HQR: HH Master Kirpal -- Humility

DK Matai - March 23, 2007

In regard to the Holistic Quantum Relativity Socratic Dialogue, the excerpt of His Holiness Master Kirpal's talk on "Humility" is worth noting.

Humility

I have been mostly dwelling on rising above body consciousness, to be reborn and to learn to die while alive, etc, so as to enable one to enter the Kingdom of God, which is within us — as prescribed by all the past Masters now come to us through His Benign Grace. There are many aspects of His Divine Life, but I will now dwell on the two most important ones viz, humility and simplicity — the most needed at this hour, which if followed will set our lives in the right direction and enable us to achieve perfection.

All Masters, such as Jesus, Mahavira, Buddha, Kabir and Nanak, etc., of the past, and Ramakrishna, Hazur Baba Sawan Singh, Sadhu Vaswani, etc., of recent days, radiated this divine luster from their personalities.

Man knows so many things, but he does not know himself. A man has so many sheaths in himself, covering the depths of his heart. Man learns and unlearns all through life. It is wiser to remain a student than to be a teacher; a student of the Mystery of Life.

A parable goes to say that a seeker of God, in the quest of Heaven, wandering here and there, found himself perchance at the Gate of Heaven. The gatekeeper asked him, "Who are you?" The seeker answered, "A teacher." The gatekeeper asked him to wait, and went in to report. After a while he returned and said that he could not let him in, as there was no place for teachers in the heaven-world. He was told to go back and wash the dust of dead words clinging to him in the waters of Silence.

So many teachers are vain; they parade their learning. How can there be a place in there for him who lives in a world of vanity?

Every day he sat in the silence and listened to the words of Saints, and his self-consciousness began to develop, and he became humble, and prayed to be the servant of all men, lonely and lowly ones, and animals — a servant of God's creation. Then the portals of Heaven were opened and he entered in and beheld the Master's face: pure and fair beyond compare.

All the Masters of the past and the present say that, "The Kingdom of God is for the humble of heart." So many of us, alas, are proud, vain in ego lost; and blind to the wisdom, we do but wander from darkness to darkness.

The God that rules millions is the ego; enthrone on your heart the God of Love, and cease to wander — and what should be done to do so? Become humble as ashes and dust.

The world is full of the proud of purse or power or learning. Whereas, we should be humble and simple and empty ourselves of all "self" that the Lord might do with us what He would.

The life worth living is life in the Spirit. Its basis is humility. We should be reduced to a cipher and God becomes ax. "Let us be perfect as our Father is in Heaven."

The truly humble are the truly happy. For want of humility, men and women are leading an unbearable, miserable life. All this misery is from within it is not a change in our circumstances, but deliverance from the thralldom of the self, the petty "ego" that sits tyrant, robbing us of the bliss that is our heritage as children of God. We are, as it were, in a cage of self-centeredness, and until this prison is opened by the key of humility, the swan bird of the Soul is not free and cannot swim to the regions of radiance and joy.

The way to true blessedness is the way of humility and love. He who is humble has no problems. He has God as his Guide. Significant are the words of the shepherd boy singing in John Bunyan's Pilgrim's Progress:

He that is down need fear no fall,
He that is low, no pride;
He that is humble ever shall
Have God to be his guide.
I am content with what I have,
Little be it, or much;
And Lord, contentment still I crave,
Because Thou sayest such.

Rightly has it been said that if there were no humility in this world, everyone would long ago have committed suicide.

When the light of humility dawns on the soul, the darkness of selfishness disappears and the soul no longer lives for itself, but for God. The soul loses itself in God, lives in God, and is transformed into Him. This is the alchemy of humility. It transforms the lowest into the Highest. The great Chinese sage, Lao Tse, expressed the thought in beautiful words:

How does the sea become the king of all rivers and streams?
Because it lies lower than them.

St Augustine said the way to God is, "First humility, second humility and third humility." He who is proud of possessions or of learning or of authority will not go to any Saint unless he is humble. Even if he goes to the Saint, but considers himself superior to Him, he will not listen to Him. A glass which is kept above a tumbler of water will remain empty — until it is put below the tumbler. You know what you know; just listen to what the other says. Perhaps we can learn something from him.

Yes, the branches of a fruit-laden tree bend of their own accord. Even so, the man who, losing himself, finds God — finds Him everywhere and in everyone — bends before all, offers homage of his heart to all. This is true humility. It is not a forced sense of lowliness. Such a one lives in unity with all. He is in others and others are in him.

It is the fake ego-self that gives rise to the sense of discord and separation. When the illusion of ego is broken, one feels, "I am not apart from others, but others are parts of the One — God — The Master — and all of us are engaged in the same service of God."

Each one of us is unique in his own way. There is a divine purpose behind the life of everyone who comes into the world; no one has been created for nothing. We have something to learn from everyone. This is the mystery of humility.

The truly humble person does not compare himself with others. He knows that none of us, however evolved, is perfect; none of us is complete in himself. The humble person does not regard one as better than the other; he believes in the divinity of each. If one says and asserts that he is better than others, then he is not perfect as yet.

