Vijay Sappani - January 01, 2007
That's what I will say if you asked me to put 2006 in one word.
I know I have been away for a while, but I came everyday to read posts. While I can give a zillion reasons to say why I haven't been regular but the truth is that I didn't have that little; little extra motivation that I needed to blog here. I blogged a lot on my own site, but mostly on Canadian politics ( remember that piece of land above Bush country). So one of my New year resolutions is to blog more often at Intent and discuss on a variety of topics of interest.
I will come back later to post a more meaningful entry, but I will leave you with a thought that inspired me. I always had an excuse not to exercise and my New year resolution (another one)is to get back in shape. What inspired me is when I read that C.Rice wakes up every morning at 4:30am to exercise, even when travelling! While I find an excuse to convince myself that I'm busy not to exercise, C.Rice makes time to exercise in spite of her busy schedule. The former Canadian foreign minister John Manley, who loves to run marathon's used to run to office three times a week. Imagine the Indian foreign minister jogging to office and all the traffic halts and diversions because of it.
Anyways the moral of the story to me was that everyone has 24 hours in their life, it is about how we prioritise it and how we use it. My 24 hrs couldn't fit in 30 minutes of exercise in 06, but it will fit in 60 minutes of exercise everyday in 07, because it is my time and I control it. Good luck and try and fit in 30 minutes in your life to exercise in 07, because it is your time and your and your life.

Hi Vijay - Happy New Year!
Luckily for me, I love to exercise so no resolutions necessary. What might help is if you vary your workouts - like swimming, biking, hiking, gymming, yoga, etc. That way you won't get bored with any of them.
Hi Divya, Happy New year to you too! The challenge for most is the motivation to get to the gym. Once you are there, I think the enviroment will motivate you to keep going. I agree having some variations in your work out is very helpful.
Hi Vijay,
Wish u a happy New Year 2007, it is nice to see you among posts, do try to stick to your new year resolution.
