Time is not the one dimensional, linear phenomena that we consider it to be.
In the higher dimensions it is a three dimensional element.
"Betsy" S.
Yep, I agree. So if one were in-love (or better yet, Love), then they would not be 'running out of time.' I suppose that this love could be love for one another or love for God and if we loved, then we would have time left or no time. So timeless would be as Spirit.
But then, I heard that "love was made for us." And if I feel nothing (hate nor love), then I think that I will ceased to exist, as I am in this physical world. It would be a way to escape - I guess? But Love will probably not allow it this way, as it seems we have to first love not only God but one another, then we can be free of it's grasp or this physical world.
But I wonder if God were to stopped loving, assuming God does love, as I believe and what everyone says is so about God, then what happens when God neither loves nor hates? Will God cease to exist? What will be left after this emotion? Nothing or the void? Maybe this is when everything goes back home into the point or before creation? Yes, that must be it, to first love so that the parts can unite as one, then IT can rest and not be, as in silence.
Just thinking out loud, as there seems to be a plan and everything will be as planned and we cannot do much anything about it, but maybe delay or pick the time (so-to-speak). But as Deepak has mentioned in the past (more or less), such as I wonder if we are also participating as co-creators and ponder upon what we are allowed to create or permitted to do. So if we are one with God, I suppose one would not be asking, as it wouldn't matter anyway....what do I know! It just gets more confusing, but fun to think about.
Thanks for asking Deepak, as I also heard, "running out of time," and it really bothered me. Like I wondered if I was going to die or something else. So if I cannot love, I guess my time is up and then I suppose I will either be reborn to try again or dissolve into nothingness, as I was not alive in the first place. Sort of like being dark with no light, as the true Light cannot be dark, so it never dies or separates and what is dark is not here anyway, but only an illusion such as, all this is but a reflection of God or the Light (or maybe Love, as the Bible and Spirit and sages say) and the rest is not real, nor worth time, which is not real anyway. Humm....it seems I am only talking in circles :-)

What I think...
A few years ago, I was rushing to one of your seminars together with a friend. We didn't want to be late.
It so happened that we passed you on our way, as you were peacefully strolling to the same seminar :) It was the first time I realized that... time is an individual matter.
Letting go of individuality means transcending time, it means stepping into the part of me which is eternal. It happens so easily in moments of beauty and love. It happens as easily nowadays in moments of pain and resistance. The timeless being is always awake, regardless of what is being projected.
But time is a notion that makes me smile. It is like a playful invention - and it must have brought as much joy to the heart of divinity as the invention of the wheel, or the moving pictures :) Time is something one can play with if one stays awake, stretch it, stop it, turn it around, mold it... the important thing is to remember it's a toy, one's own invention.
Just thinking more about "Time." My son called me a few days ago, early in the morning for which he rarely does at that time, as he usually calls on the weekends when I am missing him really badly - I just wait until he wants to talk and call me and sometimes that can run for months and months! Anyway, he called me to warn me about some trucking issue he had heard about, so he wanted to make sure I had plenty of can food in case the stores would not be stocked. It was cute. So I told him I just went grocery shopping and have enough to last for a month.
Anyway, even though we spoke briefly, my son said he had read on the internet in several places to where people are projecting 2012 as being the end of the world; at which time, I told him I had heard that too. Then we discussed what the end of the world might be, as we both came to an agreement that it would be enlightenment of all mankind at the same time, with no one being left out or behind. That's what I think Revelations is about, as the end is really the beginning.
Love, Char
The creative Ones have time at their side.
It seems they have all the time in the world, cause when they are immersed in their creation, time stands still :)
Love, Mieke
Hi. That was very nice. The phrase "creation of an artificial observor" caught my eye, though. I seem to do that inorder to reason but yikes! sometime perhaps you can elaborate. Yours,
Maybe the end of time will be like the big bang and it will start all over again, if that's what the One wants. But it seems like what I read in the Bible, the One does not want to do it this way again, but has something more special or more evolved in mind; such as living in more of a consciousness state, rather than in a physical state, to where we could then create all the things that are more towards love and light.
My son had a vision 10 years ago, after he asked God to show him His glory. Everyone was pure golden light and communication was by thought only and everyones thoughts were love. And then the vision faded into gray, as the veil was lowered. So I can see this could be a reality, as soon as everyone reaches the state of pure love, since this would be the only way to function in a heaven such as this.
...still thinking out loud....
Love, Char
So it seems impossible that we could all be enlightened by 2012. Therefore, maybe this is the part to where a critical mass is reached and the enlightened bring the rest of us with them - all at the same time. For example, if there was enough light, then there would be no darkness and critical mass could do this. Deepak has talked about a critical mass many times, which is why I use the term, as I can only ponder upon exactly what that would be like and what he meant.
Love, Char
What caught my thoughts.... "if you're in love time stops - intoxication of love allows you to feel unity of consciousness."
Could unity of consciousness mean - the two of you become one in Spirit? If so... then i'm in love with "Love".

