Joanie Reisfeld

Hi all, In the spirit of a lighter side of IntentBlog...I am sharing my pictures of the Butterfly Exhibit that I recently went to...

We have had a longstanding "Butterfly Connection" here on IntentBlog. Being at this exhibit was just so refreshing! The butterflies just do their thing….speaking of doing their thing…check out the mating picture…So how do butterflies do this…anyway? Whatever… their gracefulness shows in all respects…

For those of you that know I founded a non-profit 13 years ago to support women on bedrest due to high-risk pregnancies… www.betterbedrest.org. Check out where the butterfly landed on my back…pretty cool!

Well, enjoy….and may we all take some moments to enjoy the “lightness” in life too, just like these butterflies who bring beauty to our lives for such a short time. The butterfly is my good luck symbol….. Click on Photo Show.

Dear Joanie, hi butterfly lady!! : )

I have been collecting butterflies since 1980, and my house is filled with butterfly ornaments meticulously placed here and there.

Absolutely many bows and kudo's to you Joanie, for your program for women in risk pregnancy's!! Do you also care for women after birth, with no family near?

I could not get your show to run, I think to many are ON at once, or could be prime-time for my server? ugh! Will try again later.. b/c there is NO way, I missing this show!!

With Loving Kindness,
North

Dear Joanie,
What a fantastic slide show, and musical accompaniment! Thank you so much for putting this together and sharing it at intent.

I do love butterflies, like North, and many others. I marvel at their beauty and delicacy, and myriad shapes and colors.

I did notice how the one butterfly landed on your t-shirt, by the march of dimes emblem. That is so cool.

I celebrate the joys and Life's gifts with you.

With love,
~ Kate

Dear Joanie,

The photos are so colorful. Even the song is nice. Thanks for the show... It's a sweet surprise this morning.

Dear North,
Glad to see you back.
Love to all,
Donatella

The Colors and shapes of Nature can really stir the spirit,

I loved your presentation Joanie,

Thank you very much for that

Love Simon xx

Joanie,

Thank you for adding beautiful wings and a colorful array of light to this Sunday morning!

.

Yesterday, many eyes were glued to the skies

for we had the "Guardians" air show in town.

Fast and furious, loud and proud are The Blue Angels

in their spectacular F-18's with yellow-tipped wings.

Once...they passed straight overhead, six of them

in a pyramid formation, perfectly spaced and orderly.

And here comes a Monarch...fluttering, twirling

and doing her loop-de-loops in the air,

mid-way between my eyes and the jets.

It was very comical, as if she were saying,

"Look at me! I can still fly circles around those guys!"

In a way...she stole the show and my thoughts.

Power...Courage...Top Guns..."Home of the Brave"...

What need has she of such things?

She gracefully took her leave

and the wind carried her away.

Thanks Joanie, I enjoyed that. Nice choice for the music too. A butterfly poem for you:

"Butterfly Miracle"

A butterfly knows magic

Her very existence is a testimony to the miraculous

She doesn’t have a mind
To explain her transformation

She lives it

From scruffy caterpillar
To a winged being floating across the sky

The sun kisses her

She does not think –
“The sun has noticed me!”

She does not think at all

The wind caresses her fragile body –
Even her private parts!

Still, she does not blush with pride or shame

She lives but she does not fear life’s parting

Instead
She dances across the sky

Free
To simply be

A butterfly

Enjoy your day. :)
Love, Kristin

Hi again,

North, no we do not support after birth. We do one follow-up call to see if the mom might think she has post partum depression. If so, we encourage her to call her doctor.

Keith,
I have never seen a "Guardian" air show. I think that would be neat..Yes, that butterfly was definatly showing off her butterfly wings!

Kristin,

Your poem is great. They are truly the "Grace Kelly's" of insects!