It is only when one realizes his nothingness that God comes and fills him with Himself. Where man is, God is not; where man is not, God is! God cannot enter the heart of the self-seeking person. He who is full of himself considers himself as above others and so puts a limit on himself. God is without limit. How can the limitless enter the limited?

O ye who seek God: See that you do not set yourself above others. Give up all that you are and all that you have, empty yourself of all "self," cast the ego out, and you stand face to face with God. Wondrous are the words of the Sufi Saint, Abur Hassan:

Brothers! This is the Law:
He who cometh nigh to God
Loseth what he hath,
Aye, he loseth himself,
But gains instead the Gift Supreme,
The gift of humility.

A man may strive to be humble, but for all his efforts, may become all the more proud. There is such a thing as the pride of humility; it is a very dangerous thing, for it is too subtle to be discerned by the inexperienced. There are some who will take great pains to be humble; they make humility impossible. How can a man be humble who is all the time thinking of how best he can be humble?

Such a man is all the time occupied with himself, but true humility is freedom from all consciousness of self, which includes freedom from the consciousness of humility. The truly humble man never knows that he is humble.

The truly humble man accepts everything as coming from the hands of God. He knows that in him there is nothing praiseworthy. All the good that is in him is from God, and the praise that men give him belongs to God. When the young man called Jesus "Good Teacher," Jesus quietly said, "Why call me good? There is none good but God."

"Humility," says Lacordaire, "does not consist in hiding our talents and virtues, in thinking ourselves worse and more ordinary than we are, but in possessing a clear knowledge of all that is lacking in us, and not exalting ourselves for that which we have, seeing that God has freely given it us, and with all His gifts, we are still infinitely of little importance." So the truly humble man may accept sometimes the praise which men give him, and quietly passes it on to God, keeping nothing for himself.

The man who is not truly humble behaves in a very unnatural manner when he is not praised by men. He becomes upset, loses his patience and even becomes angry. He repulses them with his irritation and creates for them an awkward situation. Sometimes he suppresses his feelings and remains silent; but he cannot forget the things that are said about him; they haunt him again and again and do not give him peace of mind.

The humble man makes no fuss. He is at harmony with himself and others. He is gifted with a wondrous feeling of peace. He feels safe and secure, like a ship in harbour, unaffected by howling storms and lashing waves. He has found refuge at the Lotus Feet of the Lord and the storms of changing circumstances have no power over him. He feels light as air. The burdens which we carry all our life — the burden of the self and its desires — he has laid aside, and he is ever calm and serene. Having given up everything, he has nothing to lose, and yet everything belongs to him, for he is of God, and God is in him. Having broken the bondage of desire, he is as happy with a piece of dry bread as with a sumptuous meal. In every situation and circumstance of life, he blesses the Name of God.

He who would be humble regards himself as a student. He learns many new things, but what is more difficult, he unlearns many things he has learned. A scholar came to a Saint and said, "O Seer of the Secret, tell me what I may do to live the life divine." And the Saint said to him, "Go, unlearn what thou hast learnt and then return and sit before me."

He who would walk the way of humility must renounce his earlier ways of living. He must give up the opinions he has formed, the standards to which he is accustomed. He must have a new outlook on life. The things the world would worship are to him of no value. His values are so different from those of other men. Rich food, fine houses, costly dresses, positions of power and authority, the applause of men, honours and titles, no longer attract him. He feels drawn to a life of simplicity. He is happy in living a hidden life in the Hidden Lord.

He is dead to the world; he is alive in God. At times he actually behaves like one dead.

Yes, the truly humble man is, in that sense, the "dead" man. He has "died." God alone lives in him. His self has been annihilated. His self has vanished into God, and only God remains. God works in him and through him, and God emits in his eyes. God speaks in his words. On his feet, God walks the earth; and through his hands gives His benedictions to all.

Such men are the real strength of the world — its illumination and inspiration. To see them is to commune with God, for God dwells in them. They are the living, moving Temples of the Lord. They are the ones who keep the world intact, though they do not know it themselves. The whole earth depends on them without anyone being aware of it. Their hearts and minds are in tune with the Great Heart and Mind of humanity. They are in complete accord with all that lives. They give their love to all living beings, as though they were the sons of the one sweet Mother. They have broken all fetters and entered into the freedom of the children of God. God does their will, because they have merged their wills in His. God fulfills their least desire, for it is He Who desires all their desires. They are the little saviours of humanity.

I wish each one of you to follow the lesson of humility, born of love and simplicity.

KirpalPainting.jpg
His Holiness Master Kirpal (1894-1974)

Born on 6th February 1894 in Sayyad Kasran, British India, His Holiness Master Kirpal Singh was confronted with nationalism, religious intolerance, and bigotry since His early youth. In view of the suffering humanity He deeply thought about the nature of man and sought for a solution to the permanent discord leading to violent conflicts. After a profound study of the basic scriptures of the Christians, Moslems, Buddhists, Sikhs, Hindus, Jews, Zoroastrians etc, He found that they all give out the same basic truth and speak about the birthright of man to attain self-knowledge and God-knowledge. Due to His universal view He could create mutual understanding among the different religions. During fourteen years He was repeatedly elected President of the World Fellowship of Religions which came into being in 1957. He left his physical body on 21st August 1974.

