn, to make it heal completely.
I have yet, to convince my mind; I can heal all things. I have convinced mind, to at least attempt to heal the body.
anyway, rattling a bit now..excuse me. lol
but, yes, I do believe in genetic make-up; and the passing on of diseases of the body and indeed even, the mind/emotions. I am living proof, among millions.
I am also living proof of, and proved already many doctors and specialists probable-prognosis wrong; not proud of that, amazed at that!
They told me, I'd die much like an aides patient does; of respiratory distress/disease, commonly known as pnumonia; if not from stomach cancer.
So, the thing IS: if a person does develope a genetic disease, is to research it and combat it with changes and altering life-styles and habits, as suggested.
For me, it is too late; but, I can slow down the destructive atrophic process which has claimed me without my even knowing, until it was too late; so far, I have surpassed the five year-mark!(wink) as I am entering my seventh year with atrophic gastritis in this spring.
So, we can slow down destructive cells from continuing to mutate.
North
North,
I am sorry to hear your story. Your chances of developing gastric are higher than general population, but it does not mean you will get it.
Your doctors are right. Your stomach should not be removed because of fear of developing cancer later.
I think the best thing to do now is to listen to your doctors to take care of acid reflux. There is surgery of hiatal hernia , but I am not sure if you are suitable candidate for that. There re few things you can do to help yourself-- keeping pillows under your shoulders, not eating near bed time, not eating small portions many times a day, snacks saltines, not keeping stomach fully empty, over the counter meds like anti acids, no coffee, no carbonated drinks, no alcohol, no spices, protein liquid supplements, mild exercise etc etc. You can google these topics and get all free help. I am sure your doctors must have told you these things.
They are right if acid reflux gets too bed, you will aspirate your vomitus. it will go to your lungs and you will die of pneumonia. More chances of this than getting stomach cancer. H. pylori does give rise to cancer, But once it is taken care of by medicine, you should not worry about the bacteria. it appears to me your nutrition is bad. Think of taking Ensure etc--but too much of it. You are computer literate. do your own research. Your comments on blogs can wait. Take care of your health first. One of my friends had acid reflux and I had done some research for him. That;s why I know a little about it.
Good luck to you
LP
Hi LP; thanks for all the info. and yes, I was told these things way back in 1998 when it began. My back started going by early 30's; same as my sibs and Mom.
Well, I am prone to lung infection and plurisy(infected lining of bag that holds the lungs) and I don't want my stomach out from fear of cancer LP; I want it out, b/c it hurts 24/7!
I also have a very huge, old ulcer at the duodenum; a surgeon said, biggest he's seen; that's the main reason I want the stomach out; and a bypass done; it's in that ulcer cancer will form!
Eating hurts, not eating hurts. Who can live with that conditions; and not lose heart and mind power, at in and out short intervals? lol
but, I don't sit at the PC for hours; I am off and on in between most postings; not sure why my posting seems to be bothering people lately?
anyway; not feeling sorry for myself either; been there, and already done that part of the healing process long ago. I'm just talking about it openly b/c I have it; and it's in solid reference to the topic of genetic diseases(smiles.)
Don't weep for me, nobody please! I don't.
Weep for those, whom lost the art of weeping when their hearts turned to stone.
Not referencing anyone here at IntentBlog either; just a general social reference of people, whom are cold-hearted-learned about suffering and indifference to their high expectations of others.
North
LP, not sure if you understand atonic and atrophic gastritis? It means, the stomach doesn't work, and is now dead, basicly; and can no longer tolerate food or water. I take pills to push food through, and to control stomach gas. and a pill to stop the production of stomach acid; to give the ulcer a break.
Just thought I'd mention this; because there's a huge difference between atonic and atrophic gastritis than just someone suffering from acid reflux.
Reflux is from ulcer's and overeating..mine is from a bacteria which shut the stomach down.
Helicobacter Pylori is the only known human carcinogen known to the human body. I've studied it to death years ago! NO cure, NO nothing.
My son's left kidney went this way 4 years ago when he was only 13; which started ME on a new investigation of what's up in my town!? the water?
I hit a lot of brick walls.
Anyway, don't cry for us anyone; we don't need tears. We need community and social understanding and support.
WE do not wallow in self-pity by talking about it either; we find strength in our awareness's and acceptance's.
We've moved on from self-pity long ago; it's a natural diversion; in the process of acceptance, then healing.
to living each moment for the precious moment we know it IS...in the Now; which is all that truly exists in awareness.

