Sandeep Pandey

Dr. Sandeep Pandey co-founded Asha for Education while pursuing a PhD at Berkeley. After his degree he went back to India to activelyparticipate in various movements working on rights of people and work on education as the means of empowerment. He has been an integral part of the Right to Information in UP and for communal harmony and end to religious violence. In 2002, he won the Magsasay Award - described as Asia's Nobel Prize. In 2005, he also co-organized and led Indian marchers on the Indo-Pak Peace March from New Delhi to Multan alongwith Pakistani peace activists. He is also a Convener of the National Alliance of People's Movements.
