Just found this. I haven;pt finished reading it myself (it's 18 pages). It looks interesting - energy from the oceans, completely renewable, no polluting by products, the technology is relatively easy to implement using well-known techniques and equipment.

The history of yo
The earliest surviving yo-yo dates to 500 B.C. and is made using Terra cotta disks. A Greek vase from this period shows a boy playing yo-yo. Greek records from the period describe toys made out of wood, metal, or painted terra cotta (clay). The terra cotta disks were used to ceremonially offer the toys of youth to certain gods when a child came of age—discs of other materials were used for actual play. Philippine historical records indicate that 16th century hunters hiding in trees used a rock tied to a cord up to 20 feet in length to throw at wild animals beneath them—the cord enabling retrieval of the rock after missed attempts. Some have theorized that this was the basis of the yo-yo, but it is more likely that the yo-yo traveled from China not only to Greece, but also to the Philippines.
A popular belief is that the yo-yo was a weapon for over 400 years in the Philippines. However, the idea was debunked by the former president of the Filipino American National Historical Society and by the chairman of the American Yo-Yo Association’s History and Collecting Committee.
Nonetheless, the allegation was used in a Diet Mountain Dew commercial in 2008 as part of the drink's "Surprising Facts" ad campaign.
The principal distinction between the Filipino design and more primitive yo-yos is in the way the yo-yo is strung. In older (and some remaining inexpensive) yo-yo designs, the string is tied to the axle using a knot. With this technique, the yo-yo just goes "back-and-forth"; it returns easily, but it is impossible, or nearly so, to make it "sleep".
In the Filipino design, one continuous piece of string, double the desired length, is twisted around itself to produce a loop at one end which is fitted around the axle. Also termed a looped slip-string, this seemingly minor modification allows for a far greater variety and sophistication of motion, thanks to increased stability and suspension of movement during free spin.
Surprisingly, this innovation in the string design is useful even for "off-string" yo-yo play, in which the yoyo is not attached to the string at all. The looped winding ensures that the free end of the string has no bulges, splices, or other non-uniformities, which can cause the string to jam uncontrollably in off-string play.
The International Yo-Yo Open is the largest yo-yo contest in the world. It is held every year in August at South Street Seaport in New York City.
wikid
Dear Ed, I am glad to hear there is the possibility of increased stabilty and the suspension of movement. My yo yo has something to look forward to, eh?
Dearest Yo.
Will you be there next August?
I would never go to NYC again. I was there once before at a Park Ave. wedding. It was three dimensional cement. Pah-lease!
Feel free to take a train ride to Ft. Edward to vist me though. I will not drive to Albany (that major city!) either to pick you up. The bus station or airport is ok, but not Amtrak. It's across this humungous river.
Yo Ed
I'm with Sherry on the NY thing. I'm okay with NY for a week or so. There is so much energy there that I start bouncing of the walls and not enough of them are padded. It's actually quite beautiful there. A contrast of nature and concrete. A friend has an apartment, or did have an apartment, on the Palisades, right above the ferry that takes you somewhere around 42nd St. Where the aircraft carrier was. I would sit on his roof at night and look across the Hudson river at NY, it still gives me chills. The sparkling lights on the water.

