Suchitra Krishnamoorthi - February 26, 2007
In the previous post that i wrote "Art in a body part" I was trying to understand the world around me and express myself.
Understand myself as i stand alone and in the context of the outside world. It was provoked by my previous days experience on the chat on a television channel that explored the dynamic between the male and female.
This morning i find myself in the front page of the Bombay Times.
The headline is"dude-wanna pose nude? Suchitra Krishnamoorthi is looking for hot bodied, young men to pose nude for her canvas"
I'm loving the reactions from my family and well wishers
from "are you okay chotu? " to 'what happened baby? why are you suddenly talking such rubbish?"
"great photograph-but did you really mean that?" 'why dont you take a holiday & come spend some time with us in Chennai?" "Is kaveri okay -how is she coping?" to "go for it girl-I am with you !" to "how refreshing-i preceived you quite differently" "what will shekhar say when he reads this?"etc etc
I am amused -i have been inundated by calls all morning since Gayatri's article appeared in this mornings newspaper. Ofcourse the article sticks to discussing the last part of my previous post where i talk about finding my male muse-aged between 18-25. Dosent touch upon any of the other points i wrote about-fair enough. Everybody's gotta do what they gotta go. A story is a story is a story-just this time around it happens to be mine
I am being bombarded-Calls and emails from model co-ordinators and bollywood/televison agents and secretaries who want me to meet up with potential candidates who want to pose in the nude for me. Most of the offers are very sincere and very hopeful. "Please madam-just take a look" ."ek baar bas mil lo aap"
I'm touched-I was just trying to let my head wander and push artistic boundaries-never intented to make a mockery of anyones ambitions and hopes.
Also fascinated-my thought provoking experiment seems to have worked.
Just goes to show that power is power and is absolute-nothing to do with male or female-and our perceptions of power are invariably what operates within our own heads and so translates to the world we create around us.
& confused....
all over again... :-)
So how real is really real?
Or is the world around us just "maaya" then?- an illusion?
So till my next post
"adios amigos"

Hi Suchitra,
The muse you choose has to be very famous.
Ranbir Kapoor would be ideal.
RK studios is famous for "Satyam Shivam Sundaram" "Ram Teri Ganga Maili".
And now "Prithviraj Tera par pota a muse"
You rock Suchi
With lots of love
Rajesh Sharma
Hi Suchitra,
We expect you to do it again and again.
Thanks

Suchitra,
I guess you will need set up an audition. You could announce that you will broadcast it live over the Internet. You could even charge for it.
I can set that up..
You could also announce that you are looking for a well endowed muse.
You could have other women vote on your muse.
While you have the attention of everyone impart some awareness.
Now what would be cool is if you broadcast the painting of the painting over the Internet. Id watch that.
Then auction the painting on the Internet.
What other famous painting has a video of it being painted?
hi Rajesh hi Richard
thanx for writing in
the calls are still coming by the dozen
my house is filled with many bouquets-pretty pretty red and yellow flowers
& yes i also have had a few calls from television channels asking if they could do a story on the making of the male muse!
met a friend in the elevator who asked me if i want him to take his clothes off? or is he too old to qualify :-)
Hi Suchitra,
Thanx for your reply.
Take the opportunity.
Really really name a popular good looking muse and start painting him in the way your brain waves conceive him.
Be is a popular movie star or can be a famous sports man or even a famous book writer, you should really like him or his physique.
With lots of Love and Roses

Hi deepsadv,
You can also start a new story with a MUSE.
Thanks
With lots of love
Rajesh Sharma
What's all this Dear Rajesh? Everyone is asking to remove their clothes. Are you Inspiring her now with the Superwaves brain theory to paint? why don't you be the muse? I've never seen as amusing and funny as you, but you're a good heart.
Navin: What's this story about post divorce with Shekhar? Is she divorced now? Living in mumbai, you should be knowing a lot.
Hi Hasela,
Suchitra's painting of supra brain wave would be great.
I would like to suggest her to DRAW SUPRA UNIVERSE.
As theory says ALL IS ONE AND ONE IS ALL.
Whoever is the muse he is me and i am him.
Love you a lot
Rajesh Sharma
Hi Suchitra,
You Rock Suchitra and you are going to Rock in Ram Gopal Verma's Sholay.
Enjoy.

