Intent - July 17, 2008
Posted by Intent at July 17, 2008 04:18 PM In regards to raz's video post; here ye go fair lady: "To survive as a human being is possible only through love. And, when Thanatos [in opposition to Eros] is ascendant, the instinct must be to reach out to those we love, to see in them all the divinity, pity, and pathos of the human. And to recognize love in the lives of others—even those with whom we are in conflict—love that is like our own. It does not mean we will avoid war or death. It does not mean that we as distinct individuals will survive. But love, in its mystery, has its own power. It alone gives us meaning that endures. It alone allows us to embrace and cherish life. Love has power both to resist in our nature what we know we must resist, and to affirm what we know we must affirm. And love, as the poets remind us, is eternal" (184-5). Hedges, Chris. “War is a Force That Gives Us Meaning.” New York: Public Affairs, 2002. Peace You got love a guy that will post to the world with out a top on! You cute and funny Craig : ) As for as a world revolution, I'm ready, you? Hi Craig, A revolution of the heart and Soul, love, Hi Tammy, good question! love to you, Thank you Kate, I love You too, that's one of my very favorites, you know. Heres one for you, your a special one Kate! Thank you Aloha Deepak and Everyone I am sure in the future, we will have the possibilities be part electronic. They are doing amazing things now.. for people with Parkinson's, they can place a chip in the person's brain, where the person can move as they normally did. People usually stop fighting when they are tired of being sick and tired. Then it is an inside job, the world is within. And if the planet blows up, another one will be. There are many wonderful promises with technology, don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Fear is False Evidence Appearing Real.. we are our own terrorist. Peace.... and pick up a electronic game:) Love patty Hi Deepak, Do you know Shaman, Sandra Ingerman? I like what she has to say: "Alchemists did not actually change lead into gold. The practice of alchemy was about changing lead consciousness into gold light consciousness. As we begin to change our consciousness and get in touch with the light inside of us we can effect great changes in our outer world. It is who we become that changes the world not what we do. All life is made of light. We are all light. Everything is light. In remembering this we can transmute everything in our outer environment and what we take in to pure healing light. All spiritual traditions teach that everything manifests on a spiritual level before manifesting on the physical. Where we have power right now to create change on the planet is by incorporating spiritual practices into our lives." Trish~~ Ref. 4: beautiful sentiment Kate. Billy Joel and the Carpenters ladies . . . Hmmmm (har har)! Indeed Patty. And that is a nice quote Trish. Wow Mississippi! Such thoughtful caring so unassumingly spoken. Wonderful! pax vobiscum Thank you Craig. I'm just so happy to have found you all :)))))) I love this talk of shadows they hold the mystery Peace be with you Amen! There is NOT miss understanding in love. You see, you love, you feel, you love, in hate, is love, the reasons we are, is love. Your Dark side is but love bellowing for (itself) LOVE. It must be imbraced with/in love, then only then is the, Love says to you, " look at all the horrible things in the world, in your heart, Look at the indifference in the world, Look at the pain and the suffering" then it asks " Do you love me, can you? " your heart is pure and the answer is always a faithful YES. In the light of everything seen and unseen, YES. AS Christ loved, without limit. Hi Kate Wouldn't it be great if everytime the war drums start pounding that all the plans are put on paper and then both sides have a bon fire and burn them. Love the other day Kate wrote on shadows (thank you Kate i love it :)... "the dance of shadows the shadow within and without us... Deepak shared the other day that 90 something % of the universe, including the universe inside of us--our DNA, is dark matter or unknown as to its nature. When I imagine pure consciousness, then choose who wants to dance? I do! :) love infinity, I'll dance with ya Missy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MsyqGdpAlAk Come play wit me, right here in the sunshine. Hi IBers, This post by Deepak continues his theme that the next crucial stage of evolution in human society needs to be to a wisdom-based society. Also, as I have asserted, the development and spread of very powerful technologies across the planet highlights the need for such an evolutionary step. With powerful technologies, mistakes can become tragic, and potential abuses can be downright horrific. If children are not taught the truth about the nature of the mind, social conditioning, how emotions work and how not to become a prisoner of their mind and their emotional states, you are going to see some of these potentials realized. The midwest powergrid was paralyzed for days a couple of years ago by a failure which was not a purposeful sabotage, but it was a wake up call. A few years ago in my city, a junior high school student paralyzed a county-wide library system with a simple hack he had learned as an inexperienced young programmer. I don't think we are at the point where someone in a cave can shut down NYC, as Deepak imagines in the video, but the point is nevertheless valid. I don't think we are going