For the last week, two of my good friends have been staying with me. Malik is an amazing conscious musician who performed at our last event and will again at our next event and Shulay is vibrant woman with deep insights and a warm soul. Both will soon be Awareness Architects.
The plan for this morning was to wake up early and head over to Malibu for an all day hike that my buddy Mateo is leading. As the early riser, my job was to wake up the rest of the gang so at 7:30, I hopped out of bed and sleep-walked over to their room to be the alarm. Malik barely opened his eyes to say that we didn't need to leave so early and went back to bed. Cool, I was glad to crawl back into bed for some extra shut-eye.
So I walked back to my room, and into my bathroom, and as I started to pee in my half-awake, half-asleep state, I realized that my bathroom door was wide open, my bedroom door was wide open, and their bedroom door was wide open. I have wood floors in my place so they would have to be in hibernation mode not to hear me pee. In fact, maybe the sound of my urination was entering their dreams. Maybe it's a waterfall. How soothing. Ahhhhhhh, they'll thank me when they wake up for bringing the elements into their dreams.
As I laid back in bed, I couldn't help but chuckle. If these two people were strangers, I probably would have felt somewhat embarrassed by my clear lack of etiquette. Yet because they are dear friends, I think it's funny. It just goes to show you how everything is a matter of perspective.
When you have people in your life that love (you) regardless of how weird, bizarre, exotic, interesting, or strange you act, a whole new type of relationship ensues. A freedom to be totally, authentically, and naturally yourself develops. A comfort to be real arises, and with that, you no longer have to "try" to be. You can just be.
As one of our Architects Tammy Lynne once said: "everyone is looking for someone to allow them to put their guard down." It's so true, and as we continue to add more and more amazing people to our selfcentered tribe, I have come to believe that everyone isn't just looking for someone to allow them to put their guard down, they are looking for a whole community to do so.
Today, I'm going to be be ok with being completely and totally me. I'm not going to modify to fit in. I'm going to be authentic and inspiring......and pee with the door open.
What will you do?

Well, Simon; I don't have the nerve to pee with the door open. hmm..., so I will sing aloud, and allow my downstairs neighbour to think me gone mad altogether...
Love,

Max,
You tell an authentic story. How inhibited we humans are. I grew up with three sisters and we hid in the closet to get dressed. Why the shame of our bodies and our bodily functions? So much distortion! Where did it come from? How do we heal from it?
Trish~~
I would close the door and flash the loo with the toilet-seat down.
Feng Shui and Vastu experts will tell you the same if you care for
the energy of your house and your own. Otherwise, if you make it
a habit, you pee down your life-force along with apana movement.
Are you sure you were peeing.... ?
Love

Thanks Max for this way to bring open-self. It's really well done.
Yesterday I have found an article on internet that I would like to share today with all of you.
Here is my introduction...
On a land of house-nature where footsteps echo the sound of wood
Into a morning fresh of air not breathed
Dancing with sunrise not see yet
These eyes not seeing
The presence missing of a clear-songbird
From the trees silence, a call, a wakeup call
Yet another
And another
To...