Rajesh: You know so much about movies. Do you follow both bolly and holly? I follow tolly too;) Is she doing the role of helen, the mood she is in?
Hi Hasela,
She is playing role of Gabbar Singh's (AB's) wife.
She rocks man.
With lots of love
Rajesh Sharma
Gabbar's wife?? I saw sholay a few times, as it is one of the best movies bolly has ever produced. As far as my memory goes, Gabbar didn't have a wife. Are they turning and rotating the storyline, the way you were talking about rotating. Long time back, I had seen her in that Anna song, what was the movie Raju bangaya gentleman? And one music video "jabse dekha". She's ok, average. But maybe you are her fan. I was surprised that you know about stocks too. I'm learning so much in your company Raju!
You go, Girl!
Just locate some young model guy and make your paintings, just like it was the ordinary thing to do.
It shouldn't be a contest to to see who becomes your model. Just think about what you want the art to look like and the feelings you want it to evoke, and choose your model accordingly. Maybe some completely unknown student guy.
Just do it for the art's sake. Just hire the model, and don't make abig deal out of it.
By treating it as absolutely ordinary - artist hires model, that's it - you hold the perfect mirror up to society.
If the people get all funky about it, it actually becomes part of the art. Their reactions become part of the work. You could exhibit some of their responses along with the paintings one day. It would be quite an exhibit.
But if you try to insert foregone conclusions into it by making a big deal out of the model, you will spoil it.
Just make your art. Let the people react. Let their reactions become part of the artistic creation. Haha. It'll be a riot! Think what it'll be like 20 years from now!
The key is to just do it as if it was the absolutely most ordinary thing. That way the people's reactions will be reflected like on a still mountain lake. It will be a contribution to art bigger than the paintings themselves because of the context in which you are doing it.
I love the idea!
Suchitra:
Why dont you record a message for the callers on your voice mail which may go something like this:
"Thanks for calling, I am sorry I cannot get to the phone right away as this young 21 year old hunk is taking off his clothes for *me*. He is almost done with his pants... as soon I get done with him, I will call you back."
.. followed by a raunchy song - maybe like that Bidi song from Omkara??
Now THAT will be one heck of a thing! ;-)
Cheers,
Desh

Shekar would be so proud of all this!!
Hi Obro,
Please also provide the reason why Shekhar would be proud of all this?
Thanks
Lots of love to you,
Rajesh
Rajesh in hindi we say "Mu math kulvavon yaar". That's all I can say.
Hasela dude,
Don't put me in a spot by asking such questions (your post #9). I don't take undue interest in other people's personal lives and neither should you. :) Both Suchitra and Shekhar are Sagittarians, so you can expect the unexpected from them. The next thing you may hear is that they have both married again (each other).
Cheers!
Navin
PS: And btw, as per my info she is playing Mohanlal's (noted South actor) wife in RGV's Sholay and not AB's.
Wow Navin! What a personal question that was. They are public figures. To have asked you a question because you seem to be knowing so much is getting personal. A lot of popular film personalities have to go thru' this kind of crap though, as told by the famous personalities themselves.
Rajesh: Why did you say Gabbar's wife? LOL!
Rajesh: Do you know what is this concept of "Baazargiri" in the film industry? Maybe you know it through the Milkywave.
Hi Hasela,
What is this Baazargiri?
Lots of Love
Rajesh Sharma
hi Rajesh,
I think you didn't wear your spects today!! You missed the t and you thought she was roasting the bees. You're so concerned about the bees.
I thought you would know more than me about this. Anyway, baazar means market. The whole world is like one big market, you know those big shopping plazas in US, mmm like that. In the market you've sub markets and sub submarkets.
Then this media and film industry, they do all this type of baazargiri. Publicity as they call it. You heard of Shilpa shetty, haven't you? She has made millions in less than a yr, which is more than all she did in her span of decade of acting. Do a stunt and capitalize on that...Bazaargiri. Once these personalities get into that rut, they do such things of bazaargiri. They will never do it silently, they will make big news of it. The underlying reason for doing such things is often far far off from the reason they give. It is pretty dirty.
This is the reason why a lot of senior generation of film personalities dissuaded their younger ones from getting into this fraternity. It is cutthroat and quite dirty.
Hi Hasela,
What exactly is it that your trying to say? & what relevance does it have to Suchitra's post?
I think you have missed the point completely -why dont we all stick to the topic of the post and avoid unneccessary malicious gossip?
I and Rajesh are having a conversation, which is most certainly related to the topic, it is just that like a stream it keeps changing direction but ultimately lands into the Sea. LOL!!
