Dear Friends, we rather enjoyed this feedback (#2) from Heather Quinn, in regard to "Is Iceland the Canary in the Mineshaft?" so here it is... "DK, oh please can you be more merciful with us? Less verbose and numerical, and more chatty? Because we can get to the depths and details of things just fine, but it's nice to start out slow and easy, and get there after a few steps. As a busy person, I find I resist reading anything long and intense, because my own life is intense enough already..."
"When I conquer my resistance to reading, I always find much of interest in what you share here. But it's hard to find something to say when you've already covered most of the bases yourself -- for example, you'll ask a question rhetorically and provide your own answer, which closes most doors to debate, unless the reader is willing to do enough technical research to come back at you with a sustainable disagreement, or sincere support. Why not take one side of a position (i.e., don't cover all the ground yourself) and leave questions open, so we can talk with you? Otherwise, it just seems as if you're asking for support of your own views and positions."
Heather you are right! Please accept an apology with humility. Your perspective is worth remembering and thank you so much. In one sentence, what I was trying to say is that "we have been living beyond our means as a global society and now the chickens are coming home to roost!" You all know so much more and we are always learning from you so help us to become better.
Here is an open invitation to all to build a better world together by moving us towards a wisdom based global economy based on forgiveness, love and less consumption, less acquisition. It requires seeing meaning in global and local developments based on synchronicity and unifying messages of Oneness from the Supra Universal Consciousness. There is absolutely no room for ego within the Absolute and with all humility we bow at the lotus feet of All! To see the One-in-All, the All-in-One, we have to live it with love and humility! N'est-ce pas?"
Heather, you are wonderful!

We welcome your thoughts, observations and views. Thank you.
With love and warm wishes to you and family

Heather and DK,
You know, speaking of acquiring illusions--this TIME, geez!
If I had more, more, more of that free fakey stuff,
I just might read and write myself out of my 'too busy to be' world.
I barely have TIME for mystery and romance, let alone
technical jargon and number crunching for inflationary purposes.
Love you both any and all ways. I hope you know That!
Bye now! Keith
Dear Heath, DK, Keith,
Who says there are no fairy tale endings? :)
Dara
This NYTimes.com article talks about how many things -- drought, disease, higher incomes in rice-eating nations -- have led to a shortage of rice, which will affect the poorest of the poor in Asia and African -- this is one effect of living beyond our means. Those who are least able to help themselves will suffer the most:
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/03/29/business/worldbusiness/29rice.html
An effort like FreeRice.com is even more important now, since there's a rice shortage.
At FreeRice.com, by playing a word game, you will improve your vocabulary and donate rice through the UN World Food Program. It costs nothing for you to play. The cost of the rice is covered by FreeRice.com's advertisers. The more you play, the more rice you will donate:

Dara, things like FreeRice.com remind me that magic is not myth -- that magic is created when people act dil se (from the heart).
Hello DK and Everyone,
Just a min but wanted to say thanks to DK for this post in reference to Heather's comment..
Sometimes, Heather, blows me away with her ability to articulate and with her astuteness when communicating and expaining her thoughts and feelings...a true pleasure to read on any given day!! thanks Heather for your great input here at IB...
hope to get back later to read on...have a great day everyone, ruth
Too much jumbling 'out there' and one misses the jumbling within. Empty the mind and free the backlog.
See that jumbled jigsaw fall into place.
"Not my template Lord, but yours."
You answer, Lord, "And yours, my Child."
There is only one currency, Keith. It's your keen eye. What do you see hidden in that pile of fakey that would set you free. Thou art more powerful than even dreams suggest. Help me out. ;)
Yo Heath, Yo Dara Yo DK.
you are wonderful Heather!
love,
~ Kate
one day I wish to serve you all at my banquet table

