Deepak Chopra - January 20, 2006
If you Google the phrase "Americans believe in heaven," you find that about 90% do, with 75% believing in hell and 70% in the devil. Those statistics remain fairly uniform from poll to poll; it's strange that there's a drop off between heaven and hell since the two go together.
However, it seems possible that believing in the devil is a matter of having nothing better to put in his place. Evil so perplexes people that attributing it to a cosmic Prince of Darkness provides some explanation at least. It saves the trouble of taking responsibility for it ourselves.
As a practical matter Satan is all but useless. The number of people who have met him or been possessed by him is minuscule. After coming back from near-death experiences, only a small fraction of reports picture hell and its torments; the vast majority experience a benign light and feel a divine presence. Perhaps this is a sign that Satan is withering away--over 85% of Americans say that they expect to go to heaven, and fear of hell isn't used so intensely by religion to frighten children anymore.
Despite the prominent place that sin and the devil occupies in fundamentalism of every stripe, Satan has been evolving over the years. Theologians have variously described him as an archetype, myth, psychological projection, and a symptom of guilt and shame. It is indisputable that Satan rises and falls according to changing conditions in society.
Satan becomes more real under the following conditions:
--People feel they deserve punishment instead of healing.
--A culture believes in the Satan myth.
--Believers pay attention to that myth and give it value.
--Guilt is projected outward on to demons instead of healed inside.
--Wrong-doing accumulates without a means for finding forgiveness, atonement, or purification.
--Children are put in fear of demons and told that they have power.
Satan becomes less real under the following conditions:
--People feel they deserve healing instead of punishment.
--A culture is aware of how myths are made.
--People are self-aware and take responsibility for their own emotions.
--There is a belief in forgiveness, healing, and atonement.
--Outlets for negative energies are found (through therapy, sports, open dialogue, healthy family dynamics, education, etc.)
--Children are not conditioned to believe in demons ad other external enemies.
--Society promotes the evolution of consciousness.
By these standards one can say that modern America is moving further away from Satan, as it has been for a century. Perhaps that sounds too optimistic given the prevalence of fundamentalism in the churches, but I take heart that dying people no longer tremble at the prospect of meeting Satan and that those who come back from near-death experiences haven't met him. Slim evidence, I know, but promising.
Love.

It seems to me that Satan is darker and scarier the more punishing and authoritative God is. The funny thing is that the "good" God can judge and convict, but to remain good, he has to send the sinners to hell. So Satan is doing the dirty work for him :D:P
It isn't for nothing that taking responsibility for our own thoughts and actions requires such courage. The judging God is inside and so is the torturous Satan and hey, they won't miss one move, lol... But the more we do it, the more we notice there was no sin to begin with.
Yes Dear Deepak....there's been quite a change in the last few decades regarding the concept of heaven&hell. From one perspective...there has been that Evolution but from another perspective, as you brought out in your post what happens when fundamentalism rises...when the fight flight response is triggered, it does take a dark shade.
Where is Modern America moving? Is a million dollar question now I think. I too like you and many others hope in the direction which you were tilted for in this post...but I remember one of those magical posts of yours couple of months back, how you talked abt the pitfalls America is creating under the wonderful leadership of MrBush. You had illustrated it with some wonderful examples from History, if America at this stage is not careful in seeing a wider deeper picture...it cud land in real trouble in the coming yrs.
Which one of the two will come out true more or less...time will best tell us more than anyone else. I too Hope and wish like most...but...you never know what course humanity is destined for.

