An Open Letter to the Presidential Candidates

Deepak Chopra - January 16, 2008

OPEN LETTER

To

Hillary Clinton
John Edwards
Rudy Giuliani
Mike Huckabee
Duncan Hunter
Dennis Kucinich
John McCain
Barack Obama
Ron Paul
Mitt Romney
Fred Thompson

From

Russell Simmons, Deepak Chopra, and Benjamin Chavis

January 17, 2008

Dear Presidential Candidate:
We are writing to you on behalf of a new, more conscious electorate. As the potential next President of the United States, you know that we are living in a remarkable moment in human history. Millions of people around the world are crying out for a higher quality of life.
A global grassroots movement has already formed. Thanks to a wave of rising consciousness, countries once consigned to the Third World are praying, seeking, struggling and working for positive, even redemptive change. Given the opportunity to participate in the voting process, emerging populations will express their political will and spiritual aspirations for the future.
In that light, we want to ask you six questions:

1. How open are you to welcome and encourage a more inclusive political dialogue?
We are thinking about those who are at the margins of the political establishment. Democracy needs to reach out to the millions who reject the rigidity and cronyism of the two mainstream political parties.
2. How do you view minority representation in government?
We stand for correcting the scandalous under-representation of women and minorities in Congress. We believe that discrimination against minorities will never be sincere until America’s actual demographics are reflected in the corridors of power.
3. Will you commit to using the Presidency as a strong advocate of the United Nations’ goals for the environment?
The United Nations has reported that if the U.S. and other governments do not change their policies toward the ecology, global warming will become a destructive inevitability in as little as a decade.
4. Specifically, what is your plan of action to eliminate poverty in America?
Divisions between rich and poor are growing wider in this country every day. We support the reversal of this trend, which places America among the worst developed nations for economic inequality.
5. What do you intend to do to end the war in Iraq?
A misbegotten foreign adventure is not only bankrupting the country and making us weaker instead of stronger against our enemies, but the heaviest burden of the fighting falls on the poor and minorities.
6) As President, how will you exemplify leadership toward the fulfillment of "the beloved community"?
A united, color-blind, compassionate society was described by Dr. Martin Luther King as “the beloved community.” We support that ideal as the true vision of America’s future.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Russell Simmons
Deepak Chopra
Benjamin Chavis

These are the questions that matter, this is what politics needs to be about. A very relevant and timely letter, thank you for feeling the pulse of change and taking action!

An open letter to myself

Stop writing for a while
remember I am in love
fall in love with me, again
forget about the boring politics because its boring. boring
get a pedicure, a facial, and a brazil wax.
take up a new hobby
kiss my babies
breath
eat
sleep

And the list gos on.. all that stuff you said too, deepak david and benjamin.

I love you Kate : )

A very interesting thing happened MSNBC was holding this Political Debate in Nevada. They invited the top four candidates. One of them, Richardson, stepped away from the race.

This brought Kucinich into the debate and he was then invited to the debate. Then the top brass found out and a couple days prior they changed the rules to having only the top three candidates attempting to silence Kucinich.
---------

This tells you who to vote for without a second thought. If General Electric fears the words of Kucinich, but not the other three, then that tells us he is not in their pockets and he has something that the citizens need to hear. General Electric must have the other three beholden to them.

Kucinich explained: Our society is being militarized. And part of the problem is NBC, which is a partner defense contractor through the ownership of General Electric of both NBC and Raytheon. So NBC is really promoting war here.

What right does the media have to establish the criteria as to who should be able to be in a debate in the first place, especially when they have corporate interests that could be affected by various candidates or appreciated by various candidates? So, you know, this is a profound issue of democratic governance, of our presidential—the integrity of our presidential selection process, and goes to the heart of the need for real reforms in the media.

"Beloved community" asks the pointed questions that demand pointed answers at this tipping point in time. Thank you for leadership stirring up momentum.

Trish~~

Deepak,

Some of those questions are answered here [Click my name] at least in part, by all the Democratic candidates.

democracynow.org took the Nevada debate and then allowed Kucinich to respond to the questions as if he was there. After reading the responses of all the Democratic candidates at the link below I think it is clear who knows what is going on and who might really be the best choice. It includes some insight into some of the candidates.

Something I suspected, Hillary is heavily funded by the pharmaceutical and insurance industries, they want to privatize a socialist approach to medicine and line the pockets of the drug companies with money from all citizens. This is why Hillary isn’t taking about Universal Health, where we eliminate most disease. It’s Universal “health care” meaning someone profits from disease and we pay to treat the symptoms which become a perpetual flow of revenue. Drugs induce the need for other drugs and treatment.

Maybe AL Gore should run as president with Kucinich as his running mate. Or perhaps Ron Paul and Kucinich could run together.

Oh forgot to mention that FOX News did the same with Ron Paul.

Kucinich and Paul must have some potent thought, lethal to the current system of things and the few that benefit to the detriment of the many.

The Corporate Establishment Media is attempting to manipulate the elections not only by exclusion but also by the framing of questions and issues. In other words attempting to compose a story, rather than articulating reality.

HOWEVER

It remains to be seen how much power the corporate status quo media really has, and how surprisingly powerfully impactful the Internet< Blogs and citizen media and the instant connectivity may come to be in the months a head. We could say to expect the unexpected there is no telling what forces may come to play. Perhaps some infinite forces are coming into play soon.

