My good friend and partner at DNSI, Valarie Kaur, is screening her documentary, "Divided We Fall," this Saturday at Stanford University. I viewed a rough cut of the film last year; it was excellent. I hope the readers of Intent will consider attending and informing others of this upcoming event.
The details are as follows:

About the film: "Who counts as American? When a turbaned Sikh man is brutally murdered in the aftermath of Sept. 11, a college student journeys across the country to find out who counts as "one of us" in a world divided into "us and them." Armed with only a camera, she captures hundreds of stories never before told – stories of fear and unspeakable loss, but also of resilience and hope – until she finally finds the heart of America, halfway around the world. Over four years in the making, Divided We Fall weaves expert analysis into a cross-country road trip that confronts the forces dividing Americans in times of crisis."

Hi Gurjendra,
Thanks for your interest in Divided We Fall. The film has been nearly five years in the making, so it's very gratifying to be close to release! The film will make its US premiere this fall and then tour the country. The dvd won't be publically available for some time, but we will be sending complimentary dvds to people who makes donations of $50 or more to the film right now: http://www.dwf-film.com/donate.html
Since this is a truly grassroots independent project, we've made it this far because of the support of people who have believed in the story.
Thanks again,
Valarie Kaur

Sounds very interesting. Any chance it will get to Australia? Hope so.
Valarie: I have mentioned this film to a lot of my friends and family since I first learnt of it through the DNSI blog site. I hope it gets the well deserved attention. (I have seen the preview on the website.) I am hoping to go watch it with my dad at Stanford this coming weekend.
best wishes,

Dave and Valarie: Thank you for bringing this film to our attention, and the website to make a donation--I hope to acquire this DVD then; after doing a "Fahrenheit 9/11" presentation at the school I was just at, I had my American Government professor register it in the schools library; maybe this professor will also consider it for presentation in her classes, or give it to her best friend, a "World Religions" professor, and do the same with it for the school library--of course, after I've watched it a few times first! Dave
Aloha Dave and Valarie
Sounds like a wonderful flim to show when we make distance we move closer. The root of course is always I am. Fear is false edvidence appearing real. It is not to buy the masquerade it is to see the Christ in the crisis to respond with love through empathy and compassion. I am grateful for camera that sees behind the eye. love patty