What I think, dear Deepak, is this is how you should always communicate -- by voice. Your very deep compassion always present in your voice. It is like an ocean, that carries your thoughts to others, to nourish and heal their thinking and lives. Your voice is a subtle music that supports your thoughts, and allows them to penetrate where there might otherwise be resistance.

Dear Char,

I like what you said here, your on the right track. It takes courage to come to the ultimate negation of all things that are related to time or manifestation, and realize the fact that we are nothing but Eternal Space. None of this stuff will matter then. What is time anyways, but a measuring tool for the rate of change, which is the normal functioning of energy. Eternity (God or Soul) is changeless thus energyless, but time is an expression of the timeless. ~Kurt~
Hey Deepak
I like this video thing too.
I also think Aurora and Mieke, hi Aurora and Mieke, hit the nails on the heads. Time is a toy of our own individual perspective, all unique of course, and creativity allows us to play with it.
Time is a beautiful thing.

hi Derek,
I have felt the suspension of 'time' when I am at the park, and
I am down at the river's edge, and I see the flight of osprey,
and the way the spanish moss moves with the breeze,
how the owl turns its head when it spies me, and those eyes,
and how the rabbits like twilight to munch grass along the wooded path ...
I love time as the beauty of living in the present moment.
It's exquisite.
love,
~ Kate
Hey Kate
There is no better time than when we realize time is relative.
The contrast of a ticking clock is perfect against the backdrop of timelessness. like the sun lighting up raindrops.
peace and love