Aloha Deepak
I have found your teachings very enlightening: death being quantified infinity as birth I guess the skill in life is remaining detached while being present in a realm of temporary forms. The problem with having a culture that believes in a devil/death it needs a savior/heaven. We have created a hierarchy of saviors: churches and doctors that we pay to talk to God for us and heal us. We are consumers of a socialized world that has sold us a disease with no cure. We need a culture that understands heaven and hell are just emotions we choose to experience to help us ask for another view that allows all to be present with an understanding all is of value. Love patty
one with our soul we are in heaven. one with our mind we are in hell. one with our brain/body we are in this world.
note: our brain is part of our body and as much tangible. our mind is which links us to the whole history of the universe and is thus linked in a very subtle way to the whole universe. our soul is as one with the universe as a drop of water is one with the sea.
i have named the three in my book self designed universe as
Mosc: Matter of spiritual category - same as heaven in the above explanations and hence same as soul.
Movc: Matter of virtual category - same as our mind and hence same as hell.
Mopc: Matter of physical category - same as our body and hence same as this world.
btw, these mosc, movc, and mopc, these heaven, hell and the actual world are represented as well as explored by mystics, philosophers and scientists respectively.
bye, now rack your brains, harb
wow.., love, passion,
Deepak, I think the best point you made is it takes away responsibility. Which is the reason some have a problem with the "create your reality" concept, which makes one responsible.
I agree this whole cult like fiction is rapidly approaching it's demise as people become lucid.
The traditional role of Satan in the Old Testament. Satan comes from the Hebrew satan, which means "opponent" or "adversary." According to Strong's Concordance, this word appears in 1 Chronicles, Job, Psalms, and in Zechariah. In Psalms "satan" is used both in the plural (accusers) and in the indefinite sense (an accuser). In Chronicles and Zechariah its usage is ambiguous, while in Job "satan" as The Accuser appears only in the first two of its 42 chapters. It is important, however, to keep in mind that the texts of the Old Testament did not reach their "final" version until after the Babylonian exile. Before this exile there is no evidence in Hebrew scriptures of an Accuser as a force that opposes God, and even after the exile it is still doubtful. Though the story of Job is very old, its final version is dated after the exile, after the Hebrews came into contact with the dualist Zoroastrian religion with its god of good and its god of evil.
There is even division among Old Testament scholars as to whether evil should be associated with Satan at all. Some say that Satan was originally not considered evil but gradually became identified with his unpleasant functions. According to this approach, Satan is still God's servant. There is much in the Book of Job that tends to support this view. Satan appears only in the first two chapters and then disappears. Some believe the first two chapters were added much later, for in the last chapter we read: ". . . they showed him sympathy and comforted him for all the evil that the Lord had brought upon him" (42:11).
It appears that the Hebrews did not have a devil-like power opposed to God. Satan, or the Satan as he is often called, is an angel in the court of God with the function of an accuser (see Job 1:6). There are also indications that along with all that is "good," all that is "evil" comes from God, not Satan. In Isaiah 45:7 God says: "I form light and create darkness, I make weal and create woe; I the Lord do all these things." Valentine's Jewish Encyclopedia confirms the idea that there is a radical difference between how Satan is conceived in the Old Testament and how he is conceived in the New Testament, and that his new role did not develop from his original role: there are no references "to rebellious angels in any pre-Christian book. . . . The figure of Satan in the Hebrew Bible and in the New Testament respectively emphasizes the difference in conception. There is no development, but basic difference. . . . It is only in Christian literature that the Persian idea of two opposing empires, with Satan as God's enemy, has persisted" (Valentine's Jewish Encyclopedia, A. M. Hyamson & A. M. Silberman eds., Shapiro, Valentine & Co, London, 1938, p. 36).
There is actually very little in the Old Testament to support the idea of Satan as a rebellious angel and the power opposing God. He is generally depicted as a heavenly attorney general (accuser) functioning under God, and this only strengthens the argument for not reading Satan into the passage about Lucifer in Isaiah 14:12. Isaiah is one of the older books in the Bible and is definitely pre-exile.
Is there any difference between Lucifer and Satan? Westerners generally would say they are one and the same. Especially those in fundamentalist Christian circles consider Lucifer an archangel who fell from grace and was thrown out of heaven because of "sinful pride." His "sin" was thinking he was equal to God and rebelling against Him. This rebellious angel is known as Satan, Lucifer, or the Devil, who tempts us to do evil. Supposedly, one of the most evil things Lucifer tempts us to do is to think that we are God. So those who believe in the essential divinity of all life are often accused of committing Satan's sin, and of being under the influence of Lucifer. Where do these ideas about Satan and Lucifer come from? Is there a biblical basis for them?
Lucifer means lightbringer, from the Latin lux "light" and ferre "to bear or bring." The word Lucifer is found in only one place in the Bible -- Isaiah 14:12 -- but only in the King James and related versions: "How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! . . ." The New Revised Standard Version translates the same passage as "How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, Son of Dawn!" In other translations we find: "O shining star of the dawn!" (Moffatt) or "O morning-star, son of the dawn!" (Hebrew Bible). The King James Version is based on the Vulgate, the Latin translation of Jerome. Jerome translated the Hebrew helel (bright or brilliant one) as "lucifer," which was a reasonable Latin equivalent. And yet it is this lucifer, the bright one or lightbearer, that came to be understood by so many as the name for Satan, Lord of Darkness.
In Isaiah 14 the prophet is taunting the king of Babylon: "In the figurative language of the Hebrews, . . . a star, signifies an illustrious king or prince . . . The monarch here referred to, having surpassed all other kings in royal splendour, is compared to the harbinger of day, whose brilliancy surpasses that of the surrounding stars" (A Cyclopedia of Biblical Literature, John Kitto ed., 3rd ed., J. B. Lippincott and Co, Philadelphia, 1866, 2:857-8). There are those who claim that the real entity addressed in this passage is Satan, but there is no evidence for this. On the contrary, Isaiah (14:16) says: "Is this the man who made the earth tremble, . . . ?" and (14:18) "All the kings of the nations lie in glory, each in his own tomb; but you are cast out . . ." These seem clear references to a man, the king of a nation, not an archangel.
Dear Harb,
Oh, now my brains have been racked, when I was sure I would have a rack-free day! :)
I look forward to reading your book, and to see North's front cover design!
I know the Power of Myths, as no one is immune to the stories which are passed down through generations. Many stories contain deep Truths, like the pearls within the oyster.
Dear Deepak,
Thank you for reminding us to choose - healing over punishment, taking responsibility for our emotions, extending forgiveness to others, and ourselves - and to be willing to keep evolving consciously.
Love,
~ Kate
Sometimes you wonder how much "Hollywood" helps perpetuate certain myths. How many fail to see the allegorical nature of things written.
What is at issue is how many people in government and other position might be making real world decisions based on myth or misperception based on fictions.
It appears that the whole story of Lucifer as Satan, the fallen rebellious angel, is based entirely on non-canonical sources: the so-called Apocrypha and Pseudepigrapha. There are also many pre-Christian myths and allegories that include stories about Lucifer, which is the Latin name for the Greek Eosphoros. In his Theogony Hesiod speaks of two divine beings, the brothers Eosphoros (the morning star) and Hesperos (the evening star). They are the children of Astraios (the starry heaven) and Eos (the dawn). The morning star, like the Virgin of the Sea, is one of the titles given to Divine Mother goddesses such as the Roman Venus, the Phoenician Astarte, the Jewish Ashtoreth, and the later Christian Holy Virgin. In the oldest Zoroastrian allegories, Mithra is supposed to have conquered the planet Venus. In the Christian tradition, Michael defeats Lucifer.
The planet Venus is the lightbringer, the first radiant beam that does away with the darkness of night. It is a symbol of the development of the divine light in man, for the first awakening of self-consciousness, for independent thinking and the real application of free will. It means the bringing of the light of compassionate understanding to the human mind. In this broader view the connection of the morning star with Jesus makes good sense, because compassion is the essence of Jesus' teaching. This teaching shows the greatest consensus throughout the New Testament: it is mentioned in Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Romans, Galatians, 1 Thessalonians, Hebrews, 1 John, James, and 1 Peter. The best known reference is in Matthew (22:37-40):
Harb,
Why do you think that the ....'stuff' you just wrote above is the way it is? Harbie, you are not sedated, are you?
You, to me, sound like one of those clever opportunists of ancient times who wrote the Bible, Quran and Vedas, telling 'innocent' folks how god inspired you so while you were meditating.:)
aj, even though god inspired me i do not tell anybody/innocent folks like that. i try my best rather to demystify all this. which is why i rather say that i was inspired when i took a few pegs of old monk even though i rarely take it lol.
thank you though to compare me with those writers of bible, quran and vedas... i wish i knew what somras they took lol.
Hi Deepak, I like this topic. I have been reading on this. I am just writing what comes to my mind. This is the gist of many many books and my intuition as it stands today.
Why do we need to go looking for a cosmic prince of darkness, or Satan, when there are millions of them right here on earth among us masquerading as our spouses, siblings, children, friends, relatives, co-workers,etc? Their main goal in life is to advance their own interest at the cost of anything. These are the people who hurt others, have no remorse, are completely selfish, have no concept of what is right and what is wrong. They may come across as nice, and kind, but sooner or later you will see the real dark entity behind those sweet words. These are the people who will not hesitate to hurt, kill, or abuse physically, mentally. They drain you of all the positive energy. If you have one of these in your home, you feel drained always. It is not always easy to tell them apart. They are great actors. They believe we owe them something.Their motto in life is "what can I get out of this?" Some of them you love because they are your kins.
So what do we do? Once you know some one is negative, stay away from that person, if you can. Surround yourself with good, wholesome, positive people. How to tell if a person is positive? Positive people always think of the larger picture, their deeds are for the welfare of others. It does not matter on what scale this welfare of others is. A very caring physician, a devoted nurse, a teacher who loves to teach, a stock broker who always looks for the welfare of his clients, a mother who sacrifices everything for the welfare of her family, her children, a garbage picker who is sweet and kind, a blue collar worker who works his butt off so his family can be taken care of. They are everywhere.
Surround ourselves with positive thoughts, and positive actions.
Look to the things that are nurturing, because they speak of the divine, such as the beautiful sea,the river, the streams, the mountains, the old trees, the animals especially pets.
Pray, pray, pray. Meditate, meditate, meditate.Believe in the healing, forgiving, loving, benevolent God.Realise that we are all part of that beautiful Divine, that this life is transient, just a bad summer camp. Do not acquire any more bad karma.Do not harm any one by thought, word, or deed.
Good wholesome food, vegetables, fruits, pranayama, or breathing exercises, yoga, good wholesome books to read, nurturing music, that soothes the mind and soul, social service can all augment the positivity.
Sorry Deepak it is too long God bless.
aj, and oh, why do i think the stuff is like i say? oh it is as clear as the thing called love-at-first-sight is...when one has that experience...and 'sees' it from there.
anyway, i have said what i know to be true but i dont force anybody to swallow it. moreover, here are no so innocent a people...all are quite learned here...so let me enjoy myself lol.
Wow, Deepak, this is a great article. Nothing has been more irritating to me than to hear members of my own family talk about "the Devil"--someone in my immediate family loves to say "the Devil is real" with this odd inflection in their voice like they have some profound insight into the matter. It was good to read your article as it absolutely makes me cringe when I hear talk about "the Devil". Cheers to making "Satan" a thing of the past!
Deeapak,
Beautiful post.
As I read it, I am also getting aware that the source of calling something evil is the inability to forgive. What I make somebody or something ,it "occurs" to me as evil or bad. I am getting present to that in the human world there is no absolute "good" or absolute "evil", it is so context sensitive. Wow!
Dear Geeta...I can feel the pain with which you've talked. It is sad but true that the world is filled with such people, more so, as you talked rt in your closest circles....in the family. That atmosphere can be draining and killing.
Ideally yes, you've to be away from that kind of negativity and build yourself up to a stage where it shudn't hurt you inside, and as you pointed out shud be around positive people and things which is in plenty even in today's era. It def helps.
Life is transient...True! Bad summer camp?...Not always...One can make it good summer camp. I do agree though when we are going thru' a bad phase it feels like that...but as you say it's transient which means the good as well as the bad periods both are transient, alternating with each other.
There's lot of Good coming your way Geeta, I can tell you that. Your good summer camp will soon start. Have Faith! God bless!
Love...Sachin
Funny, the more fundamentalist one is, fanatical about Jesus and the Bible and all that, the more they believe and use the idea of Satan and evil. I call that projection. Their own struggles within, to reconcile their own anger, hate, intolerance, lust and urges to get kinky, are what produce the intense guilt and fear that bring the image of the Devil up for use on the pulpit. And doesn't the invention of the Devil have to do with the genocide of the nature religions in Europe, the Druids and others like them? Pan, and the aspects of nature they worshiped probably got lumped together in a beastly image. That would help justify the murdering rampages the Christians perpetrated on all those so called witches during the Middle Ages. Can we just wake up and face our own demons?
Yeah but didn't Satan say, "To reign is worth ambition, though in Hell: Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven" Paradise Lost Book I
That is a George Bush, er, oops, John Milton quote.
I thought after Milton and John Calvin, Satan was proven to exist, in fact, did they not burn a bunch of witches because Satan had become so powerful in Pilgrim America, those nasty wenches and those devilish red-men.
Of ocurse we need the women, yet I am rather perplexed we allowed any of those "Native savages" to survive: see how kind those WASPs are, keep an extras supply I suppose, so if there is not a drty commie, or kraut, around, we can alway start on the red-man again
Mexicans make much better servants/illegal slaves anyway. . .
It's nice to know that Satan's employement is coming to an end. Hopefully he has a good pension set up with the fundamentalist.
I for one have never quite understand the idea of Satan as a evil ex-angel who wrecks havoc on the world. Whatever works!
Friends,
Why are 21st century people still discussing Heaven and Hell and God?
Boy, we truly are grappling in the pits of the dark ages!
Hell, all the frauds of yore who made up their stories about their encounters with god succeeded in scaring the crap out of an ill-informed public. Because of the times they existed, they could get away with it. But not now!
One must enquire: why is god not inspiring new books to be written, provable miracles to happen in our time and sagely prophets to tell us about the hereafter....? All this crap happened in dubious times in man's history! Surprised?
People, get a grip on reality and deprogram yourselves from age-old nonsense and live and celebrate life to the fullest because it is the only one you are ever going to have. The truth is sometimes too discomfitting and too discomforting!
Hell, Heaven and Hell and God are simply the creations of man's twisted imagination. Period!
Good day!
I guess you could call me a radical protestant too, except, in 'my' worldview, we destroy the guns and make plows instead, we do not make more guns to show you how enlightened we are.
We appreciate, and even learn from Dr. Chopra, from Scott, from Ron, from North, from AmbaSteve, etc., and we peacefully, democratically resove our differences: like abortion, the United States can have it outlawed, and Canada can have it legal, we could have all of the pot smokers go to California (and Washington State too please), and have all of the millenial Protestants in some field in Israel
just ideas (har har har)
Massive population juxtapositions, free and open travel to anybody, and you know, I know dudes who would be a plumber just because they like being plumbers
As a matter of fact plumbers should make two hundred thousand a year wtih the best benefits on the face of this planet, they are far more important than another lawyer, wanting to make more laws, and crying for more money at the same time
lawyers are expendable a plumber will always be needed
It is nice writing a book on philosophy, and pondering whether we are even real in this possible world; but, if your toilet does not flush, you got problems. . .
Same goes for those criminal dudes that wash your nice shiny SUVs, and you throw a dollar to them saying, "good job boy;" and that 'boy' is a Native or African American who is 40 years old, and was guaranteed to go to prison before he was even born. . .
Justice will be done on this world, the question being, are we all together going to bring justice to this world, or are we going to allow these governments to destroy it, and us?
Craig,
That was Cotton Mather who burned the witches in Salem...but he was a Calvinist :).
Interesting post Deepak. Satan has become a handy scapegoat over the years. For as much publicity as the old horny devil gets(whoops...that'd be me), rather...the fallen angel gets, he really appears in the bible very little. And when he does his role is a fairly minor one. He's given credit for the shitty deal that poor old Job has to deal with, when in fact Satan just mentions to God that Job wouldn't be such a holy, pious fellow if he didn't have such a great life. Of course God chimes in with a "would to"... then proceeds to kill all his kids and his wives and then give Job a terrible case of acne with not one bottle of Clearesil to be found all in an attempt to win a bet with Satan. It's God that does it not Satan. Of course IMHO the story of Job is about the natural experiences of man and about the simple lesson of bad things happen to good people. And more deeply about the nature of illusion.
Anyway, interesting topic.
Peace,
Scott.
Scott,
Yeah, I know it was Mather, yet, they took Calvin's fire and brimstone to the hilt, and many Protestants still think of him as a prophet. . .
The reason why I am so into the Scripture thing, is because when these dudes start persecuting us, US, I am gonna shove 'their' Scripture down their throat. . .
I will even direct them to Scripture that speaks exclusively of me, then what they gonna do, kill 'their' Christ again???
Peace Scott
Dear Deepak,
I do not believe in Satan. I believe man has sole responsibility for evil actions. And these actions can only be chosen by individuals whose consciousness is obscured by ego. There is no grander, demonic scheme.
As a child I was fascinated (and of course terrified) by reproductions of the painting by an Italian Renaissance artist, Luca Signorelli. In his representation of the last judgment, the demons had wings and scary faces. That was the last time I believed in Satan. Since childhood, I have felt the existence of God. Peak experiences confirm it. As for the demonic forces, I have never found the slightest indication of their reality.
Love,
Donatella
IF BELIEF CREATE REALITY...
SATAN OR NO SATAN ,BOTH ARE TRUE
Dear Dr. Chopra,
I think Richard did a very good job on re- capping the evolution, and biblical references to Satan. I agree with him, and Isaiah, 45:7
God says: "I form light and create darkness, I make weal and create woe; I the Lord do all these things."
God covers both sides.
The physical world is just a lesson in over coming duality.
The Church is like the Medical profession, or Law, or Politics They are fear driven industries, that need devils, disease, defendants, and even Democrats to keep everyone paying up. These institutions are all born out of the abnormal energy know as "Doctrine". This energy is only one step above "Bias" "Prejudice" and "Opinion", and two steps above "Dogma"!
The main problem with Christians is they try and make Jesus "Divine" in order to escape responsibility.
It's OK for Jesus to be God, but Satan sure as hell better not try it!
I think Scott has seen it clearly with his insight that it's really about the nature of illusion.
Respectfully,
Stan
Dang Richard: very good, awesome in fact!
I too draw heavily upon Isaiah.
Peace brother
Very, very close Richard, but not close enough, as 100% accuracy is required in Truth. I counted 3 to 4 errors in your posts and then I lost interest. However, you have done your homework and you are much, much better than I am - but when we project and make stuff up in our heads from what we believe to be true, that's when we lose our audience, as I am guilty of as well. We all know the Truth, as it is imprinted on each and every one of us, but we have a difficult time sharing the wisdom that we find within our hearts. Maybe that is why we are here talking about the Truth as we dig her up. But I wanted to say that I really enjoyed your posts. Thanks!
Deepak is good and I cannot pin him down, so I will just ponder up his insights above.
Stan caught the main point about it being all the same being behind everything. God can't kill himself but he sure can have a bad experience. Thanks Craig, I think the bible gets quoted a lot but not really read.
If you are dying in the desert from the heat of the sun you might think it evil, if your enjoying it's warmth on a cool day, or after a night of shivering in the cold it is good. But the Sun is neither evil or good it just is.
So are the characters God plays, they just are. Some are ignorant and some are wise. Some hold love and some hold fear.
Humans are simply tempted by their own desire not some force.
Everyone dislikes being awakened from a good dream and there is great relief upon waking from a bad dream. Yet it is most thrilling when one becomes lucid in the dream, and takes control.
May may we all become lucid together so that we can dream the best dream of all and that none would endure a nightmare.
Deepak is good and I cannot pin him down, so I will just ponder up his insights above.

