Why am I not surprised that NYC and DC are near the top of the list?
Does this include smoking of crack?
I stopped using cocaine during the Reagan years when I realized it was being brought to America under the auspices of the CIA in order to finance the Contra War.
There's no such thing as clean cocaine money.
Cocaine is not like a bunch of organic hippies and Rastafarians trying to save the world with hemp.
Cocaine is nasty business, always conducted by criminals. Murder with automatic weapons is a regular part of the coke trade, and the money goes to paramilitary groups where it gets used for unsavory purposes like ethnic genocide and financing death squads.
You're implicated if you are a user. Drop the glamourpuss Hollywood party ethic and get real about your actions.
New York: The city that never sleeps.
The Big Apple:)
Saira you should check out how many people die from pharmaceutical drugs:) I have a feeling the numbers are higher than street drugs. America’s wealth is from: guns, alcohol and pharmaceutical drugs. You can't die from not sleeping:)
love patty
Patty,
53% of Americans currently have a perscription. I cannot recall the source...but that's a good number.
Saira
PS. Coke keeps one up at night...all night.
Saira, dose the scrip for my contact lens count in the 53% or is that just meds? heheheheh = }
Not sure I want to be up all night tonight, but I will keep it in mind.
I hope your having fun~~~

To readers of this post who have made it this far, here is what you're looking for: http://www.unodc.org/unodc/en/world_drug_report.html
Aloha Saira
Here check out this site: http://www.newstarget.com/008291.html Big Tobacco and Big Pharma: same tactics, different chemicals
Here is part of the article.... And I did check out the site you posted. It is like old style reality.... love patty
Some people will do anything for a paycheck
Another interesting similarity between Big Tobacco and Big Pharma is that both are staffed by people you might consider to be ordinary, everyday people. They might be your neighbors, people that you wouldn't think would be harmful, and who aren't necessarily evil. They're just regular, everyday people trying to succeed in their jobs. Yet, they are part of a machine that is creating tremendous pain and suffering, along with destruction, disease, and distortion in our society.
It makes you wonder, what kind of people would go work for tobacco companies? Who would do that? What kind of person would go work for a pharmaceutical company? Who are these drug reps? I've met a lot of these drug reps. They're everyday, nice people; people you might have as friends. Maybe you are a drug rep because you just needed a job. But I think it's important to note that there's a great tendency for human beings, when they need jobs, to set aside their ethics. They tend to dissociate themselves from the long term effects of what they are doing.
Historically, we saw this of course in Nazi Germany, where people were members of the Nazi party. They were part of a machine that was creating tremendous evil, pain and suffering, and destruction in many different ways. (I'm not talking just about the Holocaust here.)
They were part of this machine, yet they felt the need to succeed in their particular role in that machine. They dissociated themselves from the pain and suffering the machine was ultimately causing. Perhaps they saw themselves as just a cog in a big wheel. Maybe they felt like they just had no other options. I suspect that some of the same psychology is at work today in people who work for pharmaceutical companies, or people who work for tobacco companies.
But this psychological deception is harder to do today, at least when working for tobacco companies. It's hard to lie to yourself and say, "This is a healthy product." You'd have to be living in some alternate universe, where you've seen none of the science about how dangerous cigarette smoke is to human health. In the pharmaceutical industry, however, there are a lot of people who are lying to themselves, and it's easier to lie to yourself saying, "We are searching for the cure for cancer!" or "We're going to solve osteoporosis and we're going to end suffering!" They think they're part of a machine that's going to end suffering. Thus, they think if they succeed in marketing and creating more money and more profits for their company, then fund more research, they can find all these solutions to disease.
Thus, they fall for something I call "The Big Lie," which is the idea that we can solve health problems by creating ever more technologically advanced or complex synthetic chemicals and compounds that, if introduced into the human body, can suddenly reverse all of these diseases which have been created by years and years of abuse through lifestyle, lack of nutrition, exposure to environmental toxins, and so on.
There are no known deaths that have ever occured in the history of mankind from marijuana. Science understands THC to be one of the most benign substances to humans on earth. Laboratory animals tolerate doses of up to 1,000 mg/kg (milligrams per kilogram). This would be like a 70 kg person swallowing 70 grams of the drug -- or about 5,000 times more than is required to get high. There is however, in Britain, an official government statistic listing five deaths from cannabis between 1993-1995...but on closer examination, these deaths were proven to have been due to the inhalation of vomit in all cases.
By contrast, smoking kills 1 in 5 in the United States.
Its quite amazing really, all the information we as humans line up to believe, "red wine is good, no its bad", "take this new pill it will help your arthritis, no what it causes heart problems" lets see what else, we need," flax seed oil, hormone cream ( made from horse urine )little blue pills that make the weiner hard, and the list gos on. Oh and the next time you smoke a big fat dubie, be careful not to choke, if you through up! pretty funny really. I have pretty must followed my own regiment my whole life and it seems to work, so far so good!

