Continuing the weeklong practices for peace, today’s theme for peacemakers is:
Thinking for Peace
Thinking has power when it is backed by intention. Today, introduce the intention of peace in your thoughts. Take a few moments of silence, then repeat this ancient prayer:
Let me be loved, let me be happy, let me be peaceful.
Let my friends be happy, loved, and peaceful.
Let my perceived enemies be happy, loved, and peaceful.
Let all beings be happy, loved, and peaceful.
Let the whole world experience these things.
Any time during the day if you are overshadowed by fear or anger, repeat these intentions. Use this prayer to get back on center.
Please support my intention for peace by going to intent.com.Then create your own intention to add the power of your intention toward peace in the world. Share this message with all your friends to create a tidal wave of peace for the planet right now.

I agree with Richard, as I have learned this wisdom the hard way, i.e., by experience, and I can truly say ....
JUSTICE HAS BEEN SERVED AND PEACE IS NOW FREE TO LOVE

Can one have truly have Peace inside if there is injustice in the world around them?
Perhaps only if they see the world as separate.
Yet the truth will still whisper, to disturb your Peace.

Justice is not about persecution or revenge; it is all about bringing to light the truth to destroy the fiction that gave rise to the injustice. For every injustice is born from a fiction.
~. OneSelf
For as long as we fail to embrace the truth, and cling to fiction, there will be injustice and we will squander great resources treating the symptoms of the injustice believing them to be the cause.
~. OneSelf
Peace is not about a world without conflict, it is about a world of amicably resolved conflict. An unresolved conflict is one based on fiction. For in truth there is always a resolution.

Those who have would like to have peace, those who have not would like to have war. The question is, can the former outnumber the intentions of the later?
Outcome of a poll in my country:
Those people of 50 and above in the first place want harmony and peace and in the second place material enjoyment.
When asked to that group what they would do when they suddenly received 10.000 Euro, the older one was the sooner one wanted to give it away, to their own children, to their community, or to a charity.
People in the age of thirty, when asked the same question replied they wanted to spend it on themselves.
So, you have predicted this in your book dear Harb :)
Don't worry, be happy!
Peace,
Mieke
P.S. I cannot imagine that people in a small country like the Netherlands so much differ from their generation with the rest of the world.
So critical mass is already there or it will not take long before it is :)
Dear Harb,
My question is: Why do I live in these beautiful mountains that know only an occassional thunderstorm? Why do I know two people that went to war, and why am I not suffering in some concentration camp?
The seed sprouts where the soil has nutrients. It goes for hate as well.
Therefore, to embrace a discipline, a path, a way, is good.
I wrote Deepak recently about roots, which at the time I didn't understand. But now, I think, when a flower (of a man) sprouts down here, it is because he was always rooted in Heaven.
PS: In that we all are rooted in Heaven. And that is why the saying goes that when the sh*thead (excuse me), shisya is ready, the guru appears automatically. It's roots , darling!.