Char, I was just playing, I don't have any beliefs, sometimes I just pretend to when I make believe.
There is knowing and there is belief. Knowing is reality, and belief is Illusion.
I know that I exist, I know the experience of a rock, the light from the sun, and the experience of love, everything else is a fabrication, and an elaborate fiction and the only thing real about that is the experience.

33For this [is] the covenant that I make, With the house of Israel, after those days, An affirmation of Jehovah, I have given My law in their inward part, And on their heart I do write it, And I have been to them for God, And they are to me for a people.
34And they do not teach any more Each his neighbour, and each his brother, Saying, Know ye Jehovah, For they all know Me, from their least unto their greatest, An affirmation of Jehovah; For I pardon their iniquity, And of their sin I make mention no more.

Jeremiah was a bullfrog, he was good friend of mine. I never understood a single word he said but I helped him drink his wine. He always had some mighty fine wine. Sing it Joy to the
world...all the boys and girls now , joy to the fishies in the deep blue sea and joy to you and me.
And if i were the king of the world , i tell you what i would do. Id throw away the cars and the bars in the world and id make sweet love to you.
Sing it now : Joy the the world , all the boys and girls , joy to the fishies in the deep blue sea , joy to you and me.
God has been writing for a mighty long time.
Okay Richard, now I get it, as I was forced to quote a Bible verse as I thought that was where you were coming from. I use the Bible as my key, but I don't glean from it as most who hold it dearly. As with yourself, the only way we can know is through experience, thereby creating wisdom. Understanding is critical and I pray for the heart of God everyday. I see Christians as Beloved Babies, who can be easily mislead by anyone with knowledge, so my heart is always triggered to respond. Don't get me wrong, I love God with all my heart and I pray through Jesus as I was told by Spirit to "Be a Christian." I don't see the limitations as many might invision, but I see the beginning of a vast sea of knowledge for those who cannot reach God by their own virtues. Jesus is a helper for those who need assistance to the path to God. My path was selected for me, even when I pondered upon which one to take. My path is a painful and difficult road, with many hardships if I am to wake up the Babies. In the morning, I beg God to let me go back to sleep and a night I pray that I will never wake again. Love, Char
Oh and I am still asleep myself! ... in this maze of haze, I cannot see my image.
Sweetheart ... you are on the same page :-)
Humm ... or maybe you are a page or two ahead of me!
Don't you find it lonely if you are to far ahead of flock? And what about relating with others when all they want to do is stone you because you are trying to wake them up when all they want to do is sleep in peace?
Wisdom is painful, as the sun burns the waking eyes. But once opened, the fruit is sweet upon the lips as the warmth feeds the heart from the light of truth.
Oh well, I am going to sleep now .....
Belief regulates end.
Who can tell the difference between knowing and belief?
Am I awake or am I asleep?
Is this yet but another dream or is it reality?
I pinch myself over and over again ... each time I wake up in another dream.
Speaking of Satan. . .
Some of you may have read my posts about me uncle (but really more like my dad), dying last month, and the red-head who broke me
so anyway, when school started a few weeks ago, me been a good boy, but during the holiday season when I was out carousing, I seen a childhood sweetheart,
and so last night getting tired of being a hermit, I go to the pub where she is tending
on my way home after a few brewskis I of course cannot stop after I have had a few, so I stop at the downtown pubs, and lo and behold there is the crackman,

He was only trying to bond with me the only way 'we' have ever known how to bond; but, when I come down off 'the shit' I get downright suicidal . . .

Craig,
I am hearing you loud and clear brother. I have been through the loss of a red head, and had many wild rides on the dragon myself in years past, in many of his forms. From reading your posts I can tell you are a very talented soul Craig, which unfortunately means you will have to go through the roughest times. I also think you may be American Indian. That really doesn't matter, what matters is that YOU have My support and my attempts to understand.
I beleive Life has something wonderful waiting for you ,and you just gotta get ready for it. Dat means keeping your nose to the grind stone for a while and saying no to the Dragons. I am sure many of us here are pulling for you. I know I am!
Please accept my concern.
Peace, and courage,
Your Brother

Dear Craig,
I too feel that you are a talented and sensitive soul. I so much admire the way you observe what is happening with you, without blinking. You seem unshakable in your knowingness that there is something better than the context you find yourself in right now.
It seems that you are longing for a new context. When your habits take you to the pub, maybe you can give yourself the gift of a new direction, something that makes you happy. It can be the gym, the library or a park. If you walk the same road, you will always get to the same place, so you have to find new ways if you want to get someplace else... Good luck and all my love to you!