The stump has no umpf.
You trust someone. You know they will not hurt you or disappoint you, that you will be safe with them. One day, you realize, you have never been safe, and they have been hurting you all along. You realize that he/she was hiding things and lying to you. It starts to hurt very bad. You begin to understand that there was no love for you in the first place. When you were ready to hand over everything- your life and your future into the hands of this person- they had not even started to accept you. They pretended and took advantage.
I have been very hurt today, more than I have ever been. I have been cheated- my conscious is lecturing me- as to why I could not prevent this from happening? How did I let someone hurt me like this? I am grateful for having found the truth and for having to courage to take a stand and change what is wrong. Inside, is a storm. My soul is bleeding, is crying out, wanting to heal. I read once that in order to find happiness, you have to be open- you have to break down the wall around you and let others in. I have and have been devastated as a result. I can't even imagine, that when the pain dissolves and I am at peace once again, how will I ever be able to trust another person?
It's true of all of us, Burcidi.
a little goodie I came across in my readings online...this by...Dr. Greg Goode
The question of free will is from the perspective of the person. Does the person have free will? Many of the person's actions are forced or determined by factors over which it has no control. Some of these actions are accompanied by the feeling of being lived, of being in the flow, in the "zone." People often count these as the best times. But are at least some of the person's decisions and actions freely chosen? To establish free will, as is discussed in Philosophy 101 classes everywhere, it is not necessary to show that every action is free. Even one free action would be sufficient.
Case 1:
"Will that be coffee or tea?"
"Hmmm, let me think.... I'll have tea, thanks."
Case 2:
(Thought bubble rising:) "I'd love to take a walk in the beautiful woods. I'd like to surround myself with peace and serenity and inquire into my true nature." (Putting on hiking boots, opening the camper door and stepping out), "Here I go."
From the perspective of the person, if the decision process is not analyzed, the actions and decisions in both cases above seem to be perfect examples of free will. Upon analysis however, a free action and a free chooser cannot be found. A thought comes, followed by a desire, followed by a decision, followed by an action. Tracing backwards, the action is controlled by the decision, the decision is controlled by the desire, the desire is prompted by the thought. The thought arises spontaneously, itself unbidden, un-asked-for, unchosen. First the thought is not there, then it is. Nowhere in this process can a free will be found. Nowhere can a freely-acting chooser be found.
It is even too much to say that the actions, decisions, desires and thoughts can control or prompt each other. These cause-and-effect dynamics are not even observed. Rather, they arise as inferences and conclusions about what happened, that is, they arise as thoughts that rise and fall.
In something like Case 1, the decision might even be accompanied by a small feeling of freedom, lightness, and spaciousness. And maybe also accompanied by a thought, "I'm choosing tea but I could freely choose coffee instead." But the feeling of freedom and the thought "I could" also arise unbidden. That is, the feeling of freedom is not freely chosen.
The person is not the locus of freedom.
The person and the rest of the world cannot be found apart from the awareness in which all things appear. The person, the mind, body and world arise as thoughts, feelings, and sensations. These are nothing other than objects in awareness, and are nothing other than awareness itself. The person does not experience; the person is experienced. As awareness, we are That to which these objects appear. Thoughts, feelings, sensations - these objects arise from the background of silent awareness, they subsist in awareness, and they slip back into awareness. The awareness in which they appear is not itself an object but the background of all objects. It is our true nature. But the objects come and go unbidden, without autonomy. They are powerless and cannot do anything on their own. Objects cannot possess or contain freedom.
Is there freedom?
The silent awareness in which all objects appear is the true nature of all things. Awareness says YES to everything. Even if a NO arises, awareness says YES to the NO. Awareness is without resistance, without limits or edges, without refusal and without obstruction. Awareness is not free, it is freedom itself. What we truly are is not the person but this awareness, this freedom.
The person wants to co-opt this freedom, to own it, to behold it, to be present to use and enjoy it. But in spite of this desire from the perspective of the person, the person can never own That in which the person appears.
What about teachings that emphasize free will?
Entire religions and ethical systems are based on this idea. Ramana Maharshi told a questioner that all actions are determined except the ability to inquire into one's true nature. Isn't Case 2 above different from Case 1?
Sometimes teachings and exhortations about personal freedom are a beautiful, effective and necessary step for freedom from the idea of being a person. A person who prematurely adopts a "no-free-will" teaching can lapse into depression and antinomian behavior. "You have to be someone before you can be no one." The teachings on free will borrow from the freedom that we are. Among the many objects that arise in the mirror of awareness, some objects arise as images of mirrors. These images are taken as representations of their source. Like a mirror appearing in a mirror, Ramana's teaching serves as a pointer to freedom. Case 2 is not different in this respect from Case 1. As objects, all cases and their characters, and all teachings and all discourse (even this one!) are not themselves free or self-powered, but they arise from freedom and consist in freedom.
The person is never free.
As awareness, we are never bound.