It has been said Al Gore would step into the presidential race in a certain situation. He has not said anything regarding what situation would move him to enter the presidential race.

We can only speculate what that situation might be and a lot can happen between now and Election Day. We might expect the unexpected as a mysterious force present for the first time may be at work.

The story as you all might have guessed which no one wants to say is:

Based on some very advanced analysis, which could prove to be wrong, it was determined that if Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama was the Democratic candidate, the Democrats could lose as a result of last minute cognitive dissonance.

Of course they could work out well running mates.

So this is why some media might prop up the two because it might increase the odds for the Republican candidate to win.

It sounds like a good story doesn’t it?

Yes, I agree, dear presidential candidates

All the worlds problmes rest on your shoulders, how are you going to fix them? We demand a perfect world, it's up to the government to do everything it can to provide me/us with entitlements.

We know better, we are the new consciosly enlightenment and we aint going away, dig?

Good luck candidates, we will be watching

pps Hi Aurora, I'm just having fun this morning, this post made my day :)

Steve

Hello Deepak and Everyone,

It is a good letter Deepak, but it may be more than the Candidates can chew in one bite. I would start out slow and then add a question or two, maybe, start with #4 and #5. Really, these Candidates are swamped right now with questions from every direction. You know none of them are supermen or a superwoman, and we want the "real answer" not the "made for quick tv-debate answer of 90 seconds or less."

I hope you will keep us informed of their response.

have a great day everyone, ruth

Re: letter to prez candidates....

Yo Aurora C, Tammy, Trish, RT, Amber, Granny...wow..i didn't know u were prez candidates! hehe....the field is getin' crowded...damn!

Impeach Bush... for his direct "immoral and unethical violation" of human rights and the human slaughter, of hundreds of thousands of men, women and children by his hands of corrupt, perverse power, in Iraq.

Impeach Bush.. is what I would EXPECT from ANY New President. That is, if I were an American, and the American President had a straight backbone for political justice!!!

North

They always read the early letters, i.e., before one becomes the President of the U.S.A.

I liked the letter and I know Deepak, but I don't know who those other two guys are, so I will do a web search. Maybe I should know them, but I do not.

Love,
Char

PS: Candidates especially read and respond to the letters with campaign money in them, or at the very least someone in the campaign responds.

Yep, a sore spot. My dad gave every penny to the government - all his retirement money, as well as his savings and he was a poor man. He spent his life writing and writing to the government. And when he died, it was but a missing check.

Love,
Char

I know ... I've got an attitude adjustment that was needed when I woke up this morning, so I'm going to stop here on this subject and go work on myself.

"We are writing to you on behalf of a new, more conscious electorate"

This reminds of the GM slogan years ago... What's good for General Motors is good for the country.

One pre-supposes that a more conscious electorate knows better than the less conscious? The only reason why I mention this is that their is nothing new or revolutionary mentioned in the open letter, except to say that the authors are stating that they are a superior class of beings.

I wonder if the less conscious will be punished for being laggards, will this be the new protected class or will that be reserved for the more conscious?

Cheers from Steve, the less conscious

Dear Steve, hi :) I've been thinking of you a lot, because I've been trying to get hold of the book you recommended and it's not available from my usual bookshops, so I thought you maybe have some other good book or online source to recommend about Judaism.

You were having fun in an earlier post, and were a bit bitter, and hurt, it seems...

I think you are right that these things are not new, but you know what I feel the novelty is? That people today are becoming REAL about it. Everywhere on this planet, we have been talking about caring about the less fortunate, about the environment, about equality, but now we -really- start to care. That is what I think the writers above mean with "more conscious electorate".

Don't you feel the same when you look inside yourself? That you now REALLY care about these things, that you now also want to have politicians who don't just say the right words like we all have done before, but who also feel in their hearts that they care? For real?

I myself feel that a revolution has happened inside me. I'm becoming real. And as I'm in no way different from others, I think this might happen in most of us.

All the best to you today and every day!

How to determine who to vote for president and members of congress.

As we have all come to understand the current system of things benefits a few to the detriment of the many. Those few would like to keep things the same and would likely resist changes.

These few would use the mechanisms available to them to support the candidates who they most had the most influence or control over. One of the main mechanisms is the corporate owned media. We simply need to look at who the establishment media is supporting to see who we should not vote for, albeit often supporting them in subtle ways, such as the framing of questions or topics chosen for discussion.

We would want candidates not beholden and influenced by those benefiting from the current system of things. The reason is we want change, a new system of things one that benefits the many to the detriment of none in a holistic sense.

Now the reverse can be true where if the opposing side has a candidate that would not ultimately win when all the factors are summed those that currently benefit from the current system would support the opposing candidate that would ultimately lose in the final vote against their preferred candidate the one under their influence and control.

For example the Republican steering committee for the Democratic campaign would seek to manipulate the Democratic Party campaign internally and externally, and ultimately the voting public, to create the illusion of free choice. Creating the illusion that the voting public chose the president when in fact the president was already chosen and the fictional framework was then created to lead the voting public into creating the appearance that they “naturally” chose this candidate. We see that using the creation of fictional and story only one candidate becomes the apparently rational choice by the larger number of voters.