to to see the irrelevance of super powers, either. Particularly, China and the EU, with the US still having a big influence (although not as influential as from 1950-2000), will be the 21st century's big players. India will be viewed basically as a huge market that can be exploited, but not as a military superpower. India, as always, will kind of be in its own sphere. The West/China dynamic will be dominant. You can already see this by looking at popular culture. Just log into Sony's entertainment and watch pop music videos. The Chinese pop-rock movement is HUGE, bigger than even the American alternative rock scene now. The new Chinese entrepreneur class is redefining the world marketplace. We always put our hopes on the new generations. There was a time when it was hoped my generation (American and European Baby Boomers) would transform the world for the better. Now we pin our hopes on the coming generation - teenagers in Asia becoming the world's next businesspeople and popular culture icons. But we have to ask - what have we been doing that helps them make the transformation? Have we been teaching them to lead wisdom-based lives? Have we been teaching them to recognize and master their own thought processes and emotional states? Have we taught them to meditate? Have we taught them the principles of good citizenship in the world marketplace? Have we taught them to learn from history, or for that matter, taught them much history in the first place? Have we taught them what democracy is, how it nedds to be safeguarded by an aware, educated citizenry? Or have we just kind of passed on our own social conditioning and habits to them and hope they'll "do as we say, not as we did" ? The knowledge and skills to make the transition to a wisdom based society have to be taught and handed down, as a replacement for negative social conditioning such as tribalism, racism, classism, and greed. We have had mixed results with this at best. It is going to be very interesting. I am simply hoping to be able to watch from a safe distance, because my generation's time has largely passed. Now the new young people are going to redefine society by dealing with issues such as climate change, overpopulation, the collapse of the dollar, the spread of powerful technologies, and so on. These were problems we talked about as future probabilities, but did not deal with in my generation. Now they are clear and present dangers that the new young generation will not be able to avoid. I don't think we have done a particularly great job of preparing them for it, but - oh, well, - they have to grapple with these challenges as best they can, just as we had to grapple with the post-WWII world pretty much unprepared by what our parents had taught us. Here ya go baby, even the banks are going broke, not good, or maybe, very good. Forsooth, shadows are a strange phenomena are they not?!? They need both light and darkness to have any definition at all . . . Much like us, though wholly immaterial (well, photons and physical bodies are required though so . . .)! Interesting. You are right-on as always yogi-one! Holy moley Shakira's hips certainly do not lie Tammy!!!! Arrrrrrr! (He-he). peace all The irrelevance of Superpower(s) and the Wonder(s) of the Universe: The wonder of the Universe, the wonder of unconditional love: Dedicated to the Field: When no-one else can understand me And you're always there to lend a hand I'll guess I'll never know the reason why Yogi one, You are writing about what your generation should have done and didn't do. Okay. But now is now. Facing the facts is constructive, dwelling in guilt is not. What can we do right now to help the young generation handle the challenges? I don't know how old you are, but I think that the older generation is not at all out of the game, on the contrary, if you have gained wisdom, then now is the time to use it and pass it on. Why want to "watch from a safe distance" and how would that even be possible unless you move to some other planet? Why not get all you've got together, center yourself in the always-safe-place in your center and go and do what you have to do out there, together with everyone else including the young generation. They need you right now, not in the past and I'm sure you have lots to give. Don't you think so? Dear Aurora, I hope you will allow me to reply to your query also. This is the way I see it: There is a time for everything in the Universe. Would like to repeat the very wise words of Harbhajan Singh: "" the meaning of life: when a child when a youth when a middle ager when an old man We did the job teaching our children. We had songs like: "Teach the children well." I believe we did the best we could at that moment in time. Every generation has to find the wheel out by themselves again. And they are very capable to do so! Best regards to you What can we do? Ask for help when needed. Realize that EVERY problem IS your problem to fix. When you are with someone in spirit, bear there burdens, it is healing, at a level you my not even be aware of. Prayer is the very best helper, because pure goodness is transfer to and from each other. Yup. LEAVE guilt at the door of the heart, as it keeps reminding you of the things which are not true. Smile as often as you can because you represent LOVE, and when your light is shining bright, It heals. Realize that you are perfect in all ways, this is very important, JUST THE WAY YOU ARE! LOVE IT! even the stinky smelly dark side. LOVE( god whatever ) gave you you, and made you JUST