When the emperor was dying

Deepak Chopra - December 01, 2008

When Barack Obama's remarkable eloquence was dismissed as "just words" during the primary campaign, he survived the criticism. Telling the truth and offering inspiration aren't just words. They are incredibly important in keeping a society together. Now Obama faces another challenge where words can make a difference over whether the economy recovers. Injections of billions of dollars have done little good to the financial system so far. What we need is an injection of confidence.

Hi Deepak,

This is also a process we are going through.

We are now in the phase of so-called 'doom-mongering'.

But there will always be people who see the light in the end of the tunnel, so we will go upwards again :)

Harb is correct when he says that we are going through four phases in life, both on a personal and on a collective level.

Perhaps it has something to do with the four phase of the moon :)

Here in our country there is already someone who has written a book about this economic crisis and has positive predictions in it.

So there comes a time when positive predictions
will be back.

Staying balanced inbetween is the only thing a person can try to achieve for oneself :)

Love, Mieke

It's interesting that when the economy first started to collapse, the DOW would drop even further every time Bush got on national television to tell the public the economy was going to be okay. Either, this is an unrelated coincidence or partial evidence that distrust, anger or lack of confidence is driving down the economy.

So, yes hopefully the words that Obama uses will inspire confidence in not only the economy but those who are entrusted to fix it.

Hello Deepak and Everyone,

Deepak you write, "The American public took the news of economic crisis harder than anyone expected."

Hmmmm, when the American public was first dipped into this financial cold water bath, the men who turned on the faucets, told the Nation their forecast, and they were as serious about the nature of this financial crisis and their need for 700 billion bailout, yesterday, as men with a terminal cancer. So, I guess the American people responded to that delivery...appropriately...and....the fact that they are hesitant, to say, the least, to believe that things will turn around, in time, is more than appropriate....when one looks at how we ended up in this situation in the first place.

No, we need disclosure....the lack of disclosure is why we are here, for the most part.

The American people need to know, the how, the what, and, the why......EXACTLY.

Confidence, in the experts? Confidence, in their word, their knowledge, their integrity? The American people need a lot more disclosure as to the facts of this financial breakdown...JUST blaming it all on bad mortgages is ridiculous.

No, for this Nation, this global economy to have ended up here, in the first place....especially, after so many warnings, in the last eight years, at least, is being taken for the serious, close to terminal disease, that, it, in fact, is...

Full disclosure is the name of the game if this game is going to continued to be played.

have a great day ruth....

It's only doom for those that do not change and evolve. I see a lot of people still clinging to the old systems, and if they cling they lose it all.

I see fiction saturated dialog. The all needs those that can cut through the fictions and only those that have eliminated the fictions from their own minds can do this. They also need a thorough understanding of the systems. The majority are still trapped in the illusions that we were all indoctrinated with from birth.

I have outlined new evolved systems that need to be implemented and they will secure a harmonious future at the macro level.

Had an interesting phone call today, with a connection to a certain transition team, maybe it will lead to something or maybe it won’t hopefully we will overcome the ego impediments which is the only thing that can disrupt our holistic endeavors.

If we choose to evolve there is not a destiny of doom, but rather one of paradise.

So Doom or Paradise is a choice both individual and collective and I think we need at least two thirds to make that choice.

The impetus is here to make that choice and either we evolve or devolve.

Deepak,

While perception plays a large role, there is also the element of math, systems design, function and process which represents reality.

The planets balance sheet, let alone any country's balance sheet does not and cannot be balanced at the moment and this is a requirement for sustainable global systems.

Deepak, you also might want to invest the time to study the financial system flaws and solutions on http://CoinAge.me it will allow you to speak very coherently about the topic. Although I understand you may have time constraints on where you can afford to place your attention.

Just click my name.

Imagine there is a Doom and Paradise destiny pointer.

When intentions change, and the placement of our attention changes, and our investment changes the needle moves closer to paradise, if we stay the same and resist the pointer moves closer to doom.

Those that have created genuine value and prosperity and invest rather than covet wealth so that it flows and does not congeal, have nothing to worry about. Those create artificial value, extort value from the system or generate profit from fear, imbalance or disease lose either way.
