I read them when you posted the same message in a open thread in the past. They suck! especially the comic about Harappan India. Intent users don't go and give hits to this site. This guy doesn't reply to any comments others make about the site. His only motivation is to do some publicity for the site here. Believe me those comics suck! I fell into the trap and read them.

here's my favorite song about the subject of re-incarnation (since we were discussing it yesterday). It's by the Dead. I really like Robert Hunters poetry for some reason. From the lyrics it seems to me that the Box of Rain is a metaphor for three-dimensional existence (a box being the simplest 3-D structure, and wind and rain symbolizing the elements of the Earth).

The Comic on harappan India is a lot of plain imagination backed by controversial historical interpretations of Harappan and Aryan traditions and their philosophies and the propounded seperation between the two. Neither funny nor educational. All in all a mediocre attempt at comics based on half baked history. A romeo and juliet story in ancient India!, nice try but falls flat given the issues of Sindu-saraswati civilization and the controversial Aryan Invasion theory which are not yet settled and the harappan script not yet deciphered. Text book History(may not be true) says that the hyms of Rig veda of the so called barbarian horse mounted aryans were first composed in the aryan steppe grass lands of central asia far away from india. History is not an exact science and to make own interpretations is a new trend which is catching up. It won't be surprising to see a joker inspired by reading such comics and makes a stupid Bollywood movie or a telly which might make big money given the love story plot and the charecter caricatures.
There are comics based Indian epics. No problem with that because there is a lot of literature(not history) about the subject. Comics need not be historical but to present as such is a huge responsibility and the reader should be aware of that if not the author.

What makes you think that it is an EXCELLENT Indian comic? Yes, Not everything works for everybody. If you like it, give some objective criticism regarding why it is excellent.(and still it remains your opinion)

If I remember well, this is at least the second time you have posted the URL of this site in the Open Thread. If you like to publicize the site here or else have the good intention of sharing it with people here who have similar tastes, why don’t you give your objective criticism so that people are better informed and make a choice?

I elaborated my view in my later comment. I am not a Comic Guru to give an objective analysis. I am an average person and people know that when they read my comments. I am not nytimes or some news reviewer who has to be conscious about being objective as far as possible because many people who read them blindly follow the reviews before they decide to by or spend their time on reading those comics/products.

Don’t you know that the reviews of critics may be positive or negative contradicting each other many a times? Where is the objective criticism when it comes to journalism that you see so much these days?

Talk about Constructive criticism, Yes. I believe in it when there is a dialogue between two points of views. As is now between you and me. Hope you will constructive too.

I think you read my comment hastily. I said SOME joker who reads the comic may get a brilliant idea to make a bollywood movie out of it.

1. There was no disclaimer by the authors of the comics as such.
2. The comic is more in an educating mode than being a fiction. See the facts being stated by the author from time to time? (One can find the similarity in Davinci code about the presentation of facts)
3. There seems to be a hidden intention to refute the western Aryan Invasion Theory in the comic. It is partition approach not objective or balanced at all.

All in all accepting the loosely based on history thing, still the comic is not a pleasure to read or enjoyable comparing it with an average comic book which comes out. Comic books are supposed to be funny witty and entertaining if not informative. The comic you mentioned has no flow, is patchy and is not funny relatively speaking. This is my subjective view and as I said I am an average person. So people can make out whatever they want to from my opinions.

The biggest let down for me is the fun part which was missing. Forget the history.

That was what I meant when I said it Sucks. People are intelligent enough to follow their choice or to use their good judgment about of a review or a comment.

Are subjective opinions which carry their meaning of their own poisonous to you? Do you think people believe whatever a Tom Dick or a Harry writes and take them literally?

Give your opinion about the comic. People will read it if they like it. They won’t if they like mine. Try to be balanced and unbiased as far as possible in your review. People will have a better chance of not getting disappointed like me. If you can’t do this don’t refute my review or label my stuff as “poisonous”. I don’t believe in sweet poisons with sweet words under the mask of objectivity. I call a spade a spade when I see one. It is good not to fool oneself and fool others in selling(not literally) opinions.

I guess Solution to any problem is first Identify what is the Problem..

Secondly I am writing for long time change Socialist gay culture of India. Try to encourage Individualistic capitalist society.

Tuesday at work a 31 yr. old pretty lady who could

get many men to love her was sitting down to lunch.

Just sitting with co-workers around a picnic table

as usual, she appeared to be flirting, or so it

looked to her husband, who also was working there

in another part of the plant.

He came to see her about something, called her over

from the group, then the arguement commenced,

basically in plain sight.

They moved over behind a trailer, now unseen.

She comes back in tears, he smacked her upside

the head! Her black eye shows the next day.

She went on home, he was fired. Next morning

walking in I see him dropping her off, obviously

she didn't leave him.

