Anouradha Bakshi - June 13, 2006
This morning as I entered my office the light on my cellphne was flashing indicating a message in my inbox.
I rarely use this facility and normally what awaits me on the screen is some promo or the other. I opened the message - not a promo this time - and read the beautiful words sent by a lovely young woman I recently met. It said:
If God answers your prayers he is increasing your faith
If he delays, he is testing your patience
If he does not, he knows you can handle...
I stared at the words for a long time letting their meaning sink in, and realising how true they were. The words written were in no way a message of resignation but one of hope. How many times have I not sat waiting for what many call miracles, till I realised that it was for me to make it happen, and then somheow things happened: the right words appeared on the screen as my fingers tapped the keys, the long forgotten name sprung back in one's memory or the right option was sought..
One is but human and somehow one forgets that the greatest gift anyone can give you is the realisation that nothing comes by begging, but by believing in yourself and in your ability to get it, no matter how many hurdles you need to overcome.

"If God answers your prayers he is increasing your faith
If he delays, he is testing your patience
If he does not, he knows you can handle..."
IS GOD MALE? WHY HE, HE, HE?
******
First you love the beautiful words of the lovely young lady. They sink in you, realising how true! So it tells you believe in getting favours from God through prayers.
Then you shift the gear one hundred eighty. No prayers now. But rewards through action. "How many times have I not sat waiting for what many call miracles, till I realised that it was for me to make it happen, and then somheow things happened."
So what do you want to tell us Ms. Anuradha Bakshi?
In your last sentence, "One is but human and somehow one forgets that the greatest gift anyone can give you is the realisation that nothing comes by begging, but by believing in yourself and in your ability to get it, no matter how many hurdles you need to overcome," do you imply praying God is begging for favours? If you do not ask for favours, will it then not be praising God?
Does the following message not convey more appropriately what you want to say here?
If you get what you work for
You have in yourself increasing faith
If you get later what you work for
You test your patience for rewards
If you get not what you worked for
You know you can work for it again…
If so, why then you need God? If not, then the beautiful words of the lovely lady appearing on your screen do not complement your conclusion.
Would you please be kind enough to clarify the confusion you are creating here? Please do not quote Bhagwad Gita or some holy text in your answer. Please tell us what you think.

If you do not like what I wrote above, please do not answer. I do not want to vex your brain. I want you to be happy in your ways. But it would be puzzling not knowing what your blog means.
Dear Anouradha,
Very Nice message!
And our meeting is still pending. ;- )
Cheers, Rohit
Anouradha,
You seem to have someone who has a crush on you by the name of Bhagwan. There is nothing you can write that he let be or quitely contemplate, but must always clamor for you Attention. I think you might have another "little one" that wants to come home with you.
I refer to God as a he becuase it is simply habit, but everyone know God is a SHE.
Dear Anou, there is a surge of confidence in your post, that is invitingly exciting! I am so happy for you to have had this synchronized event Anou; and the way it has restored your assurance, that you are on the path, few dare to tread; you are indeed; God's physical action in motion!
May this small epiphany, guide you further towards all ends being met with positive and successful results!
Love, North
Dear Bhagwan Yogiraj, might I turn the table on you instead of focusing on Anou? You have been asked repeatedly to explain yourself on this intentblog, yet you refuse!?
Then, with some form of "commanding presence" you demand all, who post their thoughts; convey to you, it's interpretation; when we all know in fact it is the reader's to decipher.
It is quite a shame really, to see an obvious person of gifted mind, to continuously play commander games here at intentblog.
So, I ask YOU Bhagwan Yogiraj, to explain YOUR thoughts? You prefer to play persecution games? You mastered yourself a critic here? Yet, REFUSE to dignify your presence, with the very commanding/demanding attitude and requests you very magnify-glassingly demand from all others.
You seem to make it a pet project of yours, to cause everyone to become "on guard" of their personal thoughts, revelations, evolutions?
Who gave you this power to do this to everyone, yet do not put yourself under the same rules of answering polite, and honest questions posed to you?
YOU did this, on Anou's last thread. Then all hell broke loose there, when I asked you the same above questions-and then you ran like a bat out of hell. What are your intentions and thoughts, actually; aside from picking apart everyone else's without any sort of respectable regard?

Anouradha,
A very lovely, simple description of what human the human experience really means. There is sucha paradox: on the one hand it's hard to grasp how incredibly important each of us is and on the other hand humbling to realize how small and unimportant we are. We all need to take action and "ask" God, but on the other hand we also must accept what "is" in order to be fully present and lead happy lives.
Peace,
Scott.
I like the little poem very much. Of course God has a little role in creating those miracles your speak of ;)
By the by, I don't think Bhagwan is being horribly disrespectful here--I think he seems genuinely confused--I mean either God plays a role or he doesn't--there really is no room to sidestep the issue.
I mean no criticism to Anouradha--I really enjoyed this little poem.
Anouradha, nice blog post. Thank you.
Who is God?? Has any of us seen God?? No. Has any of us experienced God through any of our senses?? No. Then how do we know there is God?? My friends I feel the presence of something, some one DIVINE with in the recesses of my heart, in the depths of my soul. To feel God one needs to yearn for God. When I truly yearn, and crave for my beloved DIVINE MOTHER I feel her, and then I start crying, not tears of sorrow, no, no, tears of Joy, of ultimate devotion.
Is God a Man or a Woman, or a Thing, or a Man and Woman. I do not know. The wise say God is both Male and Female. God the Father is Purusha, or SHIVA, Omniscient, Omnipresent, Omnipotent. God the Mother is Prakruti, or Shakti, She takes care of the entire creation. I, the dimwit, think that God does not care what you call Him or Her. He/She, They love us unconditionally. They answer to whatever name we dimwits use. I might call God Mother, another may call God Allah, a third may call God, Yaweh, a fourth may call God Jesus, or Krishna, or Rama. God listens to our heart and soul not to our words, He/ She listen to the love, the devotion, the emotion behind the words. I love you DIVINE MOTHER.
Anouradha, thank you. God bless you.(I hope you do not mind my blessings)
Anouradha,
nice post..
I feel that most of things depends on our perception...Everything we encounter is to make us grow into better individuals..
Dear North,
A disturbed mind never thinks clearly.
Dear Mam Knows,
You speak the truth.
Agreed, Mam Knows; I see Bhagwan Yogiraj as very good proof of that very fact.