Char,
Maybe you don't really want to wake all the way up. If you did you might really be lonely and bored. The idea is to dream a good dream and realize you are the dreamer.
There are very few people I can really talk to, and it is almost like two can't be one at the same time there isn't anything to talk about anyway, I mean what are you going to say to yourself? since we already know and there is nothing to do but play the game of life.
Events can be much more interesting though.
Is it lonely? The world is my companion and that is why I put up with it, couldn't ask for better in spite of how it is. Okay it could be better which makes for an interesting challenge and we wouldn't want to be without those.
You know the truth is you are the only one that lives your life, and the only one that is always there, which means you live your life alone.
But the world makes for great company.
interesting that satan has managed to survive so long...indicates to me, subconscious desires to control in the collective consciosuness..satan , to me , is a manifest of the desire to control...while the desire to control itself is an emergence in fear....
Hi Deepak
I'd be one of the 20% who believe in heaven but not the devil.
I believe there is something beyond this life. This something beyond life is what I equate with heaven. (But my idea of heaven is not a white-clouds, blue-sky place, or even a place we can understand from here. My idea is that it's a less obscured participation in the universe of which we're all a part.)
I don't believe that there's a place and/or being somewhere in space/time that's assigned specifically for punishment.
From everything I've observed, cruelty and punishment are an expression of a long-term reaction to, and sharing of, the effects of traumas earlier in the lives of those being cruel or punishing.
Because I consider all living things to be individual expressions of a continuum of spirit, all living things would need to participate in the possibility of facing the devil in hell, if these existed. In other words, all living things -- including those not of the human race -- would need to show some sign that they are capable of acts that would place them in hell, since all living things are part of the same continuum of spirit to which humans belong (as I see it). If cruelty and punishment are the effects of previous trauma, which is what I believe, living things other than humans would not be exempt from exhibiting cruel or punishing behavior, as they certainly suffer traumas as great as, if not greater than, those we suffer. Yet I've never seen or heard of deliberate cruelty or punishment in the natural world outside the human race.
Cheers, Heather
Dear Heather,
Where is Heaven?
Hi AJ
Space-time continuum, string theory, posit muliple universes. Near death experiences seem to show that one can be outside the body watching the sad and frantic action while appearing to be dead to onlookers. Where is "here"? Where is "heaven"? I don't know.
That's why "...my idea of heaven is not a white-clouds, blue-sky place, or even a place we can understand from here. My idea is that it's a less obscured participation in the universe of which we're all a part."
Cheers, Heather

“Governments are far too dependent on the economic beneficiaries of the war machines to expect from them a decisive step toward the abolition of war in the near future. I believe serious progress can be achieved only when men become organized on an international scale and refuse, as a body, to enter military or war service. The peoples of the world must be made to realize that no government is justified in expecting its citizens to engage in activities which traditional morality considers criminal. What the Quakers have achieved on a religious basis must become the common conviction of all serious human beings” (135 ‘Einstein on Peace.’ Eds, Otto Nathan, and Heinz Norden, New York: Simon and Schuster, 1960).

CRAIG!!!
I don't think I've ever responded to any of your comments before, but I felt inspired to this time.
I've had similar experiences to your's. You know, been there, done that--different stuff, same brain damaging chemicals.
I'm changed now--I haven't had any harsh stuff in a year and four months. My only addiction left is smoking (and well, chocolate). I hate those darn things!!!
Why did I quit using that crap? I had a couple close calls--it would've killed me sooner or later.
Who knew that I was able to make a change like that? But I did--not without help though.
Do whatever it takes Craig. Change your mind. Do not give up. YOU have all the power you need.

Otherwise, really interesting topic here Deepak. Lots of intriguing comments everyone.
Once I realized what I call the "truth", I realized there was absolutely no devil. It couldn't have made sense.
Growing up, I had many influences into believing there was a devil--very well conditioned. The devil freaked me out big time when I was little. The fear was huge.
Getting informed was what stopped the fear.
I could no longer use the phrase "The devil made me do it".

Craig,
Sorry about the loss, I have a field tested solution to this type addiction. It is part of the plan to eliminate the world’s drug problems.
I came up with this 20 years ago when I was in Florida it worked for anyone that tried it.
What happens with cocaine whether you snort it or smoke it is rapid neurotransmitter depletion mostly of dopamine and norepinephrine
So suddenly you have low levels of these neurotransmitters and the associated negative effects. The body cannot naturally keep up with the rate of depletion.
You take more cocaine to get them back up, sort of squeezing the system. It is a vicious circle and eventually the system will crash.
The solution is to allow the body to quickly replace the depleted neurotransmitter supply.
This is done by taking L-Phenylalanine (500 mg), Vitamin C (1000mg), and vitamin B6 or even better P5P.
The last two are needed for the conversion process
L-phenylalanine > L-tyrosine, > L-DOPA, norepinephrine, epinephrine. The allows the body to quickly replace the depleted stores of the neurotransmitters.
The effect is that it will sensitize one to cocaine, requiring less of the drug, and eliminates the craving breaking the vicious circle. The actual end result is that you no longer desire it the result being you lose interest in the drug and it easier to say no because you have no craving.
One will need to research it for their self. One can buy it at any health food store. Always get capsules not tablets. Obviously if one has PKU (phenylketonuria) those born with a genetic deficiency that prevents them from metabolizing phenylalanine they cannot use this approach. One should also monitor blood pressure and especially if one has hypertension.
P5P is an active form of vitamin B6. Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate (P5P) is the coenzyme for all enzymes involved in the conversion process for amino acids. P5P is also needed for hemoglobin production as well as for fatty acid and prostaglandin metabolism.* In addition, P5P is necessary for neurotransmitter production, specifically for the production of dopamine, noradrenaline, serotonin, GABA and glutamate.*

Hello everyone,
I haven't posted in a long time but I still come to read everyday! I just wanted to share this quote by Mike Dooley that someone emailed me today:
"You do know, or course, why you're here - don't you?
Because you couldn't resist the challenge.
Nothing in all creation, not in any sphere of the Universe, compares to being born into time and space without any recollection of your past; having to find your own way when lost, your own courage when frightened, and the infinite powers at your disposal when challenged; left to the elements to rediscover your supremacy over them; driven by your passions so that you might rise above your humble, naked beginnings, and ultimately see through the illusions that had trapped you. To find yourself, once again, high above the throne of thy Kingdom come from whence it all began.
Either that, or you were dared."

Deepak: Here is my take in a little paragraph:
He was sad 5 years ago. Today he is dead. He was introduced to an intoxicant in his darkest hour. Soon the intoxicant was the only recourse in all hours of the day. It brought bliss in sadness.. and the bliss extended. The heart was corroding; the tongue slipping; and the voice breaking. But it was blissful. The pain of pain was miffed. He did not feel it. He was not supposed to.
Today the final hour came. His body could not take it any longer. It had decayed. But he did not know. He was too blissful. He is gone now. But it was good .. bliss .. while it lasted. Ask his friends. They carry the bottle of bliss on from him. The coroner is anxious.

You know in after thought I think the most important point Deepak made was that 90% of Americans have been hypnotized by The Cult.
If you think about it objectively if you "believe" in heaven you suffer from psychosis.
So 90% of the nation is psychotic?
Okay I say that with refrain, because heaven can mean so many things, and no it would not be a full blown case of psychosis, just a mild one.
There is also no such thing as reincarnation if you think you are your ego. The ego dies with the body, only essence persists.
You have one other option; you are really some where else in a manner of speaking and are engaging in the greatest play in the universe.
Richard,
I have to part company with you on this one. You said:
"There is also no such thing as reincarnation if you think you are your ego. The ego dies with the body, only essence persists."
For me, Re-incarnation is the only logical explanation for todays world, not re-incarnation of the ego, just of the soul. If and When you can remember some of your past lives perhaps you'll change your mind.
Cheers,
Stan
Stan,
I have lots of memories, but I don't know if it is just that I tune into them or lived them. Knowing the state nature of the universe I could perhaps live all of them or peer into them at any time, because I am peering from outside of space and time.
Furthermore the witness is The Witness, behind all. I don't really expect you to understand that.
I don't know if you ever experienced this, but I will witness something, an event through the eyes of another as if I am there, (while sleeping of course) I will even feel the emotions, and it is if I am making the decision, but it certainly is not part of this life even though it is not like a dream but a real event with all the normal boundaries and limitations.
It seems as though reality is that there is only One Being and that is both noun and verb.
You can rest assure I don't really know for sure and I don't want to, and will continue to pretend not to, I do know what I experience.
I have a memory of my birth and the five minutes before I came here, I remember where I came from, I don’t remember anything of before I stepped into that room. It was as if I came with a single memory. I remember the dread of coming here but I had to as if it was a chosen task. Now I don’t know if that actually happened I just have the memory.
I could have always existed of only just came into existence this morning and download the memories of the life of Richard.
Can we get any deeper then that?
On the Subject of past lives.....
I myself have had a number of experiences where by I have recalled an event that some part of me had taken a part in at some point or time in history, the most detailed experiences I have had of a past life was during meditation where by I had lost all sense of location to this body and became aware of a different state of consciousness. In spiritual Cirlces you will meet many people who say they have became aware of a past life before, when I used to practice with the Ching Hai group I met a guy there who had an experience where by he was in WWII in France and he was running down an embankment and he had the experience of being shot in the back and dying. I have spoken with masters on this subject before and they say not to share these experiences with other people, they say that any experience you have during meditation will give you a lift or some kind of boost and if you share that expereince with another then the energy will be lost. I don't know...to be honest I do not profess to know what happens to your soul after death, I can only speculate if I wanted to speculate. Somethings remain a mystery for good reason maybe. I think it is possible that people are having expereinces of past lives all of the time, however they just pass them off as dreams or deja vu when infact they are accessing a part of themselves that has wittnessed other lifetimes or even other lifeforms.
Re-incarnation may just be one of many possibilities that we can choose from after the death of the Body/Mind Ego. The speculations can go on forever really.
I remember Bubba Free John said that when his father was dying he told him that when he dies he will become aware of many different colors of light and they will be so wonderful that you will be drawn in towards them and one will seem brighter than all the rest, he told his father to ignore all of the colours of light and move towards the Brightest White Light. He explained that these colors are kind of like a test of nature that you can choose to go in any direction you want, but the brightest white light is totality, if you are drawn in towards the brightest light then you have no more need for physical experience, you will be at one with the divine again.
Very Interesting subject.
Love Simon
That's pretty deep Richard.
Reminds me of a story My Teacher told me about the soul in heaven who wanted to come back to the earth plain, since things can be resolved here so much faster than they can be in the heavens.
The Teachers warned him that he would forget everything once he arrived here. It seems he was some sort of a tribal witch doctor in his last life, and had found a beer cap lid in the jungle, that he thought was the "Eye of Horurs" He also had a found a seven pointed set of antler horns which he had cherished as the " Seven pointed Spear of Zeus".
When he returned to the heavens after his death he quickly realized the folly of those beliefs, and told the teachers that next time he could remember what was what.
Having "free will" he ignored their advise not to try it, and he re-incarnated. As he was coming down through the seven levels that lead to the earth plain, he kept repeating "beer cap lid", "Antlers", "Beer Cap Lid", "Antlers", as he passed the sixth level and began to exit the womb of his new Mother. He exclaimed "Eye of Horurs" "Seven Pointed spear of Zeus"!
This is how fast we forget! Like you shared relative to your own birth. Remembering your birth at all is a sign of a very advanced soul.
Truth is, most lives are only a few short mins. of learning and the rest, a big repeat.
As for the other experience you shared, about being in someone else, there are teachings that suggest that we may be living several earth lives at once, connected by a higher self. I have felt this sometimes, but not all that clearly. I am clear that I have been here before.
Kind Regards
Stan