We should also note that the party leaders generally under the influence of the Status Quo (those that oppose evolution of the systems) actually present to us who we are going to choose from. So in effect the public’s choice of a candidate is already limited by the choices of a few party leaders. With the party leaders of both groups serving the status quo interests we ultimately end up with a status quo president.

So Dr. Ego in his efforts to maintain the ego empire would support H. Clinton or B. Obama and then at the last moment introduce fear thoughts, actual fictions that would cause enough of the voting public to have doubts and end up choosing the status quo candidate because the opposing candidate would not get the majority of votes as a result of their subscription to fictions.

Of course some may argue that Clinton is a member of the status quo with all that support from the pharmaceutical and insurance industries. Two industries with a symbiotic relationship, in that the insurance industry allows the medical industry to charge and profit more than would be possible in a natural marketplace, while the high prices charged by the medical industry create the necessity for insurance.

We know this because in a holistic system the insurance industry would be promoting the end of disease which is now feasible, yet this would eliminate the need for anything other than physical injury insurance decreasing their profits.

Two such fictions that may be promoted in your minds is the idea of a president influenced by PMS, or a president that would appoint an administration of melanin endowed individuals.

These are fictions because gamma-Linolenic acid (GLA) can be taken to eliminate the PMS and who is to say that melanin impaired deficient individuals currently appointed are any better than the melanin endowed individuals?

The status quo best defined as those that do not want change also known as EVOLUTION, because they currently benefit from how everything is working now which is to say getting a huge value returns on a minimal effort, value contribution and or simple manipulation or control of the systems.

Or in the case that they see change as inevitable they want to control the rate of change and it’s implementation so as to create new mechanisms that allow them to retain their advantage.

Evolution of mankind would be a switch to non fossil fuel sources of energy, ending disease / malnutrition and poverty and reengineering of all world systems, professions, and industries from a holistic perspective.

Of course we can rest assured that The Forces of Ego can never stand against the Evolutionary forces for long, and most times the Forces of Ego unknowingly work at the behest of the evolutionary forces where their finite intentions ultimately result in the manifestation of the infinite intentions.

It is safe to say that with the Internet and instant communications “Expect the Unexpected” as a great battle is fought in each individual mind between truth and fiction.

What we can expect, in the end which is always a new beginning, 2012, that that truth will prevail because it has a foundation and fiction does not.

Such that the Ego Empire built on ignorance would someday succumb to a Spirit Realm based on intelligence, and it is only a “matter of time” since the seeds are planted and grow, memetically speaking from a planetary societal programming perspective.

Dennis Kucinich (D) and Ron Paul (R) have articulated real changes to the status quo and are not beholden to those that benefit form the current system of things or those blinded by religious dogma and fictions that many still cling to.

If the nation is to choose one of the candidates that you have been steered to by the status quo media while being divided and confused by the fictional issues and empty solutions then you choose as a nation to maintain the status quo.

I for one do not want to face the resulting evolutionary stimulus that will result bringing us to evolve anyway if we continue with the same. The evolutionary path can be pleasant or turbulent; the choice of experience is ours.

The world wrestles with ancient demons, bad experiences born of fiction and fear. The effects of the experiences passed down through the generations trapping us in their illusions. The only way to slay these demons is through love and understanding. Knowing that all were born into a world of fiction, seek the truth and speak it so that they may be dissolved.
When you are attacked the attacker is attacking as a result of an illusion. See the reality and meet the attack with compassion, wisdom and understanding, slay the demon and the shatter the illusion. A demon may be passed on for centuries but a single act of love will destroy it and cast it into the pit for all of eternity.

Separation is an illusion, and collective unity is the solution, yet we remember that it is individuality, the mutant free radical that is the spice of evolution that benefits the all.

"The trick is in not responding to the illusion, but rather the reality behind it."
~Infinite Play the Movie

Well said Richard.

All this bickering and pseudo-intellectual solutions to achieve a somewhat utopian society is quite similiar to the practice of modern medicine which doesn't primarily go after the root causes.

An almost perfect society existed during vedic times in ancient India, and the main reasons for it were the caste system accompanied by efficient lifestyles which lead to peace of mind and a general sense of well-being and good-nature. This caste system is now heavily corrupted and misunderstood. Such a social model took into account an in-depth perspective of life including reincarnation, genetics, mental evolution, etc. and did not try to fit a soul's evolution into 1 desperate lifetime. This social structure provided great clarity to the people as to what they were supposed to be, and educated, sophisticated people naturally climbed up the ranks to lead the society. So as per the standards set for the various castes, people would be absorbed in them, and as such the society ran like a well-oiled machine.

What has happened now is there is no hierarchical social structure based on intellect or wisdom, and as such people devoid of deep wisdom, far-sightedness and clarity are leading and addressing the people through politics, business and media. Furthermore, the lifestyles of people themselves are so messed up that it has affected their sense of clarity as well in choosing the right leaders, and hence the chaotic world we find ourselves in.

For things to get better, the entire American culture has to be refined and enriched because that is where the root causes lie and hopefully the people as the ones here become the majority. Don't know if this is possible but that is the only solution to this growing mess, relying on these politicians is false hope..Kucinich was probably the only one close enough, but even he proved to be too idealistic and impractical for the times. Que sera sera.

