Conservative Parker calls for Palin to go - about time?

Conservative columnist: Palin should go

The Associated Press
Friday, September 26, 2008; 8:55 PM

WASHINGTON -- A conservative columnist who welcomed Sarah Palin's entry in national politics says she's proven to be a dud and should step aside as John McCain's running mate.

Kathleen Parker, writing in the National Review Online, says her "cringe reflex is exhausted" after watching the Alaska governor stumble through TV interviews and it's become clear to her that Palin is out of her league.

Vogue India photo shoot uses "real people"... Huh?

"Vogue's Fashion Photos Spark Debate in India"
……read the headline. One expected to find an article perhaps about sexually suggestive photos and edgy visuals that push the envelope on India’s publicly repressed middle class morality.

But stop right there!

This is entirely different.

Aafia Siddiqui – Terror Mastermind or Victim of Mistaken Identity?

What struck me as interesting in the Aafia Siddiqui story is NOT that she is considered the most important wanted woman in the world right now - OR the fact she graduated from MIT a venerable American Institution, but the fact that the two news agencies sounded so divergent in their reportage of the story. It broke on Wednesday over the NPR (National Public Radio) airwaves – a small but intriguing story about the woman who is accused of being an al-Qaida operative, a fixer for the terrorist organization and perhaps one of the missing links in the chain of command in the 9/11 attacks. The mainstream media picked it up a day later coming up with an entirely different focus.

Sex & The City

Single & Sexy …………..in LA, NY………..
Or for that matter anywhere around the world.
Does being single and sexy always go together? Can you be one without the other? No, you can no longer be single and not be sexy – that’s a no-brainer.

Conversely, can you be sexy and not be single, or more importantly not care about it – one way or another? Single people do give off a vibe, much like a pheromone, whereby animals of the opposite sex (of the same species) may track you by your scent and you are expected to play nice.

My Tears are Precious

My tears are precious.
I will not shed them.

I read someone’s thoughts on paper –
Some stranger somewhere far from
where I sit engulfed in my despair –
I am so small, so powerless, so alone.
I am overwhelmed – and yet he speaks my language!
He knows not where I sit, why I weep and why I live.
He speaks and I hear.

Hollywood and Racism?

Spike Lee and Clint Eastwood: Dirty Harry takes on Malcolm X! Poking with a stick or let sleeping dogs lie? Which side are you on? Do we have to pick a side? Whichever side you find yourself agreeing or sympathizing with, one thing is clear. Either because of the high profile status of the two contenders or because this is an issue whose time has come - This just refuses to go away. Even after Eastwood asked Lee to “shut his face” instead of making such an issue out of it.

Spike Lee has refused to back down from his criticism of Clint Eastwood for not including black soldiers in his two films about the battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.

Albert Einstein, Mother Teresa and God are at what appears to be at a Starbucks. No, scratch that - it’s not Starbucks. It is my home – there are just these enormous cups of coffee before us. I am in my bed. The first two of the afore-mentioned three are mere bystanders. The third of them has never appeared to me in person – and perhaps never will. Right now, He is present only in my consciousness.
