Mallika Chopra - June 01, 2007
People who talk on their cell phones while driving (even though I am guilty of doing so).
Salespeople who are really slow, incompetent or unhelpful.
Warrantees that are a pain to deal with. (Remember Sears Sucks.)
Waiting forever to get through to an operator.
Spam mail, Spammers.
There are many more, but I got to run! Dealt with all these this morning!!
What annoys you?

wet bathroom floors,smelly people,sensationalism(journalism) in india,liars,the over flowing drains during the monsoon,uncivilised people,arrogance,self proclaimed gurus,tardiness,disrespectful people,politicians,bullies,creepy crawlies.
thats all i could come up at 2.45am..maybe some more later....
My most recent annoyance was being treated like I was a terrorist at the airport. I haven't flown in awhile and had forgotten what a pain all that can be. It was a good experiment, though, in keeping a smile on my face and being kind to everyone(at least I tried to be!) in spite of it all.
People driving and smoking who hold the lit cigarette out the window. "Hey, world, it's okay for you and my lungs but not the interior of my car."
People who flick the butt out the car window when done. I have actually returned several to car owners at stop lights. "here, you dropped this."
I don't mind smoking. I smoke cigars sometimes. But people who smoke and think the world is their ashtray make me furious.
I also hate it when someone sits on the toilet in a public bathroom and talks on the cell phone. I was in the stall and I thought the guy was talking to me. He said, "What are you doing?" And I said, "the same thing as you." And then it got really quiet.
Hi Mallika, and everyone,
These are some of the things that still annoy me:
People you thought were friends, stabbing you in the back.
Wives or husbands, who speak badly about their spouses in public.
People who try to cheat in a golf game, or tournament.
Crazy drivers with big trucks or buses, (The little crazy people, I can easily run off the road).
Most government agencies especially the 3rd and 4th level power hungry managers you have to sort out your problems with.
Science freaks, who think that science knows and explains everything.
All lazy workers, and most Lawyers.
I do expect to have a great Day in spite of these types of vexations
Kind Regards
Stan
Spiritual freaks and Science freaks who make ignorant comments on science.
Complainers.
Ha ha, just sort of kidding because I do get upset with situations also like you describe, especially at banks or town offices or other clerical jobs where you are wondering 'What is so hard! I know computers, I know what I want or need, let me do it!'
But people who complain constantly and there-by give complaining a bad name, they bug me, especially when they think just because you are not contradicting them and just being polite by listening to them that you automatically agree and therefor are complaining too, when you are not, and in fact were having a wonderful day until they came by to whine about something.
That bugs me.
The only thing that can annoy me is me. It's funny beyond measure...
Sometimes I need to slow down to notice that it's me :)
You're so good at Self realization aurora in your#8. It is thru' Introspection, we can easily find the areas which trouble us, once we are at peace, then generally it stays well. :-))
Hey bonnie,
Bet that was before your invention of the ladida collection. Now that your this hot shot designer/inventor i bet u have your own jet..
Bloated, wealthy idiots complaining about the "help". It will be a great day when the "help" wakes up and kicks their sorry asses.
Politicians talking about "moral values". It'll be a great day when the people wake up and...(you know the rest)!
People who do EVERYTHING while on the cellphone. Sometimes I wonder if some folks talk on their cell phones when they are having sex, because they are on it all the rest of the time. Probably their friends like the background noises...
People who only shower a couple of times a week, and right up there are people who don't shower after they work out or exercise.
Buying gas. I HATE buying gas because all I see is the wasted lives and dollars that go into our addiction to the stuff.
Bad municipal planning. Like completely unnecessary traffic congestion because no one planned to BUILD ENOUGH ROADS for all their yuppie housing developments.
Oh, did I mention yuppies...?
I'm sure there's more....
Sorry I can't add much to this one. I have learned not to let anything annoy me (for more than a few seconds anyway) - I'm sure some people find it annoying that I don't get annoyed! Incidentally, I liked the one about "smelly people" - I remember once subtlely asking an employee to "invest in an anti-perspirant."
Happy smells....