I'm sorry but I have never been able to figure out what DC is talking about...but this contribution is a real gem. First, who is tormented by time? Second, I may be be more open to DC if I thought that he had himself broken the barrier of time, but I doubt that is the case. Third, after discussing time DC states that there is no time, only eternity and that the measurement of eternity is what we experience as time. The whole talk can be summed up in DC's description for us of a picture he admits we can't see. Well, move the camera so I can see the picture and I'll be more willing to listen to a description of it. Similarly, show that you actually know something about time and I'll be more willing to listen to you try to talk about it.
Everything happens at the perfect time.
Transcript of Deepak's view on Time:
Time in my view is the continuity of memory using the ego as an internal reference point. When we break the barrier of ego, the self-image, we break the barrier of time.
So time is the separation that occurs when there is the differentiation of our consiousness into observer, process of observation and that which is observed. And then how we measure our observations through the creation of an artificial observer gives us the experience of time.
In fact, there is no time. There is only eternity. The measurement of etenrnity is symbolized as the measurement of time. And, of course, how we metabolize our experience of time, is the way our bodies undergo entropy. So if we are running out of time, we literally run out of time biologically. People who say "I'm running out of time", they have speeded up biological clocks. Faster heart rates [inaudible]. And they drop dead of premature heart attacks. They run out of time.
If you are in love time stops. The intoxication of love allows you te experience unity consciousness and timelessness. If you are bored, time drags. And entropy is the metabolism of time.
I have a lot more to say about the nature of time , but I'm running out of time. So, see you next time, or let me know what you think.
Hi Deepak (Carolyn & Felicia!) ~
I love the video blogs and hope you do more!
Miss u all,
Grace
Deepak,
Thank you for the invitation to consider "time." Time is a wheel with outer rim and inner core or eye. Eye sees and knows time as flow and motion. Body sees and knows time as blood and bone. Brain sees and knows time as lovemaking between earth and sky. Feet see and know time as dancing NOW as spring. Time is alive and moving and I respond from heart of body.
A song that I carry or one that carries me comes through:
I walk your sacred ground
Healing waters I have found
Rivers flowing strong and deep
Wash away the tears
Mother I hear your cry
I feel your every sigh
I have come to comfort you
Around the Medicine Wheel.
Yesterday I was at my river and a tree singing its song through pinkish blossom called to me. As I acknowledged its branched flowering my mom who passed away in January was suddenly there with me. This song also came busting through when I was offering her burial ceremony. Time is a container, a space, which we behold through eye, body, brain and feet.
Deepak, how does your eye, body, brain and feet welcome this turning time of Spring?
Love,
Trish~~
Mr Chopra,
Thanks for this short video. I think it's great that you're offering us useful philosophical questions in this more informal and personal format.
The only problem for me is that I thought you were speaking a little bit too quickly at times and I found it hard to hear what you were saying. Maybe there are other people at Intentblog who don't have English as their first language and who may also not be so accustomed to hearing an Indian accent?
I would be immensely grateful if you could take a bit more time next time, and speak more slowly and clearly!
With kind regards,
Martien,
Thank you so much for the transcript! It's very nice to hear Deepak speak but it's also nice to be able to review what he said in written form as well. It's helped me understand the material better. Also, I have a friend who is partially deaf who likes to visit this site and I'm sure he's going to find your transcript very helpful.
Cheers!
Deepak,
I like what you said about time, and I totally agree, and I have only had that kind of realization about time once and it occurred as I was finding myself in a situation where a car (driven by a teenager surprise surprise) had steered into my lane and was coming to hit my car head-on--I was extremely terrified and felt like I left my body for a few seconds and had a few weird revelations about life as well as time. That is so interesting that you say that time is a psychological construct. I am going to rewatch you post.
P.S. I like the video posts you are doing and I also really like the red glasses.
Well, I will try to describe the "revelation" that I had--it was the feeling that what we perceive as long periods of time like say 20 years just "seemed" to be that way but that in the scope of things it was so much shorter like it could be one day--that I had only "perceived" it as being 20 years. (not sure if that agrees with what you are saying) but I think it does. But also at the same time having that realization made me feel that a single day had sacred value and that it was not just an irrelevant drop in the bucket of time but rather had great significance--that in some way time was a gift.
sorry if this sounds weird--it is the best I can explain it.
Aloha Deepak
I hope we see more video postings. I love the theme of a thousand eyes of compassion. We are Blessed with your presence. love patty
For a very thorough explanation of time go to the website: Shift of the Ages - Chapter 16. After you google this title, look for the listing with the address www.timstouse.com/Earth Changes/ShiftOfTheAges/16.htm. If you enter the www.timstouse, you will go to the home page instead of to the correct chapter.
Paragraphs 4 and 5 are especially concise, but the whole article is most valuable.
"Time as we know it, either measured by the speed of Light or even the second itself, are all functions of simple vibration in movement, in this case harmonics of the number 144."
I do hope you have the opportunity to read this explanation because it is so well done.
Best Wishes,
"Betsy" S.
Last night, my daughter, Anjalee, and I were having this very conversation about "time"...as we were talking on the phone, our energies were so focused on the subject, time was no longer part of the experience, it was just the topic:)

