In the Face of Frustration

Sarah Maria - November 05, 2008

Okay, for anyone who is an entreprenuer and focused on living with purpose - does it ever get FRUSTRATING?

Of course I have huge aspirations and dreams for what I do, wanting to help millions of people, etc. I want to help alleviate pain and suffering, create healing, joy, abundance, etc.

\But then there is the actual challenge of doing it. Sometimes I get rather frustrated, trying to find and connect with my market. Does anyone even need help?

It is quite interesting to me, does me living my purpose require that someone else is in pain? I mean, if there was no pain and suffering, then what would I do? If everyone was perfectly happy and at peace, then I suppose I would have to find a different purpose.

There is a line from the Tao that says something to the effect of "What is a good man but a bad man's helper? What is a bad man but a good man's student?"

This underscores the unity and equality underlying everything, really. It is all a flow of giving and receiving.

My question still remians: how can I radiate love so purely that it heals by its mere presence?

Since I prefer not to spend much time in the frustration vibration (just long enough to vent and let my ego feel adequately sorry for itself), here are some things that I do to keep myself focused and headed toward a state of inspiration:

I consciously review everything that is working well in my business. I focus on the clients I have, the potential speaking engagements, the fact that my book is complete, etc, etc.

I look to people who have gone before and made a tremendous impact in the world. Some of the truly great leaders of the world, Mother Teresa, Nelson Mandela, etc. faced much adversity. Yet they continued on with purpose. By continuing on and continuing on, they eventually had a huge impact.

So, as they say, try and try again. I think Thomas Edison tested 10,000 ways of making a lightbulb before he figured out the correct way...

Okay, I think I have adequately re-inspired myself for the time being. Thanks for listening - may success follow you wherever you go.

Much love,

Sarah Maria

how 'bout "Okay, for anyone is living - does it ever get FRUSTRATING?" -- yes it does.

just keep putting one foot in front of the other, keeping your goals in sight. let your inner spirit find your true role in life. be honest with yourself, and be true to yourself, above all.

love & good luck, h

Hello Sarah Maria,

It is good to listen to you and to see that you are able to answer your own questions very adequately :).

And by listening to you, I was able to find the answer to a question I had, more easily.

When one is able to listen to others and can place oneself into the train of thought of the other, one becomes more capable to listen more carefully to oneself too.

If people were able to do so more often they would discover that by listening more they do not only a favour to the one who asks the attention at that moment, but they mostly help themselves to the right answer at the right moment to their own questions.

To be able to listen is a most valuable virtue and will bring you most of the time in a so-called win win situation.

Not only do you serve the other, you serve yourself also by learning exactly at that moment what you need to learn.

That is probably one of the reasons why we women are more inclined tell each other our secrets than men :).

All the best to you!

Mieke

Sarah you ask,"how can I radiate love so purely that it heals by its mere presence?

in the words of Nisargadatta....Charity and love are naturally present. They are the nature of Consciousness. It is not you who impart them.....

so I guess Sarah needs to get out of way so Consciousness can radiate.......:))

Do we ever get frustrated? You had to ask eh..? :D

Taking abreak also helps. Taking sometime out for your own and not concentrate on whatever that is going on around you and how you should respond and all those higher spirtitual purposes of life. Just relax and taking it easy then the world shows you the way...

Organising inner thoughts and complexities in some sort of way which then leads to getting things organised outside in the materailistic realm also helps which in turn facilitates the FLOW.

Hi there Ruch,
It's all about FLOW :-) Relaxing into moments, when it has been intensely frustrating (oh I have had my share)
breathing slower and thinking clearly
has helped me
to really appreciate Life as it unfolds.

And trusting I will know the right decisions to make, and accept what is not in my control.

(btw, Thanks for your weekly intent :)

love,
~ Kate

Most welcome Kate....

Yups .. it's all about flow (of energy)

One day when the critical mass is achieved, it will initiate a 'FLAWLESS FLOW' that will build the momentum and there will be no room for frustration - just serial synchronicities of expresion. :-)

I too have had those thoughts and can relate to them....do I create the needy? Does a doctor create the ill...so he can fulfill the purpose he gave himself? These questions changed my life....I no longer need people to need me, in order to feel good about myself. Noone needs me...is actually very freeing....and maybe....just maybe I am doing more for the world now than I was thinking that I could add something to perfection.
