I posted an answer on your Yahoo Answers question on this subject.
Are you familiar with Dr. Jeffry Long's work regarding Near Death Experiences? His site is at http://www.nderf.org.
I have also been pursuing a philosophical/spiritual question and would like to get others' perceptions (I'm afraid I may already have my own answer for myself; the question is without any 'correct' answer IMHO, and for discussion/exploration only).
My question is: "What is self?"

I tried to sign in on yahoo but for whatever reason I could not. I did die twice on one morning June 28 2000 between midnight and 2:20 in the morning from a rattlesnake bite. I eventually recieved 22 vials of antivenom to keep me alive. I do not think that we die, our physical self dies, and our soul gets absorbed back into where we came from. the energy still exists

what a stupid question asked
by some stupid person who
assumes there is a soul and
there is a spiritual after-life
souls, spirits, god, heaven or hell
are just musings of the dumb mind
the mind that only speculates and never
proves there’s anything in after-life
like old Indian rishis writing Vedas
explaining everything in the world
creating never dying souls and gods
this dumb mind follows their path.