Pentagon Explores 'Human Fear' Chemicals; Scare-Sensors, 'Contagious' Stress in the Works? Creating a scent of terror?

Click my name for the Wired magazine Danger Room article.

Fear is contagious and so is loves which do you want to be the source of?

Perhaps this will create a sense of urgency to elect Kucinich.

Perhaps some of you will help finance my awareness campaigns via the OneClickRevolution.com to counter the disinformation and establish the solutions in the minds of men? Not much time left people.

You all knew this was coming. Fear has a paralyzing affect and irrational behavior and violence. It is the device of the Anti-Christ or the forces of ego to sustain the ego empire.

I know the odor. I can already tell you where they find the compound. It is on the walls of those small enclosed waiting rooms where people are fearful of the encounter they are about to have. They are on the last mile on death row if you don't wash the walls, and they are in the secret torture chambers paid for by citizen tax dollars.

This is the summary, and this can not be permitted to happen.

"Animals use pheromones to attract each other for sex, and warn each other of danger. Now, Wired reports, military researchers are working to harness the 'human fear' pheromone to create a scent of terror. The pheromone could lead to smell-based terrorist sensors, and new weapons that rely on 'contagious' stress."

Act now to destroy the fictions, form a single voice of spirit and wisdom that is heard by all, saturate the communication channels.

HERE IS IDEA!

Let's find the love pheromones and spray them everywhere. I bet they are on the walls of bedrooms.

Here is that classic saying.

"If it were not for the cost burden of fear and conflict we would all be living in paradise."

Malnutrition causing a third of child deaths
A third of child deaths occur for want of simple vitamins and minerals and a daily fill of breast milk. That's the stark message from five studies of childhood and maternal malnutrition published this week in The Lancet.
"If you eliminated malnutrition, you would prevent 35 per cent of child deaths globally," says Bruce Cogill of UNICEF in New York, author of a study examining whether the situtation could be remedied by reforming agencies charged with tackling malnutrition.
Cogill says that although malnutrition killed 2.2 million children under 5 in 2005, only $250 million is spent on nutrition aid globally. This compares with the $3 billion spent on HIV/AIDS, which killed 380,000 children under 15 in 2006.
The main study, led by Robert Black of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health in Baltimore, Maryland, analyzed the death toll from malnutrition for 2005. It reports that lack of vitamin A ...
If I were president I would lead this type of executable solution to this above problem.

I would create an awareness campaign regarding the benefits of Amaranth, a super food. This would generate demand. Amaranth is very specially designed unlike anything else, although quinoa is similar. Amaranth can serve as a substitute for baby formula. It contains to rare in the plant kingdom amino acids. The two that most vegetarians are likely to be deficient in. It is rather complete and contains has a much higher protein to carbohydrate ratio, it is mostly protein. It doesn’t contain fattening gluten so it is good for diabetics. The Mayans considered it to have mystical powers and warriors ate it before battles for strength and endurance.

The most interesting thing about Amaranth is it’s design it encases and protects the nutrients on the inside of the seed, rather than having them at the surface like most everything else.

Another good thing about Amaranth is that it grows in poor soil and drought conditions,

People feel good after eating Amaranth it was designed for human consumption and it is pretty to boot.

Lastly are favors manual harvesting which is most efficient? This provides jobs to the unskilled, in other words alleviates poverty.

Don’t forget you are supposed to store one third of the Amaranth for events to come watch for the signs and correlations.

As president I would also point out an important item in the news piece above.

2.2 million kids killed by malnutrition spending = 250 million.
380,000 kids killed HIV/AIDS spending = 4 Billion.
Notice the difference in spending? HIV spending involves high profit drugs and costs 16 times more yet benefits a smaller number of children.

Anyone see what is wrong with the numbers in this?

Especially since malnutrition increases the spread of HIV. A healthy body is more resistant to having the virus penetrate the healthy tissue. Open sores, a visual sign of malnutrition, are an open invitation, or source of HIV if infected. Sores and thin tissue with weak collagen bonds increase the likelihood of the virus spreading.

Therefore malnutrition in Africa for example should be eliminated first across the entire population this would eliminate a lot of disease and drug spending, cost burdens on a society.

Have you all heard we are on the brink of depression? They say recession but as we all know from direct experience, not some academics status quo standpoint that we are already in a recession.

Perhaps the bankers have dug themselves into a pit of course we helped them, they just directed while we shoveled.

FUMNDAMENTAL FLAW IN BANKING SYSTEMS MAJOR FACTOR IN GLOBAL FINANCIAL FIASCO

Based on our review and systems analysis of the world finance and banking systems. One has been able to locate an “apparent” fundamental design flaw in the system.

Although limited in access to some of the internals due to a lack of transparency (see below) one has been able to locate a fundamental design flaw in the world’s banking systems. Still pending introspection from other subject matter experts that can explain the findings, and or a response from the industry and regulatory authorities the flaw is outlined below.

The Flaw:

Currently the creation of money consists of a several general ledger journal transaction entries to cash, liability, asset and owner equity accounts regarding the principle amount of debt created.

The crucial flaw is that these debt transactions involve monetary units representing the interest portion of the debt transaction. Monetary units representing the interest portion of the debt transaction is not created in the money supply master account.