The arrogance of man refuses to accord him the humility to accept his one-time shot at life, thus making his delusional and self-confident into 'believing', falsely, that there has got to be more to it. Reality is more difficult to accept than fantacy!

to accept that he might be mistaken.

Stan,
Why is man so perpetually obsessed with what the order of things might be? Is it his place to be so concerned, so preoccupied?
In all cultures in history, the manifestation of guesswork is abundantly and evidently clear. If there is a life continuum or a life hereafter, why are we so preoccupied with that IF? Is it our business to indulge in guesswork?
If, if ifs? Who gives a damn?
If there is a god and all the porous, tenuous mythical places awaiting man, then, shouldn't that god tell us so in no uncertain terms? Why is it that man, us, are the ones who are perpetually involved in such wild and ridiculous speculations?
Hell, what will be will be and Let the gods come down and tell us what is right and what is wrong. They can perhaps use English as their language of choice! Why is man continually purporting to know what the 'gods' know? This obsession and propensity sound too bogus and too fraudulent to me!
The other animals in the wild, of which we are integrally and genetically interwoven, do not similarly indulge in such weird and ridiculous rituals! We are the only species that think we know it all? Why is man doing all the talking, all the speculation while the gods are always reticent? How strange indeed!
That could be true AJ so it is best we cover all the bases.
If there are past lives it would be a curse not to be able forget them.
I mean how often does one need to remember another movie one watched in the past while watching one in the present?
Has everyone experienced familiar dream places?
In other words in the dream state you have a memory and a familiarity with a place, that you do not have in waking. In fact the place does not exist in your waking experience.
I wonder how we would explain that?
I wonder how we would explain that?

Here's my esoteric 2 cts,
The Observer, experiences, The Maya Realms, through the frequentie of brainwaves and state
of 'awareness', or was that Ego conditioning..?
Love to read what Simons thoughts are,
With Love, Passion,
Friends,
From my point of view, I really do not think it needs to be explained. I recently had an experience of a past life and by co-incidence you happen to be talking about Pat lives right now. The experience I have had of this woman was that she was 38 when she died, I knew where she lived, I knew that she had a daughter and I knew her daughters name and for a while I knew everything about her including her name Jacqueline Hays, I know she lived in South London around the late 60's early 70's. I could if I wanted set out to prove the existence of this woman, however.... I probably won't as I just dont think it is important enough to be proven, I have all of the proof I need, Proof for me is in my very own existence, the very fact that something as amazing and Miraculous as the Human Body/Mind can exist is testiment that anything is possible. It is also not just Humanity that is Miraculous but the entire Universe is a Miraculous and spectacular sequence of events beyond anything you can possible comprehend in this state of mind.
AJ comments as he/she ussualy does that this is all garbage and that we are seperate beings and that we have one shot at life. AJ speaks from this point of view out of lack of real expereince and real understanding, AJ Has bought the package... AJ has fell for the 5 card trick by beliving the Ego and beliving this Phsyco Pathology that they have deemed to be )normal( .
From their seperate selfs point of view, from the point of view of the ignorant mind then they are the only absoloute, they are their own universe condensed into a mind the size of a matchbox. It is terrifying for the ignorant self centered mind to have to surrender to the truth that they are not the centre of the universe and that they are insignificent compared to the reality of the omnipresent being, I sympathise with them and know what it is like.
I'm Glad Heather...you took it in a good spirit. Maybe now you can take me in some Good Weather:)) Kidding! But yeah we may join for a talk on some thread sometime.
It's a good debate going here I think. It can be exciting on the Blog.
Cheers..Sachin
Simon: "From their seperate selfs point of view, from the point of view of the ignorant mind then they are the only absoloute, they are their own universe condensed into a mind the size of a matchbox."
The foregoing comments are simply the product of the micromind of the author. The description in his final paragraph is aptly befitting of such programmed minds. After all, who knows him best but he. I wonder what kind of sedatives he might be under to inspire such weird and wild hallucinogenic speculations.

You ask the question:
"Why is man so perpetually obsessed with what the order of things might be? Is it his place to be so concerned, so preoccupied?"
The answer is simple, if he wasn't so "obsessed" we wouldn't be having this conversation, because we would still be in caves writing on the wall.
Kind Regards,
Stan
Dear Stan,
You have got issues, my man.
I could care less about dark-age mentality of mankind; I only lament the condition!
Dear AJ,
We all have issues. One of yours seems to be with God, and why he hasn't reveled himself to you, or humanity in general.
You are lamenting The condition of mankind. Remember that condition is only the result of mankind's dealing with what is, or in many cases what isn't.
For me God Is!
You of course are entitled to believe what ever you want, and you won't get any heat from me, if it happens to be something different.
Kind Regards,
Stan
Hi AJ
I just reread my original post, and see logical errors in my thinking. When trying to put into words my intuition about what might be beyond this life, I forced the words to fit what I felt, without thinking deeply enough.
Here's what I should have said: My intuition says there is something beyond this life, and it doesn't include a hell-like place. It may be a benevolent place, or not. I hope it is. Reports of near death experiences seem to suggest it is, and especially that other, recognizable spririts are there and one can communicate with them. Reincarnation also seems to be supported by some reports. Carl Jung wrote about an interesting experience in his Memories, Dreams, Reflections. We often connect with people in ways that we can't account for. For example, suppose I always had a sense of when you were posting on Intent, and I checked it out and found your post? That kind of thing has happened to me in the past. Also, people who are like angels in our lives, who come and transform us inexplicably. What is the explanation for that?
There's too much that's unknown for me to be sure about what is. Maybe there's too much unknown for you to be sure about what isn't?
Maybe: Could irritation on this issue be due to a sensitivity to whatever may be beyond this life? Like a person with a sore heel, walking with the heel off the ground?
Cheers & best wishes, Heather
OUCH! a nasty Ego we have there AJ!
come on man is that the best Criticism you can muster?...surely not? this is what you wanted wasn't it? you wanted a response to your negative and ridiculing posts so that you could unleash some of your reserved hatred and great force upon one of us?.
LOL
Well I must say I am most disappointed my dear friend. I had expected better insults than the ones you attempted half eloquently, you should take in a Scientology some time dear boy.
LOL Spencer quite right you are on more than one point there my grammer is atrocious, and indeed I am no authority on the supernatural or life after or before death, however I do know how to pull somebodies strings though, especially when they have an Ego the size of a house.
TutTutTut, I am Naughty, hehehehehehehe.
Come on AJ lets hug and make up buddy.
Regards
Simon xx
PS: Can aneeone recomend a gud gramar scool inn ingland??? if so? then wuld yu be so kind as to visit me in a past life wen you get a moment and give me there telephone number. LOL ;-) only if it's not to much trouble.

