Piece to Peace

Suchitra Krishnamoorthi - May 08, 2007

There’s so much in her , wanting to come out
But she suppressed it all , filled with self doubt
It didn’t help that she had no help,
It didn’t help that she didn’t believe in herself.

She was churning inside, a cauldron of fire,
Filled with longing, filled with desire
Too afraid to speak, scared of being put down,
Hidden behind her sacred veil of redbrown

She tried to talk before, but got tongue tied,
She wanted to speak the truth, but then she lied,
Through her innocence and misplaced loyalty
She surrendered herself and her dignity

They then called her crazy, but she let it pass
She waited in silence while they had their laughs
She knew no better, coz she had been told
The dust from the mud can never turn to gold.

She lost her way in the ways of the world
and meandering in the maze she found her soul
But all that now is a thing of the past
This flag is flying no more at half mast.

With the grace and beauty that resides in every girl
She steps out now as a woman of the world
She knows in her heart and so it can be told
That yellow and ochre are but shades of gold.

"...yellow and ochre are but shades of gold..."
Awesome! True...Different shades and Different colors but Colours of life neverthless...Till date I thought the word "breathtaking" applies to only stuff we visually see...but today these words are just "breathtaking"...

"...yellow and ochre are but shades of gold".

So many colors and shades in life... so many variations of colors to choose from......and no two colors are alike....Of course the greys and blacks too are a part of the color palete but what the heck!! Even Autumn which is bleak and barren has its own share of reds and greens besides the browns!