Who can resist an invitation with love and humility :)
What is going on here?
A facet of All yearns to open eyes that still don't see. A facet of All bares the heart, longing for real connection.
There is yearning in All, towards the full realization of oneness. It takes honesty, courage, humility, love. And these are the qualities displayed by All here :)
Dear DK,
"we have been living beyond our means"
"less consumption, less acquisition"
I disagree with these two items, if they refer to greed, yes that is a problem, humanity is capable of infinite creation, the problem is with the systems, they benefit a few to the strife of many, they are poorly designed for today’s world and warped by misaligned intentions. They needed to evolve. We should not be living in a world of lack but one of prosperity and abundance.
Why is there a fee to make an economic contribution and create value?
Why are people forced to participate in an artificial system? If you try to fish without a license they will fine you, and lock you up if you don't pay, to live most anywhere would be trespassing unless you pay a fee.
Management with the help of the passivity of the people has destroyed a paradise; I see glimmers of light and increasing awareness but no unified collective effort to change with wise informed leaders. There are leaders out there but we don't give them our attention and cooperation. I tried and didn't get much help, some support yes but not the resources needed.
Unless of course there are some miracles, which would happen if not for fiction based ego blocking them.
Cheerio!
Thanks for posting this DK, as I too can relate to Heather.
----------------
But for me, it's more on the lines that DK's posts mostly seem to be about all the doom and gloom of the world, so I try to stay away. Maybe it's just me???
Plus, as stated in this post, all that economic talk is more than what I want to know as a laywoman, as I assume others might find it not enough, if they are interested.
I feel that if we present doom and gloom, we create it, so I don't want to be a part of it. Sorry and I say it respectfully as I can see DK is a master at economics, so I admire all his knowledge. But it's just way too much for me as well. Plus, I would like to hear more positive stuff, but maybe that's delusional or wishful thinking on my part?

A Labor of Love, The Love of Labor
Quality is full of love. Cheap is born of greed and fills our landfills and pollutes the world wasted energy and material. One should not shop for cheap stuff, a garment born of the labor of love lasts longer and actually costs less in the long run, and this is wisdom. If the consumer seeks the lowest price (a form of greed) then they help corrupt industry, the consumer supports slave labor and sweat shops. A machine can impart no love into what it makes, so not everything should be made by machine. You get what you pay for.
Plastic is cheap and wears out fast, with some exceptions it is a detriment to the world, metal parts last a long time and represents quality. Moving parts should never be made of plastic this is wisdom.
But don’t be fooled by a label, how does a consumer know quality? Has a company created the appearance of quality and charged a high price? How do we know? We can't see the quality of fasteners inside the engine.
Implement the universal information system. I have designed such an open system. The universal information system allows every product produced to be unique. As well as all it’s components down to the batch for quality control, such that all it’s components can be viewed and the quality of material known. It allows us to actually see the people that made the product in a labor of love and how it is made. More than this the new system shows the actual profit margin. Although it can indicate who is taking the most profit it really shows who is most efficient and intelligent in their design and in the methods of production. Consumer feedback and experience can also be recorded for each design and source to others see what is made from love and in perfection, and what is not.
Quality is GREEN
Cheap is GREY, a dismal way.
Quality is born of a Craftsman’s love for his work, this was the way of the Masons, but something was lost and forgotten, the great wisdom. Greed killed the labor of love. In love there is perfection and harmony.
Deadlines and management using force and fear, cutting corners, and cheap materials have compromised the information technology infrastructure, not to mention other products and services, both hardware and software, I am seeing this now and the whole world will be in dire straights if this is not corrected because we depend on it.
Management & Labor and eliminating the elements that creates an imbalance. The use of fear destroys the labor born of love and creates products with flaws. Management should set the intention, provide the resources, intelligence and guidance and allow labor to build at a natural pace in the flow, and a perfect product is created benefiting all.
Wealth earned should be in proportion to the actual value created and the number of participants served, so great wealth is possible and blessed are they that serve many and create great wealth, blessed are those that serve a few that serve they many, they should never be wanting for they too serve the many. Wealth created from artificial needs, created problems, gambling, control of the monetary symbol, legislation of profit, the illusion of scarcity, fear, disease, and manipulation and deception are ill gotten, and it will not be retained.
I trust the agents will covey this theme to executive management. If executive management embraces this theme, and gives it voice they will prosper. This will help solve the issue with China and it’s people.
Fear and ego (fiction based) are the greatest threat to the bottom line.
The Youth of the Nation, what is the problem?
I have noticed in the youth, a natural aversion to greed, money, and materialism because of what it does to people and the world, their families, it ruins our lives, the conflict it creates. Quite often their reluctance to participate (learn and get a job) and their unappreciation is really a product of this disgust and aversion to a system built on fear and force, a great hypocrisy, not love, gravity and the authentic self.
If we transform the system, we will transform the youth.