#24 How ill-mannered of me, Sherry, thank you for your kind and trusting invite to dinner at Fort Edward. There are stranger twists of feet ;)
Dear Ed,
How you take all my seriousness and turn it into marshmallow fluff. It tastes good to me.
I don't know why
Myself, white-man
I am sit in my living-self, today
I said that I did know why, yes
How come I am feelling Africa-mood
I would like to try to explain, to understand
(don't try too much)
(I know)
(don't try too much)
I am sit there with sand, wind, sun and skin
This movement of beeing, this heartbeat so deep and different
Don't know why I am feeling this nature-memory
It makes me feel good and so relax
Let's say it that way
But it's not based on self-pleasure only, no
Maybe love-business, could it be
Heart-hunters, constantly connected inside slow-movements and attention
Hunters of wealth, of cares...
i think IB should give an amnesty to a few of the old timers who are currently removed...north for example comes to mind...what u think? after all...santa is busy preparing his big bag at the NP for his long trek south....hohohohohoooooooo.........

I asked the rabbi once what spirit meant. Among his several words he used vitiae or vitality. I think the spirit gives heat energy to the body.
I've never heard an explanation for the body's temperature. I could Google it, as Heath suggests. But I don't always believe what I read. A scientist hasn't been where I've been. Nor I him. And my knowledge doesn't come solely from other people's discoveries.
Dear Ruth,
That's a heavy recitation in #34. I couldn't capture a lot of it, I think because the words have different meanings to me. I will say that in meditation, I've found there is only will.
I couldn't say if it's free. It just is necessary and mine to utilize.
"...the ability to inquire into one's true nature,"- I think I understand Ramana Maharishi. At that point will becomes not a determination.

#54 Hi Luscious, yes, I'll drink to that ;)
Do you have a Mac?
It's snowing HERE, now and I thought of you as the bluetits searched franticly in my googlebeech hedge in the backyard haven I share with them. Insect population is dwindling. I may have to invite them into my house, the birds, I mean.
BTW. microsoft snow visability is poor so can't really home in on your Mac? Heath may be able to 'how do you do ;))
Not a deliberate spelling mistake.
Okay, am I to believe, what I see? ( No Mac)
Mac is English for raincoat btw and Scottish for kilt-wearers, you know that ;))

It was the word awareness that i couldn't get and threw off my comprehension. I am used to perceiving consciousness. Just a dork, but words conjure up associations and that one does not for me.
Ed, it worked! :)

Hi Derek,
Just the opposite is happening
On my part of the globe
For the first time since long
It is snowing again in November
Made many pictures of it because
It does not last long in our country
Tomorrow temperature will be quite
above zero again
Made a beautiful picture from
where I live looking over a
flat roof covered in snow
seeing some trees in the background,
where I have been able to virtually place
my heart labyrinth in the snow
Will be an everlasting memory of
A wonderful winter day
Have placed this picture on

Hey Derek, seems like your, longed for, Skye is a chip off the old Wyoming. Jeez, you go back a long way!
Footprints found on Skye and in Wyoming, in the US, were left by the same dinosaurs or a similar species, recently-published research has found.
Dr Neil Clark, of Glasgow's Hunterian Museum and Art Gallery, said some tracks at the two sites were "indistinguishable".
Great Britain and the United States formed part of the same land-mass hundreds of millions of years ago.
Dr Clark said further investigation into the link was needed.
The preliminary research by the curator of palaeontology and Dr Michael Brett-Surman, of the department of paleobiology at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, is published in the Scottish Journal of Geology.
The scientists studied tracks from the Middle Jurassic - about 170 million years ago - found in rock formations.
Analysis included measurements of footprints for comparison, looking at the length of digits and the distance between them.
Data gathered suggested that smaller footprints from the Valtos Sandstone and Kilmaluag formations on Skye were indistinguishable from those in the Sundance Formation in Wyoming.
Four different groupings of dinosaur footprints were identified and the scientists said they may represent at least four different types of animal.
Dr Clark said: "The footprints were indistinguishable to me. If they are not from the same species, they are a very similar kind of dinosaur.

