Obama's Grandmother Dies

Mallika Chopra - November 03, 2008

News outlets are reporting that Obama's grandmother passed away. A bittersweet time indeed for the Obama family.

What an incredible woman she must have been to nurture a leader like Barack Obama!

May her spirit fly with the hope and joy and freedom that she brought into our world through her life and presence.

it's real sad she didn't live long enough to see her grandson become prez!

He did the right thing to visit her, even as it took him off the campaign trail. Condolences to the Dunham/Obama family.

dear Mallika,
Barack Obama really loved his grandmother, you could always see this when he would speak of her. She nurtured him with care, encouragement and deep love.

It is bittersweet that she has died on the eve of his most amazing run for the Presidency.

I am sure she knew the country was backing him in historic fashion. Her pride must have been unbounded.

love,
~ Kate

Well said, Mallika. Thank you for the sentiments.

Grandmother Madelyn is with us from invisible Angelic realm...as we turn the tide and page in this realm. We can carry her in our hearts as well as her great son -- soon to be president.

It's good to be together on this grand day.

Trish~~