we are One and many as the cells of our body are one and many.
basically there are two ways to know things - intuition and reason, the functions of the right and left hemisphers of our brain/minds.
only intution can know one but not many, only reason can know many but not one. just as neither we can come to numbers beginning from infinity nor go to infinity by 2x2x2...that is, from the side of numbers.
pure intuitionists are pure mysctics and pure rationalists are pure scientists. both are schzoid so to say if they are unable to co-relate both the functions. co-relation is the job of the various hues of philosophers.
we all are either predominantly intuitional or rational. but mostly we are able to co-relate both at much of the levels of our day-to-day use.
the problem arises at the highest levels or when we try to get answers to the highest or the deepest questions.
there if one cannot co-relate the rational to the intuitive one can never understand the viewpoint of the one who says that we all are one.
heaven, hell and 'this world' are only three dimensions of basically this One World, or of this one scheme of things, depending upon the fineness of matter and have nothing supernatural about them.
heaven is where no individualities exist. seen from the perspective of individual drops or waves of water of a sea it will be like sea.
hell is where individualities begin to form but yet are in a prior-form, latent or unmanifest or potential state. in the universal context its residents are like our thoughts which have yet not translated into action or manifestation. in other words, they are like the yet unactualised thoughts in the 'mind' of one.
this world is where those thoughts get actualized step by step.
as at the universal level so at our individual levels. in each life we bring out some of our thoughts, actualize them, get feedback for the modification of the remaining then go back with the remaining in what may be called hell and then again come back to actulise the remaining.
simon, heather, stan, dont see as if i am advertising for my book but it will give a whole new perspective to these questions and you will never cease to wonder after reading it...it is going to be released in march, 2006 in usa and is currently available at amazon.co.uk. just enter self designed universe if you want to know more about that there.
i will wish if mieke reads it she will paste a copy of preface here as i myself do not have it on my computer and dont have the time now to rewrite it...(but perhaps she will have it in dutch language....oh, i will try myself sometime..)
thats well expressed, harb...tx...
Harb,
Sounds interesting, I did look your book up on Amazon a few weeks ago. I remember you saying you were inspired to write it. Could you expand a little on how and when that happened.
Thanks,
Stan
stan, thank you, i was just thinking of writing/copying the preface here, more so, as it so well fits on the subject matter of this thread. (it will take time though as i have no copy on computer and i will have to write it.)
anyway, while i do so i will request you to visit amazon.co.uk if you must to know more. the introduction at amazon is from the publisher and i think not very well written.
thanks again.
Jesus with a beer!
I sat in a bustling ski lodge with my son on my lap. I look up to find a tall man with hair below his shoulders with bright ice blue eyes (like my son)holding a Budweiser. As I peered into his eyes all I could see was the soul of a saint.
We waved at each other and he kept looking intently at my son. With a table of small children he was brave to approach and I guess most would say I was crazy for interacting with this man. He asked me what my son's name was and sat down at his level to say hello. He looked him in the eye and said, "You saw me making the angels in the snow. Would you like to see more?" With trembling hands and all the children looking at me with great anticipation. He pulled out a series of photos of angels he had made in the snow. We went through each photo one by one marveling at his great works of art only to finish on the last photo which was not only a snow angel but an amazing sunset in the distance with magnificent light beam from the entire perimeter of the angel. All our mouths dropped.
Ask I packaged, all the pictures into his sack. He told me that as a boy he spotted a man and looked into his eyes and saw his soul and when he saw my son he knew my son could see his soul in his eyes. He shook my son's hand and walked away. Telling us they called him, Caveman.
I just turned and smiled with great delight.
All the children wanted to know why I was talking to this man and why Kesic shook his hand. My daughter was especially hurt that she did not get her turn. I told him he was sharing one of his great gifts with all of us and we should all appreciate that moment in time.
As many, might see the Caveman as a crazy man, I knew I had just met Jesus with a beer.
I sat and reflected on these deeply appearing religious man with a mixed message of drunkenness and beer in his hand. What I find most magnificent is that his message was beautiful! It did not matter what or who he was or even if he would go to H E double hockey sticks.
I am sure many would be sending him to hell at first glance or categorize him as a social outcast and in some religions a product of the devil. It is from these judgments, that I believe the concept of hell has originated. Its reality does not exist beyond the thought that someone belongs there for doing bad things or serving the dark side.
Which makes me believe that sometimes in the flames of hell and damnation we should search for the devil we so fear and see what we might find if we dig deeper.
Harb, just read your comments above. Will type the preface and post it here :)
Mieke
hi stan, lbc and all! wise say the reality at the barest bottom is no-frills reality. perhaps the preface of my book self designed universe being given below will show glimpses of this simplicity. so enjoy though sorry for the long post but pl read it at your leisure. thanks.
******
A sudden turn in my life around middle years first forced me to leave my government job of a civil engineer. Then equally unexpectedly it brought me into contact with the latest in physics - especially with the fact that the scientists have reduced all the forces working in the Universe to four basic ones - thanks to Fritzof Capra’s The Tao of Physics. And lastly, almost simultaneously, it forced me on a long introspective journey – apparently to find my raison d’être in coming into this world - which finally allowed me to have an experience of the basic Oneness of All There Is. Then one day as I sat ‘lost’ in the experience, suddenly I became aware of almost a wordless dialogue going on inside me:
‘Mystics, philosophers have always spoken of freedom, liberation, nirvana, ultimately for whom and from whom?’
‘For this Oneness and from those four forces…’
This was followed in quick succession by the Universal panorama of evolution unfold before my mind’s eyes. I ‘saw’ that the origin and subsequent evolution of species plants, animals, man and so on keeping only our Earth in focus, and of all and every thing up from the Universe as a whole down to the least space-time entity otherwise, is neither the result of some blind chance nor of Darwinian natural selection etc but of the Oneness’ attempts at freedom, liberation, nirvana, or in a word, at disentanglement, from those four basic forces at myriad of hierarchical system levels.
The book in hand presents my attempt to explain the above basic idea further.
It may, however, be added here in passing that in my scheme of things the Oneness of the above dialogue represents the same ‘Super-something’ to which religious people call Soul, Spirit or even God, scientists call Supersymmetry, Superspace or even Superforce and the philosophers call Substance or even Supersystem. So to facilitate a collective description throughout this book, I have coined for that the common name of M.O.S.C or simply Mosc , which will thus stand for 'Matter of spiritual category' or simply for Spirit for the religious people or spiritualists, 'Matter of supersymmetric category' or simply for Supersymmetry for the scientists, and 'Matter of supersystemic category' or simply for Supersystem for the philosophers.
And in the light of the above the import of the above dialogue would also mean that, the origin and subsequent evolution of the Universe down to the least space-time entity is the result:
on the part of the Soul or Spirit or even God to seek freedom, liberation, nirvana from four basic forces for the spiritualists; on the part of Supersymmetry to seek to unwind itself from the same forces for the scientists; and, on the part of the Supersystem to seek to display itself through the above forces for the philosophers, at myriad of hierarchical system levels.
Moreover, if Mosc (now it will stand collectively for Spirit, for Supersymmetry and for Supersystem) is seeking release, is seeking to get itself unwound from forces in this world, then it must have been wound up into forces in some previous, some inner world. This, in fact, the spiritualists call Hell, scientists call the virtual world and the philosophers call the noumenal world. Rightly called the world of ‘potentia’ by Aristotle, this is, in fact, also the world of our minds as the things come down evolving to our human levels. So to represent collectively that world as well I have coined for that the common name of Movc or Matter of virtual category.
In basic terms it will keep account of a system’s release from forces. In human terms - when we would be calling it our minds - it will keep account of what in Hindu religion are called our karma, but which would again basically be the account of the forces as I will explain it in the body of the book.
In line with the above, I have given the name of Mopc or Matter of physical category to our this world. Though in most cases I would also speak of it as the actual world - for one, to resonate it with the previous two worlds, i.e., the spiritual and the virtual, and for another, to take certain overlapping of the worlds into account as I shall explain it at its due place later on. No doubt I wanted to give this world the collective name of Moac - Matter of actual category, but seeing the difficulty in speaking it I dropped it in favor of Mopc.
In a slight variation of the theme these Mosc, Movc and Mopc worlds, these spiritual, virtual and actual worlds may also be called the Soul, Mind and Body dimensions of the Cosmic Game of Life.
So, the readers with special interests in the fields of spirituality, philosophy and science respectively may please keep the above explanations also in mind to understand the things in their own way throughout this book. However, I would also provide further explanations of all these concepts as and when our story demands.
******
thank you once again.
Hello Harb,
I Look forward to reading your book and also passing your book onto some people I know who I regard as realised people and see what they feel about what you have said in your book. I am sure it will be a most enjoyable experience reading it.
Hey AJ.... whats wrong Buddy?...how come you aint come back at me with more of your mindless slaver?, has your mother grounded you and taken away your PC?.
hehehehe (I know I shouldn't be doing this guys but I just feel like he deserves a bit of his own medicine for a change).
Wow Simon..you really showed them..;)
Spirituality and ..
'..Come on AJ lets hug and make up buddy..'
Well, yes.. though the Laws of love, don't strike
the bull..
Stand by your spirituality, dude, the rest is..
boring..;)
Love, Passion!
Hey Heather....I guess this was the kind of post which got me to write that for you. I like the humbleness, craving to learn more, and the progression in you which gets thru' in your posts. Wonderful Stuff!!! Keep it up! I've always loved to see how the Theists respond to the Atheists...it's always a real test for the theists. If you truly experience what we call God and Spirit...then you will be Unfazed.
C'mon Heather....it was you who came in the dream that night and asking me, Sachin you write some good things and how come you've not written anything for me, and then I wrote that for you. You've forgotten all that Dear Heather....
Your Pal...Grinning Sachin
heather's quoting C.G.Jung reminded me of myself quoting him in trying to expain hell. here it is, it may further interest some readers who want to know more about hell.