The way typepad is behaving it seems like none of us are welcome
Gasp!
"President-elect Barack Obama has yet to attend church services since winning the White House earlier this month, a departure from the example of his two immediate predecessors.
On the three Sundays since his election, Obama has instead used his free time to get in workouts at a Chicago gym."
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1108/15902.html
And if you think it's important for a President-elect to make a public show of attending church, just remember that:
"On his first day as president-elect, following weeks of Florida recounts and court hearings, Bush went to church with his wife, Laura...During the service, the Rev. Mark Craig, senior pastor at Highland Park United Methodist Church in Dallas, told Bush, "You have been chosen by God to lead the people.""[Politico]
'Nuff said.
Thank you, Jesus....."whenever two or three are gathered together in the gym, we all know it's going to work out just fine."
When I first tried using that typepad thing the other day it said it wanted to charge me money; but I tried to post this post and it let me . . .
The time of intentblog may soon be ending.
And this has been such a kewl place for the last few years . . .
Peace
hi all,
I have been trying to login with typepad....it kept rejecting my login as invalid...I kept contacting them and they would send me a link to reset my password, which took me no-where, link was a dud....finally...got through...don't know if this will go smoothly or be a big pain in the butt to sign in from here on in...
wonder how long intentblog will be up and running? Mallika wants joiners for her intent.com but somehow it is just in a fit..for me...focus to much on health and well-being...and intents..I kind of like the set-up here...a little bit of everything and everyone...well, not that it took so long for me to log-in I have to go and do some errands.....later...have a great day all....ruth
correction...should be....just not a fit...
Hi Craig, Ruth, Intent not for me, either
It'll be a sad day if IB closes just a few of here to the bitter end !!
Peed off at the constant rejections, I decided to register another account at Typepad. Wondering whether they would accept same e-mail, I gave 'sign in' at the register page one more chance and so far that seems to have worked.
like mallika says nothing has changed...she only wants to improve the site...damn!
emperor? what charge? that would definitely mean the end of IB...it ain't gonna happen...just chill....dude(ettes)....
where is everybody?
Everybody is gone Diablo.
All the posts by the Chopras' and friends take us over to intent dot com, and intent dot com is way too new age touchy feely feministic for me.
I have resorted to defending the widowed and orphaned on a local news website.
We have no place to call home anymore brother.
Peace
Hey Guys
I'm not having trouble with typepad.
Intent is too much like facebook for me.
I like being able to just write out my thoughts and respond to others without all the other stuff. I just don't have the desire to keep up with all the extra things on Intent. If I did, I would just do it on facebook. I'm not trying to build a cyber social network, I just like to share in a simple way, even if it's with one or two people.
Hopefully IB will continue on.
my days of trying to change the world
my days of fighting for a good cause
my days of joining forces

Hey Mieke
Your labyrinths in nature are beautiful. The weather man keeps teasing us with the chance of snow, I even got my snow boots out, but it is still sunny and warm. I enjoyed your photos, is that you and your house? Well if so, it is nice to see you and where you live.
Yo Diablo
I miss all those guys, wondering if they were going to give me a hard time. They kept me on my toes and no one talks about Carl Sagan anymore.