Books written by His Holiness include: The Crown of Life - a comparative study of Yogas and Surat Shabd Yoga; Godman - the mission, nature and need of a spiritual Master; The Jap Ji: The Message of Guru Nanak; Morning Talks - a series of short informal talks giving practical advice on the general subject of spirituality; The Mystery of Death; Naam or Word - an in depth study of the Celestial Sound Current or God into Expression Power called variously: Naam, Word, Music of the Spheres, Shabd, etc; The Night is a Jungle - a collection of 14 public discourses on spirituality; PRAYER: Its Nature and Technique; SPIRITUALITY: What it is - an exploration of the Science of Spirituality; The Way of the Saints: SANT MAT - collected short writings, booklets, circular letters, and seasonal messages; and The Wheel of Life - about Karma, "As you sow, so shall you reap."

On three world tours in 1955, 1963, and 1972 His Holiness visited major cities in the Western world, where He met religious leaders -- including the Pope, politicians, and personalities of the society. Everywhere He conveyed the importance of self-knowledge and God-knowledge and emphasized the need of selfless service. His efforts to create understanding from man to man, for peace in the world and for tolerance among the religions have been recognized by many honours. His efforts reached a summit when He convened the first World Conference on Unity of Man, which took place in New Delhi, India, from 3rd to 6th February 1974. Religious, political, and social leaders from all over India, and delegates from approximately 18 countries participated in the conference. This World Conference was the beginning of the Unity of Man movement. As a result of the conference He was invited by the Indian Government to address Parliament. When He spoke to the members of the Lok Sabha (Lower House) on 1st August 1974, it was the first time that a spiritual leader was given that honour.

Successors

The successor to His Holiness Master Kirpal Singh (1894-1974) was His Holiness Master Ajaib Singh (1926-1997). His successor is His Holiness Sant Sadhu Ram. Their books, thoughts and analyses are available for download from www.mediaseva.org.

Thank you DK ... for sharing. This was a great piece of material. If only I could learn "Humility," - it is hard to die alive, but it sounds like, once done, there will be no more deaths. I think many of us do partial deaths and it's painful, so we may say, will I did it and it did not work or it hurt like hell - the grave. Personally, I think it's hard to die in the world. It's like one must detach from everything and go to woods or a cave, which I think might make it easier. However, Deepak says we can find God in this world, so there must be a better and easier way to detach. I heard yesterday within the Wind, "Let go of everything." Yep, that's going to be hard to do … in this life time :- )

Anyway, thanks again.

Love, Char

Dear DK:

GREAT POST!!!

Humility is the foundation of the Holistic Relativity model that seamlessly integrates science (quantum mechanics, relativity, and Newtonian dynamics) and spirituality, the essence of the wisdom of the spiritual masters.

Humility represents the fundamental property, the Truth, of the universe that governs the behavior of the smallest, small, medium, large, and the largest entities in the universe.

Humility is synonymous with consciousness, love, oneness, eternity, and omnipresence.

Humility is neither a force nor an evolutionary phenomenon but a state of egoless and timeless being. It is not, howsoever often mistaken as, politeness that is an acquired behavior or code of conduct.

Humility is a relativistic and not a quantum phenomenon. Below is an extract from one of my papers describing the one to one correlation between humility and the physical world phenomena that have been modeled in the Holistic Relativity formulations:

“RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUMILITY AND PHYSICS

Avtar Singh

As defined above, the central moral feature of humility or kenosis is self-emptying and giving up of one’s own wishes on behalf of others. In the thesis presented in this paper, we translate the “self-emptying” property of a person to the “self-induced or spontaneous decay of the mass of material body to energy.” Just as the self-emptying of a person leads to sacrificing his/her ego in the form of wishes or desires, the spontaneous conversion to energy dissolves the well-defined identity of a material body in the form of the constrained boundaries and specific physical properties of its mass (for example its inertia and weight) in space and time.

Furthermore, just as humility, kenosis, or self-emptying is accomplished in the spirit of altruism or helping others, the spontaneous conversion of mass to energy helps fuel the kinetic energy or motion to the remaining unconverted masses in the universe. In the absence of such a kenotic or spontaneous generation of kinetic energy, the remaining masses in the universe would collapse under the pull of gravitational forces (evil). In this sense, the implied self-sacrifice of the decaying mass is what provides life or existence to the universe in form of the so-called dark energy of modern cosmology that fuels the observed acceleration (life) of the universe.”

Love

Avtar

I am the scum of the earth, full of worms and holes.

Water goes right through me, sunlight penetrates not my outer layer.

Maggots make their homes around me, slime oozes over and above me.

In darkness I abide. In privacy, I am sustained.

My release is not forthcoming, I am buried deep under a bog.

.

What want have I to see the sky or need I wish it away?

To stay unknown beneath the throne, the curse He put in play.

A greater silence, more still than still...

My contentment, His love. My peace, His Will.

Low-life scumbag...the bitter pill.

Your duty? You only have time to kill.

Kill some time before it kills you!

.

To clarify, I meant 'time' to kill,

not...time to 'kill'. Say it out loud..."KILL".

"Kill, Kill, Kill!" Sounds funny coming out of your mouth, doesn't it?