as you ARE! Dear Mieke, thank you for telling us about your view. I agree that there comes a time in each person's life when one needs to let go of this life and prepare for the next chapter. But hey... let's not let that moment come sooner than due :) And also, let's see to it that we're not excusing our passivity, lack of courage, lack of passion or whatever other blocks there are in us human beings today, with another nice story. The way our world looks today... everyone has a story for why not, and I think our main job is to see through them, get together and do what needs to be done. Regarding your comment that every generation has to discover the wheel all over again, I'm not sure I understand what you mean, but I think it's obvious that human beings have the capacity to learn from each other and pass on wisdom. Hi Aurora, Well assuming you are talking to yourself :) Our generation has been bombarded with books on how to take life into your own hands, starting for instance with Wayne Dyer. Before that we had Dr. Spock who had it totally wrong as far as raising children was concerned. When I was 34, my father and mother told me that I was now at an age to stand on my own two feet and they would always be there when needed. I have raised my children the way I have been raised, with a lot of love and letting go of them so they were able to stand on their own feet. My children both are now in their mid-thirties, have children of their own and have set up their own circle of friends. We are always there, when really needed, but they have sorted most things out among themselves. They even tell us now and then that we do not fit in their way of life anymore. Doesn't matter to me. I know how to fill my own life. And so do many of my generation because our parents teached us so :) What parents and surroundings only can teach our children is to have faith in themselves, to believe in themselves. This is something you cannot tell them by words alone, you have to live it. When you are able to do that as a parent, you teach well :) Mieke, the trend in the Western societies has been to marginalize the older generation - and older people have participated in that view too. It is an attitude that comes from valuing certain things in life and not others. But in times like these we need to shed all such stories. Everyone is needed, everyone has a unique gift and a role to play. Good night to you and all! Goodnight Aurora, Do I sense some prejudice or judgement in your observations? The trend in Western societies is in the eye of the perceiver and so is your own responsibility. Do not judge, lest you be judged!! This is true, there is a new Super Power on the planet, the collective and some divine instigators. Hey Tammy--fun video!! thanks for the dance :) Aurora--thank you for asking the question--once we have found our power, what can we do to assist the least among us to realize their power? I thought of Jesus last night because he understood that those with the greatest need, the least among us, are the most open to hearing a message of change. And it seems like our world now is in a place where a radical change is needed. I wondered if the least among us would again be the source of this change. more thoughts to come... leaving work now!! Yes I have a job that gives me plenty of time to play. Cool! Peace Weapons I'm still waiting for that nuclear fireworks display. We are being more efficiently invaded through corporate take overs than by military means. Bombs are becoming a secondary weapon. Craig Yo, I gotta get my video working. Oh and sometimes I listen with the sound off. Intention dances around the eyes a bit just before it leaves to take on a life of it's own. Hello Miss Hippie peace comes from peace derek Politics split Open Lotsa good stuff going on here. Me gots to find me poetic touch . . . Jesus! Hmmm . . ., I am reminded of a video, and then I found the unlikeliest (is that a word?) redoer (uh-o two non-words/misspells in a row!) of the song (I am familiar with the Depeche Mode version). This is a pretty kewl newer version though! Lol! Click me name! peace OMG!!! Hooray for the day Craig, That song has more than a million hits. Are you in a very certain mood tonight? Wanna...wanna...get back in black? Talk about erreleevent--http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TgsoJrzplUI Too much time accumulated, your consciousness leveled to manifestation Look, the hunter is hunted Now, be aware of this last creative-power The surface you are walking on Dear Deepak, You are my Hero. But I have to politely disagree with you as your post seems to have underestimated Information Technology's security strength. Your mention of a freak case is a repeated occurence, and when it comes to breaking down some top military systems - my guess is it would be impossible to do so. You are right when it comes to the balance of this world. USA today is just as much the superficial superpower that Russia was 20 years ago. At the level of supreme conciousness we will all circle back to where we started with at the level of hacking each other's secrets - but breaking down Secure Systems has a long way to go. Lots of love. Sameer It really isn't that far off Sameer, it is just information, information I have, you have, we all know this stuff. Its in ever cell of your body, there is really nothing that is top secret anymore, thats what being awake means. Hello doodle man :) and I gotta say "Go Cards!" (cuz they have my heart, but a curse removed is such a sweet thing, so