Eco Gifts: Black Friday is Now Green

Box stores had their Black Friday; now eco and socially conscious retailers have a chance to present their finery at the world's largest gathering of eco retailers in Santa Monica, December 12-14.
The Eco Gift Expo will showcase products from more than 200 leading green companies from diverse industries, including home and garden, health and wellness, conscious media, jewelry, cosmetics, children’s toys and games, athletic apparel and eco-fashion. Check out the full list of retailers including personal favorites like TOMS Shoes and White Apricot.
The event will be a well-rounded conscientious affair, with an organic food court, live music, an eco gift-wrapping and shipping station, and a lineup of top-notch social entrepreneurs speaking about their experiences (including Mallika Chopra!). Members of the Intent staff will be video-taping intents on Sunday afternoon, before and after Mallika speaks.
Eco Gift Expo, founded by Tommy Rosen in 2007, worked with green event experts to ensure an impact as harmless and conscientious as the products it showcases. This year's expo will be a zero waste event and a portion of profits will go to Global Green USA and The Whole Planet Foundation.
Date & Time: Friday December 12 & Saturday, December 13, 10:00 am - 8:00 pm; Sunday, December 14, 11 am - 8 pm
Location: Santa Monica Civic Center, 1855 Main Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401
Tickets: $10 per day, $20 per week-end pass and free for children under 12 and seniors over 65