If you don't think it's stupid to kill,

keep on saying it over and over until it sounds ridiculous.

"Kill, kill, kill!" See? It's working already.

Now say "HUMBLE"...I dare you. Over and over...

I can't do it. Starts to sound like "humbla".

.

I'm sorry. It's Friday, folks. You know what that means.

Whatever...

This is a very beautiful and inspirational post on humility. Thank you very kindly!

I do not wish to kill.

Any person, killed in mine or my country's name,I HUMBLY ask your forgiveness.

LOL, just switch off your ego and switch on your humility. That simple! If you don't know how to do it just ask our friend Avtar singh! (He will give you a formula for spontaneous decay.) Making planet earth a heaven is only a switch away if only the world will listen to him!!

As for Harb, he will rather be forced to be humble by the grand evolutionary scheme of things of the universe than be humble HIMSELF, for otherwise, who knows this may feed his ego even more, thus taking him further away from real humility.

Harb - who was actually forced to decay some 18 years ago and who since then does not even know who is it in him who is to be humble.

Dear Char

We recently had some initiates of HH Master Kirpal over in London and when I was telling them about HQR's Socratic Dialogue they spoke about the "Humility" speech by His Holiness. My wife, Surinda, found it and I am glad you liked it.

Dear Avtar

How are you? Your definition on humility from a Scientific side ought to be integrated in with HH Master Kirpal's for the HQR Glossary. Perhaps you could attempt that, beginning with Master Kirpal's definition extracted from his talk.

Here is the way I look at the HQR project, and then again, what you all know is so much more:

1. Mind, Body and Spirit -- The trinity representing the entire creation.

2. Mind is like a Quantum Computer and has to be explained in Quantum Mechanics terms. The consciousness of the mind has to be equated with the universal consciousness and NOT the Supra-universal consciousness. It is the mind which generates ego, and it is ego which generates incorrect understanding. Lack of correct understanding leads to fear. Fear leads to anger and anger leads to hate. Hate leads to a form of evil. Lust, Anger, Greed, Attachment and Ego are all products of the mind and the evil mix in the good and purity of the spirit.

3. Body and Mind together are a product of Maya or Matter and have to be explained in terms of the Four Forces of entanglement or entrapment -- Gravity, Electromagnetism, Strong and Weak Forces at the body level and Attraction, Emotions, Rationality and Wisdom at the mind level. These are the four elements of the Greeks from the time of Socrates. Evolutionary thinking and cycles in this context are worth noting.

4. Spirit is the Pure, the Sublime and a component of The Supra Universal Consciousness. Spirit has no Ego so it is Absolute Humility. It is the Fifth Element of Freedom and Liberation trapped in the I-hood of Mind and Body. The Fifth Element is all about the Fifth Force of Love which underlies all forces.

I would modify your thoughts as follows, if I may:

"Humility represents the fundamental property, the Truth, of the universe that UNDERLIES the behaviour of the smallest, small, medium, large, and the largest entities in the universe and supra-universe."

"Humility is synonymous with SUPRA-UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS OR THE Consciousness, love, oneness, eternity, and omnipresence."

"Humility is STRICTLY neither a force nor an evolutionary phenomenon but a state of egoless and timeless being. It is not, howsoever often mistaken as, politeness that is an acquired behavior or code of conduct. HUMILITY IS PURE LOVE, THE FIFTH ELEMENT OR UNDERLYING FORCE MANIFEST."

"Humility is a relativistic and not a quantum phenomenon. [AGREED in so much that Humility is in "Herr Gott wuerfelt nicht", or "God does not throw dice" of Albert Einstein's thought. We don't do it, God does it and that too perfectly.]"

"As defined above, the central moral feature of humility or kenosis is self-emptying and giving up of one’s own wishes on behalf of others. In the thesis presented in this paper, we translate the “self-emptying” property of a person to the “self-induced or spontaneous decay of the mass of material body [MAYA] to PURE energy.” Just as the self-emptying of a person leads to sacrificing his/her ego in the form of wishes or desires, the spontaneous conversion to energy dissolves the well-defined identity of a material body in the form of the constrained boundaries and specific physical properties of its mass (for example its inertia and weight) in space and time.

Furthermore, just as humility, kenosis, or self-emptying is accomplished in the spirit of altruism or helping others, the spontaneous conversion of mass to energy helps fuel the kinetic energy or motion to the remaining unconverted masses in the universe. In the absence of such a kenotic or spontaneous generation of kinetic energy, the remaining masses in the universe would collapse under the pull of gravitational forces (ATTRACTION WITHOUT PURITY CAN BE A SOURCE OF EVIL). In this sense, the implied self-sacrifice of the decaying mass is what provides life or existence to the universe in form of the so-called dark energy of modern cosmology that fuels the observed acceleration (life) of the universe.”

SO IS DARK ENERGY THE UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS? IF SO THAT MAKES SENSE. HOWEVER, THE DARK ENERGY IS NOT THE SUPRA-UNIVERSAL CONSCIOUSNESS WHICH IS BEYOND UNIVERSE.

ALL THIS IS DISCUSSED IN THE EARLIER HQR SOCRATIC DIALOGUES.

