Mallika Chopra - September 07, 2007

Two years ago, I wrote a blog about Trusting The Universe when Tara, my elder daughter, started pre-school. Fast forward - Tara started Kindergarten this week and my baby, Leela, is starting pre-school. Time - how did it fly by so fast?

When I had just had Tara, people used to always say, "Enjoy it! The time just flies by..." I would politely smile, thinking "Are you kidding me? The long nights where I get no sleep taking care of my baby just never end!"

And, here we are. I am years older and yet I feel the same - albeit more grey hairs and heavier! I see my babies blossoming into actual kids with their own minds and interests and passions and points of view.

And yet, while my babies are older, inside they are the same souls. In a weird way, time has flown by, but also it has stood still.

They are running and talking and even reading, but their eyes shine with the same innocence and wisdom and love that flickered recognition the first moment I held them. There is a timelessness in our bond, an eternity of being connected.

Most of us love our children, this video is a must:

How correct you are! I am the oldest of 4 children and I was pretty much the full-time babysitter at time even the mother figure. I look at my younger sister who just recently got married and see the little girl I use to take care of. I have learned to restpect my parents love, because the truth is there is no love like it and no connection like it.

You will always have an eternal connection. What is most interesting is that, The universe teaches us us to detach in a healthy loving way and at the same time respect healthy attachments.

It's amazing how everything truly is an experience for our growth. And I would say the experience of being a parent is probably the most wonderful! How beautiful that you have that bond and are so blessed to understand life at a higher conciousness.

Thank you for sharing!

I can totally indentify with your sentiments, Mallika.

My two babies are my two little heroes. I cannot spend enough time with them, they are so adorable. It's amazing to watch them blossom, each day, the innocence of childhood, their unbridled enthusiasm, their curiosity, their boundless energy!

Little two-year-old Filip is now able to make complete sentences, and it's such a thrill to hear him and watch him discover his world.

Thanks for sharing those beautiful, endearing thoughts!

Rgds.

I am so grateful to be able to explore the world at the kid’s level for the second time around. This time with my three grandchildren six, eight and eight. These three guys behave like the musketeers of mischief, but even at that, a lot of reason seems to have crept into their thinking already.

And when I hear one of them say to the other, “that does not make any sense”, I am very happy”!

All three can’t get enough of the local science center.

Skep,

Some sobering thoughts in the video! Thanks for sharing!

Rgds.

Hello fancy love!

One day, with dad and mom, we were eating a hot-dog, outside. We were talking about something special. In fact, my dad opened the topic.

Oh yes, I remember now. A few days after being officially retired. He was calm, with a need to say:

Strange, after all these days working and working, with stress and pressure, today I realize that I have something in me that have never change. I was like that when I was young.

This, coming from my dad, was very nice to hear...

Even the words change-meaning...
