Deepak,
I think you touched on many good points. I was thinking about laughing, and how it is a high frequency vibrational response, which can cause other entitles in the vicinity to resonate at the same vibration, and often can be a release of tension or serve to release tension that comes from the “drama”.
In Infinite Play one of the characters makes the point that "Ego is really the butt of the divine joke.” We have a lot of fun with that insight. Here we have this finite mind thinking it is operating in secret, isolated from the rest of consciousness. So little does it know.
The escapades and antics of the ego provide the universe with entertainment especially when we can see the reality behind the appearances that the ego is consumed and enthralled by; thus producing a source of e-motion and experiential undulation in the grand production we call life.
Speaking of production the State of Michigan is giving back a 40 - 42% cash credit on all dollars spent on film and video production in the state, which is a sort of a gift to investors for bringing work here. Seems some production companies are canceling production in other states to move here. If anyone is interested click my name and it will lead you to a phone number for Motor City Film Works and Motor City Film Studios and we can hook you up.
Yes, film studios are being built here in Detroit. Seems we have all this cheap empty infrastructure, excellent scenery and locations for fabricating reality to be captured on film, plenty of unemployed individuals hungry for work, and able to feed the demand for crew, extras and bit parts.
I recall something about the building of light, in Detroit both noun and verb, I wonder if this is the spark.
We have something else going on Sustainable Self contained Mini Cities that overcome oil addiction. I guess the high oil prices are a blessing in disguise that will put humanity in a position to survive and adapt to what is coming.
This is the story of industries that destroy themselves due to their own greed, the comedy of their being their own worst enemy, just like the ego.
Oops wrong link, above try the one below.
You know the story the drama builds to a crescendo, seemingly no way out, utter despair and then the miracles come, obstacles transcended, everyone is relieved and happiness and laughter abounds.
I had been waiting for the right group of evolved new consciousness investors to come along, some Angels. The first have seemingly arrived. Although nothing is certain, probability is looking that within a year we will begin to release the world from bondage to oil at a very accelerated pace. There is this new device and new systems to be put into place.
What does this mean? The oil industry will need to change depreciation schedules for oil infrastructure. Not to worry the trucks and jets could still be using it for a while which I think means an 80% reduction in demand. But who knows what inventions, will be appearing on the horizon to usher in The New Beginning. Maybe Obama should adopt that as the new theme as New Consciousness President.
More angels are being sought to create Heaven on earth, by the way, for those that get the divine impulse, if it doesn't come you must not be connected to the source sometimes the loss of connection is due to ego impediment. Which is fine, we want to keep the ego filtered out; the machinations of ego simply a waste energy and attention.
Dear Richard,
Thank you, again, for your words of hope and your uplifting message.
Best Wishes,
"Betsy" S.
Laughter is the release valve on the pressure cooker of life.
Deepak,
Thanks for the question and your thoughts. Humor feels like it bubbles up from an underground source in response to something reflected in my outer environment. That reflection is received/perceived through the senses. Humor is a life line of light heartedness that we share one with another. It's a priceless gift.
Trish~~
Your welcome, Betsy.
The light activated crystal skull is interesting just follow the link, a play of light.
Hmmmm, I have two computers on my desk - one won't play the video, one won't play the audio so I don't really know what Dr. Chopra has to say about laughter and mores the pity. Still, the Universe is giving me a nudge and a wink so I'm 'embracing uncertainty' here by commenting anyway!
Laughter is a vent; humor is a powerful healing tool. Those "meaningless darts thrown in the dark room of life" (thanks Gotham!) can pierce unexpected places. You can use them in a myriad of ways to dig out of the dark and find the light. Laughter is light radiating from the soul.
Besides, it's just easier to laugh, profound personal insights or not. Things are not always funny but if you can laugh anyway, you're going to be all right.
Now, I'm going to be embracing unemployment if I don't get back to work....
When someone is being abused, oppressed, tormented, etc. laughter has no home and is inappropriate.
Laughter is a joke and no different than seriousness, as one is light and the other is dark.
Char!
PS: And who knows which one is which .... both are just emotional garbage and are not real and will not survive.
PPS: I think it is disrespectful to laugh and I don't think God is really laughing. If God was laughing, would not God also be crying? Does God cry? Isn't God above the duality of both? I hate comedies! So I suppose that labels me as an ignorant creature?!?@#! Seriousness is foolish as well, so I think no feelings at all is best, such as neutral .... no laughing and no crying....no nothing. The imagine of a Rock is coming to mind :-)
Yep, I know I said the word hate, so I can see I need to learn not to hate comedies either, as well as not loving comedies. To feel nothing - then where would a comedy be without our emotions? Where would Love be? Would Love even exist if it were not for us? Nope, I don't think so. It's all just made up and means nothing after the ALL is gone. NOTHING....

