Preserving Purity
As a society we live in an Arena of social causes. There are social causes related to Poverty, putting the handicap section of the society in the main steam, rehabilitation societies & sheltering orphanages, giving aid to earthquake ridden and other natural calamity stricken people and an 'N' amount of causes related to women....
from not killing female foetus to educating them, helping mother's and her child to take nutrition and empowering them into the political scene by setting some percentage for them...... and for fighting for it all the day long. But amid all these causes there is some red warning line being created in our society to which although, we all face it, in our day to day life, but have seriously failed to acknowledge it. We know its upsetting our interactions, our life with the Institution we call marriage -' A Family'. The problem is the danger when we look at our children. The new generation of human race.. And the reason is we - our own mistake, our own progress of material world, high tech communications, putting television, Cinema, & all kinds of information and emotions right in front of our children. It is cluttering their brain with so much of information regarding topics, they don't need to look at and emotions they don't need to feel. When parents get astonished when their kids ask them astounding questions and talk about getting what they want so that they look great amongst their peers. When a girl of 4 coming from a simple family, asks her Mother questions about the anatomy of an adult female body.........is innocence not lost there......... when a girl of nine pushes her mother for getting her upper lips done......[and we all know, if they cannot do it easily they use emotional blackmail and as also our families have not more than two kids, so parents eventually succumb to their wishes!]. Can we see the quality of information all this is leading in those small human brains! And that eventually broadening their cravings, desires and requirements. That's were the quote 'Ignorance is bliss' needs to work. We are only letting the new, upcoming human race into the roller coaster were they will forget what innocence is at the age of 2 or what shyness is at the age of 4! and that means all these pure and innocent words will only remain in books to be read by someone in some future!
Isn't it high time, we the most gifted of all living creatures understand in which direction our human race is going. Isn't high time we start drawing our lines, know and understand where to stop.....to show the coming race of humans that living is important and we are not in this world to only amass every kind of 'Entertainment'!......
where will this all lead to?
Isn't this a cause to understand that in process of making our children knowledgeable, forcing them to acquire all kinds of fancy skills we have killed their innocence.
Just to see that our children stand out bright and brainy we are responsible to curtail their growth - a childlike life in them!
Isn't it a Big cause to work at?
to work towards our future human race?
to study it, understand and plan something out before everything in future for humans becomes more complex?..........
For the future of our identities, for our children, whom we love so much & to save them
To help them store their own sanity of being a child.....................!
Lots more to say on this...............many examples could be given..........seen........and read..........and understood...........
but then its more necessary to start ..........
to think..........so that we can preserve innocence, purity, simplicity
and hope
that we still get babies in future and not grownup adults in their mother's womb!

Yes, I agree. The "Age of Innocence" appears to be long gone. It is sad to see that more and more children are accepting as role models very poor examples from the myriad entertainment avenues publicized through the media. Too many display no behavioral traits that are worth emulating. If parents do not set good examples for the children and fail to communicate standards that are expected of them, then the children are set loose to pursue a field of limitless, harmful behavior patterns.
Yes, it is high time that we (society) started drawing our lines and decide where to stop.
How this might be accomplished I do not know. The controllers of the broadcast media have as their motive, "Follow the money - wherever it may lead us".

The story of a young girl in Florida who died having breast implants at only a tender age, (17 or 18) truly impressed me on the problems that modern young teenagers are facing. Peer pressure is always staggering to contemplate, but I did notice while watching a Hooters contest the other evening on some network, ESPN or the like, that none of the winners were women who had used breast implants, but all appeared to be quite natural looking.
I commend the judges for that decision at least as you could tell which women used breast implants.
But for teenagers to go to physicians for plastic surgery at such a young age is a sad commentary on our education system and our value system.
It is a serious problem that good parents should address, the power of the media and Wall Street to influence young children to do so much harm to themselves so early in life.
But unfortunately, each one of us can only comment, give advice and air our thoughts, but none of us has the power or should have the power to control youngsters in a free nation. Parental power ends when a child reaches maturity, and parents can only advise and counsel. Otherwise, we live in a dictatorship and that is not a true American ideal at all.

Kkomal,
Thank you for your passionate post. I hear your plea of heart and mind because I share your feelings and thoughts. We live in a world gone crazy -- over the edge of sanity.
There are so many issues effected by one cancer. So many dramas and diseases. They are like never ending spokes of a wheel. We could get caught up in this wheel of despair and spin out of control. But we don't need to.
As women we can find center and act from this inner place of peace. As women we can make positive contributions through nurturing qualities that people and systems are starving for. We can listen to our hearts, minds and bodies and make daily choices that contribute new life force. Chaos inside is chaos outside...so we change the inner music. Healing is inside out.
There is no more time for "politics and business as usual." We stand on new ground offering new and bright solutions.
Please write again!