good evening everyone,
well typepad has been trial but it seems to be working for me now...
today, I was at the library browsing through their new materials and reading, pretty much, enjoying, the library atmosphere, quiet, but not too, and then I hear..."I am at the library, what movie do you want me to pick up? How about..so and so and then she starts to read off the descriptions to the person on the other end of her line...she continues this for a few more movies untill they make their choices.....mind you...everyone in that particular quadrant of the building...was lucky enough to go through the process of her movie choices with her and her phone pal...
really, this kind of thing is now the norm in our society....one big cell phone orgy...
I quess everyone is so comfortable with themselves everywhere they go that it is just like being home on your couch talking on your phone...where ever you go there you are(very zen)...your couch is in your pocket...your cozy little personal life is now everyone's cozy little personal life....hi there, you want mashed or baked for dinner? I am just walking up the escaltor and I see some nice shirts...should I get the blue or the green for Joe? I am in the grocery store picking up the milk but can you believe what he said to me today in front of everyone at the Office? Yes, he had to go to the hospital and was in emergency for hours...waiting to see the Doctor....oh, the light just turned green....gotta give it some gas...
really, the cell phone...adds mostly nothing to the actual quality of our lives..
now, for the web cam....I can take it or leave it...mostly I leave it....I can see it for a number of situations, where it adds, but mostly as with the cell phone....over used...sometimes it is better not to have someone's face up that close and personal...
well...as you can see I have had an annoying day with the new techie stuffies...
okay, the financal situation, god, each and every day another corporate begger comes a calling to the Feds....give me some...we want some of that money, too....things are looking pretty sad, and, frankly, I am thinking, now, is the time...yep, right about, now, is when we need to call in the clowns...the real ones, enough of these imposters who have been running this show into the ground for way to long now.... a belly laugh or two would do us all a world of good.
oh, well, have a great evening everyone, ruth

BREAKING: Al Qaeda To Apply For Bailout.
by greggp
Mon Nov 24, 2008
DailyKos
Citing the recent drop in the price of crude oil, its resulting impact on revenue to the Bin Laden family, and the general reversal of fortunes of the organization relative to the United States after the election of Barack Obama as President, Al Qaeda today announced plans to seek a bailout under the U.S. government’s Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP).
Speaking on a video released earlier today, current Al Qaeda deputy director Ayman Al-Zawahiri announced the organization’s intention to seek bailout protection.
"Economic conditions are such that we will require bridge financing from the Great Satan so that we can continue to provide services to the Great Satan in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and in emerging markets. Once economic conditions have stabilized, we are confident that the Great Satan will be repaid many times over in blood of the Infidel."
Richard Perle, architect of the Iraq invasion, heralded the decision as one vital to the continued success of the Global War on Terror.
"Our ability to defeat Al Qaeda depends on having a healthy Al Qaeda with an identifiable presence in Iraq and Afghanistan. We cannot allow Al Qaeda to go underground."
When asked if driving Al Qaeda underground wasn’t the object of fighting it in the first place, Perle maintained that the reporter "did not understand the complexity of asymmetrical warfare."
Senator Pat Roberts of Kansas, former Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee and longtime Al Qaeda supporter, echoed the sentiments of Perle, and stressed the need to act quickly on any bailout.
"As we approach the holidays, it is vital that we have an identifiable enemy in theater. Otherwise, our patriotic contractors, such as Blackwater and Haliburton would simply be murdering civilians. Having a credible Al Qaeda presence will ensure that we avoid any unnecessary and unflattering public relations problems."
The bailout is not without its critics. Senator Joe Lieberman stressed that it must be made clear that an Al Qaeda rescue will be limited to its own particular circumstances, and that this act should not be a signal to other organizations, such as Hamas and Hezbollah that they can expect the same treatment.
"I have worked very hard to see that both Hamas and Hezbollah are strong, viable entities whose continued survival and growth is assured by political and not economic conditions. Hamas now has access to a government treasury, and in Lebanon, it should be only a short drive to the nearest weapons stockpile for any Hezbollah member."
Spokespersons for Hamas and Hezbollah could not be reached for comment.
If Al Qaeda were to default on its obligations, it is unlikely the organization would cease to exist altogether. The Carlyle Group, a private equity firm and longtime supporter of Al Qaeda through its partner, the Saudi government, is looking into the possibility of taking on some of Al Qaeda’s major assets. Former President George H.W. Bush, a principal with Carlyle, took an upbeat tone when discussing an Al Qaeda breakup.
"We at Carlyle are always looking for promising opportunities, and we feel that taking a more active role in extra-governmental terror production, especially in Iraq, will provide a nice balance to our investments in hardware, software, and staffing to our military presence in that country, such that we feel the Global War On Terror can be maintained at 2006 levels for decades to come."
When asked if helping Al Qaeda, an organization dedicated to the destruction of the United States, was such a good idea, Treasury Secretary Paulson was adamant that the risks were simply not significant when compared to the chaos that could ensue if Al Qaeda were not given this assistance.
"We simply cannot wait and let the situation deteriorate. Even a small interruption in terrorist services could cause a serious overcapacity among our contractors, and result in the loss of thousands of six-figure jobs. The economy simply cannot be saddled with the prospect of an infusion of unemployed individuals into the domestic workforce pool, especially since they are armed and on steroids."
When asked whether the Al Qaeda bailout would come with major oversight so that the American Taxpayer can know where the money is going, or even how much Al Qaeda will get, Paulson was equally as adamant.
"That’s not how Al Qaeda works, and we should not expect a major change in the organization’s operations."
UPDATE: Wow, the Rec List? For this? I just want say thanks, and this honor will not change me at all. I will still be the same sarcastic, cynical SOB I always was.

