"... something, it was uplifting... now, when IB pops up, and we see your cherubic smiling face, it is usually followed by the word crisis! Then, a litany of reasons as to why the world, and the US in particular, is going to hell in a hand basket!!" Are you OK? Heatstroke or anything? Just checking..." norm
This particular retort by fellow IntentBlogger Norm caught my attention. It is funny. It is true. It makes one think.
Have we got our priorities skewed in focussing on this major issue that could make life miserable for hundreds of thousands of people as they tragically lose their houses and quality lifestyles because of the extreme greed followed by extreme fear of financial players?
Is there a spiritual, healing or love angle in this which is full of caring and sharing? Please help, because we felt that it would be a good idea to present the unfolding situation in detail so that we can all understand how to build a wisdom based global economy together. We welcome your feedback.
The full range of articles published on this complex crisis are available from here.

Dear DK,
I fully agree with Kate here, having experienced myself some profound scary and wonderful things in my life. It is time we take life into our own hands, standing in our own strength.
Hereunder my reply to part 2 of Avtar's thread about secular spirituality:
In my inner circle Einstein and Mother Teresa are the Father and Mother of the 20th Century. They are united within and live along happily ever after :)
But now we have to transcend them and set our own new rules for a new humanity:
Rule number one:
Love Thyself for thou areth Both
Rule number two:
See Thyself in everything.
Rule number three:
Act accordingly.
By the way, the link hereunder reveals the most beautiful and splendid Sashara Lotus i have seen up till now :), even more beautiful than E8....

Dear DK,
what I mean to say is 'love angle', as you had asked in your post what our thoughts are from our angled perspective.
(you may very well be an angel from that sweet smile of yours!)

When my husband came home, overstrained from work, the radio was playing this song:

At that moment we both knew we would overcome this period together. And we did.
Just to cheer you up :)