Faye,
Thank you so much for the kind words and a Happy New Year to you.
Concerning intelligent design and evolution.
As you know I live in Switzerland. One of the greatest things about living here is that I didn't have to hear about OJ Simpson on a daily basis for months on end. I don't know what the cast of "Friends" is up to. The daily fear that I felt among the population in Los Angeles from 9/11 until I returned to Switzerland in March of 2003 is non existent here.
As far as the debate concerning intelligent design?
There isn't a person I can find here that even knows there is a debate going on. If there is one here in Switzerland I have not been able to find it.
So when I saw Deepak on Larry King Live I had never heard of Intelligent Design. I was also confused for some weeks.
"Why couldn't the scientists except that there might be a designer?"
I did a lot of reading on Intelligent Design. My understanding of why there is disagreement between science and Intelligent Design proponents is that scientists are interested in spending their time looking into things that can be measured. Experiments that can be reproduced. They like things that can be "seen".
Since a "Designer" can not be seen nor measured and no experiments can prove a "Designer" they are just not interested in spending their time on what appears to be "chasing ones own tail'.
Some "spiritual" people even say that the "Designer" can never be known. If that is the case then the scientist would have no reason to spend the limited time he has on this planet applying scientific methods of discovery looking for something that can't be known.
To a certain degree I don't even think that the real scientist is even interested in the debate. He's busy at CERN in Geneva or working on some theory or other or looking into the heavens. The only "scientists" I've seen in the debate are paid professional specialists that give testimony in courts.
I must say though that their are a few particle physicists waiting for the completion of the new particle accelerator in CERN and I've heard them speak. They are a young new breed of physicist and privately I here Intelligent Designer in some of what I here them say they hope to find. But that's my listening of course not their words.
Concerning the issue of genetics and disease? Since I personally believe in a "Designer" you know I'm in the party that says it's whatever we create.
In the beginning was the word. It's the only thing we really have. And the word is more powerful then most people know.
Opinions are like sphincters, everyone has one.
So my opinion is that I don't go running out into the road and close my eyes and say, "the car is only my construct, the car is only my construct. I can make it go away." Constructs kill.
My dads a doctor. If he takes my blood and tells me to take a certain antibiotic, I reluctantly take it.
With that said I believe that genes are only a part of the story as geeta jayaram points out.
In fact I believe that the mind is powerful and that intent does override any blue print as Colette asks
As people here are of the opinion that not many here know about genetics, the above is only my own opinion.
But then again my father who is a scientific thinker is also of the opinion that it's all in the mind. And he's one of the best in his field.

Interesting that the EU went and made english the official business language of Europe. Also every commercial pilot in the world and every control tower at any international airport must speak english. It's the language used for all commercial international air travel.
It seems that english is well on it's way to being that one common language.
My cousin told me that when they were voting on the common language of either the U.N or the League of Nations way back when, english narrowly beat out german?

Hello and Happy New Year.
I remember being in Italy when I was young and having these long conversations with these old men. I didn't speak Italian and they didn't speak english and yet we were able to communicate although it was a bit frustrating. I remember drawing a lot of pictures in the sand.
In Prague I also found it to be difficult but not impossible. And when I first got to Switzerland it took me 6 months to begin to understand. Communication is more than just words.
And it's actually quite mind expanding to learn other languages. I tend to understand the way a culture thinks by understanding how they structure their language.

Ron,
The word 'terrorism' entered into European languages in the wake of the French revolution of 1789. In the early revolutionary years, it was largely by violence that governments in Paris tried to impose their radical new order on a reluctant citizenry. As a result, the first meaning of the word 'terrorism', as recorded by the Académie Française in 1798, was 'system or rule of terror'. This serves as a healthy reminder that terror is often at its bloodiest when used by dictatorial governments against their own citizens.
Also
"Terrorism
Terrorism is not simply a modern phenomenon. Rather, the word, along with terrorist, first appears in English in 1795 in reference to the Jacobins of France. They ruled France in what was called the Reign of Terror from 1793-94. By 1798, the term was being applied generally to anyone who attempted to achieve political goals through violence and intimidation.
The word is thought to have been coined by the Jacobins themselves, but the French terrorisme is not recorded until 1798. If the Jacobins did coin it, they are the only ones to have used it self-referentially. The term has always had negative connotations since then."

Dear Laurence PB!! good to see you at Intent! May 2006 be a great year for you Laurence.
where I am confused on manifest, intent and disease; is the fact even babies are born diseased. How can a baby intend a manifest; without cognition?
I admit when under certain stress's I can feel it physically; but, I really do have a hard time believing, I'm killing myself intentionally in the most humanly painful way of my digestive system eating me alive, inside out; because I'm stressed? lol If I intended death as an intention; surely, if I had that power; I would have chosen a much quicker, less painful way to die?

Hey Lau, best wishes to you,
How are the Swiss women BTW..? ;)
anyway,
if terror is defined as,
'system or rule of terror'
what then is the practical difference with
anarchy? or jungle law? or survival of the strongest, meanest?
here some fun sites for the kids to get indoctrinated on McTerror, with extra fun lies..