What I found is that money creation transactions are each tied to an interest liability transaction that shows as an asset in the lenders schedule of accounts and liability on the borrowers account.

If we look at the master chart of accounts and lender borrower equation we see that see that the money needed to balance the transaction requiring payment of interest does not exist in the system.

There is not a GL transaction to create the monetary units needed to pay “all” of the interest back. This is not a problem that would cause the system to malfunction in the short term because physical tangible assets (collateral) can be converted into value on the borrower side of the equation and be used in lieu of dollars to pay the interest.

All the physical assets on the planet were not on the books and no currency was created dollars to represent this value. Over time as a result of borrower defaults the tangible assets presented as collateral would be transferred to banking establishments allowing them to use their control of the monetary unit symbol and the master accounts to convert their intangible (valueless) fiat currency into tangible physical assets with value.

Furthermore this flaw in the system can be covered up for many years by either simply creating more money (loan debt) with accounting entries allowing the borrowers to pay the interest while acquiring more debt or creating enticements to move money into M3 (IRA’s 401Ks) where it cannot be accessed or spent for decades by the true owner, effectively taking it out of circulation.

It is not clear how depreciation of assets, for example cars, is accommodated in the system and the borrower and lender relationship.

Monetary units and Tangible asset

With this issue where there are no transactions on the monetary borrower’s side of the equation to allow payment of interest using monetary units. Some borrowers are forced to transfer ownership of tangible assets in lieu of not being able to settle their debt with monetary units.

This system okay, although a small number of borrowers will always end up defaulting until there are no more physical assets to be converted or the rate of conversion of symbolic units into physical assets is less than

Example of lack of transparency: the privately owned Federal Reserve recently stopped publishing M3 and will not give out the numbers because they want to keep it secret.

There has been a suggestion to allow college and university students majoring in accounting and finance to audit the Federal Reserve as a National Project. Any of the big five CPA firms cannot be trusted to do the audit or can they?

Well I am sitting here alone with God, we are watching the drama unfold and realizing the divine comedy behind it all. Waiting for a request for intervention and the support to do so.

But hey it's just a movie so don't get to serious.

and Diablo Kucinich is not a racist.

i was not refering to dennis, rich! don't act dumb, please!

Be sure to watch Larry King tonight they are going to be talking about us.

If the nation chooses to maintain the status quo and the industries, professions and institutions persist in resisting evolution and acting in ways that are not resonant with life, then One will load the linguistic programming into the minds of man to bring their existence to a rapid end, forcing a rebuild of the systems.

So knowing the fictions will be destroyed one might embrace their truth beforehand, in fact we all might embrace the truth as one. It doesn’t work so well when you have half the party operating under fictions and the other half operating under truth. It makes it very hard for those that wish to operate under the truth if they must deal with those minds clouded by fiction.

One thinks One has given enough warning.

The total plan is beyond my comprehension but I know it’s intention, that which is here with us now, and knowing that one can predict outcome and flow with it.

There are two things that have not been understood yet. That quantum randomness is all pervading and that consciousness / observer [virtual particles] give rise to form via a filtering mechanism which is also the same as projection. Quantum randomness is the field. In other words from the entropy of the universe comes order as a function of consciousness.

The other thing that has yet to be understood is that space connects everything. Action at a distance is possible because the two objects are connected by the very same space. If I have a long stick and you hold the other end of it and I thrust my end towards you, you will instantly faster than the speed of light feel it at your end. Now replace the stick with space.

Travel across the universe is possible because travel is a function of space not matter and with that you can understand the gravity of the situation. Travel is only an appearance a valid one at that, creating a real experience, it’s all about choice of perception.

You can fantasize all you want and believe or fictionalize, but if the math doesn’t work, it is not going to become reality.

Playing dumb can be smart, catching them unsuspecting.

Oh good, I get to stop writing now.

Ron Paul would end the insanely named War on Terror, and restore the civil liberties which have been abridged in its name.

He'd end the war in Iraq.

He'd end the War on Drugs, which is a policy of systemic racism that disproportionately affects blacks and hispanics. He'd pardon everyone imprisoned for non-violent drug crimes and substantially dismantle the prison-industrial complex.

He'd restore a sound and honest currency by preventing the unchecked creation of money by the Federal Reserve System. This inflationary system creates a hidden tax because new money injected into the economy dilutes the value of the money already in it. This process transfers wealth from the poor and middle class to those who get to spend the money first, including the military-industrial complex; the medical-industrial complex; and the private owners of the Federal Reserve banks. Ron Paul's strong opposition to this system is the primary reason why he is treated differently by the gatekeepers in the media, excluded from the debates, and generally scorned by the establishment.

Regarding your questions about poverty and the United Nations: Ron Paul is not only a medical doctor, he's also a de facto historian and economist. Implicit in these questions is the assumption that collectivist solutions are currently viable. Is that a fair assumption, considering the track record of our government (e.g. endless wars, Hurrican Katrina response)?

I urge all readers to become familiar with Ron Paul's sincere and principled opposition to government intervention in the markets, the welfare-warfare state, and big government generally. He's a student of the Austrian School of Economics. (Ludwig von Mises and Murray Rothbard are two of his primary intellectual forefathers.) If we're going to have a government, doesn't it make sense to keep it small, at least until we're ready as a species to make a leap in consciousness?

