This is certainly a "dumb" comment Hasselbeck has made. But a friend of mine always says to me "consider the source". I do not normally watch
The View, because it honestly just kind of makes me squirm as all of the members of The View just seem like caricatures to me (one-dimensional takes on issues)--none seem to have very well-thought out opinions.
I myself do tend to be more republican, however, please do not think that all republicans would say such a thing as Elizabeth Hasselbeck--her comment to me sounds so immature--I am not sure if racist is the correct way to describe it--definitely she is stereotyping in a very silly way.

Also, just wanted to add that really, to me, Hasselbeck's comment "comes off" to me as a kind of name-calling. The net effect, really, is that it weakens her argument--if a person feels secure with their argument they don't have to add on a "mean" name at the end.

Deepak must be thrilled that such a beautiful young woman is so familiar with his work and has even taken the time and trouble to read the WSJ article written about him by himself....a beautiful 17-year-old coming in from left field to steal the whole show while the elder womenfolk of the concubine wannabees have been slavishly scrivening away and researching in order to receive even a crumb of recognition and acknowledgment from the Great Man.....Dreams die hard...and painfuully, it seems....

Dear Mallika, obviously... what she says is all she understands about the things she talks about. She needs a lot of compassion and as much education. The sad part is that she doesn't realize that and would surely refuse any help, and that's the catch 22 when it comes to ignorance. Life will teach her, be sure.

I think we may be missing the most positive thing that Deepak Chopra has entered her consciousness as well as many others, which is a reason for good cheer!

Anyone that becomes aware of Deepak has reached a stage in their evolution where it became possible to actually manifest Deepak Chopra in their lives. Deepak (his public persona) is a collective manifestation of the evolved infinite self within all of us often obscured by our finite self, but not for long. No doubt his private persona shares the same faults, trials and tribulations we all do and I would not put the burden of being perfect on anyone lest I put it on myself first, and who amongst us?

A breach of darkness by the light creates turmoil for the source disconnected ego, until it connects fully and humor can be found in this as part of the divine comedy.

It's all good from the divine perspective, and positive in a divine context.

Like us blonds don't have enough problems, now we have this vacuous chick mouthing off; Britney, Paris, Jessica . . ., will the horror never end?!? Just shut up and dance chick just shut up and dance!

I don't know if I would agree with your using the word racist to describe the comment.

Elizabeth is has gotten her ego primped in the past years because of her seat on the View as being the "republican." The republican spin machine adores her and has been using her to help their cause, which she jumps at the chance to do. This weekend I watched the movie Missing...an old movie but still very relevant in today's political arena...Elizabeth, saying, that America does good work around the world is what Charles Horman's (American tortured and killed in Chile's coup in the 70's) father thought, too, until, he needed his Government's help in finding his son, and when they were giving him the run-around discovered that his son would not have been killed without an okay being given by the US officials who were helping this military coup.....and today....there are more Americans than not who think that all the US touches is touched with goodness and fairness....they believe in a US government that is without flaw...the one they pledged their alligence to when they were five years old. They do not question their Governments motives...ever. All is always right with the red, white and blue....this is Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

In being so dismissive of Deepak Chopra's perspective she showed her vast ignorance when it comes to folks outside her narrow insulated lifestyle. Really, for Elizabeth Hasselbeck to call Deepak Chopra "what's his face" stated more about Elizabeth Hasselbeck's ignorance of current affairs in our World than it did about who Deepak Chopra is and what his work is in today's global community....

Boy, Deepak's comment really stirred up some stale soup that has been simmering on the stove.....

I still think Deepak should invite himself on the View so that he can inform Elizabeth Hasselbeck as to some of his work....

I agree with Char, it was intertaining and as a long time View watcher, it's common knowledge that "EH" always bites off more than she can chew. Hopefully Deepak will appear on the View in the future to educate our society on World affairs of the heart.

That statement came from ego, and the only thing that would take offense is the ego, not the spirit. The divine would see it as humorous perhaps.

I have noticed that some of the spiritual celebrities get swept away by the glitz. In fact some may actually be a benefit to the ego empire in that they help to suppress the natural reaction to accumulated passive violence. Yet, even so they remain devices of the divine; the world simply takes a different path to the same destination.

One has heard the saying “Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer?” the purveyors of truth and those that have a large audience are kept very close by the enemy, who are those that support the world of fiction that they benefit from to the detriment of the many.

Much of the world’s wealth is not the result of genuine prosperity and it will be lost for it is not real.

In fact it is the collective ego that keeps the world from the solutions proffered openly by spirit intelligence.

For all those on the planet that think they are innocent, because you have conformed and have not broken man’s law, think again, you have deluded your self and have broken the one law that is not on the books of man.

We could be landing on the runaway at Airport Paradise, right now, but the world has not fully engaged and supported the pilot that can fly the plane if even by remote control.

It’s more than just becoming spiritual, the systems and framework of humanity need to be quickly reengineered and by those that can see the reality behind the fictions and have the full breadth of understanding and expereince required to do so.

You all do not have a choice in the destination, but you can choose the path, some paths the journey is smooth and some paths are rough, and depending on the path chosen it is self determined if a few or many make it to the destination.

God has indicated to the world to Plant Amaranth and remineralize the surface soil what wait you for, total destruction and collapse? Is everyone so heavily invested in Pesticides and Petrochemical fertilizer?

Let the world predominantly eat "rajeera" the Kings Grain not the gluten heavy food fed to slaves. Store one third of production and you will be prepared.

Well, Deepak has said many times that he wears the red sparkly glasses because he wasn't getting enough of attention, so maybe Deepak created this event? Just a thought and is it not what Deepak asked for, even tho maybe not exactly how he expected it to occur? What could be better than all these events that have happened to bring attention to one's self? I don't mean this as offensive, as I so admire Deepak and his teachings and this is just one example of what he teaches. Well, that's my opinion and 2 cents.

Deepak is way above her scope and view, and glitter glasses was a good try considering. Sort of like the primitive tribes of remote islands who saw a plane for the first time and called it flying steel.

Yes, this is the problem with "The View". They get cute, yet somewhat airheady Elizabeth Hasselbeck to represent the "republican mentality" versus the grumpy, yet "tough as nails" Whoopi Goldberg to respresent the "thinking, questioning, cerbral "democrats". Methinks this is the reason why my Dad forbid me to watch TV as a child as the TV is the "idiot box", full of "caricatures" yet many people sit there and mistake it for reality. Thanks Dad.