This woman spoke to me a couple of months ago

and told me about her situation. I wasn't the one

who brought it up. She had to call the cops on him just

4 months ago. I told her he will not stop. I told

her, if you give him one more chance, again, your

promises are meaningless.

So it's happened again, she looked like crap

yesterday and everyone knows about it. How much

shame and embarrasment will it take to make her leave?

I talked to her briefly and said what I could

to comfort her. It will not make much difference,

I'm afraid. She's way more afraid.

Stupid man! That so pisses me off!

Had to get this off my chest. I pray for her

and her two small children.

Today is my Birthday, 29 Years Young on this day, it is quite a daunting age in some sense becuase you begin to realise that next year you are in your 30's!!

I suppose it is the same when you reach 40 and 50, the reality of how old you are finally hits home.

Age is also a funny thing becuase I suppose that we all feel a certain age which is not neccaserily our biological age. Some people I have spoken to people in their 50's who say that mentaly they are still in their 20's even though their body does agree with them on that statement in certain cases lol.

I am about to celebrate my birthday with my family and friends soon, but I wonder, is celebrating our Birthdays that important?
after all it is only a day like any other.

What are we acctually celebrating anyway on our Birthdays?

Have a great time camping! The last time I went camping was maybe 5 years ago. I went in June and still froze--almost had to get out of the tent and go sleep in the car! Guess what? For the past few Christmases I’ve managed to annoy my family. I thought I was saving them time, money and hassle by asking them not to buy a gift for me. However, the mere suggestion seemed to stir aggravation. They insisted I must have ‘something’, so I’d reply, "What I really would like as a gift is for you to meditate for 15 minutes on truthfulness, compassion and tolerance." It’s true, I would like the whole world to contemplate how they could be more compassionate—not just at Christmas, but all year round.

Most of my family just nodded, then pried gift ideas from my husband when I was out of earshot.

People understand Christmas to be synonymous with generosity. Then they understand generosity as something that can only be applied from the wallet. Generosity doesn’t need to be so limited. There are many ways of giving that can be even more rewarding.

I'm not in any mountain range--I live in the high desert of New Mexico--just a hop, skip and a jump from Colorado. You're in Nebraska, huh? It made me think of that part where Jim Carrey's character turned back for Nebraska instead of Colorado and then he trades the van for the little moped and they ride all the way to Aspen...!!! HAHA! I guess it is pretty flat where you are, huh? I live in a valley with huge plateaus surrounding it. It's not bad, I've grown into it and actually like it now that I'm older... no, I'm not that old!

A MULTIMILLION DOLLAR OPPORTUNITY

Folks at IB and Elsewhere,

I got an original brilliant idea to develop some computer games for children and adults. The games do not involve violence or sex, and can be played solo or together with a group of friends or family members.

If any one of you have the skills needed to develop the games, like software programming and display of characters in motion, please post a note here for me, telling me your experience. I will supply all the details of the game involving the character developments etc as copyrighted intellectual property and you will have to take care of the work of product development.

I think people like Gotham might get interested in this project too, as I believe, the games will an international appeal for sales, with gross revenue running into millions of dollars.

I am seriously urging you guys to give a thought to this opportunity if you have the necessary skills.

Graduation, and Meeting Jane!

It was a great weekend!! Lee's grad went very well, total shoulder to shoulder crowd. At the end, they read ever grad student's stats, and they flashed pics of them from baby, toddler to grad, as they did so. It was very moving to watch.

Jane and her family are awesome!! After being EM buddies all these years, we finally got to meet!! The 3 kids were so well-behaved, very impressive, so I made mention of it, when I could get away without making it obvious, to let them and the kids know; it was nice to see.... so many kids aren't taught manners any more??

I am so tuckered out from all the excitement, and a week of cleanign and moving things around for a houseful... they slept here in sleeping bags, on every floor available.. what a sight!! I wish I hadn't run out of film and I wish they could have stayed another day...

Got Lee's grad pics developed today.. not too many of the whole stage turned out,, were dark and blurry.. but the closer up were great!! One of his best buddy is so great, giving it to him as a grad gift, framed this week... lol

The prom pics were great, took too many, ran out of film at the grad.. ugh!! Jane and Stephen filmed Lee's grad, and gifted him with the CD of it!! They also gave him a card, and 40 dollars...and gave me a brass candle holder with a peach candle-smells so nice,, and it has cutouts in the holder of stars, moon and sun.. very nice glowy pics it gives...

Off to Mom's tomorrow to clean her whole place, Mon and Tues.. as Wed I start job training for my new job.... cashier at a pizza/pool hall/corner store kinda place...

Kate, you are in my thoughts.. when you grieve, I am grieving with you... I am beside you just now,, touching your hand to let you know, I am near... My sincere sympathies...

How to Kill a Reciever in 10 Minutes or Less!!