Dear Keith and Viola

Thanks for your input.

Dear Harb

What you say agrees with the view of The Great Spiritual Masters who say that we cannot acquire humility no matter how much we wish it. It is the Grace of the Supra-Universal Consciousness to bestow it to us in an evolutionary way step-by-step should The Beneficience wish to make us so!

Elimination of desires by asking for a merger with the Supra-Universal Consciousness is a path to humility espoused by the Great Spiritual Masters.

And that is why the Great Spiritual Masters state:

"Tud bin hor kuch mangya te sir dukhan de dukh,
Dayo Naam Santokhiye te utre Man di Bhukh!"

In wishing for something other than You, O Lord,
I have sought one sadness after the other.

Grant me connectivity with the "Word", "Vibration" or "Supra-Universal-Creator/Consciousness" so that the desires of the mind are forever fulfilled!

There is a beautiful Sonnet of Shakespeare that captures the same point:

XXIX -- 29

When in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes
I all alone beweep my outcast state,
And trouble deaf heaven with my bootless cries,
And look upon myself, and curse my fate,

Wishing me like to one more rich in hope,
Featured like him, like him with friends possessed,
Desiring this man's art, and that man's scope,
With what I most enjoy contented least;

Yet in these thoughts my self almost despising,
Haply I think on thee, and then my state,
Like to the lark at break of day arising
From sullen earth, sings hymns at heaven's gate;

For thy sweet love remembered such wealth brings
That then I scorn to change my state with kings.

All of you know so much more and please accept our humble apologies for all errors and omissions.

With love and warm wishes

D.K. and Avtar,

On the one hand, you seem to be saying that one is

born with a certain degree of humility. You imply

that it is a grace born either of God's wishes

or the result of evolutionary forces. But humility is not a force.

So forces create the form substantial, which is

not a force in and of itself.

God induces the non-force of humility into one at birth,

and one can neither increase nor decrease the

degree hereafter of one's own accord with self-will.

Spontaneous decay is not caused by our self-will.

Yet you say on the other hand, that one can 'self-induce'

decay of mass(body) and transform it to energy,

thereby giving free energy to whatever mass is leftover.

.

Emptiness or non-existence can also be seen as

lowering one's base vibration or having evolution lower it for you.

If one can reach a certain level by self-inducing

the process, certainly one's own will cannot once

again fill itself up or induce a higher vibration

just because that is what is preferable.

We have traveled far from the root word of humility...humus.

Humility cannot exist on it's own, just as

the clay cannot self-induce the breathe of life.

My little mind only wishes to dissolve so Great Mind

can take over and drive whatever remaining

free-will or mass that I possess.

While in all actuality, there is only One Mind

in HQR and that is the Mind Of God.

Since "I am" God, I can self-induce my Will

therefore "I am" free, although I myself have no free-will.

And I am free to go. Bye! Keith~

Dear Keith

Your query in #9 is relevant and thank you for the same. HQR has inherent complexity and simplicity. Let us try again based on the words and teachings of The Great Spiritual Masters. Apologies for errors and omissions.

"On the one hand, you seem to be saying that one is born with a certain degree of humility."

1. Yes, the spirit is 100% humble being a part of absolute humility, absolute love, or supra-universal consciousness. However, the individualised soul is only partially humble owing to past lives interactions. It is carrying baggage which is why it has some past lives memories and identity as well as a karmic give and take which determines where it is manifest in physical form.

2. When we are newly born, the mind has not yet learnt the total concept of identity so it demonstrates a high level of humility too.

"You imply that it is a grace born either of God's wishes or the result of evolutionary forces. But humility is not a force."

1. God's wish, the wish of the Supra-Universal Consciousness (at the Pure Spirit level), Universal Consciousness (at the level of the Mind and Soul) and Individual Consciousness (at the level of the Physical and Astral Body)

2. The four forces of the physical, astral and causal domains are gravity, electromagnetism, strong and weak forces. The fifth force underlies all and yet is not a force like the others. It is the Supra-Universal Consciousness, absolute love, humility, the spirit -- all of those concepts which are supra- to the universal consciousness, which is manifest at the individual level as the soul and the mind.

"So forces create the form substantial, which is not a force in and of itself."

So four forces create the form substantial with the underlying fifth force, which is not a force in and of itself because it is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent.

"God induces the non-force of humility into one at birth, and one can neither increase nor decrease the degree hereafter of one's own accord with self-will."

Yes, that is the spirit. However, the nature of the spirit is masked by iterations of previous births giving it individuality as the soul and the mind. Individuality promotes duality and does not see the One-in-All and the All-in-One. Efforts to do so are a journey towards the absolute humility already present at the level of the spirit via the fifth element of seeking freedom and eternity.

"Spontaneous decay is not caused by our self-will."

Yes, spontaneous decay, is the action of the fifth force.

"Yet you say on the other hand, that one can 'self-induce' decay of mass(body) and transform it to energy, thereby giving free energy to whatever mass is leftover."

Self is another way of saying the Supra-Univeral Consciousness. Please read the Glossary. "self" is the "I" which takes us away from the "Self."