Hello Mallika and Everyone,
Cell phones..in the library and people's cell phones go off and they start talking..waiting in line and people's cell phone goes off..you have to hear their private conversations as if you wanted to..it is like being kidnapped into someone's living room..and there you sit..helplessly until they hang up...really, the cell phone is like the ultimate....hey..look at me!!..listen to me!!!WORLD..don't want to? tough.
I do not have a cell phone. I like it that there are only certain times and cetain places that one can reach me...I am not available every minute of every day..leaving the house..no phone on me..driving in my car...no phone on me...shopping at the supermarket..no phone on me..taking a walk..no phone on me...really, it is lovely..I go home and there it is...the red light blinking..messages..now..I'm available to answer.
have a great day ruth.
Hello Everyone,
just wanted to add that for all the folks who say well I need the cell phone becuase I have children, or becuase of my work or becuase of whatever...that old automobile emergency..sure it is NICE to have the convenience of the cell phone..needed though? really, by only an handfull of folks..
survived more than five decades without one and raised children and worked and had all kinds of EMERGENCIES...and never had a cell phone available..go figure..
I think what I hate about cell phones the most is that they are, to me, the manifestation of the mass consciousness need to indulge our infantile neediness to be "connected" to someone, everyone, at all times...the ultimate pacifier with a hefty service contract....plus it adds to our sense of self importance..our busyness, the more people who need to get in touch with us or we with them the more successful our life is and will be..
ah, I can still remember the days when a phone was just a phone...those were the days...
ruth
Hi SVN
Of course I do!! LOL--I am going to buy my very own space ship next to travel to my own private planet! I am going to call it the Ladida Express!!
(Don't tell anybody, but the planets are the next hot area for real estate development. You have to be way ahead of the curve on these things you know!)
Just think! you can have your very own space ship too with all those royalties arriving in your mailbox daily!!
Blessings with smiles!
On a more sane note, my recent trip was a good experience in reaching a better understanding of the frustrations we all go through and how 'everyone' is doing the very best they can do at any particular moment in any particular situation. Once you understand this, it is not hard to show a little more kindness.
Regarding cell phones. To me a cell phone is nothing more than a tool, just like a hammer or nail-gun is for a carpenter. It makes many tasks so much easier.I keep mine with me but on silent. I personally have no need for it to be a permanent physical appendage coming out of my ear, but if someone does, I can easily tune them out. The last paragraph in #4 was funny though.
Bonnie
Hey bonnie,
am heading to venus soon, last i heard men were from mars n women from venus...so long, farewell.do stop by in ur ladida express shuttle.
cheers
dear ruth,
i would have to agree with you totally.Cell phones may be useful for emergencies by they can be quite the pain. They are noisy and annoying.I also am with you when you say that we were fine before we had them. Also, the worst part about it is it steals ur freedom and they are addictive.
Hi everyone,
I did a little math. Here's some sobering calculations regarding loss of attention while driving.
If you are driving 35 mph, and you become distracted from the road for 5 seconds, you travel 250 feet (that's 83 yards, or over three quarters the length of a soccer field where you don't know what's going on around your vehicle). Figure 50 feet of unawareness for every second of distraction.
If you are driving 50 mph and you become distracted for 5 seconds, you travel 365 feet (think of a full Amrican football field including both end-zones) without knowing the traffic around your vehicle. Figure 73 feet of unawareness for every second of distraction.
It takes less than one second for a pedestrian, another car, or a kid on a bicycle to get in front of your car.
Studies have shown that with a hands free headset, the driver's peripheral field of attention shrinks considerably while they are talking on the phone.
This busts the myth that cellphones are dangerous in cars because they tie up one of your hands.
You can drive with one hand if you have an automatic and you are paying attention. The problem isn't that cellphones tie up your hand.
The problem is that cellphones tie up your attention. To get your attention back from the cellphone you have to stop using it.
I don't get why so many people think it's cool to be in denial of that simple principle.
Especially if you have kids in the car, why is it "cool" to drive the distance of a football field (or more) without knowing the traffic around you?
Ever have someone on a cellphone pull directly infront of you without even seeing you, and see the "Baby On Board" sign in the rear windshield?
Then when you honk at them they wave at you and smile like "it's all good!"
Hello???
Interesting statistics yogi-one. I have never been able to master the art of driving and talking on the cell phone at the same time. Guess I better not even try now huh?
Bonnie
Liars
Blutooth works great! I have often wondered why it bothers folks so, to hear others chatting on there cell phones. It dosnt seem matter so much to have people talking to each other at the next table, whats the big deal, so long as there not yellin and cursing.
The dishes, there bothersome and the mess in the laundry room that is evergrowing!, but it is mine, so I suppose I'm bugged with me... sometimes

Phone menu systems that invariably take you to the wrong department, from which you either:
... get routed back to the phone menu system; or,
... get disconnected; or,
... get put into the support queue you could have already been waiting on for ten minutes if you hand't had to go through the phome menu system.
Liars, especially those who manipulate situations. And since it takes two to tango, those who allow themselves to be manipulated when they should know better.
Those who say one thing and do another.
Those who call themselves nice, sweet and gentle as they display freshly-sharpened teeth.
Those who make accusations against others, then do the same or worse themselves.
Those who gang up on others.
- - - - - - - -
The above annoyances make me appreciate:
Kind, helpful real live people, and the management that decided to hire and pay them, rather than spending money on crazy phone menu systems.
Intelligence of mind and feeling
People who are consistent
People who show their freshly-sharpened teeth without calling themselves nice, sweet or gentle.
Those who are very careful about making accusations, and when they do it, never use another's words in their accusations, but instead speak from their own hearts.
People who refuse to fight, except to self-defend.
love, Heath
Heather. Got it. Your feelings about me (from the other thread) obviously go back further than I knew. Not sure what I did, but it's definitely time for a break for me. You have created a very ugly picture of who you think I am, and it's upsetting to say the least. I have to remember that through a few posts, noone is able to know who I am.
Love, Melissa
Hey Mel..you are guilty of the same by painting an even ugly pictures of Hyp..per se. don't you think? no?
The problem with your kind is that you think you can judge others but how dare anyone judge me ...? I am all goodness...no one has the faintest idea from my words....
"I have to remember that through a few posts, noone is able to know who I am."
But you would know Hyp and Heather to say how far they compare on spiritual paths...how malicious Hypo is!
Take a good look at yourself in the mirror sis.
Once upon a time I was at a seminar where Deepak asked us to write down five things that annoyed us in others. Then, with a smile combining humor and compassion, he asked us to look at the list and realize that those were things we were denying in ourselves.
Carl Jung wrote somewhere: "I'd rather be whole than good". I fully agree :)
Dear Aurora,
is it possible ...
to be whole and
good