BREAKING: Michelle Obama to be Named First Lady
by inclusiveheart @dkos
Just in from the Obama Transition Team: It has been confirmed that Michelle Obama will be named the First Lady in Barack Obama's Administration.
Conservatives asked to comment on the pick were almost all angry arguing that after Obama's choice of Rahm Emmanuel, long time friend and close advisor, as Chief of Staff this decision to keep Michelle Obama on as First Lady is proof positive that Obama is going back on his promise of a unity government.
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brezinzski on Morning Joe were in complete distress.
Joe said sourly, "You know, she will be the most liberal First Lady in the White House in eight years."
Mika responded by lamenting, "I think he should have picked Sarah Palin for this position. She's a mother, she is a stylish dresser, and she is a conservative. If Obama was really committed to bringing this country together he would have picked Palin to be the First Lady."
inclusiveheart's diary :: ::
Rush Limbaugh went further arguing that Obama should go even deeper and replace not only Michelle, but also the kids. He said, "You know he should name Sarah Palin to the post of First Lady and ask Jenna and Barbara Bush to stick around as the kids. Michelle and her children are the most liberal First Family members that have been in the White House in eight years."
Tony Perkins of the American Family Council weighed in saying that "Obama should divorce Michelle for the good of the country."
The Fox and Friends team of commenters still unable to get past their sinister reading of the fist bump offered not only Sarah Palin but also Liddy Dole who has recently become available as "better" choices for the post of First Lady.
Joe Lieberman discussing his current predicament in the Senate with Don Imus seemed open to Imus' idea that he apply for the job of First Lady. Both agreed that Obama's choice of Joe Biden, a Democrat, as Vice President showed Barack Obama to be a rabid partisan. Joe went on to say that he was "very disappointed" that Barack Obama did not support John McCain, who Lieberman described as "the Greatest American Hero", in the Presidential contest arguing that had he done so "he would have shown himself to be trully bipartisan not to mention patriotic".
Sean Hannity believes that Obama needs to go much farther to establish a unity goverment by divorcing Michelle, declaring himself a Republican, naming Karl Rove as his Chief of Staff, naming Dick Cheney as his First Lady, making David Addington his Secretary of State and firing Joe Biden and replacing him with Sarah Palin.
Mitch McConnell said he wasn't really sure what Obama should do with Michelle, but that he was "very troubled" by her announcement that she would focus her work as First Lady on military families.
On the question of whether or not Michelle Obama should be allowed to stay on as the First Lady, Tom Brokaw would only say that his mother would not vote for her.
The question now remains whether or not the Obama camp will feel the pressure to make adjustments to the First Family in order to placate these important critics.