Hi Sherry,
Right on :) and synchronistically :)
Mieke
Hi Ed, Lol :)
Synchronicity, my arse. It's voodoo! But knowing nothing about voodoo, I'll go with the Dharmadhatu Voodoo.
Dharmadhatu Voodo, I don't even know what it is but am sure Google will have some nice explanations :)
lol Tis my infant brain ;)
:) :)
There are 59 explanation of Dharmadhatu Voodo and the first one I read explained it all.
Because I am not a buddhist I will stick to the labyrinth which I already equated with Bhakti Yoga and these two for me are sufficient.
Live and let live in peace and harmony!
There's a lot of o's in voodoo and a nasty affliction, Meike A little 'emptiness' goes a long way!
By the way, I just checked my email and got an invitation to come and look at the new Intent 'outfit' on intent.com.
Imagine my surprise, when I clicked on the link and received the message that the page is not available?
Funny thing is that my own website is not available too at this moment, which I could read on the help page of my provider because server 27 went down one day ago and up till now they have not been able to fix that problem.
Synchronistical? Dharmadhatu Voodo?
My arse, it doesn't matter. What matters is the peace one has been able to gather into ones own life.
Peace comes from peace, with many thanks to Derek.
I am a Hindu, a Muslim, an Israeli, an Afrikaner, a Pakistani. (said Gandhi) Their battles are mine.
So what difference Bhakti yoga, Dhayani meditation, the Dharma, or the Totem Pole?
In essence, nothing, but I am attracted to those two ways of expression :)
and what does Peace really mean?
To me it means that people can live together with enough space in their own world to express themselves in their own way.
And whether this is expressed in a religion, or in a cultural way, it is alright with me, as long as they do not think that their expression is the only soul-saving way.
Namasté
I don't think the soul needs saving. It needs to be realized. Maybe that would be what peace is.
dear Mieke,
I would walk with you into the labyrinth any day! :)
Peace within is the ultimate experience of Peace on earth. And to share it's expression with another - 'tis heaven.
And if I am inwardly peaceful, I can walk into any situation, even those as in family or work situations where there is disharmony or some fighting and disagreements - and still feel peaceful within.
Awareness shows me the turmoil around me and in others, and I can even choose to lending a helping hand or offer some advice ...
but
I can choose not to participate in the thoughts and feelings of turmoil.
it's not a part of me.
love to you,
~ Kate
Hey Mieke
Sometimes I forget the world will take care of it's self. I find myself watching politics instead of the rays of light so generously given by my creator.
No matter who is elected, our world is ever changing and that is a miracle.
I can see the beauty in the chaos.
I can enjoy the green of the leaf against the blue of the sky.
derek
Thanks Kate and Derek,
It is as it is.
Peace comes from peace :)
Love to you,
Mieke
Hi Kate
If I am not sticky, sticky things wont stick to me.

Hey Kate
That may have not made any sense to you. I got it from your line,
"I can choose not to participate in the thoughts and feelings of turmoil.
it's not a part of me."
Sometimes I figure everybody is on the same page as me. Yo.
derek
Bravo, Richard!
As you have mentioned in Postings Nos. 1 and 5:
Mahatma Gandhi said, "PEACE REQUIRES not only the absence of violence but also THE PRESENCE OF JUSTICE".
As you say, Richard, "We should not confuse Peace with simply being passive." ....
"Justice is all about bringing to light the truth to destroy the fiction that gave rise to the injustice. For every injustice is born from a fiction."
There has always been a price to be paid for Peace because of the many persons dedicated to the quest for power and the acquisition of ill- gotten gains, above any concern or value given to the goal of Peace and Justice.
The Peace Lovers must speak out against those who wish to assert their selfish motives upon them. We must seek the Light of Enlightenment and Justice For All and Leave Passivity Behind. The Light of Enlightenment will destroy the Dark Forces of Ignorance.
Best Wishes,

