Dear Mr. Obama, It’s Time For a Peace Plan That Works

Deepak Chopra - January 05, 2009

Israel's massive assault on Gaza is the worst sort of déjà vu all over again. As news commentators wearily point out that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is a never-ending story, there are shifts in that story. The most important was George Bush's decision to studiously ignore the whole problem. For eight years the U.S. has abandoned its responsibility to broker peace. The result has been an ongoing catastrophe. No one needs reminding of that.

"There's a vein of right-wing fundamentalism that wants to see turmoil in the region as part of their hallucination about the End of Days".

Darn good start right there Dr. Chopra! My interpretation of Scripture envisions a peaceful revolution that initiates a thousand years of harmony guided by a president-less representative senate democratically elected without one dollar ever being spent on our political process.

And our newfound Constitution contains one sentence: the Golden Rule!

pax vobiscum

Peace doesn't work, it relaxes and kicks back!

TROLL ALERT

There are trolls on the site. Trolls get satisfaction by calling attention, the
only way to win is by not replying. If you refute his argument, he wins, if you swear
at him, he wins. The only thing they can´t stand is not be given attention. So let us
not give them attention.

The current actions are the same throwing rocks and stones at each other over a fence. Through time the stones have become bombs that do far more damage and the sticks have become guns.
War is Archaic! and immature as a world society.

When will we learn that this DOES NOT WORK! War and fighting are so archaic. The only way peace and understanding is going to happen is by straight honest talk and a willingness to really communicate with the other.

In the past civilian/groups have tried to do this by becoming friends with 'the enemy' so that they are no longer an object but real people with feelings and families. It's not enough....and it did work for small groups of people.

We need to have the ones that control their sticks, stones and archaic ideas on 'what's best' for the masses..learn to care and love those on the 'other side'. There is only 'one side' the side side of all BEings living on the Earth.