oh yea.. *happy holi people*
but yea, about Time.. I've been reading this book "power of now" by Eckhart Tolle.. and I assume Deepak chopra has read it too coz there was a review by him...
so yea, awesome book... and perhaps a very essential thing for me coz of my strong attachment in general to the past events and also coz its become a problem for me as I cannot forgive someone for something that happened in the past..just cannot forget it!! it doesn't go awayy and bothers me so much that I've stopped living...and to think of it, its no ones fault!
but neways.. I agree that past is just memory and perhaps the way out of it is to not think about it... and it will solve countless problems that people have.. I remember once as a kid I was thinking how "now" is wht i have, and i cannot comprehend past or future... I think if people never knew about clock time, they would never think about past or future -- it is definitely a construct.. not something that exists.
Deepak: I too feel this is a nice mode of interaction. And thanks for the stimulating choice of subject. I've only recently been in touch with time as a psychological, artificial construct, and it has been deeply freeing to understand it as such.
Just today I was thinking about Time. When I am in the moment of Now, I have no past and no future. I am able to get a brief glimpse of who I Am and know myself, not as my past experiences and Ego would have me think. I realize that all of my thoughts and hence, experiences are based on my past, vastly limiting me. By being in the moment of Now, I open myself to unlimited potential. I notice that every thought I have comes into being, especially the most fleeting! The only way to broaden my experience is to completely let go of the past and future, which really don't exist, and be in the present moment. But because I only know what I know based on the past, I try my best to ask only for Love, Peace, Joy, Abundance and Freedom, letting the Universe decide what will bring me this. It has been an amazing journey!
Love & Light,
Janis
I just realized that sometimes one has to apply what one knows about time to separate the Gift from the Giver of the Gift, in the advent of Right Knowledge.
What I know about time is that a soluble solution of sugar water will form crystals over time - separating the Sugar from the Sugar Water.
I had no idea such things work backwards like this, that is to say, that sometimes there may arise a need to separate things instead of viewing a wholeness.
Boy, do I feel like a dope. Lost my way there for a moment. Thankfully my favorite words of Milarepa came to mind - "All blame I cast to the wind and upward turn my face". He has a way of sending me back where I belong.
By the way, maybe Jesus knew how to re-dissolve his sugar crystals. Why not?
Happy Easter!
Time or no time, it doesn't matter if you are not averse to one thing, attracted to another.
What could it possibly matter but that we want it to go away. Killing time, as it were.
I like eternity.
I don't like morbidity.
And then I'm trapped.
But underneath it all, it's OKAY either way.
Watch Into the Wild, a great expose on time.
Kid grows up in the Magic Bus, learns some vital stuff that he knew he needed to learn. Then it's time to go home. He knows he's an adult. He decides.
But he discovers that he can't. Because the river is swollen--the season changed--and he's trapped.
So now it's time for him to grow DOWN.
Growing up is easy compared to growing down.
I think eternity begins to occur when you're continually learning things you didn't know you needed to learn.
Saying that "Time does not exist, there is only Eternity" is like saying "Ego does not exist there is only Consciousness", and on some level that is very true.
Even though we often get too focused on time and ego, it is important to be what we are and recognize the gift of this experience of time and ego.
Dear Deepak,
You are right...time does not exist. I have witnessed on more than one occasion to ability to change the "past" and expereince the "future".
I love how you put my awareness into words. It is comforting to know that I am not crazy...out of my mind...perhaps LOL
If I could put my experience into words it would be that despite an appearance (memory, thought or physical)I stay open to all possibilities. In this "state" of being we witness "Miracles".
Are they truly miracles? I don't know, but I do know that living life this way is a blessing.
I look forward to you expanding on your awareness of the concept "time" and maybe your thought on how to "overcome" time.
I think you need to lose the glasses and show off your charming brown eyes, yes in deed I do! and as for time.. made up by you and me, for what? So we would have sense of how long..If you can under stand that than you are the messiah, or at least the reflection of such.
But really you have the sweetest eyes, show them off that twinkle warms my heart : )