Hi Betsy,
I just received the two books I ordered about the Temple in Man and Cracking the symbol code.
I have not ordered the Temple of Man because I simply cannot afford it.
But the Temple in Man is the first brief book Schwaller de Lubicz has written about his investigations in the Luxor Temple.
Cracking the symbol code can be compared in a way to the book I have already read about Chartres Cathedral by Michael Ladwein.
Well, it can never be wrong to read about the human body, whether scientifically or esoterically or geometrically. All have their own value and as I am able to communicate with every cell in my body, I am already aware of the truth all three disciplines reveal.
The Peace Lovers does not have to speak against anyone because everyone is aware of the truth within him/herself.
Only thing is to really see the divine in the other, every other, the way one sees it in oneself.
Peace,
Mieke
P.S. It is not for nothing called Inner Freedom
If I were really able to do as you suggest, Mieke, I would be staring at my daughters, mouth, agape, and unresponsive; not to mention, incoherent. They'd send me to the hospital.
I do not suggest this to you. I only know what works for me.
And it is not something you talk about with other people. It can be found when two strangers meet each other in the street or wherever and smile at each other with no reason at all, just like that.
At such a moment one encounters the divine in the other.
What I tried to explain cannot be explained but it works for me in this stage of my life.
And about communicating with ones own cells is really possible, I have a little book about it and it is totally personal. It does not have to work for another. It is my personal view and I am entitled to have it.
And if someone wants to know more about this too, then one can have a look here:
http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=177874480
And I am in the lucky circumstance of having not seen a hospital more than twice in my life.
Not to forget Mahatma Gandhi was shot dead for what he is and what he stood for.
Oh, Like me and the non-smokers were thinking of living forever. Uh Huh.
Actually # 34, it's not all my cells, it's my skin cells and, if you must know, my perineum, that gets all worked up. I tried to talk to Guru Pitka about it but he's not reponding.
Dear Mieke,
Glad to hear that you've received the books. Rene Schwaller de Lubicz is a wonderful source of knowledge. Anthing of his is sure to be enlightening.
Thought you might like to know the GOOD NEWS ABOUT TROY ANTHONY DAVIS. Yesterday, the day he was to be executed - the U.S. Supreme Court came to his rescue and issued a stay of execution.
Kavita Chhibber, the journalist from Atlanta, has been tireless in championing his cause. She has contacted the major television networks and hopefully they will cover his story. We have to work now on getting him released from prison - where he has been for 19 years, for a crime he did not commit.
Best Wishes,
"Betsy" S.
Hi Betsy,
Yes I have read the story on Kavita's website and am relieved to read your above message.
Kavita is indeed a very good journalist, she did a story once about my best Intentblog friend Donna Sonnenburg (North) who sadly is not allowed to blog here anymore.
At the moment she does not have an internet connection because she moved to another apartment and could not afford it anymore.
I made a nice little butterfly labyrinth for her in nature during my latest walking holiday for peace. You can read about it and see it at my website:
http://www.heartphone.org/possibilities_of_the_labyrinth.htm
You will have to scroll a bit to the bottom of the page to have a look at it.
There are still many injustices in the world.
In our country death penalty is forbidden.
I daily meditate for peace and made lots of 3D virtual labyrinths of peace on my computer and in nature. Walking a labyrinth of peace is very soothing for lots of people and in Europe they are very popular and one could say that they are the ultimate peace tool in these turbulent days of chaos everywhere.
Love, Mieke
Dear Mieke,
I visited your website and enjoyed reading about the labyrinths. It's interesting that the nos. 7 and 11 are especially significant in designing the pathways.
I'm curious about the left brain labyrinth as opposed to the right brain labyrinth. Have you noticed different feelings when using one or the other of these? I would imagine that the right brain labyrinth would encourage the creative (artistic & intuitive) energies and that the left brain labyrinth would encourage the logical (rational and intellectual) energies. Is this the case?
Your butterfly labyrinths are very pretty.
Best Wishes,
"Betsy" S.
Hi Betsy,
Yes you describe the left and right brain labyrinth very accurately :)
In fact I have written two articles about this very subject:
http://www.heartphone.org/seven_chakras_labyrinth.htm
This describes how to use the labyrinth as a brain trainer using the Yoga philosophy of the seven chakra's and their colours.
And another one:
http://www.heartphone.org/butterfly_labyrinth.htm
Using the form of a (3D) butterfly as a tool for brain training.
Made the latter one as a 3D virtual reality world, so am able to walk it virtually on my computer :)
Well, hope this gives you the information you are looking for.
Both of them have already given me very much inspiration, ideas and solutions in my life during the past five years since I discovered the labyrinth.
Anyway enjoy :)
Love, Mieke

There is one important component of Peace and that is Justice.
At this time achieving Justice will not come from being passive.
We should also not confuse energy for change with anger.
We should not confuse Peace with simply being passive.
-From Wiki-
Mahatma Gandhi suggested that if an oppressive society lacks violence, the society is nonetheless not peaceful, because of the injustice of the oppression. Gandhi articulated a vision of peace in which justice is an inherent and necessary aspect; that peace requires not only the absence of violence but also the presence of justice. Galtung described this peace, peace with justice, as "positive peace," because hostility and further violence could no longer flourish in this environment.