Hang a plant over it.
Water it.
Walk away for 10 minutes.
Return to find it dripping INTO the satellite reciever.

This is how you kill your satellite reciever; which I did last night, just after posting here at Intent.

I signed off, watered the stupid plant, and voila! It dripped, killing my satellite reciever below it.

NO TV!! NO NEWS!!(that could be a good thing!!)

I called Bell Express Vue and they want one hundred dollars plus 14% tax's; for a new one... oh dear... this couldn't have happened at a worst time, with my son moving in 6 weeks! sigggggh

Going to Mom's to clean her place up today and tomorrow, see's ya's around, if I don't see ya's square!!

Hi Torch, well, we're just never going to know for sure... the Q now is, can we handle it? lol

The reciever is definately killed. I talked to the owner this AM. She does not want it replaced, meaning no more free satellite TV for us. Called cable co. and won't have a cable reciever for a week from today; they will arrive sometime between 9AM-5PM-nice waiting period huh? This bites big time!

Now what kinda flippin' karma would cause this mishap besides carelessness? lol Going to cost to have it installed, can't install it ourselve's no more, even though I been doing my job as a woman, and the household job of a man for 15 years!! I put together 10 speeds(with a billion cus words though) and even a drum set.._that just doesn't seem right I can't do it myself and save myself the 40+ installation?_ and then have to pay a month up front... that's just for basic..so... yuk! puke! fukidol! phooophy! and all that there kinda jazz.

Hi All, Just got word my brother may have had a stroke last week. His right hand, is limp. He was found unconcious. Nobody told me, until I cleaned at Mom's today. No wonder she looked so rough this past week. She didn't tell me, because me and my brother are estranged.

He goes for tests in Toronto, just waiting for the appointment to be set up. IF it was not a stroke, it may be attributed to a severely broken arm a few years ago; where the upper arm, just below the shoulder was severed(the bone, not the arm) in half, and jagged. Lots of damage. He slipped and fell on ice. They had to put a steel plate there, to join the bone together again. Lots of problems.

He and his wife are moving to China. She got a job offer, she couldn't refuse. They can come back after one year if they don't like it there. They have been packing, etc. and it's possible he aggravated the arm/shoulder, and the swelling is pressing on a nerve?

Either way, if the hand is limp; we are quite fearful. My younger and only brother left, is a severe alchoholic, and his abuse of his body; has impaired his ability to heal.

We are estranged because of his alchoholism and his verbal abuse, lies and theiving. I just couldn't have him influencing my son this way; nor continue to let him mentally/emotionally and verbally abuse us anymore. He's lived hear only four years, and has caused more hell; than hell probably has. I've tried everything to support, and love him unconditionally; but, alas I am only a human being too. I don't expect anyone to understand the severity his abuse could impact one with.

Regardless, he's my brother. My last brother. I love him, and worry for him....

Please, keep him in your prayers? Please, keep Mom in your prayers? She is so very prone to mini-strokes when under stress like this. She asked me to clean her home; which means she's worried herself sick. I wish she'd told me last week, when it happened. I suspect she didn't as my son's grad was occuring, and visitors from Arizona were coming...?

Sigggggh, what a day this past 24 hours has been... I need some luvin's...

I'm good. How are you? Yes, Mercury is currently retrograde, in Cancer sign (as per eastern astro) and will move back in Gemini on 20th July. A planet is said to be in retrograde (reverse) motion when it appears from the Earth that it is moving backwards. Usually all planets move in direct motion but a few times during the year they get retrograde.

Rahu-Ketu (the nodes) always move in retrograde motion.

North, turmeric is a yellow substance that is used in Indian cooking that is very good to eradicate Helicobacter pylori. Turmeric is a root. It is available as dried yellow powder in Indian groceries. It is very bitter. We use it in vegetables, curries, in meats, as well as some rice dishes. I have written a recipe of lemon rice on one of Shekhar's blog posts. It has turmeric in it.

North, here is a recipe for squash. Wash, peel, and cut squash--2 cups. Slice one small onion. crush 1 clove of garlic. Heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil, add the crushed garlic, add the onions, cook till onions are slightly brown, add less than a pinch of turmeric, enough salt and pepper, saute, add the squash add 1/4 cup water, simmer in low heat till tender. Garlic is optional. North, I hope that helps your stomach problem.

Turquoise is very popular where I live close to the Navajo reservation. They wear it around their wrists so that when they shake hands with someone, it is said that it protects them from any evil or wrong doing from that person. I know it is also used by Native American shamans to bring rain.

It affects different people differently according to how it is placed in their birth charts and whether it is a benefic or malefic to the individual. Since Mercury rules the intellect, communications, trade & commerce, it may make some people take unwise decisions relating to their work, if it is a malefic in their birth charts. But if it is a benefic for them as per their birth charts then it may result in windfall profits as well.

