Vijay Sappani



Vijay Sappani is a Toronto-based political and community activist. He was a candidate- National Executive, Liberal Party of Canada and a member of the multicultural advisory board of the Ontario Liberal Party. Vijay is actively involved as a campaign strategist and organizer at both federal and provincial levels. He has served on the boards and committees of Indo-Canada Chamber of commerce, Metro Toronto Junior Chamber, Progress Career Planning Institute, Canadian Unity Council, United Way, Internationally Educated Professionals Conference and many other organizations. He was the founding chair of ICCC Young Professionals and one of the founding directors of Asha for education, Canada. He also serves as a mentor for new immigrants through TRIEC. Vijay is passionately involved with projects for socio-economic changes in India, especially in areas of education, rural empowerment and political reforms. He is currently the National Coordinator for Asha for Education, Canada and co-chair for Rural Empowerment Program in India.