If one puts their hand on a hot burner, does one really want one's nervous system to keep quiet about it? If you wait till the smoke detector goes off to remove it, then it might be too late to save it.
Communication issues are a large contributing factor to the world’s problems.
Communication failures are what give rise to most inefficiency and conflict in all organizations.
All the solutions are born from awareness, this is why we need to fill and saturate communication channels, MEDIA PIPES with wisdom, intelligence and insight born of benevolent intention, all with the goal of increasing individual awareness which results in a collective awareness.
This is all done to dissolve the ignorance that leads to pain, suffering, and imbalance.
“extreme greed followed by extreme fear” ~Above
These two items are the worlds shared enemy, every nation and people should be working together to eliminate them.
Marianne Williamson often points out that if there is a fire in the theatre it is not a crime to yell it out that there is a fire in the theatre. The sooner we attempt to put the fire out the easier it is to put it out. The longer we wait the more likely that it will become an out of our control situation and gut the whole building and those next to it.
The Secret is that there are solutions and positive outcomes to all our collective and individual issues, however they require change and unless we communicate the needed changes and implement them the problems will get worse, or we might say the challenges will become greater.
There is nothing in reality to fear, if you live in reality, living in illusion and basing choices on fictions can create undesired outcome.
So the intention is not to create awareness about potential undesired outcomes to produce fear, but instead create the awareness, desire and impetus for change so that there is NO FEAR.
Being aware of synchronicities and appreciate them, especially in so-called "negative" circumstances can make the wonderful things happen!
It makes you switch from one pole to the other in a natural way. No science needed here :)
Love, Mieke
Dear DK,
You are doing just fine. At the same time we present issues we should also present the solutions or the progress being made in developing them.
"we felt that it would be a good idea to present the unfolding situation in detail so that we can all understand how to build a wisdom based global economy better" ~DK
Absolutely, the desired outcome would be to offset ignorance with awareness.
If we could draw the same amount of attention to the Socratic Dialog as American Idol and that Big Brother show get, we would soon be living in paradise.
Maybe we need a reality TV type show about earth and humanity. More documentaries perhaps, but not those focused on diversionary issues, ones focused on real issues.
Dear DK,
yes, you have a warm smile and a warm heart, and that is where all your contributions come from. Your intention is the only thing that counts, and your intention is pure, it is so easy to tell that.
As I see it, it is important to create awareness about today's issues, it is important to have the courage to stop denying, come out of the numbness and see the situation as it is: a mess. "Mess" is another word for chaos...
But to me, chaos is a positive word. Chaos is what we perceive when we let go of our old interpretations of the world. Somewhere I read a line that stayed with me - "the point of maximum uncertainty is the point of maximum possibility." The point of maximum chaos, is, as I see it, the point where the greatest new discoveries are possible.
I think it is important to acknowledge that our world is a mess right now, but I also think it is important to remind each other that this mess is a great chance that we have. It is important that we help each other realize that the fall of the old is what makes room for and stimulates the amazing NEW in us all. So acknowledging that we have a problem is only worth anything if our firm intention is to find the gift of the situation.
The old structures are falling apart and nothing we do can stop that. So our job, as soon as we have become aware of the situation, is to give our focus, our attention, our energy- to the new structures emerging, to the new species we are becoming. I feel that your posts are a lead in this process. Thank you.
Mieke,
Yes in deed, noticing and pointing out synchronicities to others is extremely powerful and empowering.
It helps to provide observable proof of an all pervading benevolent (life promoting) intelligence operating behind the scenes eliminating the doubt as to its existence.
Synchronicity generates faith, in something that cannot be seen, but it’s effects can be observed, and this eliminates fear. Fear disempowers, trust empowers.
Fear leads to irrational thought and irrational behavior. As we all have seen a dangerous animal is one that is overcome with fear. So in the case of say a horse we seek to calm it by loving it.
Love is the antidote to fear.
When we start to notice how what is in our mind manifests in our experience we do become capable of producing miracles. In fact it can get a bit overwhelming, a bit surreal and like a movie.
A fun movie with adventure, drama, and comedy, without the tragedy.
Yes, Aurora, out with the old and in with the new.
The old is falling apart because it is the product of the old consciousness. I bear witness to a new consciousness unfolding at an exponential rate, which will rebuild everything anew.
This includes all systems: energy, health, food, shelter, education, transportation, government, and manufacturing, supply chains, financial and monetary.
The fundamental principle for system redesign is the same as that which is found in nature’s design. Determine the most energy and resource efficient methods that operate in harmony with all the other subsystems and support a continuous regenerating cycle or loop.
Resistance is futile. Those that cling to the illusions will expire with them.
Every individual, entity or organization that embraces the change will prosper and the rest will be left wanting.
Richard,
resistence is not only futile, it is also unnecessary. Resistence comes from the belief that what is happening is wrong. But as little as it would make sense to resist becoming four years old when you are three, as little sense it makes to cling to systems/attitudes/beliefs we have grown out of.
Some of us prefer the well-known misery to the perspective of something new and unknown. Why? Because the known gives us the illusion of safety. It is only an illusion, as the increasing number of "black swans" hopefully start to show. The material world is and will always be changing, what is truly safe needs to be realized. We don't have a choice, we need to learn to become comfortable with the unknown, to understand the flow, become one with it and... flow. This is our growth, we can choose to do it as beautifully and gracefully as possible. And no, I don't think there are any "losers" in this process, because, as they say, nothing that is real can be lost.
Dear DK,
The fact that you posted my buddy Norm's rant about your dire postings, and that you seem to take it in good stride, scores big points in your favor.
We all know that it's been really tough rebuilding New Orleans, it takes time, which no one seems to tolerate anymore. It takes time and committment from the local community.
You know another hurricane will be on the way, and in the past you posted the grave weather report, which most of us have already read or seen online. It's hurricane season, last year their weren't many, hopefully this year it won't be bad, but one never knows.
We have to be prepared and we will rebuild.
Don't forget, millions who live in those communities do the bulk of the rebuilding and we simply don't hear much about it. That's the nature of individual goodness, the impact is not felt nearly as a suicide bomber.
Focusing on extreme goodness and decency is difficult to report.
You are a good guy DK.
Cheers,
Steve
Hi Richard,
Maybe we also really do have a kind of sonar system :)

dear katie...are u sure old flabs meant to say "cherubic" and not "chubby"? yo! damn girl?
DK....you are hell of a good guy!!
That little rant was mostly tongue in cheek...but honestly...you do have me wondering a little bit! You have always been dependable, if the world was going to hell, you always had the uplifting voice. But lately...crisis, crisis, crisis!! Does all this focus, actually contribute to the crisis? Just wondering....
norm
as long as chubby guys are not affected by the terrible things going on in the world, they wont see it as a crisis...it only becomes a crisis if it hurts them directly. no?
Dear DK,
I think it's beautiful that you have the energy and the intellect and the heart to focus on these things. Whose to say what we should focus on and what we should not? I think it is different for each of us and we should honor and respect the different paths we choose.
Thank you for caring so deeply. Thank you for holding your vision.
Love, Kristin
Hey Norm!
I haven't had a chance to say Hi to you in awhile. I know what you mean about keeping positive. Perspective is key. I have a new friend. He's funny. Whatever happens he seems to think it's great. I feel inspired by him. It's interesting because in spite of his outlook he appears to be one of the most compassionate people I know, so it's not that he isn't aware of the suffering of others. He helps by remaining balanced.
Love,
Kristin
suggestions to avoid overwhelming visitors on first look:
1. Keep blog post titles to one (1) line of text.
2. Do not use too many caps in the blog post title - not Everything Is Really As Important As The Author Thinks It Is.
3. Keep the lede (portion of the blog post that shows on the main page) to a max of three (3) lines of text. Images or video size should be kept to 150 px vertical height on main page; however, within the full blog post, the image or video size can be larger, or simple rollover code can be used to allow users to zoom an image to a larger size.
If Nirav knows how to do it: color-categorize posts - political posts can have text or background color A, poetry can text or background color B, recipes can have text or background color C, humor can have text or background color D, and so on.
If a little consideration is given for the reader's need to make sense of the main page of IB at a single glance, readers will respond by reading deeper and more often, even the tough gritty crisis stuff.