Finally, here's Dr. Paul discussing health care:

http://www.worldhealth.net/

Hello Dear Aurora,

You are sweet, sorry you haven't found Telushkins books, have you tried amazon.com? I know he is on there, otherwise I don't know.

Two words didn't appear in the open letter:

Liberty
Freedom

I'm not bitter, just saddened by loss of the worth of the individual. Deepak has made the comment on more than one occassion about the potential for humanity ending up as a failed experiment, a cosmic junkheap.

I prefer to fight for the individual, empower him/her, stop with the "I know better and will protect you mentality", it's best for everyone in the long run. Not warmed over Socialism, even France is sick of it.

I wonder why I still comment here?

Said with a smile Aurora, please not to worry about me.

Cheers,

Steve

Dear Deepak,

Thanks for your concern. We are listening, and, like all people everywhere, dream of a better world. Therefore we would like to respond to your well-thought-out questions:

1. How open are you to welcome and encourage a more inclusive political dialogue?
We are thinking about those who are at the margins of the political establishment. Democracy needs to reach out to the millions who reject the rigidity and cronyism of the two mainstream political parties.

Not Very. In case you haven’t noticed we don’t care for the messages of people like Dennis Kucinich, Ron Paul, or even John Edwards. As a result, they don’t get media coverage. Not fair? Let me remind you, Deepak, of exactly who is making the rules around here.

2. How do you view minority representation in government?
We stand for correcting the scandalous under-representation of women and minorities in Congress. We believe that discrimination against minorities will never be sincere until America’s actual demographics are reflected in the corridors of power.

Our idea of diversity is Alberto Gonzales and Condi Rice. Now there are some diverse folks for you! We thought Colin Powell would be, but then he started talking like one of you people. At least we got him to lie to the United Nations in 2002 so we could have our immensely profitable Iraq war, which has been a great success by every measure, made the upper one percent lots of money, and established a permanent military presence in Iraq.

3. Will you commit to using the Presidency as a strong advocate of the United Nations’ goals for the environment?
The United Nations has reported that if the U.S. and other governments do not change their policies toward the ecology, global warming will become a destructive inevitability in as little as a decade.

Yes, we are very enthusiastic about working with the United Nations. In fact the UN needs to be completely reworked. That’s why we sent John Bolton in there. But you people whined too much. We’ll continue to look for ways to get the UN on board with our policies. Until them we can just continue neutering them every time they stand up for one of their dumb “causes”.

4. Specifically, what is your plan of action to eliminate poverty in America?
Divisions between rich and poor are growing wider in this country every day. We support the reversal of this trend, which places America among the worst developed nations for economic inequality.

Deepak, what poverty? We don’t see any poverty. Under our hero Boosh we have benefited greatly from his enlightened economic policies, as shown by the figures below:

From:
New York Times magazine: Rich Kids Syndrome
http://nymag.com/news/features/42595/index1.html

“…raw economic data from the Federal Reserve, which Boston College’s Center on Wealth and Philanthropy has analyzed: In 2000, there were 7,000 American households worth $100 million or more; in 2003, there were 10,000; and today, though the data isn’t yet in, Boston College estimates that the number will be 14,000 or 15,000, or double what it was at the beginning of the millennium. If you pare back the standard from eight zeroes to seven, the numbers are even more surprising: Boston College has calculated that in 2004, the last time the Fed provided data, there were 649,000 American households worth $10 million or more, a nearly 300 percent jump since 1992. In his recently published book, Richistan, The Wall Street Journal’s Robert Frank observes that the wealthiest Americans have effectively built their own country within a country, “complete with their own health-care system (concierge doctors), travel networks (Net Jets, destination clubs), separate economy (double-digit income gains and double-digit inflation), and language (‘Who’s your household manager?’).” By 2004, he notes, the richest one percent of Americans were earning more than the total national income of France or Italy.”
Umm…poverty?

5. What do you intend to do to end the war in Iraq?
A misbegotten foreign adventure is not only bankrupting the country and making us weaker instead of stronger against our enemies, but the heaviest burden of the fighting falls on the poor and minorities.

It was not misbegotten, as previously noted. It was a desirable outcome which we have been wanting since Gulf War I. Finally, 9/11 gave us the opportunity to go in there and make the money we all knew was there, and set up our bases.
The “war” in Iraq will convert to a permanent occupation. Basically, the war is over in Iraq. We need another market. We think Iran or Afghanistan could open up the market potential of a hot war zone in the near future.

6) As President, how will you exemplify leadership toward the fulfillment of "the beloved community"?
A united, color-blind, compassionate society was described by Dr. Martin Luther King as “the beloved community.” We support that ideal as the true vision of America’s future.

Color-blind is OK. We aren’t concerned with that. We are concerned with controlling the world’s money and resources. We’ll drive a deal with anybody, we don’t care what religion or color they are.

We hope you have enjoyed our answers as much as we enjoyed receiving your questions.

Sincerely,
The Status Quo

Dear Steve,

isn't it funny how it works? I had found many Telushkin books in my online bookshop, but not Jewish Wisdom. I just did a new check to ask you which of the others you recommend... but now they have even this book! Intention never fails...

