YUCK!

Gotham Chopra - June 27, 2006

Today has been one of those days that by its end, I am definitely going to need a shower to clean up. Agents, producers, directors, actresses - all with different (strong) POVS. Different cooks in one kitchen with me being the head chef - or, more apt, the maitre d' juggling everyone's interest.

Truthfully, the last thing I wanted when I started this business was to make my life an endless series of meetings and conversations with Hollywood agents and producers. Getting yelled at by producers who make big budget movies for a living is just so....meaningless. It's not what I signed up for and yet that's what I find myself overwhelmed by.

This is my problem because I am sensing that perhaps I have set up a mouse-trap that is destined to trap me. All I want to do now is run away to India and work with my artists and let Hollywood continue with its self-obsession.

Hmmm, we need more information ??

Sorry you had a "no good, very bad day" :(

Make tomorrow better!

Joanie

call it a quatumleap, friend,
that's what I do,

I'll put some nice polish pics up a blog, real soon, Polish pierogi and such, friday is my departure, if no Dutch Mega (legal) Ego, crosses my path, again, because, those consumption units of self-absorption.. had enough of that show, myself,

No stress, no worries!,
otherwise its not your Dharma,

Na Zdrowie,
Love, Passion!

My advice Gotham,

Don't put up with the whiners and complainers and yellers, either they behave or you can take your buisness elsewhere if you have that option.

They must see you as an easy mark Gotham, so just use your powerful intent to say enough is enough!

Since you are the main man here locally, just hang tough, and just think of how much stronger you will be after all this nonesense. It's a tough business, but I know you are tougher Gotham, even though you may not think so.

Good luck,

Steve

Well Gotham, when you want to dance you "gots to pay the piper". And unfortunately middle management is the piper.

If you haven't gotten a chance to read the "Hitchhikers Guide" Trilogy by Douglas Adams, I highly recommend it. He has some creative things for middle management to do.

Peace,
Scott.

Yo, Gotham, that's showbiz.

I have agood friend that works sound in the independent film universe and lives in LA. He also does recording for musicians on the side.

He tells me he's always so happy to work for the musicians, because they are a lot easier to get along with than the film-egos.

The film industry is all about huge egos. Interesting coming from such a spiritually influenced background you would have chosen that field.

I guess it's your ego-university training.

Too many producers actually think it is their job to yell at lesser mortals all day long. Too many directors think that everyone else on the planet is stupid for not woshipping their great artistic visions.

Most of their great egotistical masterb****s aren'teven worth the price of a single blank DVD, much less two to three hours of an intelligent person's time.

Just my opinion, of course.

Y-A-W-N.

Give me a jam session any day.

Gotham,

Sorry to hear about your difficulties with the Hollywood agents. I am actually working with the Hollywood agents for a talent agency this summer in Los Angeles . . . I hope all of your difficulties are resolved in a timely manner.

Best,
Matt Welsh

Dear Gotham,
what is stopping you from doing what you want?

Cinda

ref. 8. Surely you can figure out why Bhagwan . . .

Since you are talking of going back to India, you may want to meet your namesake, Dr Rakesh Chopra. http://www.stresseradication.com/ . He has some of the most original ideas on various spiritual and management issues.

Gotham,

The creative industries are no different in India. The moment anything goes big budget, arm-twisting slides in oh so beautifully into play.

But after a lot of ego-shedding, I have realised that creative people also have bombastic notions about how things should be. They take monies from everyone else and from then on, want to dictate every single thing according to their private thinking. Doesn't work that way in any sphere of life, how come a script/book/play becomes so singularly special?

Ultimately, they also need to understand that like everything else, creative freedom comes with limits. And nothing wrong in that, if you ask me.

Dear Mallika, please see post # 8 above in this blog. When I post a comment that has words " gay" and "nude" in it in the DC'S LOVE BIZARRE blog or your OPEN THREAD, I get the message:

Thank you for commenting.
Your comment has been received and held for approval by the blog owner.

Please let me know if the the words 'gay' and 'nude' are not permitted on Intentblog. I will modify my comment. It is about translation of a page from Kama Sutra on the topic of Scratching and Biting the Lover in Love Play. And there is nothing of pornographic nature in it.

Please release the comment or advise me to revise it. I will wait for your response. Thanks

Dear Gotham,
I am sending a hug your way. And
my love,
~ Kate

To get at the core of an apple, one must first bite the tough, bittery skin encasing it.

Gotham, once the skin is gone, all you will then have left, is the sweetness of the apple!

When you are down to the core.. the job is done.

Dumb metaphor I know, but I just couldn't think up anything frickin' brilliant, so smile!... hug Candace, and focus on the tasks, not on your disproval of working on them(wink) and before you know it, you will be in the right state of being with it....

Dear Gotham, since the words "gay" and "nude" did go through in Post #12 above, I guess there must be some other reason why my comment was not published in the DC's LOVE BIZARRE blog. Could you please advise me on its release.

"ref. 8. Surely you can figure out why Bhagwan . . ." ~Craig

Only Intentblog or God can figure out why...

So I wait for a response from Mallika or Gotham as to why the comment is being held for approval.
It will help the posters to make future comments, hopefully.