BREAKING: Tensions Erupt Over White House Puppy Appointment
by The Field
dkos
CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, NOVEMBER XX, 2008: George Stephanopoulos' report last week on ABC that the Obama family had secretly met with "Rex" at the Hyde Park Humane Society Kennel has touched off a firestorm of conflicting reports, rumor, gossip, innuendo, drama and questions about whether the young golden retriever could be vetted in time for Inauguration Day next January 20.
President-elect Barack Obama had, on the night of November 4, issued a vague set of promises involving "change" to his two daughters, Sasha and Malia, that they had earned a new puppy that would be coming with them to the White House. But serious questions remained as to what kind of puppy, from what region of the country, whether it would be a mutt (the president-elect's personal choice) or hold a pedigree, and its level of experience at tackling the tough White House challenges ahead...
Rex did not return phone calls from this reporter, directing us to the Transition Team, which declined to respond. But speculation swirled across Washington today about the implications of the rumors.
But shortly after attempting to contact the Rex camp, the newsroom phone lit up like a Christmas tree with unnamed sources to fill in the blanks.
"Barney, the lame duck dog of the Bush White House, leaves heavy paw prints to fill," two Democratic Party sources told Andrea Mitchell of NBC. "It is unknown whether the puppy to be chosen by the Obamas will be able to tackle the challenges of knowing which members of the White House press corps to bite, where the bones are buried in the Rose Garden, and solving the Middle East peace process."
The New York Times reported earlier this week that Malia Obama had officially offered the job to Rex. The Guardian then published a story stating that Rex had agreed to the position. But now tensions have erupted between the Rex and the Obama camps over a constant stream of leaks, and a high placed source reveals that Michelle Obama is concerned that those leaks could continue to trickle over the carpet in the Oval Office come January.
The Huffington Post has cited three sources close to Rex revealing that he is undecided about the job, "because there is so much important work yet to be done at the kennel." But high placed kennel sources note that Rex, at six weeks old, is very low on the seniority totem pole and will have to wait months before the possibility of becoming alpha-puppy in any of the cages there. Rex is also reportedly concerned that his possible role in an Obama White House will be curtailed by infighting and competition from the pitbull already chosen (said to be named "Rahm") and a lack of clarity as to whether he would be able to choose his own team of under-puppies and assistant puppies.
"Rex is worried about Obama's pledge of bipartisanship," a highly placed source told The Drudge Report. "I mean, think about it: Obama reaches out to Mitt Romney and the next thing you know Rex ends up on the roof of the family car in a cage on the way to Camp David."
The long trail left by Rex’s controversial mate (said to be named “Big Dog”) is at the center of the drama. The National Fire Hydrants Association has warned that if the 900-pound tail-wagger in the room, Big Dog, gets in the door he’ll also bring the pack he runs with (Terrier McAuliffe, Ron Bark-le, Malamute Penn, Antolian Villaraigosa, Shih Tzu Blumenthal, Collie Rangel, Elliot Schnauzer and Lahsa Davis, among others) and there will four years of yapping and stepping in it ahead for the White House’s new residents.
The speculation about Rex - will he or won't he? - has been the major topic in the media and across the blogosphere. Michelle Malkin of Hot Air called it "an affirmative action appointment" and questioned whether Rex is in fact a US citizen or a Golden Labrador. ‘If they allow a Canadian puppy onto US soil illegally, next thing you know Obama will be negotiating with terriers, and without preconditions," she told Fox News. "Furthermore, Rex should be required to learn English first." And Dick Morris told the Sean Hannity that passing up the black Labrador in the next kennel will definitively end the honeymoon between Obama and civil rights leaders.
But the editorial board at National Review has cheered the possibility that Rex will become the White House puppy, stating: "The last Democrat in the White House had a cat named Socks, clearly a wealth redistributor, and we're encouraged that the Obamas have chosen a symbol of capitalism in a dog, although we would have preferred a pig... with lipstick."
In other news, the big three automobile manufacturers went into bankruptcy today, the Dow tumbled 1500 points, and Vice President Dick Cheney signed an executive order making his fourth branch of government permanent.
But, wait, we have a breaking story, this just in: Sources close to Rex have said that the puppy has already passed the vetting process, the Big Dog is now scratching at the White House back door, and they will be leaking more important news tomorrow and for the next four years (on all of our legs) about Rex's preconditions for accepting the post. Film at 11!