Geeta, thanks for the recipe's. I love curry rice and meats, and got out of using it when my son were little; and of course, feigned anything spicy! I used curry and tumeric... made me perspire profusely, but that's good!! lol I love garlic, but my tummy doesn't so has to be so mild now... I use it no matter; if I keep it mild; it's just too good for the blood, not to; regardless of sometimes my tummy not liking it. lol I eat a lot of onion : ) I love it eldente' it is so sweet...

North, Campin' was great, for the most part.

There is so much involved one needs to practice

more often, else one forgets several things which

one then has to buy at an inflated price! Two boys,

age 11 and 12, also came along. They don't have a

concerned father and they haven't camped nor did

they know how to bait a hook with a worm and they

didn't want to touch them. I therefore spent much

time baiting hooks, untangling lines, saying,"WATCH-OUT!",

taking little fishies off of hooks, climbing up

and down concrete slab shores and slipping on algae!

But they had a blast! They all learned how to cast fairly

quick. They wouldn't touch the fishies either.

We played "catch and release" rules so we cooked

(cringe)hot dogs, hamburgers and BBQ chicken.

They have a so-called sand beach so we were able to do

some swimming with floaties and sand toys.

My daughter and the oldest boy "hit it off" so

I had to keep an eye out for "risky behavior".

Very few folks out this last weekend, we practically

had the place to ourselves, like our own back-yard!

No "skeeters" but lots of ants and little spiders.

Doesn't matter how big the spider, now does it?

If there is one IN THE TENT, it must be eradicated,

immediatly! Butterflies, dragonflies and fireflies

make up for the insect's karma!

Wood-peckers, cardinals, blue-jays, turtle doves

and others make it so that one doesn't need a

boom-box...or I-pod. These folks are missing out!

Best of all, 3 rare pure white cranes that fly

early in the morning thru the mist, 6 inches

off the lake water! Beautiful scene!!!

Lots of early fireworks reflecting off the water

was also pretty keen! Half moon, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars,

nice! After all are in sleeping bags...I awake!

Must go shoot off some lights and noise now, hoping

no one gets "burned"! More to come...

I must tell ya all 'bout the Russian fellow I met

my first night alone, an ex-soldier, ex-enemy!

Be back in 6 hours or so to check for Kate and/or

other musings......................BOOM!!!

Keith... ah, and haven't I had years and years of camping under my belt of experience? My ex and I camped once, under them tall, slender tree's that seem to touch the sky. It was in Saskatchewan, I think; in an Indian Reserve/Museum Fortress. Fort Frances? I forget; it was mid-80's!! Anyway, the hush of those tree's the way they sway'd was so similar to the song's of the ocean... No other two sounds in the world, like that of gently blowing whispering trees, and the oceans splash's and waving tides as they rush to and fro....

My favorite sound I love to hear whenn camping is the loon!! My God! Thankyou!! The eagle!! The hawk!! They are gone, from our back yards, and owl's that once were heard... are all silent now, in my beautiful and vast, forested north country; my own little rain forest, waiting patiently for the northern lights; to come dance for me.

NO TV 3rd night.

Time did not stop.
There is life beyond the screen; and that is where I am, when I am not here. (wink)

Hey Keith, Geeta, Tiffany, Navin, Kavita, and the rest of you "regulars!"--Just had to say, Happy Fourth--am watching the fireworks displays against the backdrop, and some in them, of some mighty thunderstorms--the combination of manmade and nature-made lights-and-booms is incredible!

Thinking of you guys--and Keith, good boy--there are actually six volumes in the newest set, as the publisher (DeVross--who was soooo.....much a part of Baird T. Spaldings life--including being his business manager--came out with 13 file boxes in the early 90's--but they are supposed to put the volumes on audiobook this summer)--but real good Keith, amazing stuff, n'est pas?!

Am currently rereading vol.s 4-6 right now--over and over--that pattern continues to reveal and strengthen the overall message, and drive the paradigm-of-thinking deeper and deeper into the subconscious programming.

PIT Vs NEWS HYPE

A little boy named prince get escaped from a 60 feet deep pit. This child lived in kurukshetra.
The boy is 5 year old and he was struggling with His fight for life and death. He was in the pit for
50 hours.the army helped little boy to escape from the pit and the NEWS channels covers the news making it as a breaking news they make it a national issue and telecasted it live .
no doubt the news was necessary but the way in which the NEWS CHANNELS give it to the audience
was not correct.
So much hype given to such an incident is not understandable by me. Even news channels telling that now prince had eaten biscit.now taken water
And displaying it as the breaking news. is this the standard of news nowdays…….
On the other hand news channels neglected the news like escape of Indians from Lebanon and one Indian devesh kr swain. is killed in ongoing voilance in Lebanon while three got injured.