(quote)
All these lessons I learn daily, modify, and carry-over to the next day, further modify and carry-over throughout my life. Similarly, all these lessons I learn each life, modify, and carry-over to the next life, modify and carry over to the next life and so on: that is, till I have learnt all of my lessons.
Now, so far I can understand it, the final arrangement or polarization of the virtual particles around one’s ‘I’, one’s Mosc for each life, the arrangement at the time one dies - the final resultant of the lessons so to say (would the scientists call that the Bose-Einstein condensate of virtual bosons?) - does not disintegrate and is carried over intact beyond death. Having shed its actual body (body mainly belonging to or taking part in gravitational and electromagnetic interactions), it is now in the purely virtual realm, with a virtual body with the ‘account’ of the lessons. And that, in other words is to say, is to be in Hell.
Here I may quote from C.G.Jung’s ‘death’ experience to support our above view. Writes he in Memories, Dreams, Reflections:
"As I approached the steps leading up to the entrance…a strange thing happened. I had the feeling that everything was being sloughed away..the whole phantasmagoria of earthly existence fell away or was stripped from me…Nevertheless something remained; it was as if I now carried along with me everything I had ever experienced or done, everything that had happened around me. I might also say: it was with me, and I was it. "
Now, so long as this arrangement of virtual particles around one’s ‘I,’ one’s Mosc is there, one may be supposed to have an individual soul. These individual souls thus moving in the virtual world may, in other words, be described as the souls which have yet not learnt all their lessons.
After a suitable time all such individual souls - souls burdened by certain arrangement of virtual particles - would re-emerge into their new space-times automatically chosen by them in such a way that they would begin learning their lessons from where they left them in their previous births/lives. Of course, when they would reach the identical ages through cyclical development in their next lives. (unquote)
Dear Suzanne,
You write descriptively well. As I read your story, I felt as if I was there along with you to observe it. You painted a crystal clear picture of the deshevelled man drinking his beer, fixating on your young son and then reaching over and lowering himself to his level in conversation, much to the consternation of those who would normally shun him.
Well done and intriguing!
There in only one resident court jester at Intent and ain't Simon. That role belongs to Marek. Simon is only a sidekick!
Hi AJ,
Thanks for pointing out Suzanne's post. Angels do appear, in the most unlikely places, and Jesus has many disguises. There are many holes to poke in the judgements we make! (did you just make one about Simon? :)
Dear Suzanne,
As AJ says, well done! Thanks for sharing the story of the diamond contained in (seeming) grubby appearance!
Dear Mieke,
I do look forward to seeing more of your writings at intent. I have missed your sharing.
Harb,
You are so amazing.
Love,
~ Kate
Funny that Dante's Inferno is much more expansive in detail and length than Paradiso.
Does that reveal something about the author or his reader?
Or maybe his patronage...
I think that I agree with www.freewillastrology.com that suggests that these days, Evil is boring.
Ron,
I am fine my friend. Thank you for asking.
I really do enjoy participating here. It has afforded me a way of finding balance and the fee is very reasonable. The fee is my intent. The feedback instantaneous.
If I spew my own self centered anger/fear driven opinions at the expense of the well being of others I am instantaneously visited with the most unpleasant sensations and thoughts (what some might even term transitory hell).
Learning by doing.
I posted on a thread of Deepak's concerning body types. I went into detail concerning my immune system and boasted that for my age I have not been bed ridden from sickness very often. I then proceeded to acquire the most bizarre sickness to date. Ha!
I don't know what it is and even though I don't need to be in bed I have taken this opportunity to confine myself to bed for the past four days with outings when I can't stand my own voice any longer.
About that cabin. I'm starting to think this whole bird flu thing is a divergence. Not so much that a pandemic won't occur, statistics tell us it's only a matter of time. However life is to beautiful to be fixating on the future and what might or might not happen. I rejoin the potentially contagious.
And you? Your voice has become more centered since I first met you. How is your family. I can't imagine two children although I would love to have the experience.
Anyway always good to read your posts and thank you for enquiring.
Peace and love reign over you and yours.
Dear Laurence,
I am sending you healing thoughts. Hope you can feel it! I enjoy your posts. Thanks for sharing yourself. It's precious.
~ Kate
Hi Laurence,
Good to hear from you, my dear friend. You are one of the true gentlemen and calming voices to grace this marvelous forum.
You enquire about the family. First, thanks for asking! Everyone is very happy today with the news that dad has booked and paid for a two-week vacation in the sun in Honolulu.
Quoting you: "Your voice has become more centered since I first met you." My brother, what exactly do you mean by this?
Cheers!
LOL AJ in the words of the Almighty Michael Brady,
" I refuse to even respond to your comments they are so poor "
LOL and if you are wondering who Michael Brady is
then I must refer you to my phylosophy about Life which is this...There are 2 things that we should always take in to account in life..
(1) Never tell people everything you know
(2)
LOL xx
AJ and Kate,
Thank you.
Harb,
You said, "as at the universal level so at our individual levels. in each life we bring out some of our thoughts, actualize them, get feedback for the modification of the remaining then go back with the remaining in what may be called hell and then again come back to actulise the remaining."
I believe this to be true in so many facets of our lives. Do you think that hell and the devil actually exists in all of us. Actualizing internally and externally much to our chagrin:-)
Love and peace to the demon in all of us!
Simon (or is that smallman?)
Boy, you are so small perhaps you should be wary about drowning next time you decide to take a swim in teaspoon!
Hehehe!
suzzane, thank you, i dont know about devil, in fact i do not recognise him/it, i see all as the game or scheme of things of the One or God or whatever and so i see it in that way and not in good and bad or deity /devil way.
but yes, hell is there in all of us, just as heaven. we work upon it and finally reach or realize heaven.
erm...... forgive my igornace but How can you swim on a metalic object? a tea spoon? what the same tea spoon that one would use to stir ones tea?
Do you mean a teaspoon full of Something?
I think it is time you whent back on my Ignore list AJ untill at least your Jokes Improve or your manners Improve towards fellow bloggers.
Best Wishes
Mr Freejohn
Harb,
Thanks for your thoughs. I guess I view the devil as that little person inside of us that likes to do bad things:-) I think we all have been there. Children and teens do this all the time. They do not view it as bad just fun. As adults, I think the devil appears in some of our actions. But that might just be putting a label on certain manifestations.
Much love,
Hi Kate,
Thanks for that nice reminder :)
How are you? From your writings i would say very well :)
I am so busy at the moment translating two books at a time that i hardly have time to comment a lot on intent blog at the moment. I still do read a lot though cause feel a part of it all, but getting into discussions is too much for me at the moment.
Moreover something exciting happened to my life here in Holland. I am going to Portugal in a couple of weeks, flying for the first time lol
This was intended to happen somewhere in december last year but was cancelled at the last minute. A good friend of mine owns a piece of land there and me am going to work on her land and at the same time all those volunteers she has, work together to make her dream come true:
establishing a spiritual community that can work and live on that piece of land. She has been inspired by the Findhorn organization. Perhaps you have heard of it. They have a rather large website.
My friend has one too as i mentioned before on this blog www.torreao.com.
So now you know that i am not forgetting you and Tiffany, if you read this, i do not forget you too and am still grateful to you by giving me the Gratitude site. Still going gratitude! And look what happens to me :)
Still having regular contact by mail with North and Harb.
When i am back from Portugal, will let you know of my experiences :)
Love to you and all the best, Mieke
Charlatanism!
Frequently, owing to a perpetual sense of personal insecurity and innate or causal inferiority complex, charlatans often feel that they must get the last word in in a debate or argument. By so doing, they feel like winners! I suppose the world will be a less colorful place in the absence of charlatanism and sidekicks!
people...

Hey Marek,
Nice new pictures! They convey the inner workings of a complex man.

Cherry!
PS: Who is the man with hands all around you on the couch?
Ron,
To answer your inquiry first let me extend the words you used to describe myself back toward you.
"You are one of the true gentlemen and calming voices to grace this marvelous forum."
Ever since Mallika's open thread, the one in which you asked some poignant questions, your posts have exuded well thought out, direct and passionate points of view. And I mean really well thought out and researched. And yet with all that passion I do not recall you getting trapped into the emotional roller coaster, tail chasing exchanges that I was so prone to some months ago.
Your family is very lucky.
I know so many men that keep putting their families off until one day they look around and there is no family to take vacations with. Harry Chapins' "The Cats and the Cradle".
It really takes a profound love to invest into relationship rather then that next "toy" that so many of us guys are irresistibly drawn to. And two weeks in Honolulu for a family of four can buy one heck of a "toy".
Wise choice my friend.
Dear Mieke,
Thank you for writing. I have missed your posts. How inspiring is your work, and your interests! I can see why you are so busy. I wish you safe travel and a joyful time with your friend. I send my love and prayers to go with you!
Dear Laurence,
Are you feeling better now? I hope you did feel healing thoughts for you, from me.
Dear Ron,
I can't add too much to LPB's note. I think Laurence says it so beautifully - about the gift of children, and to spend time with your family, on a lovely vacation, is heavenly. And to Hawaii, which I hear is paradise!
Hey, Marek - when will you and your family return to Poland?
Love,
~ Kate
Thank you Deepak, for this post.
Satan is not 'real' to me, by any means. It has been a process to outgrow the Devil image I heard about and was scared by as a young girl.
hi suzzane, yes, i would just see it as 'putting a label on certain manifestations' in your words.
i agree with kate that this devil thing can be outgrown. then when there is no devil insie there can be no devil outside or anywhere.
hi k and my k (mieke), love
harb.
haha,
the playboy on the pics is a great friend of mine, from the same town, and also came to the Smurfcountry at 5 years old, uni gym and dojo buddy and fellow ladiesman ;) Mission (hometown) Gdynia 2006, he's onboard, into busines, gonna start a new venture, back home, I'm planning to take a sabbatical first, check the local student scene, take some classes, make some princeses crazy, that kind of applepie,
With love & passion, offcourse..;)
Unfortunately, opposition towards god manifest itself within the illusory material world. While reverence for god/the universe manifest itself within the spiritual realm, ultimately within the human spirit. Both are powerful. The latter finds its power in truth and light. While the opposition finds its power in the fall to darkness and within the absence of light. Both the same but very different. Satan is a word. A label for the darkness and peril, which definately exist beyond the borders and experiences of our own lives.
It should not be a question of responsilibility, but rather an answer of perception. Can I perceive the darkness of others while I'm basking in my light. satan does not exist, but his opposition towards God does,I witness people living in that opposition on a daily basis and it has nothing to do with them not taking responsibility-but rather the satanic manifestations of their environments and the actions, or lack of action, from those around them.
Dear Laurence,
Thank you very kindly for your heart-warming comments. Family is our most valuable possession on earth. Everything else pales in comparison.
Respect, my brother.
**************************************************************************************************
Dear Kate,
I am always inspired my your naturally bountiful, loving and endearing comments. Hawaii is heaven, I am told. It will have been our first visit there. Oxana is very happy and beside herself. She is counting down the number of sleeps left. Even though Filip does not yet understand what all the excitement is about, he tells alot by his infectious smiles and body language.
Love,
Ron.
Dearest Ron,
You have inspired parents here at intent! You and Laurence and North, write so lovingly about the joy and wonder, and magic - of your children.
I feel this way with my daughter, and even an illness so severe, and months and years of - having to hear, there is no hope for her recovery, and crying deep tears, and doing so much research, and prayer, and it came for me, a complete moment of Surrender. Completely, letting go, and trusting - and staying close and warm in our talks, and walks, and often, in silence, just resting comfortably in each other's presence - was the Present most appreciated, and the one that has brought healing and strength back.
I smile when you say Oxana is counting down the days. I can still do this too, when I am excited for a trip, or for a concert. She is lovely, Ron. Filip has grins, and so he is excited for the family excitement. I love children!
Wish you could post pictures. Have a safe, fun and warm Hawaiian vacation. As Patty says, Aloha!
With love,
~ Kate

