Dear Friends, with God's grace, your blessings and well wishes we are recovering from the accident step by step. What do you think of "Towards a Golden Age -- A Wisdom based Global Economy?".
1. The synchronised combination of the Fuel, Food and Finance crises -- 3Fs -- is accelerating disruptive change across the world. This disruptive change is amplified by anytime, anywhere communications and is bringing about a metamorphosis in humanity's approach towards each other and the efficient management of key resources including human talent, skill-sets, energy, raw materials and waste.
2. The age of ignorance is coming to an end as humanity realises that every action has a reaction and all production, distribution and consumption has an externalised and internalised cost associated with it. Not all costs can be represented in profit and loss terms immediately but become evident in quality-of-life and financial terms over decades. The consequences are asymmetrically reversible. It may take a few years to cut down a forest to grow food for fuel and decades to grow it back.
3. The 3Fs and their consequence, super inflation, is the result of the mismanagement of expectations. The present socio-economic trajectory, which is ultimately incapable of sustaining six to seven billion people on the planet at median living standards of the West, is going to be drastically modified as false expectations are confronted and replaced with entirely new and holistic ones.
4. Asymmetric threats are multiplying and so are asymmetric solutions given the ingenuity of humanity for re-invention and innovation when pushed into a corner.

Buddha.me is a little more interesting.
sometimes recovery is also a process of evolution
At some point you let go of the boat as you push it from the shore. Whether you are in it or simply pushing it off for someone else. It is in that moment that everything happens.
When you stop pushing.
derek
Yes Derek, actually I was doing that yesterday. When you stop pushing, the wind takes over, we set the intention with tiller and jib, but it is the wind that powers like the spirit.
Sailing has a lot to do with resistance and non-resistance and the balance between.
Sometimes we capsize for fun pushing things to their limit. With sail pointing down instead of up it would seem that we are stranded and hopeless, with only water and sky, but with a gravity assist and the lever principle we are soon upright again, and the world has capsized but can be brought upright again using gravity and leverage.
I wonder how long will it take us to invent and implement wind powered sailing cargo vessels with "Solar" sails?
Only as long as it takes us to want it. We can create anything in what ever time frame we choose. The only limitations are those set by ourself.
I dream of building an island, built out of everything green that is free to move about our vast oceans. Big enough to be a sustainable ecosystem. I picture an iceberg but built out of recycled, something, that floats. Maybe the size of a small city. Most of which would be under water of coarse. I picture my bedroom having a twenty foot window looking into the ocean.
I imagine if we had no one dreaming that big then it would take forever for us to get anywhere.
I push my dream off the shores of my limited mind in hopes that someone less limited than me can create it.
Oh here's a fun one.
If Volvo comes out with an electric car it should be called the E-Volvo.

I liked this part from #9
"What we do to others we do unto ourselves. .... one-ness .... There is also the wisdom of another great spiritual poet -- Saadi -- to be considered:
"The human family is one body with many parts
Creations arising from one unseen essence
Any harm to any part summons an awakening
a dis-ease and a healing response from all parts
...." ~ DK
Love, Char
Oh, and I really like that picture!
Good to hear you and the family are getting better DK.
I had noticed you hadn't posted in a bit and was beginning to wonder.
God bless
DK, I think the article summed it all up in a comprehensive and concise manner.
First the knowing, then the being and doing.
CNN is doing a bit on Buddha's Warriors this Saturday and Sunday, interesting timing with Christiane Amanpour

Buddha Warriors "their weapon is Peace" it says
Peace really isn't a weapon, it is a side effect of wisdom, compassion and a holistic perspective.
Now light is a weapon, according to definition number 2, casting away the darkness of ignorance.
Weapon: 1) something (as a club, knife, or gun) used to injure, defeat, or destroy 2) a means of contending against another
Then again light and darkness don’t vie with each other, people as a result of the truths and fictions in their mind.
Derek, you are so creative! I like that. I also like what you said in #2:
"At some point you let go of the boat as you push it from the shore. Whether you are in it or simply pushing it off for someone else. It is in that moment that everything happens.
When you stop pushing."...that's awesome!
And #5, hmmmm...a green island floating in the ocean...I can dig that!
And, ha ha, "E-Volvo"...that is funny! I will have one of those, please.
Love, M:)
Hey Martha
Thank you
I am planting a seed.
I would like to see a fireworks display using all of our nuclear weapons.
It would take all of our courage as a nation.
The myth is that if we are disarmed we will be invaded. It is just the opposite.
Disarming sets a new standard of global responsibility.
Imagine if the money used to keep the military machine going were used to build green islands and electric Volvo's.
Or some something crazy like the most amazing and inspiring schools all over the world.
Global school
Students can communicate and even take class over the internet with other students all over the world. That's a lot better than training them to kill each other. Jut seems like common sense.
It is easy to dream
be more awake when dreaming and more dreaming when awake
peace comes from peace