"Emptiness or non-existence can also be seen as lowering one's base vibration or having evolution lower it for you."

Emptiness or non-existence if it is based on the annihilation of the "I" is the raising of one's base vibration in synchronicity with that of the Source or the Self.

"If one can reach a certain level by self-inducing the process, certainly one's own will cannot once again fill itself up or induce a higher vibration just because that is what is preferable."

Yes, you are right. However, Self-inducing, is really the Grace of the Self or the Source and not the self as in the individual.

"We have traveled far from the root word of humility...humus."

Yes and no. Origin of Humility is from Middle English, from Old French, from Latin "humilis", which means low, lowly, and from "humus", ground.

It is our pervesion that we think the ground is lowly when actually were it not for the ground we would have nowhere to walk, grow our food or indeed have a civilisation.

"Humility cannot exist on it's own, just as the clay cannot self-induce the breath of life."

Humility is the manifestation of the Supra-Universal Consciousness and existed before and will exist after we are all long gone.

"My little mind only wishes to dissolve so Great Mind can take over and drive whatever remaining free-will or mass that I possess."

The Supra-Universal Consciousness is already in the driving seat. Just offer no-resistance and let it be, watching out for synchronicities.

"While in all actuality, there is only One Mind in HQR and that is the Mind Of God."

The One-in-All and the All-in-one is really what HQR is saying in a sentence.

"Since "I am" God, I can self-induce my Will therefore "I am" free, although I myself have no free-will."

In saying so, with absolute humility, you would be right. Then the Self would take over the self.

"And I am free to go. Bye! Keith~"

Yes and no. The One-in-All decided for you that you could go and your mind said, "I am free to go!" The mind takes the credit for all and thereby creates the attachment. If it were to become a witness and step aside, there would be humility manifest.

Apologies for all errors and omissions. The Great Spiritual Masters have explained these phenomena very well and much much better.

Dear DK, Your points in #8's 1 to 4 have said it all.

As for "Humility is a relativistic and not a quantum phenomenon. [AGREED]"

I don't think we can attach any adjectives to Humility.

"Elimination of desires by asking for a merger with the Supra-Universal Consciousness is a path to humility espoused by the Great Spiritual Masters."

Asking for may be good but it may even be better if one simply had patience and faith enough. Supra-Universal Consciousness knows everything, knows what to do and when.

A river (SOT) which began from the mountain top will eventually merge into the sea; and a whirlpool (person with ego)which formed because of surplus of energy at some point in it will eventually merge with the river, irrespective of whether they ask for it or not.

Love and blessings,
Harb

Hello DK! Just wanted to say Hi!

Dear Harb

Re #11:

The way I look at it is that Relativity may help to explain the Supra-Universal Consciousness which is manifest as humility. Your other points are very useful concepts. Thank you.

Hello DK and Everyone,

There have been moments in my life when I have experienced true humility. Moments. Really, in those moments I have wanted to fall to my knees in gratitude. The moment passes, and I let it go, confident it will return, again. I do no try to hang on to it and wear it round my neck like a sign, look at me-I know humility.

Acting humble does not make one humble just as reciting wise words cannot give you wisdom.

True humility is utterly beautiful and I wish I had more of it, but I only have my moments.

have a wonder-full day everyone, ruth

Dear D.K.

Thank you for killing some time on my behalf.

The All-in-One is talking to His Self again.

He did a fine job showing Himself patience and mercy.

He made Keith (who thinks he is still Keith)

go to work this morning because another of His selves,

namely, Keith's boss (who still thinks he is Don),

told him there was over-time available.

Both of them are just going through the motions caused by Him.

What if Keith decided he didn't feel like going to work today?

Well, he couldn't do that either. If the AIO wanted Keith

to stay home, He would have made him nauseous this morning.

That's a good one and usually works.

Keith's soul is now witnessing Keith's body performing

finger movements and his eyes are looking up and down.

Now he is waiting for Me to give him the next line.

What shall I tell his little self to say?

I shall make him feel hungry and help him realize

there's beer in the fridge and munchies in the cabinet.

Now I will tell him to say good-bye. Watch this work.

"Good-bye everybody!" Peace, Keith

(See?)

Dear Heath,

Keith had the feeling you were here being quiet.
Glad to see you are following the bliss AIO dangles
in front of your eyes. Two at once, even!

"Hello! Good-bye!", says little keith.

"Keep in tune with your Self," says OIA.

Dear Keith

You are hillarious and God has a great sense of humour so He is definitely manifest in you big-time!

With love

Dear D.K.

If God gives you this thought,

"We should change Keith's designation from Philosophy/Poetry
to Comedy/Color Commentary",

God's Will will then tell keith that that's okay with him and Him.

Me2...Me1&1/2...Me1...Me1/2...Me All together, NOW! Muchos buenos!

Humility comes when you choose to empty yourself and ask the Holy Spirit to fill you, to permeate every cell and to surrender to God.

Surrender is a process that requires faith and trust in an awesome God that is all wisdom, love and joy. In letting go we find and in faith we act to become more like God by being less like ourselves. May God bless all of you Intent bloggers!

Dear Keith,

When one will understand this "I did it or AIO did it through me thing" perfectly, one will be like a little child, who simply does her thing without thinking who did it.