"China stands still to remember quake victims
3 days of national mourning begin as death toll rises to more than 34,000"
I wonder if God is laughing or crying? Really, when is it appropriate to laugh? Where do we draw the line? What is funny to one person, may not be funny to another. If I think it's funny, then my intent is not to hurt or is it? So one goes back to having NO feelings, as life just is, i.e., we are stuck participating in this world regardless of why or how we got here. We can choose to be in the world, but not of it - maybe kind of like a robot, so we don't get jerked around all the time.
However, I can see what Deepak is saying, but may be laughter is personal and individual to each of us, such as crying is personal, as well as pain and pleasure.
I don't think seriousness is any different than laughter and I certainly to not think sadness is any less enlightening than laughter. It's all a choice. Personally, I think comedy is stupid and it does not make me laugh.
Maybe peoples definitions are different for seriousness? I think to be seriousness is similar to not allowing any emotion to imprison us, sort of like just being. But also not to feel anything such as pain and pleasure, nor participate in an act such as laughing and crying. I cannot imagine these emotions surviving, as they are too unstable, as well as manipulative and are surely not real. It's just more of the same - of all the illusions that we are having to deal with. It just never ends and we just keep playing the game and making stuff up as we go.
That's what I'm thinking at the moment. Yep, I think I have a little bit of an attitude issue, but it's me right now at this very minute. I suppose, I don't like the game that I am in and to disengage, one must first stop and not participate. Then, one can start creating again ... anew and fresh.
Really, it drives me crazy to envision God laughing! And I hope God is having fun!
Maybe God does think death is funny? Because what is real is eternal (i.e., life) and life cannot die, but illusions die everyday, everyhour, everyminute.
So I guess in this case, seriousness would be funny or stupid. I am now imagining GOD watching our plays and just having a jolly old time. I suppose that would be the ultimate show with a front row ticket for as long as we make our movies. I suppose we enjoy putting on a good show.
Hi Char,
I just have a different take. If we are alive, we are human. To be fully human, we need to feel: laughter, tears, joy, sadness, the full gambit. To live a full life as God intended us to, we need to experience ALL our emotions, even if those include rage and despair as well as joy and peace.
I think Shakespeare said it well when he wrote man's "glassy essence, like an angry ape, plays such fantastic tricks before high heaven as make the angels weep; who, with our spleens would all themselves laugh mortal."
In other words, God finds us hilarious. The angels may weep at our stupidity but I think God just sits back and smiles. I know I've been the butt of more than one cosmic joke and, while I can't say I enjoyed it w/ the same abandon, at least I was able to laugh along after a period of reflection.
Life in this realm is difficult and hard to comprehend. Do I understand why a loving God or an impartial Universe sits back while mankind destroys itself? No, I don't and don't pretend to. Some say 'karma' but I'm not so sure that explains it all. Some say "life is a tapestry" but certainly the back side of the rug is full of knots and pulled threads and looks like a mess.
Yet I don't think anything God permits or the Universe sends is meaningless. Everything matters (deeply) even though (philosophically speaking) none of it does! I think the best we can do while we are here is be kind, be filled with grace towards all, and be as vibrant as we can be. Perhaps in this way we can lead others to the light and maybe even help heal Mother Gaia.
I think we need to laugh ... loudly ... and often ... at everything and at nothing. Laughter is contagious: it dispells pain and dissipates anger. God knows this world needs that desperately.
I'm a person who's known way too much pain. Anyone who can help me laugh - no matter how goofy I might think it -- is doing me a great service. And for that I'm appreciative, whether "the packaging" is my cup of tea or not.
I suppose when one can laugh at their abusers, then maybe they have arrived at the place where God is...
I wonder if God was laughing when Jesus was nailed to the cross?
So I tend to agree with LL ... kind of, if I can picture a loving God laughing at the children of light as they create wars, darkness, & ignorance who are suppose to know better, for they are creatures of perfection - same as the Creator, so I've read and heard. The only way I can see God laughing is as a parent who laughs at something silly a child does or says, while they are still experiencing and learning as they grow into themselves.
I feel that divine humor is the same as human humor appropriate in time and place as perceived by us. The only difference is that source doesn't need to perceive, because it sees all... and is within us too... god laughs when we laugh and cries when we cry and helps when we call out for help...
laughing at oneself is imperative to being at ease with our egos and selfs... I don't see humor as a denial of ego, as much as an acceptance of that part of us which wants the limelight all the time... when we poke fun at the ego we acknowledge its existence and in a sense make it work for us by raising it to a level of self-acceptance.
I can't wait for the humorous sequel that lampoons Islam! That's should be a riot

I watched a YouTube video today of babies laughing. It was absolutely beautiful and made tears stream down my cheeks I laughed so hard.
I think laughter is pure God..........

I agree with you desribtion of Humor. You have another new book out....I ask myself how do you write that fast. It took me three years to write my first book and I just finished my second book that took me another 3 years to write.
Do you write your own books or do you have Ghost writers that write for you on your ideas?
I just wonder where on earth do you take the time between seminars, classes, traveling, family time and personal time to write so many books?????