i'll secretly whisper ~go cubs~) or should i say Dood Man Mieke, I don't judge those values, I have even had them myself and they have served me well at the time. I used to think that the old generation should ideally step out of the way as soon as the newer one can stand on its own feet :) I don't see it in those terms anymore and thanks to the discussion with Yogi One and you, I notice that my set of values around this issue has changed. To me, this is not about needs. Yes, the younger ones don't "need" their parents anymore and in the West, the older ones don't "need" their children to be around either, at least not from a practical point of view. Society has institutionalized much of the service that was needed. Many people are living happily ever after in their own separate worlds. What it is about for me at this point, and I do think this is a trend in our evolution, is that it is now time to relate to each other not based on need like we did before, but on what we have to give to each other, across any constructed mental barriers like age, sex, social situation, geographic location, etc, etc, etc. Sharon, wow... you've really said it all in your videoresponse! I so very much agree with how you see change happening. And about what you write in #30 above... the "least among us that will be the source of the change" means, to me, that the change will happen in the places in us that we have deemed to be "least" :) Have a great day everyone! Ya I hear ya I'm a "Cards" girl too, BUT give that Billy goat a little scratch behind the ears, and we may have a Pennant. 100 years is to long. Hi Aurora, Your received your answer from Sharon and what a beautiful one :) Now go with that flow as I will do too and regularly will update my website to let you all know about my whereabouts if you are interested. For us older people to be able to do that on the Internet, is a great way to express ourselves. Not everyone has discovered it yet and that is one of the things I am doing, help older people to discover. There is so much one can do, if I had to sum it up I would need several pages :). I regularly read your website, I regularly read for instance North's website, Heather's blogsites, Harb's website, Deepak's websites and I can mention many more that have one and comment here once and again like Desh Kapoor with his interesting information :). And to not forget Kavita and I have forgotten so many. But have bookmarked them so can always find them back :) In that way we are connected and can learn from each other in a more balanced way. It is all about information and becoming transparent. Best wishes to all Like that video eh Keith! I thought it was rather different. Hello Sharon Dude man You can call me whatever you would like. Diablo calls me doodooman, which seems appropriate at times I call myself derek, which also seems appropriate at times yo derek Craig and Keith http://youtube.com/watch?v=jQcNiD0Z3MU I think Marilyn is cuter though and his band rocks. derek Keith if I remember right that video is when Kiss appeared on "HR Puffin' Stuff", the children's show on Saturday mornings when I was a kid. I wonder what they were puffin'? derek http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-yLYz6ejqw I knew about the Johnny Cash version, in fact that whole CD is pretty good; Cash's version of "Hurt" is off the hook! Right on Derek. peace HR Puffin Stuff witchy-poo and all! Poor Jimmy. That was my show man!!! Watching the video right now: what hath thee done to me derek I should be reading or trying to compose some poetry Now I am just watching HR har har har har O it is just the introductory song -- whew --! Har har peace Tammy--I'm there girlie! How liberating to witness a hundred year curse lifted. When the Red Sox swept the Cards a few years back, it really didn't hurt. The Sox and every Sox fan left the curse behind and Woosh! the power of a collective mind, huh. Aurora--omg, look how the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. One of us shares a thought, another expands it, and another and another. How exciting to discover the 'Whole' together! I love the meaning you took from "the least among us will be the source of the change". The least among us is inside of us... that shadowy, scary place. But really, if we can stop shaking long enough to just look at it, what might we find??? I love you heartphone OMG! I loved HR Pufnstuf. I had a huge crush on Jimmy. Thanks Dood for the video. I smiled the whole way through it. But Craig, I was ready to watch the whole episode. :) And Personal Jesus... Marilyn's got my audio vote (by a slight margin), but Johnny's got my video vote, and he's definitely cuter. Peace and lotsa love sharon I remember that game! I was In NYC, there to see those games in Boston! but it was over all to quick! anywho, that funny! ya I do love baseball, my boys want to play for the Card's when they grow up. Wouldn't it be super cool to go watch your son play, at Bush, or Wrigley, It would be like you were the queen of the world or somethin. Have a fun Saturday. Dear Sharon, Love you too :) Have fun here, I did for about 3 years already and it is hard to stay away once you are hooked :) You are a beauty, I have enjoyed your videos! Alchemy, Here's to imagining (Click on my name) Dear heartphone, old miss this one imagines in pictures http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_LW7IefYi-U&feature=related Watch it again. I think the answer is right behind you. Yeah!!! This one is one of my bery bery favorites, I