Or, one will work as naturally as taking breath. One does not think whether he takes breath or breath is taken by AIO through him, though both of these would be true, of course, with later more true.

Harb

Dear DK, #13.

You are right, but just in case you want to have an other spin:

Relativity may explain Supra-Universal Consciousness for those who surrender, who 'see' it 'out there'.

While quantum theory may explain it for those who inquire, who 'see' it 'in here.'

For example, for Nanak who said "dharti hor pareh hor hor" the first may suffice; for Ramana Naharshi who said "where is the world except in your mind" the latter may suffice.

Forget if it doesn't make sense though...

Thanks all of you and apology to all!!!

The Egoless Attitude is the picture of the egoless personality appears to us to be but a zero-personality, with no self-assertion, no ambition, no dynamic living at all. It may only be a life of impotent sleep walking and a generation of such individuals would certainly upset all plans for the so called growth, progress and happy living. This will be the impression that will strike us at the very outset, when we try to grasp and conceive the attitude of the egoless person in the community.

Ego is the sense of “doership” in all actions springing forth from us. This “I-do mentality” asserts our individual responsibility and its people. Unnecessarily, thereafter, the ego comes to carry a heavy load of empty responsibilities!

A river moves on, by its own nature it is moving on. But it you were to sit on a rock and paddle your feet in its water, it is for the sheer joy of it. But to feel and then to assert that your paddling is the cause for the entire river movement is the play of the ego, and the exhaustions, anxiety, strains, etc. to maintain the river are the hollow rewards of your false attitude.

One sitting in a train need not push the train and cry “I am the one who is making the train move”.

The body is the capital city – where the ego has its palace - is fortressed by the physical body, with nine gateways for transactions with the world outside. The mouth, two nostrils, two eyes, two ears, one anus, one genital opening – together nine openings are there in every physical body. They are guarded well, and at night, in sleep, all are closed.

We all owe our today’s so called progress and civilization, science and culture, law and order, inventions and discoveries to this egoless attitude for inspiration with a touch of creativity.

Your all out participation in your studies and sincere discussions with the learned is necessary in order to gather clarity of understanding of egoless state.

The egoless or self realized neither rejoices while meeting what is pleasant nor grieves while meeting what is unpleasant. This state of “no reaction” may appear as a mental life, with neither joy nor sorrow! This state is not a state of dull emptiness, but is a state of “undecaying happiness”.

Rajesh,

My impression at the outset (many years ago) was what you just expressed.

We read about these Masters who have ab-(para)normal abilities.

To some of us the impression we take away from it is,

"They just sit there, back straight, eyes half-shut,
seemingly in a trance, doing nothing quietly."

"He who would save his own soul shall surely lose it."

Does that then mean, He who would save his own soul MUST lose it?

Or does it mean that once the Truth is obtained within oneself,
one should kill no more time in self betterment?

.

To show no emotion whatsoever is murdering a valuable asset
set forth and given birth by the natural forces of evolution.

For those who are deaf, facial expressions are indeed necessary.

In a funeral home or at a wake one should act appropriately.

To share in a families grief is to help them carry their cross.

Cold-hearted, unsympathetic and uncaring attitudes
have no place in such a setting. It could easily hurt
someone's feelings. Someone, that is, who is still afraid of death.
And that would be the majority of the people's attitude.

Same goes for rejoicing in celebration with those
who have attained to their heart's desire.

It would be a bit inhuman to be stand-off-ish
and set oneself apart, acting in a 'who cares?' manner.

Melancholy man, severely depressed, have you forgotten
the idea of living life MORE abundantly?

We almost saying here, that it's okay to obtain more joy,
more peace, more compassion and mercy, more contentment...
but don't you dare show it or express yourself.

I have a major problem with this type of thinking.

Then again, I've never met an egoless person in any state
or Capitol city who has 'undecaying happiness',
who nobody even notices or if they did,
they would hardly care less.

Have you? Anyway, it's good to see you back. Keith~

Dear Keith

So many questions very few answers. Thanks for your explanation. Some times I don't know what I think is what is real. Both in reality and in dreams. I wish I knew answers for everything. Atleast for one question; do I know the answer for This question? I don't know the answer. Your comment is you and I see you talking directly to me. It is so surreal. thank you Keith and thank you Intent blog, DK Sir and Mallika Madam. You are the best mong best among best.

Rajesh,

See what we do? We say, drop the little self wherever you find it.

Find that in you which is impersonal...supra-impersonal.

No pride whatsoever may enter here.
Glory be to God and to Him alone!
All praise belongs to the Lord in the Highest!

Yet consciously or unconsciously we build up each other's egos
with praise and thank you's and, "Oh, my God...good job!"

I can truthfully say I'm not over and above criticism or praise.

I'm all for "Everybody wins!" type of solutions.
No losers whatsover! By the act of giving myself away,
I, too, obtain relief from past transgressions
and un-righteous ways.
If karma cannot be fixed, well...maybe it can be re-versed.

That's my job, the way I see it today.

Humblah, humblah, yada, yada, ho! Yours truly, Me

Meister Harb,

What about the old story versus the newer?