Michael Moore Statement on Canadian Election
Michael Moore is currently in production on his next movie. As an avid lover of all things Canadian, he has issued the following statement regarding Canada's upcoming election on Monday:
Oh, Canada -- you're not really going to elect a Conservative majority on Monday, are you? That's a joke, right? I know you have a great sense of humor, and certainly a well-developed sense of irony, but this is no longer funny. Maybe it's a new form of Canadian irony -- reverse irony! OK, now I get it. First, you have the courage to stand against the war in Iraq -- and then you elect a prime minister who's for it. You declare gay people have equal rights -- and then you elect a man who says they don't. You give your native peoples their own autonomy and their own territory -- and then you vote for a man who wants to cut aid to these poorest of your citizens. Wow, that is intense! Only Canadians could pull off a hat trick of humor like that. My hat's off to you.
Far be it from me, as an American, to suggest what you should do. You already have too many Americans telling you what to do. Well, actually, you've got just one American who keeps telling you to roll over and fetch and sit. I hope you don't feel this appeal of mine is too intrusive but I just couldn't sit by, as your friend, and say nothing. Yes, I agree, the Liberals have some 'splainin' to do. And yes, one party in power for more than a decade gets a little... long. But you have a parliamentary system (I'll bet you didn't know that -- see, that's why you need Americans telling you things!). There are ways at the polls to have your voices heard other than throwing the baby out with the bath water.
These are no ordinary times, and as you go to the polls on Monday, you do so while a man running the nation to the south of you is hoping you can lend him a hand by picking Stephen Harper because he's a man who shares his world view. Do you want to help George Bush by turning Canada into his latest conquest? Is that how you want millions of us down here to see you from now on? The next notch in the cowboy belt? C'mon, where's your Canadian pride? I mean, if you're going to reduce Canada to a cheap download of Bush & Co., then at least don't surrender so easily. Can't you wait until he threatens to bomb Regina? Make him work for it, for Pete's sake.
But seriously, I know you're not going to elect a guy who should really be running for governor of Utah. Whew! I knew it! You almost had me there. Very funny. Don't do that again. God, I love you, you crazy cold wonderful neighbors to my north. Don't ever change.

Don't ever change.

hope ya's enjoy the read!! hope Vijay reads this!
Dear Michael Moore - we need you in Canada! Please come, you can crash here!! So, we have got a new minority gov't here in Canada! Conservatives, can you believe it? Harper used same mental terrorist tactics on Canadians; accentuating federal scrutiny and shame; looks like we will soon be calling ourselves: Can-American? Harper is totally right-wing american in his policies; and look how badly it's made the usa? this is scary!!

North: I only briefly caught a glimpse over my shoulder, of a peech Harper was making today?, and the rest of the afternoon I kept "hearing" this sarcastic voice going through my mind about the words and the body language of this man's speech--now I know the "sarcastic voice" was that of one of our truest "patriots"--Michael Moore!
Thanks for the "cut & paste" North--Dave
HI David...no problem; I really like Moore; and I find his intelligence and interests in exposing corruption quite commendable!!
Kavita mentions that he's doing a docu on exposing greed and corruption in pharma companies; should be very revealing indeed!
Glad you enjoyed the read; and Harper is very right-wing; I see many of our social programs being flushed, etc. I see him stroking the backs of high tax-bracket payers; and ignoring the plight and deprivations of the aged, disabled and poor.
Harper is indeed, a Bush-wannabe; and for that reason; being Canadian; I am indeed, afraid; but, at least he's a minority gov't; a somewhat silver lining in this new dark, Canadian cloud, over my beloved country's head.
I am a true Liberal supporter, and voted for Liberals. sure, they are marred with scandal; however; not everyone in the house, was involved? I think Martin was a good PM; and was not given ample time to prove his worth and he did get Canada out of debt in such a short time!!!
It's hard not to feel a certain degree of doom and gloom; over this election! I almost see me, somewhat reviving my "advocate" mode; to accomodate giving backlash to what Harper will no doubt, do to Canadians. A two-tier medical system is probably going to be his first priority. Then, cut tax's; raise our national debt to do so; making friends of course, with high taxpayers and corporate mongering.
gosh, it is a sad day, in the history of Canada!

Dear Kate,
I am terribly sorry to learn about the condition of your daughter and your peaceable acceptance and resignation of the 'inevitable'.
You may have discussed her condition in the past but this is the first time I am learning of it. Only if you are so inclined, perhaps you can re-describe her illness for us who aren't aware of it. I trust that the remaining time you have with her are memorable, warm and close.
Life is a precious gift (oft taken for granted by many) and each fleeting moment spent together a veritable blessing. May you and your daughter have many more such moments before the end.
With love and respect,
Ron.
Heaven and hell are states of mind. We contain both the divine and the diabolical within us. What about God? Doesn't God contain everything as well? Just wondering aloud.
Also, when we have a strong emotional reaction to someone, whether that be positive or negative, you have suggested Deepak, that we make a list of the qualities we like in that person and the qualities we dislike in that person, and then VERY HONESTLY ask ourselves if we have these qualities within us. And if we can honestly say/admit to ourselves that we too have some of these qualities within ourselves then we will see that things will start to change (in the way we experience these people).
I find this to be a very useful technique....very hard to do at times, i must admit, but very useful. I think it fosters understanding/empathy and reduces judgement.
Also as far as forgiveness goes, i think that if we knew enough about a person, we could forgive them almost anything. There is so much we don't know or understand about others and we see their behaviours throught the filter of our own experiences and not their experiences.
I also think it's important to distinguish between the person and his/her behaviour.
Each of us has the capacity to do what some may consider evil under the right conditions. Just as each of us has the capacity to do what may be considered divine under the right conditions. We don't really know what we are capable of until we are faced with it.
Most of us have never known nor will we ever know the level of sheer hopelessness and desperation that some in other parts of the world face day to day. There are those who have known nothing other than hopelessness and we can't begin to understand their struggles or their world. And we can't categorize them as good or evil when we ourselves don't know their truth.
I suppose I may have veered off topic slightly from where you began, Deepak but I have not yet read all the responses so perhaps I may not be so far off topic after all. Just sharing my thoughts. Thanks for listening :)
Hey North, that makes two 'true Liberals' on this blog! I love Paul Martin and am very sad to see him step down as party leader. He was a fantastic prime minister, compassionate, devoted to the multicultural fabric of Canada, pluralistic and I for one was very proud to have him represent us. I love the way he stood up for Canada (with the lumber dispute, our stand on Iraq etc) and I think it is ironic that the Conservatives were running under a banner of 'stand up for Canada'. We'll just have to wait and see just how they're going to do that. We all know of Harper's passionate devotion to the Bush administration. I am very concerned about the turn our foreign policy will take under his leadership. Let's pray for Canada!
Oh yeah, and I LOVE Michael Moore! A man that's not afraid to tell it like it is! No matter what it costs him. Now there's a class act as far as I'm concerned. Great that you posted his letter/appeal :)

Hi Trinity, well there we go; that makes two of us Liberals! lol Now, only a few million to sway to the "light side, huh?"
Yeah, I was sorry to see martin go; Liberals have taken a turn for the worse; but normally one takes out the bad apple, saves the rest; NOT the other way around? Liberals to me; hold the best political policies for all Canadians; although of course, we are not immune to corruption within the governing house; this also does't mean everyone working in the house, had their fingers in the pie! Angers me, how politics works; and sadly, a lot of it is pre-meditated and strategic moves.
At least it's a minority gov't......
And, I liked your other post up there too, on forgiveness, etc...
North
Hi North. Thanks. I'm with you on the apple thing..they lost one of their best....he will be a tough act to follow. Unfortunately he paid the price for something others before him did. Actually it won't be just him paying the price. It seems like the Conservatives are out to undo a lot of the things that make us so great as a country.
Well, on a positive note....if I had to find one in this situation....like you said, at least it is a minority gov't. Hopefully between the Liberals and the rest, Harper's Conservatives won't get away with too much......we'll just have to keep 'um honest ;)
