Hi DK, there are many levels of perspective regarding this question. It would take some time to cover them all. There are complex cause & effect & intent relationships.

From one perspective it is all an illusionary thing, all part of a fiction we participate in, which leads me to wonder if I am not entangling with it right now writing these words.

From another perspective is can be very real and have an affect on one’s experience.

I would say in answer to the question that: it prompts me to lead a change of the world’s monetary and financial systems. A new energy and asset exchange accounting system.

A new system one can implement without any new legislation and the consumer giving it full authority.

Is the dollar really weakening or is that a perception being promoted that results in the weakening of the dollar?

We remember The Dollar is just a symbol, and the only power or value it has is what people give it based on their perceptions.

The weakening is generally another word for inflation. The economist’s interestingly argue the cause of inflation. But in truth I would suspect it is mostly A MEASURE OF THEFT.

The weakening of the dollar may also be a strategic thing or some naturally occurring systems thing that will trigger evolution.

For example the only place a dollar can be truly spent is the United States.

Let’s look at China which owns Billions of US dollars, which means we (the people of the United States) owe them products and services.

Inflation reduces the amount of products and services we owe China, which from this perspective we might say Inflation is good for the United States because it devalues the currency held by people outside the United States.

From one perspective it is all an illusionary thing, all part of a fiction we participate in, which leads me to wonder if I am not entangling with it right now writing these words.

I was talking with other business owners the other day and it is now becoming cost effective to move production back into the United States. Localized production now seems to be the green way to go.

The ego empire is collapsing, people are seeing through the appearances.

We can go much deeper with this question.

More thought later perhaps if those reading create more words from me.

The tourist town that employees me is having a good november for retail, restuarant and hotel. Usually it's dead in november, but the canadians are here spending.

But your question is interesting on other levels. What if the news didn't get reported like it did? What if we didn't know that the dollar was weak? What if word of 9/11 was just starting to reach the left coast?

I love the local new cast commercials which talk about 'getting you the news you need when you need it..fast!...the information you neeed!!'. Why do I need it?

Because we have instant access to this 'information' I believe we will see in our lifetime an instant great depression brought on by a culmination of a few events at once.
Or you can cancel your cable.

For me personally - since I am leaving for Delhi in a day, it will be less Rupees that I will be able to exchange it with.... in the immediate term.

In the medium to long term though the effects will be more. I am already started putting my money in other currency backed instruments etc. The inflation however will take a little while to drive home.

Meanwhile my friend in Canada remarked to me the other day: "Man, you are OUR Mexico!! We drive over to NY to buy our stuff for cheap now!"

Well, thats the new "Continental order" now ... Canadians go to US to buy cheap goods... and Americans go to Mexico to do the same. And so on.

The continent has been neatly laid out now! if you can probably find a way to leave north of Canada.. you might get ahead of the pack!! :-)

The weaker dollar affects me not at all, since I do not have enough sense to make any dollars.

My "dollar" seems to be expanding. Money is energy, right? I express myself through money. I vote through money. I love through money. Money is expanding NOW from you to us/me and from us/me to you. Money...an exchange of values. This money is "golden" and not the root of evil.

ooooooooooooohhhhhh its been great!!! went shopping to Buffalo a few weeks ago... everything is SOOO DARN cheap down there!! Makes me think though how much more we're paying for the same things up here in Canada.
One pair of 'Payless' shoes thats $55 in canada was $22.50 in US - not kiding, SAME shoes.. and everything else was also atleast $10 cheaper if not half price... so the amount is less, the taxes are less, and the US dollar is lower.. you save a lot!
