unconditional love, honesty, commitment, playfulness.

Honesty , respect for the person and communication

In my relationships with people, with myself and with life, I do my best to express truth. Truth means seeing the truth in them, in me... and that leads to overwhelming love, an overpouring of genuine gratitude, heartfelt closeness, unconditional openness, revelation of the shining beauty, and such intense joy that it is sometimes hard to contain.

Every moment when this truth is clouded for me makes my heart break. And so I am doing my best to express that which I know is always there.

Hi deepak,

I use the ARC
Affinity
Reality n
Communication mainly

then the honesty n clarity of thoughts

well, what do u practise deepak?

Nilesh

Entering the the middle ground, where is not knowing, where is fulcrum.
Not I, not U, but This. The relationship may rise or fall, but This will provide all manner of awakenings to the open 'eye' Not I, not U.

Not Edmund

Being true to oneself.

Well...Looky who! What togetherness...goodness gracious!

And Deepak,

Personal? Like Ed said(sorta), and as Harb intimates...

the only relative to whom I express my best self freely is Me.

I'm going to have to go with Respect.
To have respect for others is to respect
Yourself
Todd

If you are, I am not

Why are we born without seeing our face?
Because seeing oneself in the other is our grace.

Intersting question with many answers depending on who are the people in personal relationships. Here's an answer:

http://intentbog.rediffiland.com/

Out of love, compassion, and respect, I think that 'RESPECT' is probably the most important quality in any relationship, since sometimes we may not feel love or show compassion, but we can always 'RESPECT' the other and ourself regardless of our state of mind, emotion, & body.

Love, Char

I am by no means always respectful, patient or understanding in my personal relationships. I lose my temper quite easily and can be sarcastic if I am hurt. But what I almost always am with others is kind. I have always been quite empathic (sometimes to my frustration) . Other quality I think I express in all relationships is honesty. I cannot do fake.

Sensitivity, caring.

Reason. I always tend to use reason. I assume it is because I grew up in Western civilization where science is prominent. Unfortunately, especially with my ex husband I could always see the other side of the issue, usually the underdog's, and express it. So that did not allow for much harmony. But I still use reason.

I may be the only one to say so, but it is possible to reason out the existence of God.

Reason allows me to be intereted in mysterys and gets me working on solving the mystery.

Take for example Sri Yukteswar's book The Holy Science. It is totally wonderful but there was always one thing that did not make sense. He explains the Yugas, but for 30 years now it has been on my mind what he meant by our sun going round a dual star. Only last year did I read my older daughter's college astronomy text and find out that there are stars that orbit perpendicular to the Milky Way. They call them halo stars.

PS: It doesn't matter if it's the star Sri Yukteswar had in mind. What matters is the possibilities.

I guess I digressed from the question. Reason allowed my to calm the hysteria of three young girls and maximize the doldrums by baking something yummie. Or, taking a sheet out onto the backyard on an exceptionally windy day. We held it up to the wind and it almost lifted us off our feet.
They ask me why I never cry. I don't know. It may be the same reason why, as a child, my small pox vaccination never left the usual centimeter scar. (Well, my mom thinks its weird.)

How weird is it too be born on your mom's birthday, which always falls on or near Mother's Day?

Reason also leads to understanding. My mother has been an alcoholic for many many years and done many hurtful things when she was delusional and obnoxsious. She's alienated my sister and my brothers at various times. Their sense of forgiving takes a little more time than mine because I call her the Vagra Dakini. In Tibetan Buddhist mythology , the Vagra Dakini is the most scariest and vicious goddess of all, but underneath she is kind and generous and sweet.

Honoring the higher self in an individual as opposed to pointing out weaknesses and flaws.
That which you visualize or see usually has a tendency to appear.

Acceptance, Compassion, Friendliness

Probably confidence and self assurance and optimism. Sunny personality generally speaking as I tend to see the brighter side of life! I like to be happy rather than sad.

ITS NOT ALLAYS A MATTER OF CONCSIOUSNESS TO DETERMINE WHAT QUALITIES YOU EXPRESS IN PERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS.AS NOT ONLY THE BEST OF YOU IS UNDER SCRUTINY BUT RATHER DARK SIDE OF UR PERSONALITY ALSO COMES OUT IN ILLUMINATION...WHEN YOU ARE INVOLVED IN RELATIONS
