Vijay--rather frightening, isn't it? This is in large part, why every Canadian should be aware of US policy, as it will effect our future, our safety, our country. Just being next door neighbours, we will be in the middle of any of their wars on the homefront--Bush is ensuring more and more... an attack on the US. Why is he pushing the world of terrorism onto the US doorstep, and now ours; just b/c we are next door? Frightening to think that Canada and the US, could be the next, Iraq and Iran--or North/South Korea.... the shifts in power, which has occured since the Bush administration debacle; has pretty much condemmned the future freedoms and liberties of the US and Canada.

Actually, Steve, I agree with this point since back in 2003 the polls in the USA were over 60 percent against the invasion of Iraq, continually, and overnight they starting reporting the other way, over 60 percent "for" the invasion of Iraq, and this was before the so-called phony proof was brought before the United Nations. The reason I remember this is becuase my sister and I were both amazed at the change in numbers, overnight, and discussed it, both agreeing that poll numbers do not change that fast for no apparent reason. Weeks later the phony presentation was given at the UN. I have never trusted polls after that.

Harper is a Bush, with intelligence. It appears, he is back-tracking, and repeating in Bush's footsteps. It appears, he is willing to take us into the hostility of global warring, despite the death tolls, despite the land-destructions; despite even, the threat of global, thermo-nuclear war.

What is frightening, is we the mass's have nothing to say about it anymore; when governments do not work for us; they work "against us."

Canada is currently so riddled with political scandals, its ridiculous and ludicrous to continue to believe, "we are the people" that rule our own nations.

Perhaps, the only nation any man, woman or child truly rules; is the nation within themselve's...and even there, it is said; it is God's Will--but, how do we have free-will; when the violence, corruptions and greeds; are unfairly stacked against us?

For the past ten years, Canada has become embroiled in political greed. Beginning in 1996-97 with a 21.6% income decrease; to every aged, disabled, and lone parent families on the safety net systems. Ontario took the larger brunt; which is hypocritical, being one of the richest provinces in Canada.

It is troubling, that my beloved Canada; a nation once compiled of compassionate human beings; has become embroiled in tyranny at home... where politicians "took" from the poorest, the past ten years, and then appointed themselves up to 20% income increases to their salary. PM Chretien alone, took more than 2/3rds of the raise!!

Canadians are being ripped off, deprived of their natural inheritence of Canada's natural wealth of resources; to line the pockets of just another corrupt political/religious based/run country.

No wonder, the rich and powerful strive to reach the moon and mars.. they know, this planet is f'd.

IF we invested in earth, instead of dominating earth; we could build an eternal paradise.. for all!

Muslim-Canadians need to build a strong safety-net support group, for incoming Muslims to Canada. Some are coming to Canada, with anger, hostility and an ancient belief-system, which has embroiled the Muslim homeland, warranting those whom can afford or able to; to flee thier homelands.

Muslim-Canadian beliefs much change to match Canadian standards; in regards to equality for women in Canada; and that, abuses towards women and children by spouses.. will NOT be tolerated here!!

Many recent studies have shown; that newly arriving Muslims face all you mention Vijay; then it is imperitive, they are supported in a longer-term, than just entry to liberation and freedom Canada offers.

Most Muslim women and children, in Canada--still live in the "old world" at home, yet; face a hypocritial world, in the new world, where husbands carry on the vigilance of hate/anger and political/religous fanaticism.

WE, as Canadians DO strive, to narrow the anvils of abuse against women, children and any/all; whom cannot defend themselves.

How many Muslim women and children are being abused by their husbands in Canada? Not on the whole; but, in the Muslim traditions, of corporal-punisment-treating women and children?

IF this abuse cannot be abdicated here, then the boys which are continuously raised with this way of living; are cursed to repeat the sins of the father...regardless of the country they live in?

What frightens me about Harper, and the current Administration of the past ten-fifteen years; is that we are transgressing, rather than progressing towards equality for all?

I have 27-29, Canadian government books on women's rights in Canada, pertaining to Native Aboriginals, and all; women and children in Canada.

When I stopped advocating years ago, I offered the books to many women's groups, to offer them clear research, and awesome resources for themselves.

Not one womens group, or minority group, accepted the gifted offerings... which were Federal Government obtained, during my advocating days/nights...where I ensured!! EVERY library in town, had a copy of all 27 government-issue books!!

These books, sit in a box in my porch, now subjected to environmental damages... what a shame, that the minority groups here, want help.. but are NOT willing, to work for it; by learning their legal rights... siggggh

WE live in -30 to -40 below zero temps here in the rural north.. most poor, do not have vehicles, we have NO bus's.. and they wear clothes, not financially suitable for our environment...nor, can the working poor, afford adequate heat and hydro anymore!!

SOoo many building for sale here in town... sitting idle, rotting; while the poorest families, live in dives, more than 30% below poverty levels....