I'm glad you're all right, but I do feel your sadness. I think I even understand what you mean, please correct me if I'm wrong- you feel that aiming for the good of the whole has to be at the expense of the good of the individual, or the individual's freedom.

Steve, you have to forgive me, but I'm not versed in politics, so I can't discuss forms of government and such. But I do "see" how things happen in us people, and what I see right now is that we're not heading for either socialism, communism or capitalism, nor any other -ism of the past. What is happening now is completely new. It is precisely what you wish for- a total empowering of the individual, but with the power of the deepest spirit within us- that of generosity, love and sharing.

It is not at the expense of the individual, maybe of the individual ego. When each of us starts becoming real about who we are and what we truly want in life, we discover that we need to give at least as much as we need to receive. Our freedom, when completely accessed, is the freedom of caring for others and giving of our fullness of assets and heart.

So what is happening is not that "someone up there", a government or god or institution, demands of us that we start caring and sharing, resulting in a civilisation of terrified or docile sheep... but something completely different.

We are simply starting to care and share, from inside. Not because we MUST pay our taxes, but because we care about those people and issues that need to be taken care of. Not because we MUST give to charity, but because we care about those nations and people who are starving. A human family, if you will... and when love starts pouring form the heart... you have kids, don't you? It is not a limitation of your liberty to care for them, with all your heart, is it?

I don't know if I can explain this, but I feel it so well within. It's a surge of something new and true sweeping over all of us, and why not allow it?

If you leave aside your surely great knowledge about politics, what do you feel inside, Steve? do you recognize what I've been trying to describe?

Ron Paul also recognises the doctor-prescription induced addiction craze in north america and canada!

I greatly admire Mr. Paul; for having the foresight to see, and support the use of marijuanna, as opposed to government approved addictive narcotics.

It greatly angers me, to see the world at large, allow people suffering incurable diseases; living in lives of poverty, malnutrition and severe physical pain--caused by accidents or disease.

The fact that canada and usa spend billions annualy keeping marijuanna illegal; is simply ridiculous, an infraction of individual human rights, to right to medicinal choice!

We all must question a government, whom interferes in medical science which has proven over and over again, the benefits of marijuanna, as opposed to the addictions and symptoms of the body, mind and spirit on narcotics.

This past year alone, my tiny town of 6000; lost 5 human beings to narcotics. ALL, admittedly(through grape-vine talk) that they'd preferred marijuanna, yet feared the legal ramifications.

Now, they are dead! They became embroiled in a world of synthetics, which the government supports.

The diseased, aged and dying; are being coralled like sheep into a world of addictions.

Shame on those, whom dictate our rights to choice; for ye are killing hundreds of thousands of lives each year; and each year, the synthetic drug epidemic grows;;the violence grows;;the black-market sales of oxcontin and oxcocet; are higher than ever before.

The death-rates climb.

Ron Paul is a man, of honour and courage; to admit.. the system is wrong! Keeping marijuann illegal is a means to emply the hundreds of thousands of civil social service and police workers; coming with the "cost of lives."

I bow in Ron Paul's direction... as an activist to rights, to medicinal preference!

FREE MARC EMERY! : (

jeremy--your#27

further, I'd like to add, that all the Ron Paul's of the world, are pushed aside.

Nobody wants a hero anymore--everyone just "wants some more!"

Ask Brittany! A perfect example of indulgence, corruption, addictions; another lost soul. Such a shame; she was one heck of a talent too...

I wonder so often, whey the Ron Paul's never get the limelight; are excluded and ignored--it's because there just aren't enough honest people in governments... anywhere in the world.

When the good folks become the obsolete; then humanity must be afraid.. be very, very afraid!

I also feel Hillary would be the worst possible President! Her background is skewed; she is proving "something" and it is not for the benefit "of the people" and anyone with open eyes can see the drama-queen pull off her best show yet!

Frankly.. going through the list; Ron Paul really IS the only honest man without corruption baggage... isn't he?! : )

Yogi-One--I know you don't need my approval; but, your #29 was so bang-on(pun intended for you war mongerers reading)and it gave me goose-bumps.

And.. the truth shall set you Free!

colour me part of the status quo!!

Hilarious stuff Yogi!

Economic Stimulus Package for the United States

The cost burdens of fear and disease shall be eliminated and an advanced low energy efficient life supporting infrastructure will be built. High quality organic food production and energy efficient transportation systems featuring mass transit dominance and a consumer supported and owned communications infrastructure featuring independent subscriber based intelligence outfits. Outdated education systems replaced by technology assisted intelligence transfer and training. Then end of college degrees and the beginning of advanced impartial area specific knowledge certification programs.

“The people of the United States are wealthy having collectively controlled assets” in the form of land, highways, buildings, utilities, education and supply chain systems.” The people of the united states also collectively form an intangible asset class knowledge, intellectual property, and experience.

To understand the plan you first need to understand holistic economics, there is no shortage of money it is created out of thin air based on the borrower’s commitment to produce this amount of value in products and services in the future. In the case that no new money is created then the value of each monetary unit in the system increases.

So to launch the US economy the people of the United States simply need to commit to creating the most advanced energy efficient physical and supply chain infrastructure in the world. In other words the greatest place to live.

There is so much work to be done that we will probably need to hire people from other countries to help build it and they may choose to stay here and live in it. Just converting from oil to sustainable renewable free energy is going to provide major jobs, not to mention the overhaul of existing structures to make them energy efficient.