The eyes of the world now look into space
Nobody knows why?
Two eyes in dark space mean nothing
The third; the time, is shaking...
Are you asking yourself so many "why"?
Where is the central-point?
The old-end has ended
Meanwhile, a new beginning is starting
Time is shaking
A warp-loop from the future has been seen
Crossing a fraction of present
Toward past-furiosity
Many reports landings in past-areas
These lands, these pasts were not the goal
Could be, wall-instruments for time-echoes
The radars are crazy
Something is sure
The monster-wave is chasing, now, toward our present
Where will be the final present-destination?
What makes our present-times so important?
Where is the central-time-point?
Two eyes mean nothing inside space...
Three eyes mean Jeez sighs
Dear Sherry...
There was this one time...

Dear Ed, Thank you for showing me how to copy and paste. I just don't get why what I copied yesterday doesn't paste today by mistake. Oh well. I set up other account thinking it may work better, but no. Still signed in here, so catch YOU later.
Dear Heartphone,
I just wanted to say I looked at your beautiful photos the other day. The circular nature drew in my scattered mind stuff, and then I saw fairies and sprites dancing under the tree. :)
Keith, (....as mysterious as ever...) You know Dec 22 - 23, or there abouts, is the Winter Soltsice?
Hi Dakini,
Well, in the end, ain't it all about fairies and sprites :)
Dancing around that mysterious tree....
Hi Derek #86,
Well if you had not looked only at the pictures but also read the text you would have read that this was a little holiday cottage in a wonderful environment just across our Dutch border in Germany in the middle of the woods, where one can walk for miles and miles to one's heart's content :)
And yes, that's me in the middle of my 'apple' labyrinth :)
Love to you, Mieke
Hi Mieke
I toured your nature labyrinths. They are marvelous. Was just wondering if you have ever done a living labyrinth using tulips. That's what your red and yellow one reminded me of.
Keep up the good work girl!
Love
B
Dear Dakini,
About fairy tales and sprites...,
The other day I have read such a wonderful book, a fairy tale that explained the world of Plato so beautifully.
I playfully grew up with Plato from my earliest youth. We already had a sci fi series on our television when I was 8 years old: "Prof. Plato and the journey to the Moon".
The moment I read the book: "Sophie's world" it gave me back that wonderful memory.
Perhaps something for you?

Hi Bonnie,
Yeah the tulips (of Amsterdam lol)
Guess, when spring is there, I will send you: Tulips from Amsterdam :) Not only in the form of a labyrinth but the song attached to it too!
Every season has its great natural gifts to make labyrinths. I discovered a wonderful Sunflower on one of my CD's. Remembered that I once have walked a sunflower labyrinth :)
Thanks for the inspiration!
Lots of love, Mieke
Just to get you in the mood:

When it's Spring again I'll bring again
Tulips from Amsterdam
With a heart that’s true I'll give to you
Tulips from Amsterdam
I can't wait until the day you fill
These eager arms of mine
Like the windmill keeps on turning
That's how my heart keeps on yearning
For the day I know we can share these
Tulips from Amsterdam
Share these tulips from Amsterdam
:)
(((Mieke)))
Dreaming of tulips
As I sit by a warm fire
On this chilly day
....
Sending you a cup of hot chocolate
:)
B
(((Dearest Bonnie)))
Thank you so much for the hot chocolate!
Am drinking it standing on the balcony of our apartment bringing a toast to a Buddha statue that already sits there for more than three years. And you will never believe it but she has a tulip in her hands and a labyrinth that is visible underneath.
I have placed two pictures of this Buddha statue on my website under the ‘tulip’ heart labyrinth picture:
http://www.heartphone.org/labyrinths_in_nature.htm
Lol, what an amazing synchronicity!
Love, Mieke

"A green Martian horse. Ten feet high at the shoulder, with four legs on either side; a broad, flat tail, larger at the tip than at the root which it holds straight out behind while running; a mouth splitting its head from snout to the long, massive neck.
It is entirely devoid of hair and is of a dark slate colour and exceedingly smooth and glossy. It has a white belly and the legs are shaded from slate at the shoulders and hips to a vivid yellow at the feet. The feet are heavily padded and nailless." eeeuuuhhhhh.......