Hello North,
Very good points. I believe that there is an underlying ground of being that we are all a part of. Even babies that are not fully cognizant of the world around them (unformed ego really) have an awareness of self (ground of being). See I believe the world really is an illusion, a construct of the ground of being.
We are conflicted in our every day lives. We want to live, or so we tell ourselves this, and at the same time perform many self destructive actions.
An alcoholic may not want to die today but his actions clearly indicate a wish to annihilate.
Some of us are not even aware of our intentions. We think we intent one thing while really intending another.
The practice of meditation allows one to silence, focus and control the mind. Only them can one begin to cleanse the mind at the deepest levels. It is at the deepest levels of the mind that one begins to have any control and awareness of there true intentions.
This is not a one day event but a life long practicing.
Marek,
The Swiss honeys are hard core. They are also the most beautiful women on the planet.
I would think that anarchy is "no rule" as opposed to ruling through terror.
Dude those websites are scary.
Oh by the way. My brother realized that to run for the US Senate would mean raising millions of dollars. Since he hasn't built up a constituency with that kind of money (hasn't sold his soul to special interests) he is running for Lieutenant Governor for the state of Maryland.

Hi Laurence, good to see you, and I resonate deeply with the meditation. Much success to your brother for his election, I hope he wins!

Thanks North,
Me too.
Love it Laurence..."This is not a one day event but a life long practicing."
Also, at least now we know where the most beautiful women on the planet are :)
Wishing your brother much success in achieving his goal...Lieutenant Governor for the state of Maryland.
This State happens to be where a kindered friend of mine, Eric P. McCarty, lives. His website is www.ericpmccarty.com
I know it's just physical on the surface, but these subtle signs also remind us of the deep connections we all share constantly.
Eric, holds a beautiful soul who travelled these boards years and years ago, on the original Chopra.com prayer circles.
All the best Laurence for 2006,

'pseudo-diplomatic' trespass, mess, in other sovereign states, I would call that law of anarchie, but I do believe they call that 'intelligence', agency's and their playground ;) but, we'll read about that in history books, soon,
Nice to read, you're in good spirit,

Hi Laurence,
I am so glad that you are able to write more at Intent, and it is nice to see you back!
I am tempted to ask you - if you would meet me in a coffee shop for an afternoon, of exceptional conversation, and a big hug. You are a fascinating writer and thinker, and you talk from real life experience, with honesty and clarity.
Maybe Dave would be available. Gosh we may need all afternoon and evening for talking, and laughing, maybe a poetry read or two ( I have two Coleman Barks Rumi intepretations), and singing is one of my talents - so it could be a fun day!
~ Kate
Kate,
I would be honored. And to meet you and David sounds like something that would benefit me more then the both of you.
Do you have a coffee shop in mind?
Dear Laurence,
I do indeed, have just the perfect coffee shop, in which you and I can meet. Wouldn't it be so very nice!
Well, I may have plans to travel to Europe this summer. Which country can we meet in? :)
Until then, I will imagine that you and I and Dave and many intent bloggers, sip our coffees and teas, and bow to the deep place that unites us, one to another.
With love to you, dearest Laurence
know I think of you often

Harb, a week or so ago, when we were having that virtual party on Intent, I told you that I will tell you one story. I also added that it will be very abstract and you said not to worry, you will use Kafka-esque glasses to decipher it. So here it goes, for you, Sir (excerpt from my diary):
Once upon a time there were climbers. They climbed the heights of infinity. The feeling was inexplicable. Somewhat similar to finding gold in a soap cake or Shakuntala’s ring in the belly of a fish. They discovered joy in a room in a dark and dingy by-lane. The hole was witness to mad discussions. Emotions were narrated in feverish pitches and sometimes they were understoood.
Water would be filled in the parched radiator of an old car and the world became a stage. From C-6, they were dropped at the round-about in a new car – three of them – and without uttering a word, South Extension was conquered in an autorickshaw. Mediocrity was put in a betel leaf and chewed. One umbrella and half dry, half wet bodies - how they ruminated over this. And how goose pimples sieved through their souls. A red, old radio set was their companion and a window through which Vivaldi came to say hello. Uncles were made fools to don the belts of cow boys at the Rodeo. ‘Jhule’ was the key to bring smile on the lips of a Ladakhi waiter and spurious milk powder was knowingly bought to make someone’s day.
One would eat two, the other two and then twelve eggs were bought. Dents were produced in matresses by lying down at a spot for hours. Five hundred rupees were specially acquired from fathers to watch ‘Dil Se’ till the ‘Chaiya Chaiya’ song. And then further spent to indulge in a Pepsi and Popcorn orgy. Erasers with names written on them were worshipped and patience was tested by meeting Rama Kant Pandey in Ber Sarai. As aeroplanes flew overhead in the IIT campus, they shared his stories of failure in civil services. And then his hope of becoming a ‘Media Mogul’.
Researching works of Jim Corbett was made an excuse to discover love at Cake Point. Concept note on Gas burners was made the butt of jokes. Fruity was shared with ‘Raju Guide’ in a distant village and Santa Clauz was imitated to click funny pictures.
The larder of their heart brimmed with each others’ thoughts. Everything was a muse.
And then something snapped. As the winds of reason blew, the epidemic of normalcy spread. No pain gnawed through the heart. Agony became an endangered species and ecstasy extinct. Pantheism was mosaiced and they turned into pip-squeaks. Van Gogh’s sunflowers drooped with sorrow and cutting ears for a prostitute seemed an act of madness.
