If the story is true, who initiated the training and funding? If it was Tibetan exiles, including the Dalai Lama himself, aren't they justified? If it was initiated by others, and accepted by Tibetan refugees as an aid in freeing their country from China's rape, isn't that also justified?

China wants Tibet because of its mineral resources. They don't have the right to Tibet. Where are the critical articles about China?

"Tibet, the 'great game' and China" would be a very interesting piece to read.

Click on me name for the article!

I wonder if God blesses all troops; Russian troops, Chinese, Israeli, Iranian, Indian, Japanese, and even people who have no official "nation," or army, yet also fight for their respective causes.

Does God bless the world’s warriors!

As far as America's need to battle the "forces of evil" throughout the entire world in order to protect "our" interests, it is quite amazing that the last time our “homeland" was actually invaded (unless you are sympathetic to Mexico’s rightful contention of historical injustices), was over a century and a half ago during the Mexican-American War. Funny, it seems we are still being invaded from the south . . .

I call any dead or injured troops victims, victims of the greed of landed godds and moneyed lawyers, and I truly pray God does bless them all. Which leads to the question if every prisoner of war is blessed, is sanctified; or perhaps just a portion? Were both Confederate and Union soldiers blessed; or just us Yanks (or just ‘a portion’)? Were Russian, German, Japanese, Vietnamese, etc., prisoners of war all blessed . . .

Are gospellers of wealth blessed, or liberation theists; or is it just a portion respectively . . .

pax vobiscum

If you want to criticize the US fairly for dishonorable, corrupt, disrespectful behavior, here's a good subject:

Interesting an thanks for sharing.

Hi Deepak,
I wish you would expand on your statement "I suppose that the CIA will never learn - ".

Are you suggesting that the CIA should never have got involved in Tibet or that it should not have slowed down on it?

As far as I am concerned if the CIA did indeed provide assistance I say "good for them". That they scaled it down is what I regret.

What goes against the grain is the feeble response of most governments, when it comes to China it's all kid gloves.

India's reactions to the situation in Tibet was aptly summed up by Jug Suraiya in an article last week where he dubbed it as 'chicken' curry.

Nancy Pelosi had some harsh words to say recently in India, the next day Bush siad he would be attending the opening ceremony of the Olympics!

France is perhaps the only country that has voiced strong condemnation by stating that it will boycott the opening ceremony.

Regards
Dara

hi Dara,
Here you are - I have missed you! somehow I feel Tibet will re-emerge, stronger than ever ... my wish....
love to you,
~ Kate

Hi Kate,

Your greetings never fail to change my day for the better :)

Wouldn't it be wonderful if your wish for Tibet were to actually come about. The world would indeed be moving towards becoming a compassionate and caring society then.

Personally I think Tibet is on everyone's back burner till someone occassionally rattles a few tin cans in public and everyone takes notice for a while. I wish we at least here, would give it more of our attention.

I wonder what people think about this talk by the EU of boycotting the opening ceremony and whether it makes a difference?

Love to you Kate,
Dara

I have always wanted China to leave Tibet alone. I can answer Dara's questions about the Olympics. The pollution is going to be really tough for China. I wouldn't be surprised if many countries only let their athletes come to China and quickly leave after their performances. It will be really hard for the American kids. When we boycotted the Russian games many athletes could not wait for four more years to participate. I believe whether USA athletes go to China it will have to be their personal choice as Bush will not keep the USA out of the Olympics. We owe China too much money and they could call in their trillion dollar loans.