know you'll love it too. I think it was Kate that posted it a while back, I can't remember. Anyway enjoy. Dear Eric, I agree with MississippiHippie (Sharon) That little one in the background is telling exactly what it is all about :) Met my grandchildren today, wow did they touch my heart again! Life is beautiful, beautiful :) Yes, yes... every kind of people. I've always loved this song, and this video is perfect. Thanks Tammy :) And Eric, funny thing, right around the 3 minute mark on the video, there's someone that looks alot like you. interesting. heartphone, yes to the children. I was feeling a little sad today, thinking about Dr. Chopra's post, addictions and what they're all about. Then out of the blue my little boy said, 'I want to ride my bike in the street mom.' He just recently got his first bike with training wheels. So out we went, and he showed me the world through his eyes. Life is beautiful. :) love, Hi Sharon, Seeing life through the eyes of a child :) As a mother one is priviliged to do this but one also carries the responsibility of a mother, so it sometimes is mixed with other feelings, if you know what I mean. As a grandmother, one cannot only see through the eyes of one's grandchild but also experience the inner joy of being not (that) responsible anymore. In other words one doubly enjoys. In a way life is paying one back for what one has invested in it with one's own children :) I have commented my thoughts on addiction on Deepak's thread. Follow your heart and do not judge yourself, never, even if others do. Addiction is just a word, just like indoctrination :) love, Hey Craig and Miss Hippie HR Puffnstuff was the place I went when things were rough. Yo and the Banana Splits. Once you hit a vein of those shows on youtube it is an endless Saturday Morning. Go Speed Racer Go! In the hands of a competent Superhero those Superpowers are powerless. derek Craig~ derek~ But Pufnstuf, now that's a whole 'nother story. I will be finding some of those on youtube fosho. Peace :) always Interesting Story Unfolding as usual it is a story behind it that is most interesting. The story supports Deepak’s contention which is why I am taking the time to post something about it. There is this DNS exploit and DNS is essential for the Internet to work using names rather than numbers. Even more if DNS is poisoned you may go to a site that appears to be the correct site but is really an imposter site which is great for Phishing. This is not to be confused with a Worm that began Circulating for a Windows DNS Vulnerability last week. 1) DNS cache poisoning vulnerability exploit rediscovered and kept secret, similar to older known vulnerabilities and may have been pointed out once before. My guess is 30% will be patched, if all the ISPs get their servers patched then it might not be so bad. The patch is not a simple patch and it can be difficult to apply to production with proper testing done first. It will be interesting to see what happens in the next two weeks if anything. Citizens should ask themselves a question they are paying billions to Homeland Security People, The Technology Czar, and Air force Cyber command to protect the country IT infrastructure. Yet we have a few people actually doing it that are not even getting paid for the value and benefit they provide that established entities fail to do. What is wrong with this picture and how incompetent must the management be? These government outfits are black holes for money producing little value for the people, and are an obvious source of inflation. Then again there are only a few hundred of us on the planet that actually understand the systems everyone is using at the deeper layers.. We can pretty much assume these intelligent people some of whom we might call the Technorati or Digerati, that actually comprehend the systems, and have more holistic intentions will be taking over the planet, correcting the systems with a new design and transferring control to a new uncorrupted authority because current the establishment is impaired by egoic intention, ego barriers and are quite ignorant. : ) There are many deeper ramifications here. Even if all you can give is your attention and awareness, that is the most valuable of gifts.
True insight comes in love and you DO know the difference.Yup
Actually our gift has nothing to do with age in my view, but with the amount of wisdom accumulated, with the degree of clarity and understanding, with the creativity we have access to. So as I see it, if someone has something to give to our world today, they should let go of any reason for why not and do it.

Too much fun to see it again.
Thank you for your lovely comment on your last video. And I just now saw your post welcoming me (from the true meaning of yoga thread). So happy to be here.
I can't remember the Banana Splits so I'll have to check them out. And Speed Racer was the favorite of both my brothers while it really sort of irritated me. I could never get past the stiff animation and voices. Ahh!

Hey Craig and Miss Hippie
HR Puffnstuff
Hi Sharon,
Seeing life through the eyes
According to scripture, that will be, money will be worth the paper its written on. I think thats closer that we think. Can you imagine, if you went to pay for your latte and EVERY computer system was down? no latte..AND SURVIVAL OF THE WISEST. I say "bring it on" if thats what its gonna take to make people aware of them selves and the lack of LOVE and COMPASSION, I say, bring it on, but then again, I don't live on money alone, do you?
