In the clash between two Elephants, the grass is bound to get crushed. In the war between India and Pakistan, it is the civilians who are getting killed.
On the eve of peace talks between India and Pakistan, bombs ripped through a train that travels to Pakistan from India. The train service was the biggest symbol of improvements in the peace talk between the arch Nuclear rival.
Pakistan has become the global hub for international terror, mostly supported by their intelligence agency ISI, something that many countries including US, UK Israel and India have accused them of. It is too early to predict which terrorist group is behind this, but this is no time to play the blame game.
This blog get’s a lot of visitors from South Asia and South Asians living in North America. My request to you is that, the only enemy here are the terrorists who are trying to derail the peace talks. There is no point in blaming people on the Indian side or the Pakistan side, but good can only come by supporting the peace talks and encouraging your people and governments to go ahead with the peace talks. We can not let this act of cowardice stall the peace talks. We can not let the enemy win, we can not let the terrorists win. It doesn’t matter if you are an imam in Pakistan reading this blog, a priest in India or a computer professional in North America, do not focus on the problem, but focus on the solution; the solution being keep the Peace talks going.
Kudos to the Pakistan government on agreeing to send their delegation to India for the peace talks and congratulations to the Indian government to put the differences aside and issue visas to the relatives of the dead and injured from the Pakistan side.

Peace talks is the solution. Agreed.
But, you are missing the point in your very naive post where you declared that only enemy is the Unnamed Terrorists:
What effects these attacks will have on the ongoing peace talks?. This incident certainly puts India at a disadvantage at the negotiating table especially in regard to the core issue of Kashmir ,which is THE key to any long term peace in the region. State sponsored terrorism is not new to the Pakistan, while turning a blind-eye is quiet for them post 911. The intelligence agencies who *may be behind this don't leave clues. These kind of attacks are a win win situation to pakistan at the negotiating table. Or, may be, the business minded Terrorists are funding themselves with such attacks by controlling the Indian stock market as was reported by Indian intelligence agencies last week. There may be other reasons for this particular attack. More may be revealed later to the public if the Indian Intelligence are half as smart as their neighbors.
I would like to hear Deepak weigh in on this discussion, so far he hasn't addressed this difficult yet important issue of bringing peace between India and Pakistan.
Thanks for sharing Vijay, keep us informed over here in the states.

"do not focus on the problem, but focus on the solution"
This was quite funny. do not focus on the problem?? Exactly. that is why those two countries are suffering since the day of Gandhi. Spoke like a politician. They may solve that problem in the 22nd century maybe.
Dear Vijay
I wonder that neither India's nor Pakistan's security efforts prevented the attack. Why didn't they institute the highest levels of security for this train, at least at this time?
Dear IV
I disagree that the attack puts India at a disavantage. India's independence, measured forcefulness in speech, and compassion are well known worldwide, and Pakistan's leaders would certainly anticipate India speaking against terrorism at this moment. In fact, the moment offers a tatical advantage to India: It almost forces Pakistan's leaders to oppose terrorism more openly.

"DEEWANA (Haryana): Virtually admitting a security lapse in the Samjhauta Express blasts, railway minister Lalu Prasad on Monday said there was no equipment for checking what was there inside the luggage.
"Though there are metal detectors, we don't have the equipment to check what is inside the luggage. We can't deny security lapse," he told reporters in Deewana when asked if there was any security lapse in the checking-in of Samjhauta Express passengers...
... Prasad, who visited the site of the incident around 100 km from Deewana, also said each and every luggage could not be checked as it caused inconvenience to the passengers..."

A little inconvenience might have found the bombs and saved the lives of 67 passengers. If tougher security procedures, including checking the bags of all passengers, was well-known, a terrorist attack might have been completely discouraged.

What you sow is what you reap now
I’ll do my dance with everyone
I’ve been getting too much Sun
If I turn the other cheek now
Would that be, would that be too much fun for them?
Look who’s talking
Guilty feet now…
Well let me tell you people
It’s an easier affair
Not livin’ my life with other people on my mind
No, got nothing to hide from anyone
‘Cos I’m walking on new air
Just living my life
Better believe I’m gonna get what’s mine
See I don’t have the time for the haters
Don’t let them tell you who you are is not enough
Don’t let them tell you that it’s wrong
Or that you won’t find love
Don’t let them use my life to put your future down
Don’t let them tell you that happiness can’t be found
For my life
Take it to the streets
There are stories you can keep
They’re just passing you by
Don’t let them tell you who you are is not enough
Don’t let them tell you that it’s wrong
Or that you won’t find love
Don’t let them use my life to put your future down
Don’t let them tell you that happiness can’t be found...
Be whatever you want to
We need you
Whatever you been through
is yours not mine
You have to be productive now
Suffering is life
Don't blame me
You are a star
Don't think
We have planned everything