Enjoy your day everyone. Thanks for the comments. I hope everyone enjoys the pictures as much as I have, taking them and continuing to look at them as well. Love, Joanie

Hi Joanie, thanks for the show.. simply marvelous!! Well you know what they say--takes a butterfly to attract a butterfly(gentle smiles.) Awesome pics/show/music--very talented lady you are Joanie!! Thanks for answering my Q...

Hi Donatella, thankyou.

With Loving Kindness,
North

So weak, the gilded butterfly scarce perches on my head.
Yet I am visited from heaven, and he that smiles on all

Dear Joanie

Perfect timing for your post, today, when I was stopped at a red light, I glanced to the side of the rode and saw a beautiful monarch butterfly fluttering around a purple flower. I said, to my mom, "I saw the most butterflies this year! I am so glad they are back!" I planted cosmo flowers on the side of our driveway and butterflies love them! I even found a catepillar nestled against the stem.

Great pics!

Thanks for sharing!

Donna

oopss

road not rode...sorry

Really cool pictures Joanie... butterflies are one of the few insects that, when one comes near me, I don't instantly freak out! HAHA!

If you've never heard Wayne Dyer speak about how he got the inspiration for the cover of his "Inspiration" book, look into it, I think you'll appreciate it--plus it's hilarious!

Joanie: A magnificent show to give us for this week's Intentions.

I have never seen a butterfly laying on it's back like that--several of them--tell me more--what's that about!

You give a new and double-meaning to the term, "butterfly lovers!"--They are all exquisite regarding their inspiring beauty.

Like Keith, who's coincidental visitor is a delight to read about against the backdrop of those thundering "birds," it looks like these winged creatures are keeping their eyes on you two.

Thank You very much for this wonderfully Sunday delight--Dave

Thanks Joanie! That was awesome! Beautiful camera work with the butterflies. God bless you. Love, M:)

Dear Joanie,
Before going to sleep I wanted to see the butterflies one more time :)
Love,
Donatella

Hi Donatella,

I know how you feel...I look at them a lot too. A feeling of happiness just comes over me when I see on outside. It is hard to explain!

David,
The Butterfly Lovers on their back...hmmmm not sure but I guess it was just me being there at the right moment...I think the butterflies are looking over me too and us two :D

Joanie

Hi Joanie!

On this crisp Autumn day in the Midwest, it’s pleasant to see your photos and remember the lovely days of summer with the beautiful butterfly visitors.

Love, Patzi

Joanie, I loved the slide show. I love butterflies too like the rest of my friends here. Thanks a lot. Love and God bless.

Aloha Joanie

I loved the slide show. Patricia Sun shares how the caterpillar will eat until his guts turn into liquid and then the butterfly. I love living life as a butterfly metaphor where our safety lies in our defenselessness. Mahalo for showing us their beauty. love patty

Dear Patty,
Hello, it is nice to see you again and read your comment!

I love the way the butterfly has complete trust to emerge from its cocoon, so small and fragile, and open its wings, to live among a huge universe, in the most daunting and challenging environment, casting its own beauty amidst creation. No wonder they capture my fascination and marvel, to Be.

Thanks again Joanie, for a great slide show!
With love,
~ Kate

Patty: Just yesterday I had been wondering why I hadn't seen you here; whenever I think of "A Course in Miracles," I think of you, and "Aloha--'Hello, Goodbye, and I love you!'"

My favorite part of the caterpillar's transformation follows thusly: Upon reading about a spectator observing the newly forming butterfly, and its attempts to break through the cocoon to seek its freedom to fly, the observer tried to help gently open the cocoon for the butterfly since he thought its sticky and moist body was "stuck" to the walls of the cocoon--it died as a result of the help.

It turns out that the butterfly needs the struggle to free itself so it can strenghten its new body, while it simultaneously dries its newly expanding wings--such the phases and cycles of our own lives, n'est pas?!

Very good to see you here again, Patty--Dave

Joanie: Thank you for sharing. I loved it.
