Just for laughs, D.C. ?
Seen Mi'Lady North lately?
Forgive and forget, Funny Man?
Always comes 'round when round it goes.
Not that any more than 10 people will read these b.s. comments, ya think?
You could play the magic man and make #1 thru #5 disappear!
Please, excuse Uncle Tree.
It's Monday for sure!
Or is it?
Ms. Shirley Knot?
Anybody home?hello, hello?
You know, Deepak obviously has a very strong character and/or is very secure, as a firmly grounded root of a very beautiful flower in rich soil.
Anyway, The Love Guru is actually (now or has been) giving advice on belief.net in his group on-line discussion and it's hilarious, as well as wise. I could not help but get caught up in it today as I had time to kill, but surely I did restrain myself somewhat. I enjoyed the laughs regardless of who wrote the posts, but the replies sounded like someone who is a real comic (pain) relief doctor - so to speak.
Well time to go home and have wine and skip the twice daily meds.
Love, Char
Wow, this is tough
If I go to Love Guru, I insult Hindus,
If I don't go, I insult Deepak for not trusting him that the movie is not insulting.
From previous movie promotions, it seems that they didn't end up doing very well at the box office, I hope this breaks the trend.
Again, I don't want to come across as insulting, but bottom line if a Meyers movie is funny, I could care less about the subject matter, it will sell itself.
We will see soon enough everybody,
Cheers,
Steve
I think it's great how spiritual truth is brought together with humor. I will watch the movie and look forward to seeing it. This movie is needed, it is of our time and will bring about balance.
I had a simular idea after the following expereince: A person came to me with a problem....we discussed it and it disappeared. For about 3 years the problem was gone but then it came back. I asked God why this problem was brought again to my attention and "he" said: "Tell her to set the clock at 6 :00 a.m. and to go outside in front of her house in her PJ's the next morning". "Tell her to make a turn to the left and two turns to the right, jump up and down and clap her hands...and she will be free from the problem". I first thought:" That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard". "That can't be God talking to me". But then I thought about it....and told her that it is done...and it was. I understood the meaning behind what God was telling me...but did visualize it and thought it was quite funny how we believe that we have to do certain rituals in order for change to come about.
Those that are free are not offended...those that are offended are not free.
It doesn't really surprise me that a religious group would respond in this way. If you had been mocking Islam then some finatic might have even come and cut off your head.
It is not surprising that less and less people every year choose to follow organised religion when they behave in such an out of date fashion.
Love

Oops ... it's beliefnet.com and not what I said above. Just thought I should correct that....
There are people that will get offended by anything. There are people that will get themselves offended on purpose. Common sense would advise that a person who feels that something (a movie in this example) might offend him (or her) should avoid experiencing the said thing. So they simply should not go to see the movie. But no, they probably will, just to get offended even more. Well, of course they have a right to do that. But it is not very sensible.
I'm really glad that Deepak responded to the uproar with the fact the people in question have NOT seen the movie. How can anyone be insulted by something they haven't seen? I really did wonder about whether or not the people who were complaining had... Ridiculous really. I haven't read the "Satanic Verses" either so I don't make comments about it's validity or non-validity toward Islam... why, indeed can anyone say something is 'insulting' or such without even seeing the whole picture is beyond me...
Then I thought about the "Life of Brian" which really takes the mickey out of Jesus and Christianity - it's hilarious... I see humor as combating 'dogma' and that being healthy... it's unhealthy if it 'dehumanizes' others...
People with a healthy perspective see humor as a way to lighten the 'egoic' load... lighten up and we become more enlightened.