I posted the below a here a year ago in response to DK's thread A nation addicted: Cocaine - Britain's deadly habit [CLICK MY NAME FOR THREAD].
So anyway the cure for cocaine addiction.
I came with this 20 years ago for certain distant associates of friends that had an issue. It works.
When one abuses cocaine it causes a rapid depletion of neurotransmitters and all the supporting chemicals used to make them. This can deprive other chemical systems in the body of needed chemicals, which causes all the ill effects. In order to get the original effect more and more cocaine is needed to squeeze the desired results out of the body.
Remember as I have explained before, I discovered the body is very intelligent and is very adept at resource allocation. It will deprive less critical systems of chemicals even shutting them down to support life critical organs and systems (disease).
Now with the normal food consumed it is quite a process to manufacture and replace neurotransmitters. Take into account that most food consumed is damaged (processed) and grown in nutrient poor soil, along with magnesium leaching phosphoric acid in coke and pepsi, or refined carbohydrates (nutrients have been removed) and you have an even bigger problem.
What one can do is facilitate the process by providing the necessary elements in their base functional form. This allows the body to quickly replace the depleted nutrients and manufacture the supply of the main neurotransmitter depleted.
So what you want to take is L-phenylalanine or L-tyrosine with B6 and Vitamin C. The phenylalanine or Tyrosine (500 mg) is quickly converted into norepinephrine using the B6 (100 mg.) and Vitamin C (1 – 3 grams) . Phenylalanine and Tyrosine are essential amino acids. Of course you should also be taking all the B vitamins and E and A just for starters. Eating food grown in nutrient rich soil that has not undergone destructive processing is also a good thing.
There are several other things one can take for even more benefit but we will just keep it simple.
What this will do is reduce the bad effects, eliminate cravings and sensitize one to cocaine, allowing one to, kick the habit, if not promoting it.
It stops the viscous circle of addiction.
Phenylalanine or Tyrosine (500 mg) 1x day (empty stomach)
Vitamin C (1 – 3 grams) 3x day
B6 (100 mg.) 1x day
of course you should also add all the B vitmins to your daily mix, 3 times per day.
Like I have said before we are going to end disease and drug addiction as we know it, in a short number of years. The intelligence and knowledge exist, we are just lacking in public awareness which will/is be forthcoming
Aloha Saira
No one grows up saying, when I grow up I am going to be an addict. The shempa comes in many guises. I have found the real insainty with drugs, is in the people on prescription drugs, they feel justified because their drugs are legal. And I think that is where the deaths tip the scales. Those deaths nobody talks about... well maybe Deepak:)
It is very interesting in working with people with the condition of Alzheimer's, they have no problem with pain because the suffering (the mental of whys of shoulds and coulds) has been removed. They don't use drugs or are given drugs.
It is important to identify, not to compare with addicts. Suffering and desire are from the same root. There is no permanet visia on this planet. It is letting go the desire to be loved (comforted) in a world of unrequited love. We are all users:) We are learning to die consciously by removing time (numbers). Look at your industry.... be gentle and kind to yourself for you are loved beyond measure!
love patty
One of the disturbing things about drug addiction is the profit centers that have been set up around it. The criminal justice system, the drug treatment centers, and those that sell the drugs.
There are to many leeches sucking the life out of society through the creation of criminals.
It is time that that people stood up to special interests in government that support organized crime syndicates through the creation of black markets.
Making drugs illegal with harsh penalties is done on behalf of organized crime and supports other profit centers detrimental to the good of the whole. Anyone working to create black markets is working for (or has been duped into buying into an Illusion) organized crime.
The so called "War on Drugs" is pure ignorance, what we need to address is the root cause. Biochemical deficiency is one of them, as is a lot of the ignorance propagated by the media and leaders. Conflict and stress are also big contributors.
If anyone is interested I can provide the instructions to eliminate the "ecstasy" problem as well. Or if you are smart you would realize that it involves tryptophan or 5-HTP for replacement of serotonin.
Of course these approaches cannot be patented and do not require hospitalization, medical equipment or prescriptions and are not profitable and are not promoted or taught by those seeking profitable yet inefficient approaches.
WANTING TO FEEL GOOD IS NOT A CRIME
Aloha
The gift is knowing the difference between desparation and desire and that happens when the medicine becomes worst than the disease. We have many wants and very few needs. Our needs are always taken care of. Have a beYouteful day, love patty
A WOMENS TOUCH - Now there is the drug of choice.
But with all the sexual and feminine repression man cut off his supply of the divine fix.
Yet, the feminine elixir must come of it's own free will or the drug is toxic.
Got my fix last night doing bachelorette party duty at the club. Phallus symbols everywhere.
I close my eyes and dance
Open them I find myself
Surrounded in a sea of women
The waves of motion carry us together
Tangled as one we become
Undulating we touch and feel
By the way touch releases endorphins and enkephalins.
Enkephalins are 100x more powerful then morphine.
There is the real solution to the world’s drugs problems and violence, the women’s touch.
Unleash her, the Goddess.

What a lovely, beautifully expressed, sentiment coming straight from the heart of a stunningly gorgeous and flamboyant New York woman!
Respectable post, Yogi-one. I like what you had to say.
Everyone I've known who has done that drug has wound up with a black eye sooner or later...I mean a real shiner.
I wonder what that's about?
Hello Saira,
Mohan incense! I just stopped at a gas station and as I was paying lo and behold there was Mohan incense from India. Some distant family connection perhaps. I just perceived the whole incident (incense) to be divinely synchronistic!

Here are The Promises for any addict:) no longer is addiction equated to just cocaine or alcohol:) Believing you were born and having a name has to be the number one addiction.
THE PROMISES
FROM THE AA BIG BOOK
We are going to know a new freedom and a new happiness.
We will not regret the past nor wish to shut the door on it.
We will comprehend the word serenity.
And we will know peace.
No matter how far down the scale we have gone,
we will see how our experience can benefit others.
That feeling of uselessness and self-pity will disappear.
We will lose interest in selfish things and gain insight in our fellows.
Self-seeking will slip away.
Our whole attitude and outlook will change.
Fear of people and economic insecurity will leave us.
We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us.
We will suddenly realize that God is doing for us
what we could not do for ourselves.