At the point we collectively make this commitment we can then generate the monetary units to represent the products and services that will be created.

But hear is THE NEW DEAL.

These monetary units will be created with a small percentage allocated for Monetary System Management fees. What we are going to do is separate Investment from General Monetary System’s maintenance costs. Investment will return dividends and we will eliminate interest as we know it.

Financial market gambling based capital gains to be heavily taxed and dividends will be tax free this eliminates methods of extracting wealth without making a genuine value contribution, while still allowing natural market forces to direct investment to those that bear fruit while producing life resonant products and services providing benefit to other economic system participants.

Interest to be replaced by monetary system management fee and dividends.

Universal Health Care (treatment and aggravation of disease symptoms) to be replaced by Universal Health, a disease free nation. The medical industry will be based on physical energy repair and body machine diagnostics and improved delivery of quality balanced raw materials and the elimination of environmental toxins.

Value Extraction from the economic system by any entity must equal the genuine value contribution to the system by said entity. (No more lucrative contracts)

The system will be open and transparent (eliminating secret deals and pay offs)

All entities will have access to a revenue pipe through which they can make a contribution and create value necessary for food, shelter, and transportation. Thanks to technology many people will only need to contribute a few hours a week to the economic system to live.

Here is a side thought.

All historical interest due may be nullified with accounting entries, and no individual can control more than 1 billion in assets.

Once we get it figured out the rest of the planet can do the same, or perhaps we can all do it together?

Hi Aurora,

Did you find Telushkins Book on The Book of Jewish Values? A day to Day Guide to Ethical Living.

Sorry you didn't find the Wisdom book, he does carry over themes in each of his books.

Do I recongnize inside what you are seeing?

Honestly if someone has good values, and that just has to be taught I don't see this coming up any other way, then yes I see a lot of caring for the world. Let me explain. A child is born selfish, by design otherwise it won't survive. This is natural instint. If left unchecked, if not taught the values of let's say sharing or saying thank you , to show appreciationg, to show caring for others, don't lie, cheat or steal, etc. how do you think the child will behave or act when he/she grows up?

Their are studies that show a high percentage of students who cheat in school say it's ok to cheat to get ahead. Also Parents would prefer a student to cheat on a test than smoke.

Children, when asked over the years by a well known talk show host, if given a choice who would they save from drowning, their pet dog or a stranger? The overwhelming answer- their dog.

Many children are completely absorbed in non-human activities, suchs as computer games, ipods , texting, etc. How does that develop caring?

I think the role of parents and religion play a big role in a child's ethical and moral development. Yes at some point, it's drilled in, lesson by lesson, example by example, being strict when necessary, and kind as well.

I don't believe a heart driven world or a world where values comes or unfolds spontaniously from within. Aurura your heart is different from my heart. Today I got angry, were you angry today?

Maybe you cried today, I didn't. I know I'm being very mundane about this, again I know where you are coming from.

Do I want to see a world at peace, without suffering, no poverty, all get along, of course I do.

I applaud expressions and attempts at individuals who feel empowered to do something about these big problems. Maybe we are in agreement on this.

My main contention is that we shouldn't look to a government to do all this for us. The more a government tries to be a nanny to it's people, we are morally poorer for it. We demand entitlements, we give less charity, we are less inclined to help or love our neighbor, the atitude is Nanny will take care of that.

Tough love Auruora.

That's what comes up inside me these days. Freedome and Liberty for society. Whatever one want to do with internal development, that's fine, I just think it's turning more narcissistic, and I don't think that's healthy.

That was fun, enjoy Aurora,

Steve

Dear Steve,

I did find "Jewish Wisdom" and have ordered it. I'll be back on Open thread to discuss it with you if you should like to, as soon as I've read it.

Thank you for looking inside with me, Steve. There are layers to who we are. We can look inside and see emotions, and as you say, these might be anger or sadness or something else. But if we keep looking, at some point we fall through this layer and arrive to the layer of beliefs and values, just as you describe. Here lies everything we have been told, taught... everything we believe will keep us safe, accepted, out of trouble, everything we believe will expose us and make us vulnerable, all the rights and wrongs of our thinking.

And still, this is not the last layer. If we keep looking at our thoughts and beliefs, we notice how they come and go, and change... and so we "fall through" even this layer, to a sweetness, a tenderness without notions or emotions, right in the center of the heart. That is what a heart truly is when looking at life without old programmed emotions or beliefs.

That is what I see knocking at the door of every heart, asking to be allowed to come out, asking for freedom, liberty. Most people don't realize it is their own heart knocking... some can say, like you: "Do I want to see a world at peace, without suffering, no poverty, all get along, of course I do". Of course we all do, it is what we want when we let go of all our old hurts and notions, not because someone has taught us to want it, but because under it all, we are peace, joy, abundance, harmony.

I think that if you check it out thoroughly, dear friend, you might notice that the longing for freedom is not about freedom from govenment supervision or something else out there, but from the old layers around your own heart, just like everyone else. If we all start letting this deepest river of our own spirit flow out freely into the world, first into the layer of our thinking, then of our emotions, then of our actions ... it will change our world in a way we have never seen before, beyond all political ideas we now hold.