Dear Mel
Please don't dramatically project pictures that don't exist.
Here is the picture I saw on Deepak's thread:

In 15 hours and 31 comments between my post and yours, not a single person misinterpreted my words to Hyp.
From the point of your #39, misinterpretations abound.
Your use of my name attached to your own words and interpretations gave validity to thoughts that were not mine, and seemed to give my support to an approach and attitude I have long since learned to to avoid.
Can you wonder at my annoyance? Especially given the respect and care I feel for both Hyp and Ricky? Where's your sensitivity, Mel?
love, Heath
Dear Kate,
yes, whole IS good, but not in the way our judgment wants it. Whole means being at peace with both the good and the bad, seeing through the illusion of both.

Here is my story. Probably none of you care, but I need to VENT!..."

I would like to see that... Mallika mad... :) Must be something terrible to see but yet beautiful.
Do you a have place to think of you, to rest, Malli?
Last night, I was thinking of you. I like to think about your sweetness, your caring, your sensitivity travelling through your blogo-words.
I do not know you, do not know how, I agree, but an essence of you is getting formed inside me. So, it happens that I am thinking of you in the night, when the fuel of your essence is deeply needed inside me. Guess what? I feel an answer from you. I feel better.
I am probably creating all these events but anyway, no, I do not want to firm it as mine.
Since your last book, your mood or something has changed!? I feel you a bit out of your pure-sensitivity, maybe tired, with a lot of preoccupations!?
With all my respect to you and your family, tonight, I will continue my little ritual, to ask for you, to softly meet you in essence and Love.
I just needed to say so, even if it's sound crazy! How far can humans be in the Love, without badly interfering in the historic events? Without attachments, without possessions, focussed deeply in the essence-moment?
Is it ok to say to you that I care for you? A mystical-care but yet powerful and beautiful.

Emotional Technology
--------------------------------
Baba Arsenio is teaching to me, today.
I am thinking; how far am I projecting on the others my emotional states?
All these images "movie-ing" in my mind. Am I seeing the reality? Or am I disguising it in a certain way?
There is something in me so simple and yet complicated to put out. Can I be understood? If not... who's right? So closely-finite here and now in this body-form. A force unknown... a knowledge ignored.
The frustration to not be able to align our high-self with the low-self. This harmonic is definately out of the limited-mental-intelligence power.
But anyway... Mallika is there in the fas-west as Deepak, Baba Arsenio, they are good people and I love them... I do not want to worry anymore about that feeling... asi es.
P.S.: My little Malli-ritual didn't start yesterday. Too much head-spinning. The door was closed.
things that annoy me
a) non-twist off beer bottle caps (especially when the shop guy forgets to mention that specific fact and you are at the beach without a bottle opener)
b) people who make rude eyes at you when you ride a non-harley cruiser.
c) library books with pages missing
d) the word "m'kay"
e) getting stuck with matches on a cold windy day while desperately craving for a smoke (this one is no longer an issue since I quit smoking)
f) cell phone company customer support personnel who when told "my cell phone is not working" ask "are you calling from your cellphone".
My list is as under:
1. Meetings meetings and more meetings to discuss mundane issues
2. People saying sorry when they don't mean it
3. polite talk
4. lies
5. too much TV
6. people giving me advice when I don't need one
7. Hurry ...no time to think

People with dirty teet
"...I am a patient and generally nice
People using cell phones while driving, while shopping, in the library, and anywhere where I am subject to having to listen to conversations I am not interested in. Basically, it is the total lack of concern for anyone in the vicinity of the conversations that annoys me.
Not being able to talk to service representatives and having to go through countless selections on business lines to find the right contact person.
Having to contend with nothing but horror stories on the local and national news networks. They bombard you with crimes and accidents of horrendous proportions and then, with a vacuous smile, tell you to have a nice day.
Being fed the news that the big corporations want you to hear and not having a decent coverage of events which should be addressed by the public, the ones whose lives will be drastically affected by legislation being considered.
The autocratic actions being taken by the people supposedly "in the know". These are the ones who adhere to the principle that "might makes right". It just isn't so!