Norm, good #16!! I remember many months back; posting something "negative" about the disability social system; and how corrupt it is, in finding ways to make recipients fall into "debt-servitude", and DK responded with: "we become what we focus on." I felt it was a condescending comment; but, I sure DO comprehend what your #16 says in unspoken, but loud volumes!!
You dare to question...which is something we all must consider, for changes to be made.
Dear DK, I too was considering emailing you the other day wondering why you were simply reposting some of the more sensational news headlines that I could have got from the mainstream news sources (floods in UK, British Airways fined, etc). But after considering that your contributions have been unique & valuable on the whole, I chose not to nitpick. You bring a very refreshing and different perspective to Intentblog, and it is very much appreciated (especially occasional touches like the Waqt Ke Sitam post).
Hi North,
Ain't we humans something special? lol
Before we know it, we get entangled into our own sweet intentions :)
Well, as long as we are able to disentangle from them again, all is well.
I must admit, Harb has described this in his book in a very lucid way :)
Peace, Mieke
HI Mieke, all is as it should be...
peace,
North
Dear Friends
Thank you for your invaluable contributions.
Dear North
I am sorry to hear that I made a condescending comment directly to you. It puzzles me.
Please let me know, which dialogue -- URL -- and which # number of string and I would like to read it again.
If so, this is inexcusable on my part and please accept my humble and sincere apologies with folded handed and head bowed down.
I am not worthy to be the dust of your feet.

DK
Dear DK..it was in the winter months, too long ago to remember the thread.. appology accepted with a heart filled with love and gratitude towards you.
Sorry, as I have not read replies to this, but the title did catch my attention.
I believe that what we dwell on becomes our reality as we co-create with the Universe.
I am reading "The Secret" and it's an amazing book as it reaffirms that what we ask for, we get.

Ever notice that in Matrix - Revolutions, the subway station is called Mobil Street Station?
It would've been only a little more eye-popping if it had said Exxon Street Station.
I googled for film criticism that described the series in terms of an allegory on petroleum society. I found none.
I bring up this movie simply because there WAS a lot of negativity, to the point that Neo pukes when he is confronted by his existential dilemma in the first movie.
But what wound through the movie, through all the violence and hopeless and pervasive conditions? What confronted impossibility?
It's really necessary to look at what's happening directly. Unvarnished.
The Satipatthana Sutta is an unkind contemplation on the physical corpse. Its purpose isn't to cultivate pessimism or simply to terrify. But to shatter our conceits however subtle or occasional they may be.
Where we lack ego, there can be no terror.
I believe The Matrix was such a contemplation on the "corpse of the 'world'". And what resulted ultimately was resurrection, renewal...at a price. It was a movie about mature faith that pays its dues.
Thus I love DK's recent entries.
Anyway...I'd be highly interested in anyone who can find film criticism delving into The Matrix film series in terms of petroleum dependence.

Dear DK,
This weekend I have seen two beautiful sunsets, played sports(tennis is my favorite), spent several hours on a work project,
and learned about the illness that is taking the life of a dear friend of mine.
I see why Norm asked the question. You have the sweetest smile - and the dire market postings have me concerned deeply - and I have never been one to invest in the stock market. It always seemed - like - risky!
My view from here is that - Reality - is a mixture of beauty,
and ugliness
in Mother Nature,
and in
Human Nature.
What I love about Life is the chance to be able to be a part of it All, and find out what is the most joyful way to live ((and this is a big accomplishment for me, because I have faced some very difficult and scary things, which made me question why even Life on Earth).
Hope you can feel my love angel :-)
Love,
~ Kate
