Aloha Mallika

They say we choose when and how we will die to have the most impact on the people around us. Prayers to his daughter and loved ones and all those who feel close to him for he is still here. love patty

I saw the news on the web a little bit ago and it made me sad as well. For the first time, I watched a movie or CD series he was in and I really enjoyed his presence... during the 2007 year-end holidays.

Love, Char

I've posted this on my myspace a short while ago too, Mallika; I am so pleased you have also posted this saddening news here, for us all to gather in prayer, and rememberance of Heath Ledger(28), actor extraordinaire!

I have yet to see Brokeback Mountain; but, I did enjoy his portrail in Mel Gibson's Patriot.

Peace, much love and comfort to Heath's two-year old daughter, Matilda; and to his ex, Michelle; and to all of his family, friends on a personal and professional level.

Terribly saddened...

Love, North

Hello Mallika and Everyone

It is terribly sad when one so young, so alive and strong dies, so suddenly. I feel for his family, so far away, in Perth Australia and Michelle and Matilda Rose.

Hey Malika,

I am sad for the 784,000 people die annually due to medical mistakes. They don't seem to get any attention and no one feels for them and this is a cause for sadness. The cause of these deaths doesn't seem to get much attention in the status quo media.

But you gave me an idea, we need to put a face to them so we can mourn their unnecessary demise.

I think we can do the same thing that MADD does showing people killed by drunk drivers. We will show people killed by the medical industry.

How is it that drunk driving gets so much attention but kills far less people then the medical industry and this industry escapes scrutiny?

I bet where the profit flows plays a big factor.

P.S I know there are a lot of good people in the medical industry but they need our collective support to stand up against the authoritarian controls guided by profit that stand over them.

good points Richard!! His Father mentioned he'd had trouble sleeping, and took sleeping/anxiety pills. Should Heath had the freedom to use marijuanna, rather than synthetic drugs; and without fearing the stigma, and legal ramifications dictated by an ignorant society; I have NO doubt whatsoever, he would be alive today!

Marijuanna, would have helped Heath to sleep, probably better than synthetic sleeping aides, without risk of addictions OR overdose capacity; most doctors and government seem to dish out narcotics, like candy to society; without regard, for life or risk of addiction...

yet, doctors are never held accountable in cases of patient-addictions, or deaths; only the poor seem to pay the price for these crimes...as they are easy targets for the corrupt, ignorant and in my view; when doctors capitalize on the suffering of patients by over-prescribing narcotics; they should be held accountable.. why aren't they?

IF a person gets drunk in a bar, and drives home; hits and kills someone while driving; that person is jailed for vehicular homicide; yet, doctors make large "fortunes of wealth" with every prescription they write.

To me, too many doctors are merely legal drug pushers.. not unlike at all... street pushers in the same game? so, why are street-pushers jailed, and not the doctors?

In response to Simon's post on the OT Thread, in regards to commenters here, posting on the sadness they feel, in regards to Heath Legers death.

Taken from a book I've had since the 70's...Common Herbs for Common Illnesses by: William R. McGrath B.A.,N.D. 1979

WHAT IS DISEASE?

Disease migth be defined as any condition of the living body which prevents normal function. Some disase re caused solely from the lack or oversupply of certain esssential biochemicals produced by the body. Two such example are insuling deficiency(diabetes) and cortin deficiency(Addison's disease). Other diseases result from the body's self-intoxication due to improper elimination of its own wastes.

Hippocrates, the Father of Medicine, was one of the first to point out that many diseases are a result of constipation.

There are also diseases caused by germs and viruses which gain a foothold in the body when natural defenses are crippled by imbalance and disharmony.

Finally, in our times, a new class of diseases has emerged known as "iatrogenic(doctor-caused) diseases.

These maladies are a result of medicinal malpractice and side-effects of harsh chemical drugs used as antidotes and antibiotics.

Realistically, the doctor does not cure the patient. Hippocrates stated that the ideal doctor works ans an artist to enable NATURE to cure the patient.

"The physician is the servant of Nature."

The Romans had a proverb for it: "Vis Medicatrix naturae curavit", or "the healing power of nature cures!"

The writer, Oliver Wendell Holmes, who was also an M.D., stated somewhat humorously, "Nature cures but the doctor collects the fee!"

Because of the effects of drug shock, serum sickness, vacenosis, pain-killers, radiation, malformation of the unborn by experimental drugs(like thalidomide), overmedication, and surgery, the public is groping for a RETURN TO NATURAL THERAPIES.

-----the above, taken from the book, page: 1 - History of Natural Therapies. For the record, myself being on disability; I was put through the ringer with Disability a few years ago; they tried to kick me off...because I REFUSE narcotic pain-killers for pain, of which cannot be described. I am adamant, I'll not be another statistic...I prefer natural remedies, such as marijuanna; which gives me, what narcotics cannot; and that is freedom, far away from the possibility/probability of addiction to narcotics; and lining the pockets of doctors whom care only for the balance in their savings accounts!!

Sadly, because marijuanna is illegal, and getting outrageously expensive, it's been quite some time since I've been fortunate enough to have some; I suffer tremendously(but, not silently) being denied--the freedom and right, to free-choice of medicinal preference....

I ask you.. why does the government support narcotics addictions, and not marijuanna, which is non-addictive, and non-cancer causing?

Money... from the sales of synthetic drugs, dictate our loss of rights to choice; and corruption, allows the illigalization of marijuanna, merely to employ civil workes with jobs post-graduation.. cops, doctors, lawyers, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists and lastly, and perhaps more profoundly... addictions councellors, which are the "many."

WE are the collective guinea-pigs, and financial "employers" for "them."

I left out my comments "to" Simon, prefering it be on the OT, where he so blatantly questions "everyones" motive... except his own.
