"What would you do to change the world, if you were not afraid?"
I'll Transform Capitalism to end poverty, war, injustice and social-mental dysfunctions of all kinds
I'd Inspire and engage others to be part of a big bold solution to myriad systemic problems at macro and microlevel generated by the many unexamined blindspots of Capitalism, which includes issueing money as debt through centralized commercial banking, charging usury (coumpound interest) that is unfair and mathematically unsustainable in the long-run, and fractional reserve banking instead of 100% debt-free decentralized publicly issued money.
Changing the ("capital" in capitalism) system in my view requires three things
1) Shifting our own individual perception of what money is and its proper function in the economy and society
2) understanding the basic sources of the problem inherent in our current monetary system and educating others by open sharing of information
3) Taking small inspired actions. I see simultaneous actions being taken by many spontaneously growing social networks and grassroot groups at local and global level. Once our inner perception shifts outer reality will shift effortlessley through a peaceful outer transformation via civic engagement and non-violent political reforms. I invite you to explore, think and discover it for yourself. Be part of a bold public awareness and education project so we can collectively shift the evolutionary path of the planet and human civilization for the benefit and welfare of all beings.
I invite you to read my article and join my deep Conscious Capitalism Discussion. Be the fearless agent of change.
Envision abundant Trust Money that keeps circulating love, gratitude and joyful service, instead of greed, scarcity and injustice.
In order to create a new reality, YOU must see it.

Back in the train
I found a picture of you
----
A circumstance beyond our control, oh oh oh oh
The phone, the TV and the news of the world
Got in the house like a pigeon from hell
Threw sand in our eyes and descended like flies
Put us back on the train
Oh, back on the chain gang
The powers that be
That force us to live like we do
Bring me to my knees...
This time around by taking small inspired actions each of us can prepare ahead what measures to take if the volcano erupts! I believe the circumstances are not beyong our control, in fact solutions are not difficult, provided we take the time to understand the 3-4 fundamental blingspots in the colonnial money paradigm we inherited that is cracking the foundation of capitalism.
1) Money as debt is unnecessary (need correct definition and view of money)
2) fractional reserve banking can easily be switched to 100% debt-free public money issued by
treasury
3)no usury (compound interest needs to be charged
on debt free fiat money). This would mitigate inflation, rising speculation and artificial scarcity of money at the bottom and shifting of wealth at top.

we do have the power to stand up and take charge of the train now. Loved the poem!
cheers
Susmita, good post just happened to read it.
"charging usury (coumpound interest) that is unfair and mathematically unsustainable in the long-run"
Yep, all the computer models based on this eventually fail, only so much tweaking is possible and only so much can be locked up in M3 (read long term savings etc. if you don't know what I mean)to take it out of current circulation. Now they are going to try and keep that value unpublished.
We do need a new fair and transparent energy and assets exchange and accounting system.
I have one in mind.
Hi Susmita, thank you for this post. There are much too many words unknown to me in your text, but I happen to have reflected on people's view on money today, so this comes timely.
I don't know if people realize that our whole existence is becoming more and more "ethereal". In the beginning, people traded things. Then they traded symbols of things (coins and papers). Now they trade the image of a symbol of things...
We are coming closer to the truth all the time. Soon maybe we can let go of this thought of money alltogether and just trust and allow the energy to circulate inbetween us without the fear that there is not enough, without the need to measure energy and make sure that the universe is fair :) It will happen as soon as we notice that what we receive is at least equal with what we put out. Actually... the miracle is that if you give with only a grain of generosity, you get so overwhelmingly much more in return.
Yes, Aurora the whole definition and perception of money must change in our awareness. Money is an abstract, symbolic medium of exchange and circulation and has no inherent value. Therefore need not be secured with fractional reserve of gold or intrinsically valueless deposit of fiat money as is done now. The greatest misconception still perpetrated in economics is that money is a storage of value.
Modern fractional reserve banking comes from old gold concept or commodity notion of money and goldsmiths issueing more credit receipts than they had gold in their storage. I define money as it exists in reality now (as ITU than IOU) as a collective agreement of trust. This slight shift is a quantum shift, and can potentially change the entire foundation of capitalism for the benefit and well being of all. Once the inner reality in our mind shifts, the outer would shift effortlessly and non-violently.
Study of money is a fascinating thing, we all need money to live, yet we do not study it. When we do then we can shake off the unconscious chains that binds whole humanity to survival level now and co-create a different democracy and social reality that works for the highest good of all life. I am very optimistic and YOU can help me spread the knowledge. Thanks for the comment.

Far too late for such noble aspirations.
Just have to patiently wait for that Yellowstone supervolcano to blow; then let the revolution commence!