Nice message, Anouradha!
Although, Geeta's message kind of resonates with me. In Vasistha Yoga - where Rishi Vasistha teaches Rama the Ultimate Truth, he says at the onset - that those who believe in Divine or Fate are ignorant! They do not understand the reality. The truth, O Rama, is that every event depends on your Karmas (actions and thoughts) - past and present. And of these, your present Karmas are the most important!!
So, thats what they taught Rama.. who was the Isht Deva of Tulsi, Kabir, and Guru Nanak. Maybe he used what he learnt from his teacher to be so popular amongst such an august company? :-)
... par dil ke behlane ko Anou yeh message achha hai!
Cheers,

god helps those who help themselves
because god is not only in us but all of us
God is just GOD! That's it!
And Geeta, YOU are no dimwit!
Anou, Some say that God can do nothing if
your hands and heart are not receptive to the
Divine Will.
Geeta, That was wonderful! I like the saying,
"Don't say Two...say not One".
I say The Lord's Prayer, to my Mother and Father in Heaven.
I pray to Jesus and Mother Mary.
I say Hello! to all my ancestors, relatives, angels and spirit guides
who follow me along the way, everyday.
I say a special Hello! to my Grand-parents...
and to anyone else who might be listening in.
If my prayers are answered I am grateful...
doesn't matter whodunnit.
If my requests are delayed I am usually being selfish.
If they are eventually fulfilled, it may be because I got outta da way.
Then I am grateful...doesn't matter whodunnit.
If a particular petition is denied,
I remember, That which is Divine
Knows my needs and my heart,
Better than I do!

Anouradha:
nice post! somebody had forwarded these lines to me a coupla years ago. & liked them so much that i accepted the message unconditionally!
Let me share an incident with u here. When I was in college, we would always "pray" for lectures to be canceled (!) for no particular reason! A friend once asked me "why doesnt God answer our prayers & get lectures canceled more often? sometimes he does, most of the times he doesnt! why?" I replied then that He answers only those prayers that r good for us! It's a blessing in disguise that not all of our prayers are answered! I remember how my dad always warned me to be careful of what I wished for in life, lest I would get it! :)
Love & God bless!
Anouradha, reading those three lines about God answering our prayers etc, brought a saying to my mind. "Jo kuch hua, achcha hi hua". Translation, whatever happened happened for the best.
It also reminded me about a story about a wise man in a village. It is too long a story. I will only tell you part of it. There once lived a wise old man in a village who had a son and a horse. One day the horse was missing. Every one said, you have such bad luck. The wise man said, "MAY BE". the next day the horse came back and brought a few other horses with him. Every body daid how lucky you are. He said,"MAY BE". His son broke his leg riding one of those ponies. Every one said how unlucky you are. The man said,"MAY BE". The kings men came the next day and enlisted all able bodied men except the wise man's son. Every one said you are so lucky. The wise man said, MAY BE".
Well, I hope the story was not too boring. I don't remember where I read it.
Anouradha, will you please give me permission to bless you??
Hmmm! so no matter what happens, God has a justification for it....?
I don't think that MAN is the most brilliant creation of GOD. I think GOD is the most brilliant creation of MAN. God is self justifying and self-evident and self sustaining and self-made, he (or she) is whatever man wanted to be but couldn't be...and who could have thought of it but man himself...BRILLIANT!!!
Hi Anouradha
You truly are a great inspiration to me...keep up the great work! Next time I visit Delhi, I will come see your organisation.
You are doing an exceptional work!

Dear Anou, last night, I made a new design; to say happy anniversary to IntentBlog. I will reveal it on the 23rd, the day of the first post made here at Intent by Gotham Chopra.
I just wanted you to know, that besides putting your name on it, and everyone else's from Intent, I also put Utpal's name on it, because he's become all of ours in -Love! I hope this is ok, and will bring Utpal a smile.

Dear Anou: It is not you who has ever set-off unnecessary spats--not now, not in the past--hope you will keep posting whatever it is you are thinking, or feeling, regardless.
Thank You for your wonderful true-to-life perspectives, and from the heart of a "very very bright light," at that! Dave

I don't think there's anything wrong with begging. Even prayer is a kind of begging- to God. After enough begging (from people, life, or God) we realize that what we're begging for is to stop resisting our inherent unlimited power of creation.