Not a quote...something about, "When I was a child
I thought, looked and acted as a child. Now that I've
become a man, I must put away those childish things."

And we have, "To get through the gates of Heaven,
one must be like unto a little child."

It's like Moses versus Rumi here, don't you think?

I've been around to see many children go through
the 'terrible twos'
and I don't think we imply acting like unto toddlers.

So when we say 'little child', just how little are we talking about?

Oh, yes...When the Knights of The Round Table went
of in search of He who would save the Throne they
were led to a certain house. Perhaps, as the story goes,
they were wrong in choosing the future betrayer, Lancelot.

Why? Because also in the house, lying in a manger,
was a babe named Percival, who would later in life
chase The Holy Grail instead of finding it within
himself, thereby claiming the throne via the Temple.

Anyways Harb, that story came to mind but I may have told it wrongly.
Please excuse all omissions and errors.(well?)

Just attempting to make a point and get some clarification.

Hoping you catch my drift, Me

Dear Keith

"All praise belongs to the Lord in the Highest!"

Dear DK and all,

Back from holiday my first contribution to the Socratic Dialogue on HQR has been to update all the articles posted here as from 11th march up till now, including the Glossary V0.5 on the Alliance for a New Humanity Global Wiki Project:

http://wiki.anhglobal.org/wiki/Holistic_Quantum_Relativity

For everyone´s convenience, you can read all the respective articles one after another with a link to each next article at the bottom of the page and in each article is a link to the glossary. It is also possible to obtain a printer friendly format so that you can print out that what is of interest to you. The link to a printable version of the articles is available at the left of the page.

With love, Mieke

In a Dutch newspaper of yesterday i have read a very interesting article on the calculation of 200 billion parameters, the fomula of the most complicated symmetrical object E8, the mathematical Everest.

I found this very to the point of our HQR dialogue as it is closely connected to the relativity theory, the quantum mechanics, the particle physics and the string theory.

What struck me was the picture of the E8 Root System that is almost a total copy of the One-Thousand-Petal Sahasrara Lotus.

Found this picture also on the Internet at:

http://aimath.org/E8/mcmullen.html

When you scroll down the page it is there in all its glory :)

The presentation of the enormous calculations can be found at:

http://web.mit.edu/newsoffice/2007/e8.html

At the end of the Dutch article a few sentences caught my attention which i would like to translate here:

"And who knows, so was speculated during the presentation, maybe some day it may appear that E8, the group of the largest symmetrical structure of all, forms the basis of a complete description of our Universe".

Welcome back, Mieke!

I do hope you had a great vacation!
All rested up and rarin' to go, I see.

You are such a good worker and marvelous contributor.

I wonder how many pages it would now take to print it all out.

100? 200? Just Curious Me, still hangin'.

Dear Mieke,

That moving picture of E8 is maybe the coolest mandala
I have ever seen! Wowser! I'd love to have a print!

Someone will be flooded with requests asking for permission
to re-publish this glorious, global conglomeration.
I would wish we could borrow it for HQR's presentation.

.

While I was voluntarily transfixed on this sight,
allowing my eyes to receive the light in gratitude,
the colors began to blend, float and trade places.
All except for the eye which stubbornly sustained it's projection.

Red and green were predominate whilst
blue and yellow easily disappeared from vision.
Flashing my eyelids, the flowery figure
danced and I obtained a top-down viewpoint.

Then it would spin like a ballroom gown
and the Queen's head would stay perfectly in place.
Sometimes the center would warp into a vertical eye
and would seem to be sideways from my perspective.

Very, very much worth saving! Thank you!

Hi Keith,

Thank you, had a great holiday with two totally different weather types lol, first week abundant sunshine and 16°C, second week 15 cm snow and 0°C. Both extremes for this time of the year in our surroundings. Both had their charms though and i fully enjoyed them!

Found a new level of living during this holiday: background music.

When i walked in the woods with my little cairn terrier, there was this lovely background music of the birds, wonderful people exchanging views about dogs, holiday cottages, the weather etc.
And watching those crows making their nests despite the snow and all those lovely finches and titmouses in the top of the trees, still able to find food and enjoying the sun :)

Am glad you liked that picture of E8 so much! I fully envision your description :)

Hi Mieke

It is nice you enjoyed your holiday. But I wonder what it has got to do with the discussion in this thread. Wouldn't it be nice if we keep private conversations private. Of course I ain't following that either. Or may be the Open Thread? Well, anyway don't be so humble as to give a second thought to my humble comment. At any regard you contributed many a woman hour for the project in Wikipedia pages. Please carry on exchanging your pleasantries. I don't want to be a spoil sport either. LOL

Dear Mieke,
It sounds like a wonderful holiday, and resplendent with nature to keep you company each day :)

Dear Dk quotes Master Kirpal:
"We are, as it were, in a cage of self-centeredness, and until this prison is opened by the key of humility, the swan bird of the Soul is not free and cannot swim to the regions of radiance and joy."

Radiance and joy is what comes through in your post Mieke. Thank you so much for sharing.

"Each one of us is unique in his own way. There is a divine purpose behind the life of everyone who comes into the world; no one has been created for nothing. We have something to learn from everyone. This is the mystery..."