One possible reason: if you tried to refresh the page too soon, or too often; it might receive more than one post. IF this occurs, the system would suspect spam, and hold it.

IF this happens again, try this:

use the <--back button, refresh the page, repost.

Always copy your post first.... then paste it again if necessary.

Hope this helps?

North

Goth,
You always make me laugh.....but remember to sit back for a few moments each day and just FEEL GRATITUDE..........it helps me put my perceived "stressors" into perspective.
I had a beautiful moment today: I walked downstairs and took a minute to sit in the sunlight that was streaming thru the window. Of course my cat, Magic, joined me in this moment of peace. As I sat there, the sun shining on my face, I thought of what was happening around me at that time. My son, 17 and healthy was upstairs playing his computer game. My husband and daughter were home also, safe and happily occupied. We have a nice home with lots of windows to let the sun shine in. We all are relatively healthy. At that moment, I felt such gratitude as I cannot find the words to describe. Amidst a busy day, I felt such thankfulness and I told the universe "thank you for such blessings".
Perhaps during a not so pleasant meeting, you could take a few seconds to shut your eyes and just FEEL GRATITUDE.

"Getting yelled at by producers..." ~Gotham

How dare anybody yell at our dear Gotham?

oh gratitude ... and laughter ...

lightposts when I forget ...

the agony and ecstasy

calling me to stay tuned ...

as I wonder " where do I belong?"

feeling the stretch

of a gift I would never guess ...

a year international program of high level coaching

showing up in ways that defy human comprehension

and yet

a match to Gods outflow ...

I came to know so very well ...

strangely appearing

when I scream loud and clear

"where are you ??? I am running out of battery .. in case you have not noticed "

hummm

gods undeniable sense of humor ...

inviting me to laugh ...

to my baby whining...

believing I can go back to the safety of an old decaying world ...

don't I know better ???

Hi Gotham,

Welcome to the club, and man, what makes you think India is so good to work in as a producer? If you find a comfort factor here in India, you should be truly blessed to be in such a comfort zone. I envy you for that.

Cheers

Hanging in there.

Love,
J

LOL, i wish one of my complaints was about having to go to meetings with Hollywood agents, producers, directors, and actresses!

Hi Gotham,
Bummer.
We think it is this or that that is trying to trap us, but I think it's really life that is the "mouse trap" you speak of. And we're all destined to be trapped! We can run but we can't hide. :)

Love, Kristin

If those producers yell at you, just yell back!

That's fascinating Gotham, it's kind of a synchrodestiny because I wrote a song this morning, it goes like this. "You can have all the money, just give me peace and quiet." And I have found that quiet by living camped out in nature. It's great!

Funny.

When the poor camp out in nature it is called vagrancy . . .

Hmmm, might be a good title for a song though, "Jesus was a vagrant."

hey gotham its a part and package deal that u get along when you get life and it is only a learning process for all of us. it is all meant to make each one of strong and a better person and teaches us how to deal on various situations in life.
for now, over come this and try and live life happily, its toooo short for everyone.
love,
S

Gotham,

Detach and observe for there are a series of amusing events occuring:-) Enjoy the ride.

Love, Suzanne

what is happening on the top threads..

it shows up as document ...

feels overwhelming to me ...

don't like it ...

Gotham, let me count your blessings. You have parents that love you unconditionally. You have a really cool sister. Two nieces that adore you. I liked ,"How to know God". Mallika and you have done a great job as producers. You have a super Doc, and a surgeon for a wife. You have so many admirers on the blog."Every one loves Gotham". When you feel frustrated, start counting your blessings.

Running to India, and hanging out with the artists in an excellent idea. India is so calming, and nurturing. It is rainy season. Bangalore will be cool, and beautiful. I would love to be in LALBAGH, or KABBAN PARK. Gotham, may I bless you with PEACE and TRANQUILITY??Gotham are you against people blessing you??

Life is not fair be used to it....

Man! I agree and I understand your point of view.

But let's think a bit. And if
- Hollywood = illusion (or ego)
- India = Be yourself
- producers = negative energies (bad leaders)

Maybe you do not have to go anywhere. There are people everywhere ready to make loose your mind. But where is the weakness?

Today I got mad, with a new feeling that we are still at the surface. There is something fooling us all the time. I think there is solutions. What do you think about active meditation? Here I mean; collective actions of mans, positively grounded.

We got the books. We red them all. Let's stop to make the ego-money and let's balance our lives, all together. Individualy, alone, I do not think we can made it. The force is too weak. How? We should talk. I cannot bring the universal solution just by myself to everyone, I'm not a dictator. Imagine, even lovers needs to talk to keep them united.

The symbol of a super hero could be nothing else than a group of mans linked together by deep spirit inspirations. I think individual self goal and honor is maybe creating the weakness and should be reversed (our Hollywood).

To be a positive leader we do not have to make wars but we really have to "positively fight", all, at the same time. Thanks to a lot of women that have show a way to bring hope, actions and justice.

Suggestion: Maybe you could start a new post, called something like: "Where is the thing to fight - Where are the real fighters?".

Force and love to Chopra's family. I admire the grace in your family, Gotham!
