The Jesus Inside Me

Mallika Chopra - March 07, 2008

Last night, I took my daughters to watch my father at his book signing at the local Barnes and Noble for his new book, The Third Jesus. They were so thrilled to see "Nana" talking in front of people, and Tara, my six year old, whispered to me excitedly,

"He told all of them that we were his grandchildren!!" Leela, my three year old, was most interested in pretending to color during his short talk, even though she knew so many people were watching her.

After my father finished speaking, we rushed out to get the kids home to bed. A young man - probably a college student - rushed up to us as we were heading out.

He asked me, "Are you Deepak's daughter?"

"Yes," I replied.

He opened his notebook, looked at his scribbles, and asked, "Did he say that Jesus Christ is actually ourselves?"

I smiled. The thing is for some reason, many people think my brother and I are authorities on mind/body medicine, ayurveda, consciousness, vedanta, physics, spirituality in general and in all its forms, and now, of course, Jesus Christ. Alas, if only people knew how little we know!!

"I'm not sure what his exact quote was," I replied, "But, in essence, I think that is what he was saying. That we all are part of, have God inside us."

The guy looked at me in awe. I seriously thought he was going to cry. "Dude." He paused. "That's just so fucking awesome."

He looked back at his notes, and I made my escape.

"Mommy, I guess he liked Nana's words." Tara chimed in. "Isn't that nice?"

I guess so, I smiled. I was grateful that my daughter, for the first time, had seen and realized the power of her grandfathers words, and I was proud of her and my father.

And we headed home.

Very nice post Mallika! Kewl!

peace

Hi Mallika,
That is really sweet! Thanks for sharing. I also went to see your dad in Berkeley at the book signing. As always, it was great to see him and listen to him.
Regards, M:)

Very Cool Mallika!

Hi Mallika,

I just happened to run into your dad at a Borders in Ann Arbor the previous week. He mentioned you in our conversation and that you were in India. There were five camera's there, a lot of video being shot, hope to see it posted sometime.

Your father answered the questions very well including the hard one about the diabolical nature of God, a question that arises whenever we concur there is just One Being in the room. A being both noun and verb sharing many different points of view of course. Enlightenment as in realization of the self in everything doesn’t have to be an arduous path, it is a simple shift in perception, yet the impetus for making that shift can take some time and an accumulation of experience and exposure which some day triggers the shift which almost seems a matter of grace as if it is bestowed upon one. Yet holding it in mind consistently can be a challenge for even the adept living in a world born of fiction. Not of this world, is not of the world of false perception, in contrast to living from a truth based on One.

When you write
about your dad teaching Tara how to meditate, why wouldn't people think
you and your brother
have been taught all about
mind/body medicine -----> Jesus Christ?
;}

I have always felt a strong connection to Jesus. I used to pray or meditate and Jesus would appear to me. Then just recently I was asked how the belief in Jesus served my self. This question shifted Jesus from being outside of me to finding Jesus within me. There is noone outside of me. I am all.

A strong wind of motions
Made of us in cyclic dance
Snowflakes of thoughts
Slapping and caressing

We came inside-eye, central-point of union
To sit and watch
The wall of our manifestations

Back to back
In an attempt to cover all the vision-field

I am watching and don't know
And you?
And I'm watching again
And I am feeling your back

Elevating itself in a click out of time
An other cyclone is starting it's spinning wheel
Covering us of an inexplicable
Invisible
Peaceful-destructive
Ring of energy

I am becoming blind of walls-power
And alive of superpower force-field
Making our vertebral columns
A bi-sinusoidal antennas of the unknown

Again, let me breath for what is coming
Please let me breath
For this sublime
This time
Asking everything from me...

Saying that Jesus lives within us are just tricks to make people live together peacefully. In think in reality there is nothing of that sort. There is nature and our bodies are part of nature and it is taking care of itself. You are no more important that a mosquito or a snake and every living body lives with a symbiotic relation with other bodies. There is no self, super self and all that nonsense.
The body is not willing to accept that it is just that and it will be recycled for some other purpose after the body dies.
Once the body cannot accept that it is just that then it manufactures all these nonsense about the self, super self, ego,Christian,Hindu etc. and then sustains it and implants it in every human body that is born and the process continues till the body dies.

#8: U.G. Krishnamurthy?

# 8 Prabhakar,

What do you call death of the body ? Where do you draw the line, since you speak with such philosophical convictions, you should know that body is never born in the first place. How can that which has no beginning die ?

Read Adi Shankara, any of his works, or a ''1000 teaching of Shankara''. He brilliantly elaborates on the hallucination of the idea of the beginning and an end. The best part is where the sage talks about the human act (sex), which brings about the birth of a new body, yet there is not birth as such, for in fact it is a continued process of atomic transformations on the background of sub-atomic reality. ( ... the semen in man comes from the grain he eats, and the grain comes from the rain and the process of a photosynthesis... etc )

When talking about the death, there are some prana which even after the main vital ones departed stays to carry on the process of de-composition or rather re-integration into yet other form of life.

According to my knowledge there is no death at all. There is only Life ! Not a biological life (like Avtar calls it) or any other kind of life, but life as such - the fluctuation in consciousness, which throbs with infinite possibilities as one un-interrapted continuum.

Nothing in this Universe come into existence, as a way of progression through the process of dying and being re-born. All this is a matter of speech only. Universe exists as Totality at once !

There is a continued process of transformation on the elemental level as well as on all higher ones, which because of our present culture cannot be acknowledged fully.

Perhaps the Christ within is the crossing of the vertical axis of the Never-changing reality with the horizontal plane of existence of ever-chanign world of phenomena.

With Love to you Prabhakar

Jai Guru Dev

That was a sweet story and made me smile, except when I got to ucking part. I don't know, but was he having sex or something? And with whom? Maybe Deepak was that good for him, but really? Do any of us have to repeat the profanity of another? It just does not become your sweetness. Maybe it's just me and I'm old fashion and surely judging. I just wouldn't want my young children miss-using the English language to express their ignorance. Plus, I thought it was not allowed on these boards, which goes to show you what I know. .... sorry, but I could not keep quiet. Now if you brother said it, I would not have thought anything about it. Oh, well.

Love, Char

Ooops, I did not mean that Gotham was ignorant either, but he just has this wild and uncontrollable side that seeks attention. I think my foot is going further into my mouth.....so I am shutting up.
